Lovely, lovely.

There is nothing like a tidy tree.

(EX CLAIMS)

Playful Heart, no!

Playful Heart,

you know that Good Luck Bear
and Tenderheart Bear

will be here any minute, and...

(HONKING)

They're here.

Oh, please excuse this mess.

Playful Heart!

Playful Heart, you know I baked that cake
for our company today.

Why I... I have never seen
such disgraceful behavior.

- Proud Heart.
- Playful Heart.

Care Bear Cousin alert.

Tenderheart Bear, Good Luck Bear,
I'm so glad you're here.

I've been looking at Earth
through the Rainbow River, and...

Well, come and see for yourselves.

As you can see, there's a little girl
on Earth who thinks that she's unlucky.

MOTHER: Hurry up, Millie,
you're late for school again.

All right, Mother.

(EX CLAIMS)

Oh, darn, just more of my bad luck.

Bad luck? There's no such thing
as bad luck, is there?

Of course not.

There goes Jinx Jacobs.

Let's follow her for some laughs.

(EX CLAIMS)

- Jinx Jacobs strikes again.
- Jinx Jacobs strikes again.

What's wrong with me?

Well, Care Bears, Care Bear Cousins,

it looks to me like Millie
could use a little help.

What are we waiting for? Let's go.

Hi, Charlie. Hi, guys.

How do you like my new bike?

Pretty neat, Jimmy. Can you do any tricks?

Sure, watch this.

See? No hands.

Oh, no!

Look out!

- Jinx Jacobs.
- Jinx Jacobs.

- Jinx Jacobs.
- Jinx Jacobs.

- Jinx Jacobs.
- Jinx Jacobs.

Now, children,

if you had apples
and I gave you more,

what would you have?

If you gave them to Jinx Jacobs,
you'd have apple sauce.

Mildred Jacobs, you are late again.

Report to the principal's office at once.

Gosh, I am so unlucky.

I bet I'm the unluckiest person
in the whole world.

I bet I'm the unluckiest person
in the whole universe.

Maybe she's right.

PROUD HEART: Shh.

Hello. We're the Care Bears.

And the Care Bear Cousins.

I'm Millie Jacobs, but you can call me Jinx,
everybody else does.

Millie, don't you know that
there's no such thing as bad luck?

Maybe not if you're a Care Bear,
but there is if you're a little girl.

Black cats run away
when they see me coming.

Oh, Good Luck Bear, maybe...

Do you think that you could
give me a lucky charm?

Well, I think that's a fine idea.

Oh, what's in the box, Good Luck Bear?

Millie, there is something in this box
that could change your luck forever.

But you must not open it
until you have our permission.

Oh, no, I won't open it.

But will the charm work?

Millie, you can do anything now,
if you really try.

Thank you, Good Luck Bear.

Thank you all.

(EX CLAIMS)

This is the happiest day of my life.

When Millie does open that box,

I think she's going
to be very, very surprised.

There she goes.

Let's wish her luck.

If you really are my lucky charm,
then help me now.

- Hey, Jimmy, let me help.
- You? No way.

(SIGHS)

- Hey, you'll break it again.
- No, I won't. Please, Jimmy.

I can't stand it.

I'm going to help her.

No, she's got to do it herself.

There. You just couldn't see the axle.
And I'm sorry I broke your other wheel.

Thanks. And it was
kind of my fault, too, Millie.

It's working: My lucky charm is working:

Look out. Here comes the Jinx.

(ALL EX CLAIMING)

She needs some courage.
I'm going to help her.

No, Good Luck Bear is right.

If Millie has to have our help,
she'll never believe in herself.

- All right.
- All right.

You really are lucky.

Oh, that don't mean nothing.
She's still a Jinx.

BOY: That was just an accident.

Just an accident? We'll see about that.

Come on, Charlie, try again.

Nobody can get up there.

I can.

No, go away.

No, Jinx, you'll make us all fall down.

You can do it, Millie, if you think you can.

(WHISTLE BLOWS)

She'll never do it.

Jinx did it!

- Hooray for Jinx!
- Hooray for Jinx!

Thank you, but my name is Millie.

(EX CLAIMS)

I'm so happy to see you all again.

- Good Luck Bear, may I?
- Yes, Millie, you may open the box now.

Oh, I bet that it's... I bet that it's...

It's a picture of me.

That's right, Millie.

The best kind of luck is
the kind you make yourself.

Oh, I see what you mean.

I just had to believe in myself.

And be proud.

And be determined.

And you were your own lucky charm.

Oh, Care Bears, Care Bear Cousins,

the luckiest thing that ever happened
to me was meeting you.

Thank you. Thank you all.

But I really have to go now
or I'll be late for school.

Care Bears, Care Bear Cousins,

I really think
that Millie is going to be all right.

Well, Care Bear Cousins,

I hope it's not too late for Good Luck Bear
and myself to continue our visit.

Of course. I don't think
that Playful Heart finished all the cake.

TENDERHEART: Look, there's Millie.

GOOD LUCK: I think that any day
you find a new friend

is an especially lucky day.
