In the criminal justice system,

sexually based offenses

are considered especially heinous.

In New York City,
the dedicated detectives


who investigate these vicious felonies

are members of an elite squad

known as the Special Victims Unit.

These are their stories.

[TENSE MUSIC]

Detective Frank Cosgrove.

I was with the girl when she was sh*t,

so I'm not going anywhere.

So we're thinking that
this girl's trafficked.

She ran away from her
abusive foster parent

more than a year ago.

And how long was Nicole
with Sam and Sirenko?

Just with Sam.

Nicole only saw Sirenko sometimes.

Sam she lived with for nine months.

Nicole, what can you tell me about

that morning on the yacht?

We were meeting Sirenko's friend.

Nicole doesn't have any names.

Ava was gonna take a walk

and he realized that

That's odd because
we never recovered a phone.

Then she must have lost it
when she was running.

So Ava must have been recording the sex.

This old man, he...

he realizes that she's recording...

He went crazy.

Then he ran after her,

and he grabbed her by the hair

and smashed her into the countertop.

And then Ava went and... and
grabbed a champagne bottle,

and she whacked him
in the face and then ran.

And I... I... I didn't know what to do.

The old guy ran after Sirenko
and started screaming at him

and telling him to...
to chase after her,

like she was gonna ruin everything.

What do you think that
he meant by that, everything?

I don't know.

I just started crying.

Of course you did.

And that's when Sirenko ran off the boat

and he chased after Ava.

[SUSPENSEFUL MUSIC]

Nicole,

is the man that you're
talking about here?

He chased after Ava.

All right, Sirenko's phone is on.

It's pinging from his house.

And anyone we find in Sirenko's

One of his associates
has already been arrested,

so he's probably expecting us.

Assume that he's armed
and willing to fight back.

That was ammonium nitrate, diesel fuel.

He's making an ANFO.

It's the same material used
in Oklahoma City.

It makes sense for Sirenko.

He just has no experience
with this kind of thing.

- He's not a bomber.

We recovered Sirenko's phone.

But the whole thing was wiped,
so we got no way to track him.

For all we know, he could
be long gone by now.

We're sure it was an IED?

a vehicle-borne IED.

That means gallon barrels
of expl*sive materials

and , pounds of expl*sive capacity.

It can take down a whole building.

There's a thousand things this could be.

We just don't know yet.
