01x07 - Mayor for a Day / The Night the Stars Went Out

Post by bunniefuu »

Mom, some of my favorite stars
are missing tonight.

Don't be silly, David.
The stars are right where they belong.

I don't know, Mom.

The Big Dipper just doesn't look right.

But, Mom, look. The bottom
just dropped out of the Big Dipper.

I'm here, Wish Bear.
Go ahead, make a wish.

Okay, I will.

Let me see.

I wish...

Did you see that, Bedtime Bear?

My star just disappeared.

Are you sure he disappeared?

Maybe he just went to play
somewhere else.

That can't be!

My star just wouldn't leave me
in the middle of a wish.

(VIOLIN PLAYING)

- Please let us out, Strato-Nefarious.
- Please let us out, Strato-Nefarious.

Never interrupt Maestro Strato-Nefarious

when he's practicing.

Just keep twinkling, little ones.

(LAUGHING)

Oh, my goodness!
All our Star Friends are disappearing.

This is dreadful.

(GARGLING WATER)

What's going on?

Our Star Friends might be in danger.

If our Star Friends go away,
there won't be any sparkle in the sky.

That's right. Our stars keep the night light
shining on Earth.

Someone is up to no good.

We've got to find out what's going on.

Good morning, everyone.

Hi, Joshua. Ready to play?

- I'm ready. Not it.
- Not it.

Not it. David's it.

One, two, three,

four...

Something strange is going on.

(THUNDER RUMBLING)

Last night the stars disappeared

and now the sun disappears.

Oh, I don't like this.

Come on, quit stalling.

(SIGHS)

What's taking so long?

Come on, hurry up.

Okay, here I come.

Ready or not... Yipes!

(THUNDER CRACKING)

This is spooky.

This is no fun. I'm going home.

I'm getting soaked.

Who turned on the hose?

I just know this has something to do
with the missing stars.

(VIOLIN PLAYING)

I think I see someone.

And I hear strange music. Let me see.

(GROANS)

Hey, who turned my stars off?

Back to work, all of you. Get twinkling.

We are. We're doing our best.

Turn us loose, you'll be sorry.

Now we know who's been fiddling
around with our Star Friends.

The first thing we gotta do is get back
and tell the Care Bears.

No, the first thing we've gotta do
is set me right-side up.

Care Bears, our Star Friends
are really in a pickle.

We know who's in that cloud.

Well, tell us who it is.

- It's Strato-Nefarious.
- That settles it.

We've got to move fast before that cloud
gets all our Star Friends.

- Let's go!
- Let's go!

- Care Bears to the rescue!
- Care Bears to the rescue!

(VIOLIN PLAYING)

Hmm.

What star shall I scoop up next?

(EX CLAIMING)

I can't have these Care Bears
interfering with my practicing.

A little thunder and lightning
should send them away.

Yikes!

- Heads up!
- Got you, Friend Bear.

Thanks. I needed that.

Batter up!

Home run! Nice going, Grumpy Bear.

All right! No more Mr. Nice Guy.

Full Care Bear alert!

Time to share a Care Bear Stare.

(STARS CHEERING)

Care Bears to the rescue!

Hooray!

All right! Whoopee!

My cloud!

What have they done
to my beautiful cloud?

Shame on you, Maestro Strato-Nefarious.

What are you doing away
from your dark corner of the universe?

That's just the problem.

It's too dark there to see my music.

Don't take my light away.

- Let us go! Let us shine for everyone!
- We want to be free!

Don't you like good music?

That's not the point.
You took away our stars.

How would you like it
if someone took away your violin?

Oh, heaven forbid!

But how can I practice my music
without my little Star Friends here?

I need their light.

But their light is for everyone to share.

If all you needed was light, why didn't you
come to us in the first place?

You mean I can keep this?

Sure. There's more where that came from.

But you can only keep it
if you let the stars go.

Go ahead. Turn them loose.

Back to work, little stars.

This is marvelous.

(LAUGHING)

Why didn't I think of this earlier?

Wow! Mom!

Mom, all the stars are going back in place.

So they are, David.

Now, how did they manage
to get back there so fast?

Phew!
