- 'Yee-haw!'
- 'Yee-haw!'

If anybody else went to town
to pick up parts for the tractor..

It wouldn't rattle
nobody's chain.

But these are the
Dukes, this is Hazzard..

And that means trouble.

'You know what day Saturday is?'

Well, it's your birthday. O-oh!

And listen, as soon as daddy
writes a few more citations

I'm gonna have the
money and we'll go into town

and buy you a great
big birthday present.

'Cause I love you so much.

Maybe some doggie num-nums.

Go, Flash.

'We've got another live one.'

Get that panel
truck to pull over.

Good dog, he sees my lights now.

It's the law, Mandy
Jo. What do we do?

Just take it easy, B.B.

They can't know anything yet.

Listen, you just pull over,
get out and act natural.

- Keep 'em away from the truck.
- Okay.

'Ha ha. Yeah, that's it.'

Now, this fellow, B.B.,
is trying to look innocent

'cause he and his lovely
wife, Mandy, just kidnapped

a valuable basset
show dog named Maxine

which in Dixon is like sneaking
off with the crown jewels.

- Get your license out.
- Yes, sir.

'You violated a
seven-six-thirty-two..'

Don't look like Maxine
wants to stay kidnapped, huh?

Good.

- 'Thank you.'
- Welcome to Hazzard.

Good dog. I love it, I love it.

'Another one,
darling. Another one..'

You gotta let daddy in.
We'll catch another one.

Maybe I better
check on that dog.

We'll stop later, let's just get
out of Hazzard County first.

Who did that? Oh,
I love you, darling.

You really think John J.
Hooper's gonna pay us

that , ransom we asked for?

B.B., you worked for him for
eight years before he fired you.

You know how much him
and his wife think of that animal.

- Yeah.
- Well, he'll pay.

Just as soon as he
gets the ransom note.

Hey, ain't that Doc Appleby?

'It sure is. Looks like
he could use some help.'

- 'Howdy, boys.'
- Hey, doc.

- Need a lift?
- I sure do.

I'm glad you Dukes came along.

My old car just stopped running.

I got an emergency call
at the county orphanage.

We'll give you a hand. Grab
your bag and we'll be on our way.

I'll call Cooter, he'll come
out and fix your car in no time.

- Oh, that's gorgeous.
- Throw that in the back.

Here you go.

- Just put your arm around me.
- Alright, boys.

- You got him, Luke?
- I got him.

Doc, now watch your knees
and your elbows and everything.

- You get in there?
- Yeah, I'm fine.

- There you go.
- Thank you.

Alright, Bo, hit it.
We're out of here.

Now, this here is the
county orphanage, folks.

Well, you ain't seeing
a lot of young'uns

'cause they're all away
for the week at Camp Hogg.

All except one.

His name is Terry Lee.

And he's got hisself
a king-size problem.

That's why the
caretaker, Ira Grant

called up old Doc Appleby.

Hey.

- How you doing?
- Hey, Mr. Grant?

- Fine.
- Here.

Yes, sir.

- Let's give him a hand.
- Ugh!

- That's it.
- Head first, doc.

'Little tight.'

- 'It's the hard way to do it.'
- Come here, doc.

- Oh, thank you, boys.
- Here's your bag.

I'm sorry to get you
out here again, doc, but..

'...little Terry Lee
ain't no better.'

'He won't eat nothin'. And
I'm gettin' awful worried.'

I'll have a look.

What's bothering
the boy, Mr. Grant?

'He lost both his
parents recently'

and ever since they
brought him to us..

He ain't said a word to no one.

'And can't hardly get him
to touch a morsel of food.'

Yeah, well, anything Luke
and I can do to help him out?

Well, we've done
everything we could think of.

'Nothing seems to work.'

This is the second time I've
had to get the doc out here.

Well, is there anything
you can do for him, doc?

I got no pill that'll cure
a heart that's broken.

What that boy needs
is something to live for.

'Only... I got no idea
what that would be.'

I'm gonna stay out here
for a while and... sit a spell.

- Keep on trying.
- We'd love to help.

It's gonna take a small miracle.

You got one in your pockets?

If we did, it'd be
yours for the taking.

'Kind of brings you
back, don't it, Luke?'

'Somehow I don't remember
being quite that sad.'

'Yeah, sh**t, we were awful
young when our folks passed on.'

I guess, probably because
I had you and Daisy.

And we all had Uncle Jesse.

We gotta count our blessings.

Yup, that we do.

Well, we're passed
the county line.

Honey, why don't you pull over?

- The dog could use some water.
- Okay, honey.

I'll give the pup some water.

Okay, hound dog.

Honey, she's gone!

- 'What?'
- The dog's gone!

What? Oh, sh**t!

That dog must've crawled
out of that busted door

when that stupid
sheriff stopped us.

Right.

Now what?

Do I have to tell
you everything?

We turn around, find
Maxine and collect the money

just like we planned.

Okay, get the door.

- Thinking about Terry Lee?
- Yeah.

Something to live for, doc said.

Somebody to love him.

Somebody to need him.

Hey, Bo.

What needs a lot of lovin'

but gives nothing but
pure pleasure in return?

Cindy Mae Moffat,
man's best friend.

I'm talkin' about a
little boy's best friend.

- A dog!
- Hey, you're right.

Come on, let's go
on down to the pound.

This here is the Hazzard Dog
Pound. A nice place to visit.

And that's
Mr. Winkle, who runs it.

Listen, Winkle, that pound
of yours ain't produced

so much as a dime of
revenue these past six months.

Matter of fact, I was
thinking of closing you down

if you never get no dogs.

I'm just two months
shy of retiring.

I'd lose my pension.

'Well, that's your
problem now, ain't it?'

Well, uh, I'm happy to report..

That I got a dog now, Mr. Hogg.

'Someone just brung in the
cutest little ol' basset hound.'

He's lost, you know.

And I figured that..

Someone might take her, you know

for the usual donation fee.

Well, after the
six-day waiting period.

Well, if I was
you, I'd make sure

someone took that dog off
my hands before sundown.

Uh, uh, Mr. Hogg, you're
supposed to wait six days..

Uh, to make sure she's
got no rightful owner.

Time and tide wait for no man.

He hung up.

Well..

If someone comes..

I'm gonna have to
lie a little, you know?

Or both of us are gonna
be outta house and home.

You were a little
hard on Twinkle.

Oh, no, no, Tw-Winkle!
And I wasn't hard on him.

No, sirree, Bob. No,
I was motivating him.

Motivating.

'Hey, it's the Dukes.'

- It's looking kinda empty here.
- Yeah, it is.

- 'Hi, boys, how you doing?'
- How you doing, Mr. Winkle?

- How are you?
- How you doing?

- Hey, a basset hound.
- Uh-huh.

Boy, if that don't
look like Flash.

All basset hounds
look like Flash.

Oh, and she's real friendly too.

Hey, she'd make
you Dukes a fine pet.

Oh, Mr. Winkle,
she ain't for us.

She's for a little boy
down at the orphanage.

Oh. Oh, well, you
couldn't do no better.

Oh, I'd say that even if she
weren't the only dog I got.

Oh, she don't have
an owner, huh?

Well, uh, no. No, she don't.

Well, she's an orphan
too, don't you know.

How long has she been here?

Oh, a long time.

Uh, uh, maybe, ten days.

Uh, fact is, if, uh, you
boys don't take her..

I don't rightly know what's
gonna become of her.

- We ain't got much choice.
- Ha ha, no.

Well, sh**t then, I guess
we'll take her. How much?

- Oh, there's no charge, Bo.
- Great!

But I certainly would

appreciate any little donation
that you'd all care to make.

Sign here says ten
bucks. That be alright?

Oh, well, that... I didn't
know about the sign.

- 'Ten bucks would be great.'
- I got some singles here.

- I got eight.
- I got five. Here.

- There you go.
- Ten dollars.

Here's ten bucks.

We're gonna be needin'
a dog license too?

Yeah, you get
that at the City Hall.

- Alright. Well, thanks a lot.
- Okay, thank you.

- Thank you, guys.
- Appreciate it.

I'm sure that dog will
make that little boy

as happy as she's made me.

- 'Bye.'
- Bye-bye.

She sure does look
like Flash, doesn't she?

- Yes, she does.
- Hi there, sweetheart.

No, not quite, she got couple
of dark marks behind her ears.

Well, I'm hoping Mr. Winkle
was right about him makin'

that little boy
happy, that's all.

One way to find
out. Let's hit the road.

Come on, girl, now get in there.

And watch out for my feet.
I'm coming through, okay?

No, no, you can't drive.

Now, who'd have thunk it?

If you take two Dukes,
add one cute hound dog..

Well, that'd be a
recipe for trouble.

And while the Dukes was
taking Maxine to the orphanage

them dognappers
was searching for her.

Not a sign of her. You
reckon someone found her?

I hope so.

Come on, let's start looking
at all the logical places.

Well, this is a surprise. What
you doing back here, boys?

- Well..
- Good to see you.

We got a little something
here for Terry Lee.

- Yeah?
- What do you think?

Oh.

Sure is cute.

Heck, why not? We've
tried everything else.

- You wanna give it to him?
- No, you two should do that.

- Come on, out of here, babe.
- Here we go. Let's go.

- Let's surprise him, alright?
- Yeah.

Terry Lee.

Terry Lee, my name is Luke.

And I got my cousin, Bo, here.

Uh, we'd kinda like
to be your friends.

We also got..

Somebody else here that'd
like to be your friend too.

'Terry Lee?'

'Everybody needs
a friend or two.'

'You see, she
likes you already.'

Why don't you pet her?

We was hoping you'd like her,
'cause she ain't got no home.

'That's the problem we
got, you see, Terry Lee.'

We gotta find somebody
who's gonna feed her

and play with her and..

She's gonna need a lot of love.

I don't suppose you'd know
anybody like that, would you?

I could take care of her.

Can I have her? Please.

She's all yours, son.

Will she be mine
forever and ever?

'Yeah, you bet she will.'

As long as you take good care
of her, that there is a promise.

We can talk to our Uncle Jesse
and build her a doghouse too.

Yeah, we'll get Daisy to bring
some dog food, even a blanket.

Boys, like I've always said

sometimes the best medicine
don't come out of a bottle.

Much obliged,
boys, much obliged.

I'm just glad we
could do something.

We'll head to the
courthouse, get a dog license

make everything official.

It's a shame for Terry to lose a
friend just when he found one.

The Dukes are feeling good
now, but it's gonna get awful sticky

when things get straightened out

and Terry Lee has
to give up that dog.

I'd rather eat a rattlesnake
than take on that problem.

Terry Lee sure looked happy.

Kind of makes you
feel good, don't it?

Yeah, it sure does.

- Looks like Rosco.
- Hang on.

'How about it, Rosco?'

'Yee-e-e!'

Oh!

'Alright, you Dukes.'

You got a crooked license
plate, and now it's a $ fine

or hours in jail. Now,
you take your choice.

'I suggest you pull over and
let me check that license plate.'

Sorry, Rosco. You're gonna
have to check it in town.

We'll see you at City Hall.

Doggone it!

Doggone it, Flash.

Just when we had those
Dukes in the palms of our paw.

Doggone radiator.

It's just one thing
after another.

Oh, good grief!

Oh.

Oh.

Oh.

Alright, Flash. Come
out here, darling.

Now... now just-just sit
right down there and stay

till daddy gets some water
for that nasty old radiator.

Now, stay, darling.

Look at the
sheriff's car up there.

'Hold it, B.B. You
see what I see?'

'It's our basset hound.'

As y'all might be figuring

right about now, the problem
for the Dukes gets even worse.

Somebody must have
turned her in to the sheriff.

'Yeah.'

'And he don't
seem to be around.'

- Rosco dropped out of the hunt.
- Yeah.

We better turn around,
make sure he's alright.

Yeah, alright.

- What about the law?
- Just come on.

Let's get her and get
outta here. I'll cover.

'Will you hurry up?'

'Hey! Hey, there!'

What the heck are you
doing? Who do you think..

Oh! Wait a minute!

Sheriff! Freeze it! Freeze!

Free..

Oh!

- Help me.
- Let's get going!

Just drive this thing!

Bring her back!

Well, them
dognappers did it again.

Only this time, they got
themselves the wrong dog.

There ain't nothin'
that messes things up

like an inept criminal.

- Bo.
- Hang on.

Y'all realize that
all this started

'cause Bo and Luke was
trying to get a little boy a dog?

Somebody's in a
hurry to get somewhere.

You know it.

Rosco?

They took my dog, Flash.

They kidnapped my dog.

- Who did?
- They did. They just, they..

- Was they in a panel truck?
- Yeah, t-they was in a truck.

- They were..
- Come on, Rosco.

It'll be alright. Get
in the General Lee.

Why would they take a man's dog?

I don't know, but we're
gonna find her for you Rosco.

Come on, Rosco. Get in there.

The Dukes helping Rosco?

Yep.

Kids and dogs is
a common leveler.

Why would anybody go out
and steal Flash, anyways?

'I'll tell you why.'

He was that dude I gave a
ticket to about an hour ago.

I tell you one thing,
he's in serious trouble

if he harms one flea on
Flash's beautiful head.

Speaking of heads, you got
quite a lump on yours, Rosco.

Where? Oh-ho!

And that's another.

- 'No sign of 'em, Luke.'
- 'Looks like we lost 'em.'

We'll give you a ride back
to the courthouse, though.

Don't worry about this. I'm
sure you're gonna get Flash back.

Flash is the only
thing I ever loved.

Except mama and Lulu.

And Boss at Christmas time.

'And Saturday's her birthday.'

And I already had
her present picked out.

A king-size bag of
doggie num-nums.

They probably
won't take it back.

We'll get her back for you.

Poor Flash wasn't doing
no better without Rosco.

And little Terry Lee was
moving closer than ever

to having his little old
heart broke a second time.

And all because the Dukes
was trying to do right by him.

We'll have Cooter get your
car, tow it into town and fix it.

Yeah, we'd be happy to lend
a hand in finding Flash too.

Dang it all.

We may as well head over
and get that distributor cap

and come back and
get that dog license.

Yeah, I hate to
see him that way.

Hey, Enos

something terrible
just happened.

My dog, Flash, has
been kidnapped.

Flash kidnapped! Possum
on a gum bush, sheriff.

Is there anything I can do?

I want you to get
APB out right away.

I'm going after 'em,
I'm taking your car.

- I'm going after them...
- Wait a minute, sheriff.

- I'll go with you.
- No!

'It's my dog.'

'And I'll go after her myself.'

Meanwhile, them dognappers
thought they was home free.

Honey, I think it's about
time we feed Maxine.

- This ain't Maxine. Look.
- 'What?'

Behind the ears. No spots.

Dang it!

We got ourselves the wrong dog.

Now what are we going to do?

We have to go back and get her.

No, the sheriff got a
good look at the truck.

We'll just take
care of that too.

Alright, Enos.

I got some more
dictating for you.

Mr. Hogg, let me
send out this APB first.

Sheriff Rosco just told me
someone kidnapped Flash.

Someone kidnapped Flash?

Oh, what a shame. I'm
gonna miss that mutt.

What are you
scratching your head for

considering there
ain't nothing in it?

Almost forgot, Mr. Hogg,
I got this on the teletype.

"A prized basset hound,
belonging to Mr. John J. Hooper

"was reported missing from
a dog show in Chickasaw.

There's a $ , reward."

And now poor
Flash has been took.

Mr. Hogg, have you ever heard of
an open season on basset hounds?

- "Dark spots behind the ear."
- What's that, Mr. Hogg?

Oh, nothin'. Nothin'. You
get out that ABP on Flash.

- I got things to do!
- Yes, sir.

Poor Flash.

Gussie, Gussie, Gussie.

Gussie, yeah, listen, give
me Winkle down at the pound.

Ten thousand dollar reward.

Winkle, this is your
commissioner speaking.

Yes, sir, Mr. Hogg.

Listen, now that basset
hound you said you got.

Does it have "dark
spots behind the ears?"

Oh, she sure does, but...

Alright, listen, you keep
your hands on that dog

you hear me? I'm
coming right over.

Sure has a bad habit
of hanging up, don't he?

I'm gonna take real
proper care of you.

Nothing or no one's
ever going to part us.

It's gonna be you and
me forever and ever.

'Cause we got Bo
and Luke's word on it.

Oh, boy. Them Dukes
just think they got trouble.

- Hey, Enos, wake up.
- Hey, fellows.

Could you get us a dog license?

Sure.

- Got any news of Flash?
- No.

If Rosco doesn't get her
back, I don't know what he'll do.

Yeah, we saw him this
morning, he's real wrecked.

It sure has been a
day for basset hounds.

I got this on the teletype a
while back. Another missing.

"Name of Maxine.
Reward $ , !"

This John J. Hooper
must be loaded.

"Dark markings
behind both ears."

Wait, you don't suppose that's
the one Mr. Winkle sold us?

Reported missing this morning..

Winkle said he'd had
that dog for ten days.

- We better check it out anyway.
- Yeah.

Listen, you hear any news
of Flash, give us a holler.

Yeah, we'll have to come
get that license later on.

'Thanks. Enos.'

Now, the Hazzard Dog
Pound ain't seen so much action

since the runaway
flea circus hid out there

when the carnival got stranded.

Alright, where is he?

Where's my dog? Where is
she? Where is that animal?

- Uh, Mr. Hogg...
- Come on, where is she?

- Where is that thing?
- I tried to tell you.

- What?
- I don't have the dog.

You don't have her?

Wait, I got a mighty fine
donation for her from the Dukes.

A donation from the Dukes?

Oh, listen, I told you to hold
on to that animal, didn't I?

Now them Dukes are
probably at Chickasaw

turning that hound
over to John J. Hooper

and taking all the reward
money that's rightfully mine.

No. They didn't take
that dog to Chickasaw.

- No?
- They took it to the orphanage.

- They did?
- Yeah.

- The orphanage? Ha ha ha.
- What's the matter with you?

Why didn't you says
so in the first place?

Well, I... you didn't ask me.

If I don't get that
dog back, Winkle..

You ain't gonna see a
penny of your pension.

But..

Oh!

Oh-h!

No pension? Gee.

On this day in Hazzard, it
was tough on cars and dogs.

Just wasn't safe to leave
either one of them alone.

Figuring the police would
be looking for their truck

Mandy Jo and B.B. stole a car

and headed for the
Hazzard Dog Pound.

'I'd say she likes it.'

'Just what the doctor ordered.'

Terry, I think we better
leave her out here.

Hand me that rope, Daisy?

So, you know, she can
get used to her new house.

She'll be fine.

Here we go. That does it.

Everybody inside.

Come on, Ira. You're pouring
because you know where it is.

There you go.

So, I-I lied about how
long I had that dog.

Well, I'm real sorry.

But at my age if I lose
my pension, I don't...

Mr. Winkle, we understand
all that, we really do.

How long ago did you say Boss
headed towards the orphanage?

Five, maybe ten minutes.

- You're telling truth, right?
- Oh, yeah, that's the truth.

Oh, I'm not lying anymore.

Don't you guys tell her that!

Don't tell him that I told ya!

Oh.

That $ , reward

is staring Boss Hogg's
wallet smack in the face.

He's gonna take Maxine for sure.

Break little Terry Lee's heart

just after we promised
him he could keep the dog.

Gosh, dang it, Luke.

Maxine does
belong to Mr. Hooper.

Terry's just gonna have to
give him up sooner or later.

Later is better than sooner.
At least we can talk to him.

I'd hate for him to
hear it from Boss.

Hello, Maxine.

Listen, I've come to take you
back to your rightful owner.

That's right. Never mind
there's a reward in it for me.

Besides it'll be better for you
to come with Uncle Boss now.

You know, even Boss
ain't mean enough

to break a little boy's heart.

The things we do in ignorance
would shame the devil.

While the Dukes was
racing to the orphanage

them dognappers was racing
to the Hazzard Dog Pound

in their stolen car.

- Taking a big risk, honey.
- Living broke is a bigger one.

'This is J.D. Hogg calling
Sheriff Rosco P. Coltrane'

and Deputy Enos Strate.

Now, y'all pay attention to
this very important message.

'I'm bringing in a
valuable lost dog.'

'Now, I want you all to meet me'

at the sheriff's booking office

so you all can guard
this valuable animal.

'Rosco, are you
listening to me or no?'

I'm listening, Boss, but I got
more important things to do.

I'm looking for my
beloved little darling, Flash.

If you ain't at your
office when I get there

'you're gonna be minus
your beloved little darlin' job'

as well as your beloved
little darlin' hound.

'Over and out.'

Seems like we
got the sheriff's dog

and they got ours.

Somebody stole Terry Lee's dog.

'We was just in the
house for a minute.'

And if we don't find that
dog and find her fast..

Oh, Terry Lee, honey.

Ever notice that
it's the little things

that get to you?

Like little dogs
and little people.

Uncle Jesse.

Listen, we think maybe it
was Boss that took the dog.

J.D.?

Why in the world...
would he steal a dog?

'We found out that it's a
show dog out of Capitol City'

and there's a reward out
for it. Is that enough reason?

What I ain't looking forward to
is explaining this to Terry Lee.

He's had enough
trauma for one day.

If you really wanna help
that boy, you find that dog

and bring her back. Then
explain what you have to explain.

In the meantime,
Daisy, me and the doc

will keep him occupied.

Just find the dog.

Alright, let's go.

You don't think Boss
will help us, do you?

We don't know if it's
Boss who took Maxine.

Come on.

Well, she didn't walk from
Chickasaw to Hazzard.

You figure she was
dognapped just like Flash?

It's the only answer
that makes sense.

Well, we'll get this whole
mess straightened out.

I sure would hate to
disappoint Terry Lee.

Got that right.

Now, Boss not only had Maxine..

He had her owner, John
J. Hooper, on the phone.

You say you're leaving for
Hazzard immediately, Mr. Hooper?

Good.

You bringing that reward
money with you, ain't you?

Good.

See you soon.

Boss made sure that Maxine
had the best of everything.

Listen, Enos, I gotta go
to my bank on business.

While I'm gone, I don't want
you or Rosco to leave this room.

And don't let nobody
near that reward.

I mean, near that dog. You hear?

Yes, sir, Mr. Hogg.

Hey, hold on.

This here is Luke Duke
calling the sheriff's office.

When the boys spotted
that abandoned truck

well, they figured that the
dognappers were still in town.

So they got on the CB
and they told old Enos.

When Enos told them
that Maxine was in custody

Luke warned old Enos to not
let strangers anywhere near her.

That's a big - , we're down.

Sheriff, sheriff.

Did you hear what
Luke Duke just said

about them dognappers
still being in town?

Enos.

Can't you let me be?

Can't you see I'm in mournin'?

No, no, no!

I don't care how
many kids they got.

Foreclose!

Wait a minute,
wait a... what is this?

Now, listen, we know
that you got Maxine.

We need to talk about
it just for a second.

You know all about that,
huh? Let me tell you something.

I don't intend to share that
reward money with nobody.

- Listen...
- Leastwise you Dukes.

We ain't interested
in no reward.

We're interested in this
kid down at the orphanage.

Now, he's in an awful bad way.

We don't know what he'll do
if we don't get that dog back.

You're saying you got the
dog for a boy at an orphanage?

Well, I'm really sorry
about that. I truly am.

But listen, let me
tell you, the fact is

that that dog does
have a rightful owner

and that rightful owner is
on his way from Chickasaw

to pick her up this very minute.
So listen, my hands are tied.

I can't do anything
about it, can I?

Now, excuse me,
I'm late for lunch.

- Wait a minute. What..
- Thanks a lot.

- That sure was a waste of time.
- Not necessarily.

He did say that Hooper
fella was heading into town.

We'll head to Route , cut
him off before he gets here?

- Make an offer to buy the dog.
- What with?

You forgettin' we already
spent ten bucks today?

Ah, we'll come up with
somethin'. Come on, let's go.

Okay, so we know
Maxine's in there.

But so is the sheriff.

I'm counting on the sheriff.

You heard him, how
much he loves his dog.

Well, I'm gonna
help him find her.

'Come on, hush up.'

'Hush up, doggie.'

Bo and Luke are
gonna find your dog.

I promise.

Hazzard was just
heated up with dog lovers.

And here come the Hoopers,
Maxine's real owners.

I wish we could blame Boss
Hogg for this whole mess.

We were so dang eager
to find Terry Lee a dog.

We should've known
that a dog that friendly

and that well taken care of
had to belong to somebody.

There's a lot of things
we should have known.

- Here comes a car.
- Maybe it's him.

- What do you think?
- Yeah, it's them.

- Mr. Hooper!
- Hold on a second.

I'm so sorry to have to stop
you like this, Mr. Hooper.

- It's about a dog.
- Oh, yes, we lost a dog.

Well, we found a dog at
a pound and we thought..

The boys flagged
down Mr. Hooper's car

and explained all about
what was happening.

And the effect it was having
on that little orphan boy, Terry.

The gist of all this is that,
as ridiculous as it may sound..

Me and Bo would
like to buy Maxine.

'We'll give you everything
we got as a down payment.'

We'll be happy to work
for the money that's left over

no matter how long it takes.

I'm sorry, Maxine's just
not for sale, not at any price.

'Besides we don't
know for sure it's Maxine'

'that this here Mr. Hogg found.'

Now, can you boys
direct me to him?

We can do better than
that. We'll show you the way.

- Just follow us into town.
- Good enough.

Things keep getting worse
for little Terry Lee, don't they?

About time that kid got a break.

Officers.

Excuse me, officers,
but not ten minutes ago

I was driving by Shady Tree Lane

and I, I... I almost ran over

the sweetest-looking
little basset hound.

It didn't have a
collar or nothin'

and I thought it was
lost and I thought

that somebody oughta know.

It..

It looked a lot like that
basset hound over there.

Can I have your name and
address, please, ma'am?

Come on, Enos,
listen. It must be Flash.

'She's gotten away
from her dognappers.'

I'm sorry, sheriff, but Luke
called and he said that..

Never mind what Luke said.
Didn't you hear what she said?

It's Flash. We gotta go get her.

Lady, you don't know
what this means to me.

You don't know what
this means to me.

- Come on, Enos.
- I've got to get the keys.

Never mind that.
We've got to get Flash.

Sheriff..

Flash, daddy's coming.

Oh, Enos. It's gotta be her.

- Oh, velvet ears!
- We're on guard duty, sheriff.

Don't give any back talk
to your superior officer.

I've gotta get Flash.

But listen, sheriff, I gotta
tell you what Luke told me..

Come on.

Come on.

- Where is she?
- Right over there.

Come on.

Come on, get her
out of there. Hurry up.

Hello, Maxine. Come on, buddy.

Okay. Good.

We'll get the money now.

Alright, let's go.

Get the door.

Now, in case y'all
weren't noticing..

That's old Flash, that's
chewing on Boss' collard pizza

with a sliced okra.

Them dognappers done
re-kidnapped Maxine.

Nice move, putting the
sheriff's dog in the cell.

As long as they think we
got possession of Maxine

they ain't gonna be looking
for us. Come on, let's go.

Alright. I'm gonna see
how they're doing in there.

Mmm.

Rosco, Enos, I'm back.

Where are you two numskulls?

Where did you go?

Ah-h..

Well, at least you're
still here, Maxine.

Don't start in on
me like that, Maxine.

I already took enough sass

from Rosco's
flea-bitten hound, Flash.

Alright, Enos. This is it.

Sheriff, if you won't
listen to what Luke told me

remember what Mr. Hogg said?
We wasn't to leave the office.

Listen, Enos, Boss ain't
nothing but flab and bones.

Now, Flash, now, that's family.

Well, don't stand there.
Flash? Daddy's here!

- Over there!
- Here, Flash!

Terry Lee, why don't we
go for a walk together?

It might make you feel better.

Honey, aren't you
even gonna talk to me?

Bo and Luke said I'd have
the dog forever and ever.

They lied to me.

Let me see here now.

Boss thinks that he's
got the Hooper's dog.

And he ain't.

'Cause B.B. and
Mandy Jo have it.

Rosco ain't got no dog

because Boss does
and don't know it.

Terry Lee is out one dog.

The dognappers have
the dog that he loves.

And she ain't hissin'.
That's good now.

I think I got it straight.

'Well, this here's the place.'

'Should be somebody
here. Hello, anybody home?'

What do you two boys
think you're doing here now?

Hey, Boss, we thought
that you might wanna meet

Mr. and Mrs. John J.
Hooper from Chickasaw.

Oh.

Oh! Mr. and Mrs. Hooper!

Oh, how do you do?

Mrs. Hooper nice to meet you.

'And Mr. John J. Hooper,
how do you do, sir?'

I'm J.D. Hogg.

County Commissioner
of Hazzard County

And I've been
keeping real safe here..

Your sweet little old
$ , prize dog

who's been enjoying
all the comforts of home.

Mr. Hogg, what have
you done with, Maxine?

Huh?

- That is not Maxine, Mr. Hogg.
- What?

- Of course not, it's Flash.
- How you doin'?

- Flash, how you doin'?
- Oh, it ain't Flash.

It's got dark spots
behind the ears.

I'll get that.

'No dark spots.'

'I swear that I had
Maxine in that cell'

a while ago when I left.

How in the name of all
that's holy did she get out?

You know, I bet..

I bet it was 'em
dognappers came in

and switched Maxine for Flash.

What's this about dognappers?

It's a long story, Mr. Hooper.

You should go to the orphanage
and talk to our cousin Daisy.

'She'll fill you in.'

Mr. Hogg, if your men
don't get Maxine back

I'm holding you
legally responsible.

'Now, what you
gonna do about it?'

Find Maxine if we can.

That call was from a
couple whose car was stolen

where the dognappers
abandoned their van.

'I got the license number.
We can get right after them.'

We'll touch base
with you folks later.

'It'll take Luke and
I quite some time.'

Why don't you and Mrs.
Hooper go to the orphanage.

And see if you can get a
chance to meet Terry Lee?

- I was thinking the same.
- Come on, we've gotta go.

We'll give you directions
to the orphanage.

It's not hard to find.
We'll find that dog, Boss.

Oh, Boss, why
don't you call Rosco

and tell him that
Flash is alright?

Take a load off his mind.

How you figure we're
going to find 'em?

We gotta assume they'll take
the shortest way outta Hazzard.

That'll be route , I guess.

A head start they've got.
We best take the flats.

Now, the Flats is where
the young folks go to have

some fun and games
with their motorcycles.

The radiator! Damn
thing's gone again.

Wait a minute. So is Maxine.

It's gonna be easier
to fix the General

than it is to explain
it all to Terry Lee.

Hey, guys.

Come on out.

- Hey, Eddie.
- Hey, Eddie.

- Hi.
- Hey, Ed.

- How you doing?
- Alright.

We need some wheels.
We need 'em fast.

Well, hey, take ours.

Alright.

You got them CB things
in the helmets, huh?

- 'Sure do.'
- That's great.

Anything we can do?

Yeah, call Cooter Davenport.

See if he can come
out and fix the General.

Now wait a second.

I'll go to the General
and get the binoculars.

This is J.D. Hogg,
calling Rosco P. Coltrane.

Rosco, Flash is here
at the bookin' office.

'Come back, will you?
'Cause she's here now.'

Meanwhile, Boss was trying
to raise the sheriffs department.

But he wasn't doing any better
than Rosco and Enos were

trying to find Flash

who ain't missin' no more.

- Come here, darling.
- Here, Flash.

'We pulled it off,
honey. We did it.'

- Thanks to you.
- Thanks to me.

But there ain't much to outsmart
and pass the country hicks now.

- Yeah, that's right, you know.
- 'Uh-huh.'

- I can't see them anywhere.
- I can't either.

We should cut
over to Eagle Pass.

We can spot them from there.

' - .'

Terry Lee.

This is here, is
Mr. and Mrs. Hooper.

Hi, Terry Lee.

See, he's been like this
ever since he lost his dog.

You mean, since he lost ourdog?

John J., that's not fair.

Well, we couldn't have
children of our own

so my husband went to
home with the young'uns.

Nothing seems to be going
right for the good guys today.

'Yeah, Luke, that's
them down there.'

'We can't catch 'em unless we
go on the back of this mountain.'

'What are we
waiting for? Let's go.'

How are we gonna stop 'em?
They can run us off the road.

- But we ain't on road.
- What do you mean? The ridge?

You got it.

Luke, what do say we
drop in on 'em, huh?

'You got it.'

- Hey, who was that?
- How am I supposed to know?

'What? Another one?'

The whole thing was your idea.

I'm gettin' out.

- You alright?
- Yeah.

You stay put.

Hang on there.

You ain't going nowhere.

You ain't only slow,
you ain't too bright.

So them dognappers was
behind bars where they belong.

While Rosco was united
with his beloved Flash.

Oh, Flash.

You and I will never
be separated again.

You're just hairy..

- Hey, y'all.
- You found her.

- Look what we got here.
- You're back, you're back.

You'll never leave
me again, will you?

Listen, Terry Lee.

We've got to talk about this.

Yeah, uh... you see, Maxine...

Save your breath, boys.

Terry Lee's right.

He ain't never going to be
parted from that dog again.

Now like I said

dogs and kids
is a great leveler.

It leveled the Hoopers
so that come Christmas

the Hoopers got their dog back.

Of course they had to
adopt Terry Lee to do it.

Don't y'all just love a
Hazzard happy ending?
