- ♪ Hey
- What?

- ♪ Come over here

♪ The Cat in the Hat
is about to appear ♪

♪ He's whizzing over
to whisk you away ♪

♪ On a fabulous journey
today ♪

- He's coming!
- ♪ Now he's arrived

♪ In the Thinga-ma-jigger,
the thing that he drives ♪

♪ He's a cat
and he's oodles of fun ♪

♪ With his hairy helpers,
Thing Two and Thing One ♪

- Whoo-hoo!



- Whoa!



[laughter]



- Whoa!
- Wahoo!

- ♪ It's the Cat in the Hat

♪ All of our adventures
start like that ♪

♪ Wherever you're going,
wherever you're at ♪

♪ The Cat in the Hat
knows a lot about... ♪

- ♪ He knows a lot about,
he knows a lot about ♪

all: ♪ He knows a lot
about that ♪

[laughter]

- Wow, our train looks great.

- I know!

These cotton balls
look just like smoke.

- And the pipe cleaners
are perfect for the pistons.

- And the buttons
make it look really real.

You'd never know it was made of
stuff from our craft bin.

Oops!
I missed a spot.

- [sniffs]

Why do I keep smelling...

[sniffs]

pickles?

- It's these markers
Mom got me.

They each have
a different smell.

Green smells like pickles.

- It sure does.

- There.

Now our train is perfect.

- All aboard
the Pickle Express!

- Whoo-whoo!

- [laughs]

Uh, Nick, why is there a string
where the handle should be?

- The handle broke,
and I found that string

in the craft bin
to pull the train.

- Okay, we'll give it a try.

- Whoo-whoo!

- Chugga-chugga,
chugga-chugga, chugga.

[grunts, string snaps]

Aww.

The train's too heavy

for that little string.

- Do we have anything stronger,
like, uh, a rope?

- Let's check the craft bin.

Hmm.

Felt, buttons,

pipe cleaners...

- And this string
that isn't strong enough.

- So how are we going to
pull our train?

- Wait!
Hold that train!

I'm coming!

[panting]

Did I miss it?

- Hardly.

The Pickle Express

can't get
out of the station.

- Our pull string broke.

And we don't have
a stronger one.

- We need a rope.

- That's it.

We can go to Rope Mania.

- Rope Mania?

That sounds exactly

like the right place to go.

- Your mother won't mind at all
if you do.

- Mom!

We need a rope
to pull a train.

Can we go find one in Rope
Mania with Cat in the Hat?

- Sure, honey.

Rope Mania?

Sounds like the perfect place

to keep your train project
on track.

- We can go!
We can go!

- I know!
I know!

To the Thinga-ma-jigger!

- Whoa!

Our train needs
a little more decorating.

I think I'll stay here
and work on it.

- Okay, Fish.

- We'll be back
before you can say

"Whoo-ooh-whoo!"

[laughs]

Buckle up!

[horn honks]

[playful music]

[whirs, clicks]

Flip the Jigger-ma-whizzer!

[boing]

[exciting music]



Isn't this fun?

both: Whoo-hoo!

- ♪ Here we go, go, go,
go on an adventure ♪

♪ The Thinga-ma-jigger
is up and away ♪

both: ♪ Go, go, go,
go on an adventure ♪

[sproing]

- What was that?

- I've never heard
the Thinga-ma-jigger

go "sproing" before.

- Me neither.

But I'm sure it will be
just fine.

[laughs]

[Thinga-ma-jigger pops]

[laughter]

[Thinga-ma-jigger popping,
all laughing]

- Whoa!

[laughter]

- This is so much fun!

- Hmm.

Hmm.

Hmm.
Ooh!

Aha!

I know just what it needs.

Oh, I am one clever fish.

Take one of these
and one of these--

[confetti shrieks]

- Whoa!

- That was fun.

- Hmm.

This is unusual
even for the Thinga-ma-jigger.

Maybe we should land and--

[Thinga-ma-jigger pops]

both: Whoa!
- Hmm.

The weather report didn't say
anything about confetti.

- Is this Rope Mania?

- I don't think so.

Hmm.

Now, let's see
what's going on in here.

Ha-ha!

Well, here's the problem.

The Thinga-ma-jigger's
blown its stringa-ma-jigger.

The string's the thing
that will give us some zing.

[grunts]

Whoa!

Without a new piece of string,
we're stranded!

- [sighs]

We have lots of string

back at home in the craft bin.

- Well, maybe we can find some
around here?

- That's the spirit.

Search party!

- What are these?

- Why, sleds, of course.

Race you to the bottom!

Both: Wait for us!

[laughter]

[all laughing and cheering]

- We're coming!

[all cheering]

- Whoopee!

[all cheering]

Yahoo!

[crash]

[both laugh]

- Where to now?

- Maybe the giant caterpillar
can help.

- I don't think
it's a caterpillar, Cat.

It's more like
a long, yellow, bristly...

Bridge?

- Why, I think you're right.

Ah!
Clever.

And you know, there's only one
thing to do with a bridge.

- [laughs]

both: Cross it!

- After you!

[all laughing and exclaiming]

[all laughing]

- That bridge
reminds me of something.

But I don't know what.

- Oh, well, it's not string.
That's for sure.

- Let's keep looking.

What a lovely forest.

- I don't think
these are trees, Cat.

- But if we could climb them,

we could see
what's around here.

But they're too smooth.

- Ah!
No problem.

When climbing is something
that needs to be done,

you can always rely
on Thing Two and Thing One.

[whistles]

[both chattering indistinctly]

both: Hello!

- Hello.

Would you be so kind
as to climb up

and look around
for something stringy?

- Uh-huh.
- Uh-huh.

[both laughing]

[both chattering indistinctly]

One, two, three, four.

[both chattering indistinctly]

♪ Ta-da!

Huh?

- There.

A perfect pickle
for the Pickle Express.

- Do you see anything?

[both chattering indistinctly]

- A pickle on a train?

What are you talking about?

[both chattering indistinctly]

[loud creaking]

Uh-oh.

[loud thud]

Whew!
[loud rumbling]

[both yelp]

- Avalanche!

[both chattering indistinctly]

[both laugh]

- Perfection.

I think I'm done.

- Whew!
That was close!

[marker whistles]

[loud thudding]

[heavy sliding]

- [sniffs]

I know that smell.

Both: Pickles!

- That's Sally's green marker.

But how did it get here?

- And how did it get so big?

Maybe it didn't get big.

Maybe we got small!

And maybe we're all inside...

- The...
Both: Craft bin!

- Aha.

When the Thinga-ma-jigger
went "sprang,"

it must have activated
the Shrinkamadoodle

and shrunk us so small
we could fit in the craft bin.

- [gasps]
Nick!

If we're in the craft bin,

that means we do have string!

And I think I see it.

Come on!

It's bigger than it used to be.

I don't think it'll fit
in the Thinga-ma-jigger.

- Look how the string is made
up of lots of little strings

all twisted together.

- Oh!

Maybe we can use
one of the little strings

to fix the Thinga-ma-jigger.

- How clever!

That just might work.

Allow me.

[grunting]

Nope!

Not working.

- Maybe if we all
pulled together.

[all grunting]

[string snaps, all thud]

- [gasps]
We did it!

[all cheer]
- We did it!

Wind it round here
and tie a knot,

double-bowsies, and...

done!

[laughs]

All fixed!

Next stop, the backyard.

It's a very short flight.

- Time to go!

- Home sweet home,
here we come!

- Ooh, I can't wait to show
them my pickle surprise.

When are they coming back
with that rope?

- Hit the dinga-ma-boodle.

[boing]

[Thinga-ma-jigger pops]

[both cheering]

- Ooh, you're back!

I can't wait to show you
what I--

- Here's the bouncy bridge.

- Uh, that's a pipe cleaner.

- And here's our avalanche!

- [laughs]

- Ahem.

You haven't even noticed

what I added to our train.

- [gasps]
It's a perfect pickle, Fish.

- You're welcome.

Now, attach that new rope,

and let's get
the Pickle Express going!

- Ooh, we didn't get one.

- All we got is this string
that isn't strong enough.

- Hmm.

What to do?
What to do?

- Unless...[gasps]

We know this string
is made up of

a bunch of smaller ones
all twisted together.

- And that makes it stronger
than they are by themselves.

- So if we want to
make this string stronger...

- We just add more strings.

- Oh, aren't you clever?

- Good thing my mom
taught me how to braid.

This one goes here,
and then cross that--

- Sally's a great braider.

I've seen her
braid her doll's hair.

Fancy.

- This one just has
to be strong enough.

And...

Done!

- Let's go find out
if it works.

All right, let's go!

- The Pickle Express is ready.

All aboard!

[both laugh]

- [grunts]

- It didn't break!

- Braiding three pieces
of string together

made the rope stronger.

- Well, what do you know?

We had a rope all along.

We made small things team up to
make something more strong.

- [laughing] Whoo!
- [laughing] Yeah!

- Chugga-chugga,
chugga-chugga, chugga!

- Whoo-whoo!

- [grunting]

[sighs]

[lively music]

- ♪ If you got
a trunk to move ♪

♪ But find it's hard to do

♪ Sometimes you can lift it

♪ When there's more than
one of you ♪

Here's what I was told
when I was knee-high to a toad.

That's a crazy hat.

- [laughter]

It's pretty silly.

Your turn.

- Do I look like a hockey star?

- [laughs]
Not exactly.

- Take a look in the mirror.

- [laughter]

- [gasps]
Look!

Hello, little bird!

- It's a robin.

- What are you doing?

Aww.

I scared it away.

- It had a twig in its beak.

I bet it's building a nest
in our tree.

- Let's go see!

Shh!

[gasps]

It is building a nest.

- That's so awesome!

- Oh, no!

We scared it again.

How cool would it be to watch
it build its nest?

- But if you get too close,
you'll scare it again.

- [sighs]

I wish there was a way
to see the robin

without scaring it.

- There's a nest?

- Cat?

- How exciting!

- Hi, Cat.

I really want to
watch the nest

and see if the robin
lays eggs.

- But if the robin sees us,
we'll scare it away.

- Hmm.

I know a lot about
birdwatching.

But watching a bird without
being watched by the bird,

ah, that's something
I haven't seen.

When we're talking
about seeing things,

perhaps we'll
see them differently

in the Hall of Mirrors.

- If that's where we have to go
to find out, I'm in.

- Your mother won't mind at all
if you do.

- Mom, can we go
to the Hall of Mirrors

with the Cat in the Hat

to find out how to watch
the robin build its nest?

- The Hall of Mirrors?
Absolutely.

Sounds like a perfect place to
see what you can see.

- We can go!
We can go!

- I know!
I know!

To the Thinga-ma-jigger!

Buckle up!

[horn honks]

[playful music]

[whirs, clicks]

[boing]

with the Cat in the Hat today ♪



- When you want to see
all that's around you to see,

the Great Hall of Mirrors
is the place to be!

Both: Wow!

- Look at all these mirrors.

- Hi, Nick and Sally.

[both laugh]

- Hmm.

Who? What? Me?
[laughs]

Now, this is
an excellent reflection.

Don't you think, Fish?

- Where? I can't see me.

- [yelps]
I'm sorry.

You should have your own
mirror.

Here you go.

- Ooh-ooh.

There's one, two, three of me.

Hmm-hmm.
[laughs]

- Does this mirror
make my hat look taller?

[both laugh]

- This is fun.

But how's it gonna help us see
the robin's nest?

- Hmm.

- [gasps]
Hey!

Maybe there's an answer
down one of these halls.

- Let's see what we can see.

Walk this way.

[both laugh]

- Huh.

No matter which way
I look at me,

I look good.

- Mirror, mirror,
in this place,

who can make the silliest face?

- I can!

[babbles]

[laughs]

- No, me!
I can.

[strained voice]
You looking at me?

[laughs]

- [groans]

[both laugh]

- You win, Cat.

- [laughs]

Let's check the next room.

Hmm.

It's a big decision.

Let's see what's up this way.

- I still don't understand

why we're here
with all these mirrors.

- All we want to do
is watch the robin in its nest.

Whoa!

What happened to me?

- Yikes!

[laughs]

I don't look this weird
in the other mirror.

What makes them different?

- Perhaps we should take
a closer look.

- Okay, Cat.

But as soon as
we figure it out...

- We'll try to find out how
to see your bird's nest, deal?

- Deal.

[hand squeaking]

This mirror is kind of bendy.

- Bendy, huh?

- This mirror
isn't bendy at all.

It's totally flat.

- Totally flat, huh?

- So maybe all the mirrors that
make us look funny are bendy.

- Let's check them out.

[laughs]

This mirror's bendy,

and it makes me look silly.

- I'm all stretchy, so that
means it's really bendy.

- [laughs]

Super bendy.

[laughs]

Huh.

The only mirrors
that make us look normal

are the flat ones.

- And the bendy mirrors make us
look funny and weird.

- You figured it out.

- Wahoo!

Way to go, Nick!

Way to go, Cat.

Way to go, Fish.

Fish?

- Where is Fish?

Both: I thought you had him.

- Aww, we came here to find out
how to watch birds,

but we forgot
to watch Fish.

- We'll find him.

- Which way did we come from?

I can't tell which door
is which.

- When you can't quite remember
the door you came through,

that's the time
you should call on

Thing One and Thing Two.

[whistles]

[both chatter indistinctly]

both: Oh!

[both chattering indistinctly]

- [whistles]

Come on, Things!

[both chatter indistinctly]

- Hi, Things.

Oh, bye, Things.

[both chatter indistinctly]

both: Huh?

Uh-oh.

[both chatter indistinctly]

[both yelp]

- Well, fancy
bumping into you here.

- Did you see Fish on your way?

Both: Uh-huh, uh-huh, uh-huh.

- Great.

Where is he?

[both chatter indistinctly]

- You don't remember?

Both: Uh-uh.

- Not to worry.

We'll search to the left;
we'll search to the right.

We'll find our friend Fish
if it takes us all night.

Forward, march!

- Which way should we go?

- Let's see what's up this way.

- Maybe it's not Fish
that's lost.

Maybe it's us.

[both chatter indistinctly]

- Come on, Things.

We need to find Fish.

[both chatter indistinctly]

- [laughs]

[both chatter indistinctly]

- This way, Things.

[both chatter indistinctly]

[both yelp, moan]

[both gasp]

- Are you okay, Things?

Both: Uh-huh.

- I wonder why
they ran into the mirror

instead of
turning the corner.

Didn't you see yourselves?

- You saw Cat?

- Hmm.

Why do I see down that hall
instead of seeing myself?

- Interesting.

- Interesting, indeed.

- What makes this mirror
different?

- It's not a bendy mirror.

- And it's not facing you.

It's turned a little.

- You're right.
It's on an angle.

- Hmm.

On an angle?

Step back a bit, Nick.

Hey!

I see you, but I don't see me.

- I can see you too,
but I don't see me.

- It must be because
it's on an angle.

- That's cool.

But we still don't know

how we're going to find Fish.

- Well, he's gotta be
down one of these halls.

- But how do you find
the right one?

We keep getting lost.

- That is a problem.

- Wait a minute.

- I think Nick has an idea.

- [gasps]

There's another mirror

at the end of this hall!

Can you still see me?

- Sure can.

- There's another hall

and another mirror
down this way!

Cat, can you come here?

- [gasps]

I know what you're doing.

I'll stay here
so we don't get lost.

- You wait here.

- I can still see you, Cat.

- I can still see you, Sally.

And I can see you too, Nick.

- I can see around
the next corner,

and I see a...

[gasps]

Fish!

Yay!

It's Fish!
It's really Fish!

- Hello, Nick.

- I found Fish!

- Hey, Sally!

He found Fish.

- We're on our way!

[both chatter indistinctly]

- This is so exciting,
isn't it, Fish?

- It would be if I knew
what they were doing.

- Presenting the Around the
Corner Robin Watcher.

- Around the Corner
Robin Watcher?

What's that?

- We got the idea
from the Hall of Mirrors.

We could see around the corner

because the mirror
was on an angle.

- So since the bird's nest
is around this corner,

we just have to change
the angle of the mirror

until we can see...

[all exclaim]

- Oh, it's so cute!

- It works.

- Now you can
watch the nest all day

without scaring
the robin away.

[laughs]

Very clever.

[robin singing]
