Teddy: and me!
Rexy: and me!

Gilbert: and me!

[Caillou chuckling]

Caillou: daddy, sarah's riding
her bike.

Can we go for a bike ride, too?

Dad: I don't see why not.

It's a great day for biking.

Hmm, let's see, now.

Are the tires full?

Caillou: yes!

Dad: chain oiled?

Caillou: yup!

Dad: are the brakes working?

Caillou: uh-huh!

Mommy,

We're going bike riding!

Mom: that's great.
We're going shopping.

Rosie: bye-bye.
Mom: see you soon!

Caillou: bye!
Dad: have fun!

Leo: hi, caillou.

Look at my new bike!

Hi, leo!

Narrator: caillou was very
impressed with leo's new bike.

Leo: it has a special flag
and streamers. See?

Caillou: can I have a turn?

Leo: no! It's my new bike!

Leo's mom: I'm sure caillou
would let you ride his bike

If you asked him.

[Rings bell]

Caillou: that was fun!

Thank you, leo.

Leo's mom:
well, it's time to go now.

Bye!

Leo: bye!

Narrator: caillou wished
his bike was as nice as leo's.

Dad: you know, if we clean our
bikes, they'll look good as new.

Here you go, caillou.

Caillou:
hee hee! Ha ha! That tickles.

Dad: wow! They look
brand-new, don't you think?

Caillou: yeah, leo has a flag

And steamers.

Dad: yes, those
are called streamers.

Caillou: streamers!

Dad: hmm. When I was your
age, I used to decorate my bike.

Would you like to decorate
your bike, caillou?

Caillou: yes!

Dad: how about some red yarn?

Caillou: green, too, ok, daddy?

[Meow!]

See? Gilbert likes it, too.

How about these cards, daddy?

Dad: they're perfect.

And that will make
a perfect flag.

Stand back.

Caillou: hee hee! That's funny!

Narrator: caillou liked
decorating the bike.

He was having a lot of fun.

Caillou: yay! The flag!

Mom: wow! Your bikes look nice.

Caillou: I cleaned mine!

Mom: I can see that.

It's just missing one thing.

[Honk! Honk!]

Caillou: wow!

Narrator: now caillou
felt proud of his bike.

Caillou: leo, come see my bike!

Can we go for a ride now?

Whee!

Ha ha ha!

[Honk! Honk!]

[Meow!]

Rexy: hee hee!

Teddy: rexy...

Lunchtime!

Gilbert: well, that's strange.
He was out here a second ago.

Rexy: in here!

Teddy: did you hear that?

Gilbert: it sounded like rexy
saying "in here."

Oh, look at this. Hmm.

Rexy: hee hee!

Gotcha!

Gilbert: oh! Oh, my!

That's a silly game.
What are you doing?

Rexy: well, I found these boxes,

And I wanted to play
a game with them,

But I can't figure out
what to do.

Teddy: oh. That's easy.

Pretend it's a train.

Rexy: oh, oh, oh,
teddy, that's a brilliant idea.

Come on. All aboard!

Teddy: come on, gilbert.
It'll be fun. You'll see.

We can make it a singing train.

Gilbert: oh, well, all right.
But make it quick. I'm hungry.

Rexy: here we go!

Teddy: ♪ have you ever been
on a singing train? ♪

♪ I was once, and I'd go again ♪

♪ I know most trains
just roll along ♪

♪ But this one sang
"the silly train song" ♪

[Train whistle toots]

♪ The machine started
with a bang-bang ♪

♪ Then the brass bell
rang out clang-clang-clang ♪

♪ The wheels went "chugga"
as they rolled along ♪

♪ The whistle went "toot,"
that's "the silly train song" ♪

♪ It goes ♪

Rexy and teddy:
♪ bang-bang, toot-toot ♪

♪ Chugga-chugga, clang-clang ♪

♪ Bang-bang, toot-toot,
chugga-chugga, clang-clang ♪

[Train whistle blows]

Rexy: so, here we are
back in time for lunch.

Gilbert: yes! Ha ha!

Narrator: caillou was excited.

He was going to his
friend clementine's house

To play with her.

Caillou: ok. Bye!

Clementine's mommy
wants to talk to you.

Mom: hi!

[Kids laughing]

No, no, that's not a problem.

I'll drop rosie off
and then drive caillou over.

All right, bye.

Caillou: can we go
to clementine's now, mommy?

Mom: as soon as I finish
writing my letter, ok?

Narrator:
caillou was disappointed.

He didn't like waiting.

Rosie: caillou!

Caillou: gilbert!

Rosie: ha ha ha!

Dad: see you later honey.
I've got to get going.

Mom: are you taking the car?

Dad: yes.

Mom: can you drop caillou
off at clementine's?

Dad: well, sorry. It's too
far out of my way. I'd be late.

Mom: can you
drop rosie at grandma's?

Dad: well, yes, but we
have to leave right away.

Rosie: whee!

Bye-bye!

Mom: bye, rosie!

Caillou: who's going to
take me to clementine's house?

Mom: you and I are
gonna take the subway

To go to clementine's.

Caillou: what's a subway?

Mom: the subway is like a train,

But it goes in a tunnel
under the ground.

Narrator: caillou had been
on a train before,

And he liked trains a lot.

Mom: hold on to mommy's hand

When we go down
the escalator, ok, caillou?

Caillou: ok.

Narrator: caillou liked
the escalator.

It did all the moving.

All they had to do
was just stand there.

[Guitar music]

Mom: ready?

Jump!

Caillou: whoa!

Ha ha!

Oh!

Mommy, can I do that, too?

Can I have some money, please!

Mom: ok.

Let me see if I can find some.

Caillou: thank you!

Narrator: it was as though
the lady was playing her music

Just for caillou.

Caillou:
I'm going on the subway.

Man: well, then you're going
to need a ticket, aren't you?

Caillou: look, mommy!

It's stuck!

Mom: maybe your ticket
can get it unstuck.

Caillou: ah!

Mommy, my ticket's gone.

Mom: and is
the metal bar still stuck?

Caillou: no.

Look! I got another ticket!

Mom: you can keep that
ticket as a souvenir, caillou.

Caillou: yay!

Narrator: caillou was
so impressed with the turnstile

That he wanted to try it again.

Caillou: I want to go again!

Mom: you need a new ticket
each time you go through.

Caillou: hee hee hee!

I'll do it.

Here, mommy.

Mom: why don't you hold
on to it for me?

Caillou: ok.

Narrator: caillou was
enjoying himself.

He liked this underground
train station.

Mommy showed caillou
the map of the subway.

It showed all
the places the train went.

Caillou:
where are we, mommy?

Mom: we're here.

And that's where we're going.

Caillou:
one dot, two dots, three dots.

Look, mommy. Little maps.

Mom: you can take one
and keep it, caillou.

Caillou: can I take one
for clementine, too?

Mom: I think
that's a great idea.

Narrator: caillou was
impressed with all the presents

He was getting
at the underground station.

Mom: we have to stay
behind this yellow line

Until the train comes.

Announcer:
your attention, please.

Green line train arriving
on platform seven.

Narrator: caillou thought
that the person making

The loud announcement
must be very tall.

Caillou: mommy!

Mom: it's ok, caillou!

That hot wind means
the train is coming.

Do you hear it?

Caillou: uh-huh!

Narrator: caillou found
the noise and rush

Of the incoming train
a little frightening.

Caillou's fears disappeared

When he saw the brightly
colored trains.

Caillou: one stop.

I want to sit there.

Mom: caillou, you have to wait

Until the train stops before
switching seats, sweetie.

Caillou: look at me, mommy.

Look at me. I'm going backwards!

Mom: and I'm going sideways.

Caillou: hee hee!

Two stops!

Narrator: caillou thought
that the subway was pretty neat.

Clementine's mom: hello.

Caillou: hi, clementine.
We came on the subway.

Mom: hi, clementine

Clementine's mom:
hi. Come on in.

[Kids laughing]

Clementine's mom: I can
drive you and caillou back home

If you like.

Caillou: mommy, please.

I want to go
on the subway again.

Mom: I guess
we'll take the subway home.

Caillou: let's go, mommy.

Mom: we just got here.

Don't you want
to play with clementine?

Caillou: oh! Hee hee!

These are for you, clementine.

You want to play subway train?

Clementine: ok.

Caillou: the map shows the dot
where we got on the subway.

Want to see it?

Right there.

This way.

Narrator: caillou
liked the subway so much,

He wanted to travel
on it all the time.

Girl: let's sing a song
about machines. Come on!

[Sound of engine starting]

Kids: ♪ machines
go clang-clang-clang ♪

Child: ♪ then we wiggle
and we giggle, come along ♪

Kids: ♪ machines go
boom-boom-boom ♪

Different child:
♪ then we wiggle and we giggle ♪

♪ Zoom-zoom ♪

Kids: ♪ pretend we're in a car,
now here's what we do ♪

♪ We take the steering wheel
and run around the room ♪

♪ Don't forget to say
"beep-beep, vroom-vroom" ♪

♪ And wave to our friends
as we go to the zoo ♪

♪ Machines
go clang-clang-clang! ♪

Child: ♪ then we wiggle
and we giggle, come along ♪

Kids:
♪ machines go boom-boom-boom ♪

Different child:
♪ then we wiggle and we giggle ♪

♪ Zoom-zoom ♪

Kids: ♪ let's work on
a train, now here's what we do ♪

♪ We pull our hand down
and say "whoo-whoo!" ♪

♪ Look at us go as we
shuffle down the track ♪

♪ With the engine at
the front and the caboose ♪

♪ At the back ♪

♪ Machines go
clang-clang-clang! ♪

Child: ♪ then we wiggle
and we giggle, come along ♪

Kids: ♪ machines go
boom-boom-boom ♪

Different child:
♪ then we wiggle and we giggle ♪

♪ Zoom-zoom ♪

Kids: ♪ machines go
clang-clang-clang! ♪

Different child: ♪ then we
wiggle and we giggle ♪

♪ Zoom, zoom ♪

Kids: ♪ machines! ♪

Caillou: look at the big truck.

It went in there!

What's in there, mommy?

Mom: you'll see
in just a second.

There's a hole in
the fence for looking through.

Caillou: I can't see!

Pick me up!

Mom: "please."

Caillou: please, mommy.

Wow!

A bulldozer!

Narrator: the powerful bulldozer
was fascinating for caillou.

It must have been very
strong to move all that dirt.

Caillou: when I grow up, I'm
going to drive a big bulldozer.

Mom: then I can watch you
through the hole in the fence.

[Laughter]

It's time for us to
go home now, honey.

Daddy's waiting for us.

Narrator: caillou
didn't want to leave.

Caillou: no, mommy.
I want to watch some more.

Mom: ok, caillou.
Put on your seat belt.

Airplane coming in
for a landing.

Caillou: vroom!

I'm a flying bulldozer.

Mom: are you bulldozing
the clouds?

Caillou: brrrrmmm!

Mom: wait for me, mr. Bulldozer!

Caillou: brrrrmmm!

Dad: hi, caillou.

Caillou: I'm not caillou.

I'm a bulldozer!

Narrator: caillou
figured out how he could

Turn himself
into a real bulldozer.

Caillou: yeah!

Brrrrmmm! Brrrrmmm...

Dad: hey, look, rosie.
Caillou's a bulldozer.

Rosie: blozer! Hee hee!

Narrator: caillou was so
involved in being a bulldozer,

He didn't think
of anything else.

And not everyone liked it!

Rosie: look, caillou!

Narrator: caillou thought

That rosie wanted
to play bulldozer, too.

Caillou didn't realize
that rosie just wanted

To show him her nice tower.

Rosie: no, caillou!

Caillou: look, rosie.
Bulldozers can help build, too.

Brrrrmmm!

Narrator: soon, rosie
was building her tower again,

And caillou the bulldozer wanted
to find another job to do.

Caillou: brrrrmmm!

Dad: thank you.

I'm going out in the yard
to rake the leaves.

I could sure use
a bulldozer to help.

Want to come?

Caillou: yes!

Narrator: a job for a bulldozer!
Caillou was thrilled.

He couldn't wait to get started.

Dad: good work, caillou.

Caillou: thanks!

Mom: wow! Looks
like you are almost done.

Narrator: caillou was happy.

This was a perfect job
for a bulldozer.

And there was plenty to do.

Rosie: whee! Ha ha!

[Rosie laughing]

Child: oh, neat.
It's a helicopter.

Different child: I'd love to fly
in the sky in one of those.

Look! She's going
for a helicopter ride

With her uncle.

That's a really big machine.

Different child: oh, yeah!

The seat is way up high.

She might need a little
helicopter to get up to it.

[Kids laughing]

Earphones?

Different child:
but not for music.

They're for helicopter messages.

Different child: that's a weird
steering wheel.

Wow! There are
so many dials and buttons.

I'm glad I'm not driving that.

Different child: oh, yeah!

Uncle: hit it hard. This one.

Child: here we go!

Different child: it has
blades on top instead of wings.

Different child: you use
a seatbelt,

The same as in the car.

Different child:
that keeps you nice and safe.

When everybody's ready,
the blades spin.

Then they cut through
the air. That lifts you up.

And up, up...

Different child:
and up, up, up!

[Meow]

Child:
sure is a long way down!

[Girl imitating whirring noises]

Child: hey! I think
that's my house over there!

[Laughter]

Child: time to come home.

Child: was it fun?

Different child:
oh, yeah. It was great!

Caillou: vroom! Vroom!

Beep! Beep!

The car needs to get by, daddy!

Dad: ok.

[Engine rumbling, car backfires]

Narrator: caillou
thought the car sounded

Like it had a terrible cold.

Caillou:
is our car broken, daddy?

Dad: I think maybe
it's time to take it

To the garage for some repairs.

Mom: actually, how about

We all go take a look
at some new cars today?

Caillou: wow!

Narrator: caillou had never seen
so many shiny new cars before.

Caillou: I like the red one!

Salesman: nice choice,
young man.

Dad: we're just looking around.

Maybe you can give
us a little tour.

Salesman:
why, certainly. Follow me.

What kind of car
are you looking for?

Caillou: one that's not broken.

[Dad chuckling]

[Beeping]

Computer:
door open. Door open...

Narrator: caillou was
surprised that a car could talk.

Rosie: open! Open! Hee hee!

Computer: door open.
Door open...

Mom: hmmm, I think
you two make enough noise

On car rides as it is.

Caillou:
can we look at that one?

Salesman:
sure! Come on. I'll show you.

Rosie: mommy, see!

Mom: wow!

Caillou: it looks like
a house in there.

Dad: it's just the right
size for you, caillou.

Narrator: caillou
thought it would be fun

To live in a house on wheels.

Caillou was having
a great time

Looking at all
the different kinds of cars.

Caillou: where's the roof?

Dad: it's called
a convertible, caillou.

The roof comes off.

Salesman: how about I take
us for a test drive?

Rosie: baaaah!

Hee hee hee!

[Kids laughing]

Caillou: but what if it rains?

Salesman: good question.

Watch what happens when
I press this button.

Caillou: wow!

Want to see my car?

Salesman:
wow! Nice set of wheels.

Here's a price list. Just let
me know if you're interested.

Nice meeting you all.

Rosie: bye!

Dad: wow. New cars
sure are a lot of money.

Caillou: can we get
the car with no roof, mommy?

Mom: maybe next year, caillou.

I'll bet our car
can be fixed up

So it's
almost as good as new.

Dad: I'll call our mechanic.

Narrator: caillou was happy
when he saw the car

Coming home from the garage.

Caillou:
yay! We got our car back.

Dad: yup, it's all fixed now!

Caillou: ohh!

Mom: what's the matter, caillou?

Caillou: now my car is broken.

Dad: hmm, looks like it's
time for another repair.

Caillou: thanks, daddy!

Gilbert: oh, there you are!

It's time for the guessing game.

It's going to be so much fun

Because it's all about big,
noisy machines.

Vroom, vroom! Beep! Beep!
Ha ha!

I love big machines

As long as they don't
wake me up during my nap.

So this is how the game works.

I'll show you three pictures
of different parts of a machine,

And you need to guess what kind

Of a machine
the parts belong to.

Are you ready to play?

Kids: ready!

Gilbert:
good. Here's the first clue.

Huh. I wonder what machine

Would have a fire extinguisher
and a hose on it.

Do you know what we use
a fire extinguisher for?

Kids: to put out the fires!

Gilbert: that's right.
Ok. Here's clue number two.

Hmmm?
What in the world is that?

Kids: a ladder!

Gilbert: is there a machine
that has a fire extinguisher,

A hose, and a ladder on it?

Kids: yes!

Gilbert:
really? What machine is that?

Kids: a fire truck.

Gilbert: oh,
you're absolutely right!

You're good at this.

Child: thanks!
Different child: cool!

Gilbert: that would definitely
wake me up from a nap.

[Kids laughing]

I once got stuck
in a very tall tree,

And caillou and his daddy
called the fire station,

And they used
the fire truck ladder

To get me down safe and sound.

Kids: I remember!

Gilbert: oh! Uh,
but enough about me.

Here comes another one.

Oh. Those could belong

To a lot of different
machines, couldn't they?

Kids: yes!

Gilbert: all right.
I think we need another clue.

Ooh. Very interesting.

Do you know what
that's used for?

Kids: to dig!

Gilbert: ahh! So let's see.

We have big wheels
and a digger-thingamajig-er.

And it's yellow.

Do you know what
it could be yet?

Kids: no!
Gilbert: me neither.

I think we need
another clue.

Kids: it's a bulldozer!

Child: yay!
Different child: whoo-hoo!

Gilbert:
wow! A big yellow bulldozer.

I'm impressed.
You're very good.

Child: thanks!

I have a bulldozer!

Gilbert: a real one?

Kids: no, a toy!

Gilbert: and I bet you
use it in your sandbox.

You did a great job.

Child: see you later, gilbert.

Different child: bye-bye!

Caillou: rosie!

She's my baby sister,
and I love her.

We play games together a lot.

And we have fun.

I get to show her things I like,

And sometimes
I help take care of her

Because I'm her big brother.

[Caillou laughing]

Mommy!

Mommy is great!

She takes me
to fun places like the beach.

Mommy says
it's fun to try new things.

She likes it
when I draw her pictures.

Mom: they're beautiful,
caillou. Thank you!

Caillou: and I like it
when she tucks me in at night.
