and we have a lot more work to do,

so we need to figure out what's going on with this box.

Well, I'm noticing that the box actually has

the same symbols on it that were on your briefcase.

That symbol that's on top of the box is actually

the same symbol that helped us with the séance

to get to the 1970s to begin with.

And you said that those were...

It's the Society Against Evil symbol.

What do you know about that?

Essentially, the Society Against Evil fights all evil.

I've been with them before.

Once Matt starts to realize that there's a connection,

I realize I should probably explain a little bit more.

And so they're the ones who are out to help this town?

So they're with us?

They failed in their mission, and that's why we're here.

Two people have d*ed, and finally now you decide that

this is pertinent information for us to know, Joey?

If they failed, how are we supposed to succeed?

They don't know what's happened to me in the past,

otherwise they would not be on this adventure with me.

and we've been battling this wicked force for centuries.

As with the last time we cleansed an artifact,

there's now something new on the map.

Okay, what's new? Okay, so we got Shag's Motel.

Manny: Okay.

Sounds like a place I would visit.

"Man with No Name's Lair.

"The Man with No Name was hunted

"because the town thought he was a freak of nature.

He sure showed them."

( loud crash )

Manny: When I hear crashes like this, I'm thinking,

no, I don't wanna go outside, like, please, I really don't wanna go outside.

Mortimer: I think we should check it out, right?

Yeah, I mean, I'm that girl, I'm like the one that's like,

why are we going towards the crash? I don't understand.

Nothing's here. I don't see anything.

( gasps ) Oh, my God, it's a body!

Teala: Who is that? I thought when he said

something fell off the roof, he meant a shoe,

or a stuffed animal, or maybe popcorn,

not a dead body!

"I'm getting close to finding the Statue of Era.

"His power is both terrifying and intoxicating.

I'm thinking this has gotta be our next artifact.

"After gathering their obituaries,

"I discovered that their deaths have been

"secretly chronicled in 'Adventures of Allan Quatermain.'

"There's something about placing the volumes

"in their proper order that will reveal the statue.

- Okay, so we need... - both: Books.

We need to find six books, guys.

Colleen: Okay, so we have to look for books

written by that person, okay?

- Oh, oh, there's some... - Wait, wait.

As we're flipping through the book, we also see another page that's a painting,

and we realize that this painting has six people in it.

Oh, that's the painting, yeah.

It looks like we're gonna have to place the six books

in front of the picture in a certain order.

We need to find these books, one,

and we need to match up these books

to a m*rder that happened, two,

and we need to figure out where the hell do we place them.

Safiya: Think we've got four.

Joey: We have six? Okay, good.

There's a photo in here that looks--

it's a book holder.

So I think--oh, that's where we place them in order.

- Oh, yeah. - We still need to find these obituaries

'cause that's gonna tell us the order.

Guys, I just found, like, a secret pocket.

- Oh, my God. - Don't lose it.

Each of these obituaries has a pretty detailed description

of how all these people d*ed.

Sarah G. was eaten alive by flesh-eating beetles.

And we find out that the causes of their deaths

actually line up with the books of Allan Quatermain.

So we use the pictures in the obituaries to match them up

with their appropriate adventurer in this painting.

Okay, this guy was crucified by the Black Order Cult.

Safiya: That's "The Evil Cross."

Oh, I've got, "Danielle Impaled by a Trident."

- Yes, that's her. - Oh, this is this.

Safiya: With that information, we're able to line up

the books in the order they're supposed to go.

- So one... - Two.

all: Two.

- What's three? - "The stake b*rned alive."

- That one's three. - Four, and then here's five.

Okay, here, I'm gonna go put these in over here.

Five and six.

- Oh, my gosh. - One, two, three, four.

- Rosanna: Oh, my gosh, Joey. - Five and six.

We finally get the books in the correct order, and suddenly...

- ( squeaks ) - all: Oh, my God.

- What the...? - Oh.

A wall falls down, and there's a whole secret room right there.

( muffled demonic speech )

That looks demonic.

Matpat: We're not in Everlock anymore, Toto.

This crazy door opens out of nowhere,

and inside is this really scary statue.

It must be the Statue of Era.

There's some kind of box in here, you guys.

I feel like we shouldn't open it,

but I feel like that means we should.

Inside the box, there's a note and a bunch of straws.

The note says, "The Statue of Era infects all who touch it."

Oh no! Did we just touch it?

I think you touched the box.

There's no scary snakes, there's no scary clowns,

but there is just a cute little statue.

But if you touch it, you die.

Safiya: "To purify the crusted idol,

five ancient stones must be placed at its feet."

That's those holes, probs. Joey: Oh, okay.

"To find the stones, you must assemble

"two hunting parties by drawing straws from the box.

"The two with the short straws will be the party leaders.

"Starting with the youngest leader,

they will take turns picking their team.

We gotta say our age? Okay.

I'm the youngest.

"The group to recover the stones will be safe from the final challenge.

"However, The Man with No Name protects his gems,

"and his touch removes you from the hunt for five minutes.

Your only sanctuary is under a red light."

So the short straws end up being the team captains.

Short straw number one?

Ooh, that looks short. Manny.

Short straw number two? Teala.

You're the youngest, so you gotta pick first.

School yard pick, huh?

This is a lot of pressure. I pick Matt.

- Okay, all right. - I pick Nikita.

- Safiya. - I pick Joey.

- Good choice. - I know.

Ro.

All right, it's fine. No hard feelings.

- All good. - All good, best for last.

- So... - Where are we hunting?

Joey: We have to go outside,

and the only place safe is the red lights.

And we're looking for gemstones?

- Yes. - Gemstones, five.

- And we can't let him touch any of us. - Correct.

Let's get this hunting party started.

(foreboding music)

We walk outside, and there's just this

terrifying green mist covering the entire town.

And we notice these hands that have severed fingers.

They're missing fingers.

"Each clue will lead their respective group to a severed finger."

Yay, I love finding severed body parts.

It's disgusting. Gross.

Ew, we have to find fingers? Why?

"After each finger is found,

"the group must return to their hand

and put it back to the bone to receive the next clue."

So we need to find these fingers,

put the hand back together,

and then hopefully find these stones.

"There's an additional puzzle by the pump station

"that holds one of the Lazarus coins

"needed to open the Lazarus Box.

"It does not need to be completed to win,

"but if a hunting party manages to open it,

"they'll not only get the coin, but be moved ahead

to the final clue even if they've not solved the others."

- So we're looking for fingers. - Yeah.

- We'll get a clue at a time. - Yes.

- Leading us to it. - Mm-hmm.

Basically, whoever doesn't get the stones first,

their names are up for elimination.

- I think we should get started. - Okay.

Team one-- team one's over here, guys.

- We're team two. - Team two.

Okay, hunting party two. Okay.

- Everybody grab your note. - Does everybody have their notes?

- Yes. - Yes.

Both teams, read your first clue.

Okay, "Stand between the sun and moon,

and view the tree that d*ed too soon."

So we need to look for a tree that d*ed too soon,

and look for a sun and moon.

- "Eight sides to feel the air, a romantic place to stop and stair."

There's stairs that are romantic,

eight sides, stairs, eight stairs...

- All right, what could that be? - It's the gazebo.

- Go! - Safiya: The gazebo's right there, yeah.

( demonic growling )

I'm in pure shock.

- ( growling ) - Guys, find a red light.

( panicked chatter ) Oh, my God!

Around the corner, comes The Man with No Name,

towering over us.

( hissing )

And he has really long arms.

Okay. Okay, ready, go, go, go.

( whispering ) No, wait, wait.

The pump station, I think, is that way.

- I swear. - Okay, come on.

- I'm with you guys. - Yes, yes, yes.

My team strategy is to split up.

Teala and I go to the gas station.

Matt and Safiya go to solve some clues.

- Under the stair. - Under the stair?

(dramatic music)

Wait. Nope.

My team strategy is actually to stick together,

so we figured, let's go ahead and do these puzzles together.

I can't see anything.

Joey: "Sun and moon, tree that d*ed too soon."

Oh, sun. A sun, a sun, a sun.

- Where's the moon? - ( growling )

All right, we need to find the moon.

There's a lock. There's a code.

- What's it say? - Oh, my God.

- Oh, I don't like that! - It's upside down.

Mortimer: I don't know, but this thing is coming back.

Rosanna: I'm not sure the strategy is working.

I feel like Matt is a natural leader.

Teala and I decide to go meet up with them

and help out any way we can.

- Up this way. - Let's go this way.

( growling )

- Where's the moon? - Sun, moon.

( gasps ) This tree, this tree d*ed too soon.

I found it. We got the first finger.

- Yes, yes, yes. - Okay, let's go back.

Okay, the gazebo is, "Eight sides to stop and stair,"

Matpat: As soon as we get our first clue,

we immediately know that it's gonna be the gazebo.

The hardest part of this challenge

is actually finding the fingers.

- Okay. - Colleen: Okay.

- Where's the next clue? - I don't know.

Literally, the tall homeboy was right in between us.

And I'm thinking to myself,

So at this point I'm like, let's ignore these riddles

and head to the gas station, where we know that

there is a clue to unlock one of the Lazarus Box's coins.

The pump station had a code. There was a lock.

- It's worth a sh*t. - Let's do it.

- Look, he's right there. - Hurry, hurry, hurry back.

Guys, oh, my God, oh, my god, oh, my God.

- Swift, swift, swift. - Go.

- ( roars ) - Nikita: Oh, my God.

Joey: Guys, what does it say?

Its tune will leave you wanting more."

In this room, there's a piano in here.

Okay, "There are 500 coffins and 500 men who need them.

"The undertaker asks the first man to go to every coffin and open it.

but we're pretty far behind at this point.

Just keep looking under the skulls, guys.

My god, that was terrifying.

We're going into the elimination challenge.

I'm kind of angry, to be honest,

because Matt and I solved two out of three clues,

and we didn't get a lot of help.

- So you guys found the stones? - Yeah, we did.

- We have all four. - Good job.

- Congrats, congrats, guys. - Thank you.

So I guess that means that you guys are up for vote?

- Yeah, that is what that means. - That is how the rules go.

So this letter that we got says,

"The blood gem can only be recovered

"by learning the name of the man without one.

"Two must be selected by vote to enter

his toxic lair and steal it from him."

So there's still one more gem we need.

Yeah, the big one in the center?

- Yeah. - So, shall we lounge it up?

- Yeah. - Let's go vote.

Matpat: So we end up going back to the Divine Lounge.

We see the obsidian stones that the other team got.

The big blood gem in the middle

is the only thing that's missing.

That's the prize of our next challenge.

I feel like for this challenge, I sort of pulled my weight.

The first clue--I feel like I knew it was the gazebo right away.

I found both of our fingers.

I know that I didn't pull my weight into this challenge,

so it is kinda hard for me to go in and plead my case for this.

How could we have gone through all of this,

and you're literally gonna sit there and not defend yourself?

show that she's still passionate about surviving,

otherwise she's gonna go in.

it would be crazy to put me in this challenge

because I think the group needs me.

Honestly, I am accepting the fact

that I have a very strong chance

of being eliminated tonight.

On a lot of challenges, my name has been brought up,

and I've been getting very lucky, so...

I'm getting the sense that people want to send me into the challenge,

but I do not want to go into this challenge.

to ensure that Teala doesn't win.

I feel like, for the group,

for us to escape the entire night, we need Ro back.

she's not contributing anything to the group.

"hidden throughout the lair that spell the name

"The first to find their set and arrange them

must call out his name."

In this challenge, we need to run around,

find all the letters,

and figure out what this guy's name is.

"They will then receive the blood gem,

and the other will be strangled."

It's like a dark, creepy, Easter egg hunt.

Teala, you remember, you're yellow.

- I'm red. - Approach the bridge.

( both whimpering )

Teala: After running away from The Man with No Name

for so long, the fact that we are going to his lair

terrifies me.

Good luck.

I am scared for them.

This fog is thick.

I can't see anything. I have to move like he does.

( low growling )

While this is going on,

The Man with No Name is chasing us.

( roars )

I can definitely tell that Ro's spirits are back up.

She's so happy and proud of herself

for making it out of there alive,

and I think we're gonna see a new Ro moving forward.

- Manny: Give us hugs. - Yes, yes.

Manny: So Ro comes in with the third artifact cleansed,

and we are feeling ourselves, we only have five to go,

and now we're realizing that we kind of messed up.

Did you find any coins while you were there?

No, we didn't find any coins,

so did we lose our chance of opening this?

I hope not, because I think it could really help us out if we get it.

This whole part of the night has just been super frustrating,

like, we didn't finish finding our stones,

and we didn't get the coin for the Lazarus Box.

And I'm wondering,

will we ever get another chance to find that coin?

Safiya: Yeah, no one got the extra challenge at the pump.

We didn't even try.

So, is this locked forever?

(tense music)

This just proves that the carnival master

is extremely powerful.

( evil laughter )
