Oh, Teddy, Teddy.

-What?

-Teddy, Teddy. I've got it!

Okay, let's pretend
that I'm a lost doggie.

I don't know my way home and

you find me.

-Oh oh,

I'll give you a
big hug and take you home.

-Okay. Let's
put on the costume. OK?

Wooof wooof wooof!

I can't find my way home!

Oh I'm lost.

-Oh! Hello, little lost dog!

-Oh hello.

I was just following
a butterfly and-

and now I can't
find my way home!

-Oh, well maybe
I can help you if I-

-I'll probably
never see my owner again

Oh, he was so nice to me.

I'll have no place
to live if I can't go home.

-Well I could probably-

-No one will care about me;
no one will notice me. Alone.

-You could come with me an-

-No more dog food,

only scraps,

stale banana peels.

I never liked them.

And one day... Oh.

-W-well yes, but I'm
right here and I can help.

-One day I'll be helpless
and homeless, a dog all alone.

People will kick me
when I sniff through garbage.

bleck!

And and, I'll never sleep.

No! I'll never sleep at the
foot of my owner's bed again.

-It's okay. It's okay. It's all
over. It's all over. Good puppy.

-Oh! But uh, I
was just getting started.

-I think next time,
I'll be the lost dog.

I'm gonna build
the biggest castle ever.

Done.

-Caillou was scared.

The dog sounded angry.

-Mommy Mommy!!

-Caillou, what's the matter?

-That doggy scared me.

-The next day, Caillou
was looking forward to going

to his Grandma's while
Mommy did some shopping.

-But Caillou and his
Mommy didn't know that Grandma

was looking after her
neighbour's puppy for the day.

-I have a special
friend staying with me.

Would you like to meet him?

-Yes, please.

Aaaaah.

-Caillou. Don't worry Caillou,
that's my special friend.

I really think
he'd like to meet you.

-Noooo.

-But Caillou, he's
only a little puppy.

Why don't you just come and see?

I promise he won't hurt you.

-Well...

OK.

-See, Caillou?
He's only a little puppy.

And he's very friendly.

-Y-yes, Grandma.

-Well, if you're
scared, why don't we shut

the door so
he can't get out, OK?

-Ok.

-Caillou was still a bit
nervous, even though he knew

the puppy was
safely in the kitchen.

-Aahh!

-Oh, honey, it's OK.

Hey! I have an idea.

Let's read a book about dogs.

-Caillou was enjoying
reading about dogs with Grandma.

And he was beginning
to be curious about that
little puppy in the kitchen.

-He's barking, Grandma...

-We'd better go see what
he wants, don't you think?

-Maybe he's hungry...

-Are you hungry?

Here's a treat.

Mmmm, you like that don't you?

-Caillou was
still a bit nervous.

But when he heard
his Grandma he decided he

really wanted to
see the little puppy again.

-What's so funny, Caillou?

-He looks like
one of Mommy's slippers.

-See, Caillou? He
wants to be your friend.

He's wagging his tail.
It means he's happy to see you.

-If you hold out
your hand he'll say hello.

-That tickles.

-I think you've made
a new friend, Caillou.

-Hi doggie.

-What do you know?

The puppy wasn't scary at all,

but friendly and fuzzy and fun.

-Get it boy.

Good boy.

Catch.

Shhh, look.

-Look mommy.
I like doggie's now.

Puppy? Puppy?

Here Puppy puppy puppy!

-Wooof! Wooof! Wooof! Wooof!

-Hmmm, Where is he?

Puppy?

No.

No puppy in there.

Puppy, where are you?

-Wooof! Wooof! Wooof!...

-Now if I were a
puppy, where would I be?

Puppy?

Here puppy puppy! Come here!

-Haarrrooooooow!

-That sounds like a
hound dog in need of a hug.

-Yeah yeah yeah yeah!

-I think someday we're going
to have to have hug lessons.

It's a good thing a teddy
bear is full of stuffing.

-Teddy, I just
love being a puppy!

♪If you had a puppy,

♪would you give him your lo-ove?

♪Would you go for long walks,

♪on a cold winter day?

♪Would you feed
him and brush him?

♪Would you play fetch with him?

♪If you had a pu-uppy,
how would you play?

Okay Caillou, remember
what I told you.

Keep your eyes on the ball.

-I got it!

-That's okay.
Just take your time.

-Hey!

Gimme my ball!

Daddy help! He's got my ball!

-Ha ha ha, gotcha!

He has a collar so
he must belong to someone.

Well we've looked
a long time and no one seems
to know whose dog this is.

-He's all alone?

-He must be lost.

He's a scruffy
little guy isn't he?

-Scruffy?

We could call him Scruffy!

Oh could I keep
him Daddy? Pleeeease!

-I'm sorry Caillou,
but this dog probably

belongs to someone
who misses him very much.

-Huh?

-I'll tell you
what though. We can help
find his owner. How's that?

-Okay.

-Caillou was sad. He wanted
to keep the dog all to himself.

-Hello? Anybody home?

-Who's this?

-I found him!
His name is Scruffy!

-He was lost in the park.

I thought we could
help find his owner.

-Hmmm.

-Scruffy no! Stop!

-Doggie!

-What a mess!

Why don't you two take
him outside and clean him up.

-Time to rinse him off.

-Ahhh!

-Look out!

-It was time to
look for Scruffy's owner

so Daddy decided to take
his picture to put on a poster.

-Smile Scruffy!

-Perfect!

Now we just have
to make copies and buy some
dog food on our way home.

-What if no one calls
Daddy? Can I keep him?

-We'll see. Taking
care of a dog is a big job.

-Hello?

Yes. Uh huh.

That's him.

Great. See you then.

That was Scruffy's owner.

She saw your poster and
is coming over to pick him up.

-Rocky!

-She's been so
sad since we lost Rocky.

I'm so glad you found him!

-It was Caillou who
found him. Right Caillou?

-Do you have a dog?

-No, but I have a
cat. His name is Gilbert.

-Really?

You're lucky, I wanted a
cat too but my dad is allergic.

-Time to go sweetie!

-I'm so happy you found him!

Thanks for taking
care of Rocky for me!

-Even though Caillou was
sad that Scruffy was leaving

he was very proud
that he had helped!

-Bye!

-Gilbert!

Dion's got a new puppy.

Snuggles.

He's so lucky.

I think Snuggles likes to play.

Here boy!

Good boy!

Puppies are fun to play with,

but you also have
to take good care of them.

They need lots
good food and water.

Here boy. Good boy.

Snuggles sure likes that.

But I prefer hamburgers.

-Yeah, me too.

Snuggles. Snuggles,
look what I got.

-A hairbrush?

-Yeah.

It's important to keep
your puppy brushed and clean.

-Come here.

You have to
teach your puppy too.

-Stay.

-I'm not sure Snuggles
feels like learning right now.

-Sit.

Stand up.

Stand up Snuggles.

Stand up.

-Most important is that
puppies love to be loved.

-I think puppies like slippers.

-Uh huh. Puppies love to play
with anything they can chew on.

-Right.

-Ready Rexy?

-Wooof wooof!

-Oh good boy.
Good boy! Here we are.

-Again Teddy, again!

-Go fetch it!

-Good throw Teddy. Good throw!

-Oh my!

Dinosaurs and dogs
have something in common.

They both love chasing sticks.

Not a teddy bear thing to do.

Teddies are a
little less energetic.

-Wooof! Wooof! Wooof!...

-Easy boy! Easy boy!

It's okay. It's okay.

Woah!

Woah woah woah!

Oh my! Dinosaurs really
love play-acting, don't they?

Caillou and his
Mommy were on their way
to play ball in the park.

-What's that?

-You've heard
that before, remember?

-I know. It's to tell
us when it's safe to cross.

-Excuse me.

I'm looking for the Dog Run.

-I know where it is!

-You do? Where?

-The park is just over
there. You can't miss it.

-Thank you!

-Every time Caillou
went to the park he liked to

look at the map and
decide which way to go.

-I want to go this way!

-Okay.

-Ahhhh!

-Huh?

-It's Okay. Don't
worry, they won't bite you!

-You have two dogs?

-Oh, no. I'm a dog
walker! That's my job.

-Caillou thought being a dog
walker sounded like a great job.

-I'm taking these
guys to the Dog Run.

-It's here!

I'm going there!

-Maybe we'll see you later.

Hold still, guys!

-Is there anything
we can do to help?

-I don't think so!

-That was pretty
funny, wasn't it?

-Coming through!

-Huh?

Wow!

-Neat, huh?

His name is Dylan.

He can shake hands!

-Hi, Dylan, I'm Caillou!

-Why don't you
throw that for him?

He's pretty good
at catching balls, too.

-Oooof!

Yeah! Dylan!

-Here you go.

-Ugh!

-Pretty gross, huh?

-I think you'd better
wipe it with this, honey.

-Okay.

-A little farther
on, Caillou's Mommy

met an old friend
of hers named Barbara.

-and you must be Caillou!

-I like your dog!

-His name is Maxwell.

-Hi, Maxwell!

Can I play with him?

-You can pet him.

-Will he bring my ball back?

-I'm sorry, Caillou, but I can't
let him play ball with you.

-Ah?

-Maxwell is a very special
dog. He has work to do.

-Work?

-Yes. He helps me.

-What does he do?

-Well Caillou, I'm blind
and Maxwell is my guide dog.

-Blind?

-My friend Barbara can't see.

-Ah?

-So Maxwell's
job is to see for me.

-Caillou was
surprised to learn that

dogs had jobs to
do - just like grown-ups.

-Would you like
to see how he helps me?

-Barbara is blind, remember?

That means she can't
see you nodding your head.

-So if you would
like to see how Maxwell

does his job,
you have to tell me.

-Okay. Yes.

Yes, please!

-This is Maxwell's harness.

I hold onto it, and
he leads me everywhere.

-Caillou loved
seeing how Maxwell showed
Barbara which way to go.

-What's Maxwell
doing now, Caillou?

-He's sitting.

-When he sits down he's telling
me it's not safe to walk.

-Wow.

-Hey! Come back here!

-Stop! Please come back!

-Caillou discovered
that Maxwell was a smart dog,

a very smart dog.

Caillou knew that sound meant
it was safe to cross the street.

-We can go!

-but Maxwell
knew it wasn't completely
safe to cross just yet.

-Ah!

-Good boy, Maxwell.

-Good boy, Maxwell! Way to go!

Dogs sure run fast.

-They love to run.

-They love chasing
balls and sticks too.

-And they even
love to go for a walk.

-Dogs play ball.

-Come!

-Peanut can dance.

-And Spirit is
good at shaking paws.

And everybody
loves to be patted.

♪Be good to your pu-uppy,
be good to your pu-uppy,

♪and he'll love you

♪He'll walk right beside you,

♪He'll lick you and cu-ddle.

Ugh!

It's the puppy.

-Caillou had met this
cute little dog before.

-Hello, Caillou.

I'm looking after
this little fellow again.

He wanted to visit
his friend, Caillou.

Would you like
to walk the dog with me?

-Ummm.

-Sure.

-Yippee.

Could I walk him?

-Of course.

-Look, Grandma,
he's sitting down.

-He's waiting for you
to tell him to cross the street.

Say "walk" when it's time to go.

-Walk.

-Caillou loved it when the
little dog obeyed his orders.

-Bow-wow-wow-wow-wow.

-Look what I brought for you.

-He wants to play.

-Throw the ball
and tell him fetch.

He'll bring
it right back to you.

-Fetch.

He did it.

-Tell him drop it.

-Drop it.

Wow!

Fetch.

-Caillou had a wonderful
afternoon at the park

playing with
the little white dog.

-Woof!

Daddy, you know what
I really, really want?

-What, Caillou?

-I want a little white dog.

-He's very cute, isn't he?

But you know, Caillou,
we already have a pet.

We have Gilbert.

-But I want a dog.
A dog that I can walk.

-Maybe when you
and Rosie are a bit older,

we could think
about getting a dog.

Good night.

-Good night, Daddy.

-Caillou didn't want
to wait until he was older.

He wanted to get a dog now.

When
Caillou found his toy dog the
next morning, he got an idea.

-This can be your leash.

Mommy. Daddy. Come see.

-What is it?

-A surprise.

Look.

Bow-wow-wow-wow-wow.

-Doggie. Walk.

-And now Caillou
had a dog of his own that
he could walk every day.

-Oh Teddy, let's pretend the sun
comes up and the dogs wake up.

It's a new day.

Oh!

The little dog
looks out the window.

-And the big dog
looks out the window.

-Uh huh.

And the little
dog sees a squirrel.

-Oh oh oh! And the
big dog sees a squirrel.

-Dogs really like to bark
at squirrels, don't they, Teddy?

-Oh oh yes they do.

Woof!

Arf!

Woof!

Grrr!

-Dogs?

-Woof!

-Howl!

-On my property?

-Woof, woof! Arf!...

-Hi, Gilbert.

-I hate dogs!

-We were just playing.

-Well why don't you play cats?

They're purrfectly wonderful.

-Well because we
have the best cat in the

whole wide world
to play with right here.

-Well... well I guess if I had
to spend some time with dogs,

you two would be the best!

-Arf. Woof. Arf. Bark!
