- ♪ Like AJ Gadgets,
I'm on my way! ♪

♪ How do they save the day? ♪

all: ♪ Well,

all kinds of powers ♪

man: Practice!

Mr. Sparks: It was
a normal morning

at the City Town
Animal Shelter.

Very little going on,

but something big
was about to go down.

- Oh, good.

The truck full of dog toys
is here.

There should be enough
for every dog in the shelter.

[toys squeaking]
[gasps]

Oh, no, the dog toys!

[dogs barking]
The dogs?

Come back, little doggies!
Come back!

Oh, what do I do?
Oh, no!

I need help.

[dramatic music]

Mr. Sparks: Luckily, helping
is what our students train for

at Hero Elementary.

Though sometimes,

they could use a little help
of their own.

[girl whooshes]

[quirky music]

woman: Attention,
Amazing Memory Kid.

You forgot
your lunch bag again.

- [grunts]

- Class is starting, guys.
- Let's go.

- Ooh, I can't wait.

- Huh?

- Buenos días, class.

Come in, come in.

- What's this, Mr. Sparks?

- It's a door.

- Good observation, AJ.

- But what's it doing
in our classroom?

- It's for training.

As heroes, sometimes
you may need to save someone

who is on the other side
of a locked door--

someone like our lovable
class pet, Fur Blur.

- [chitters excitedly]

- Ooh.
Now, imagine.

Poor little Fur Blur
is behind this locked door

and she can't get
to her afternoon snack.

- [chitters sadly]

- She needs you
to come to her rescue.

One of you must
get through that door.

- I'm coming, Fur Blur!

[crash]

Got her.
Uh...

[wood creaks]

- Well, she did
get through the door.

[Sparkinator blipping]
[all gasp]

Mr. Sparks: The Sparkinator.

Looks like trouble
outside the Animal Shelter.

- I think they could use
some heroic help.

- Well, who's the crew
who knows what to do?

all: Sparks' Crew
to the Rescue!

[exciting music]

♪ ♪

[dogs barking]

- Oh, thank goodness
you're here!

- Okay, Team.
What are we dealing with?

- We've got
a major traffic jam.

- And doggy squeaky toys
everywhere!

- And cute little doggies too!

[dogs barking, cars honking]

- It's too loud.

[grunting]

[relieved sigh]

- Things are out of control.

Can you help?

- Fear not.

We shall get
all the squeaky balls

and the cute little
doggy-woggies too--

Hero Word of Honor.

- Come on, Sparks' Crew!

- Let's do this.

[whooshes]

- Come on.

Whoa!
Whoa-whoa-whoa-whoa.

[grunts]
[groans]

- [whooshes]

[grunts]
Huh?

[dog barks]
[grunts]

[frustrated grunt]

- [panting]

[bell jingles]
[groans]

[babbles]

- Oops.

- Come on, AJ!

- Hey, AJ!
Catch!

♪ ♪

- Whoa!

[playful music]

- Gotcha!

[laughs]

[dog barking]
- [whooshes, grunts]

- Oh, yeah.

AJ: Lucita, push them this way.

[dog barks]

Mr. Sparks: Yes,
it was "ruff"... [laughs]

But my hero students
fetched all the squeaky balls

and all the dogs too.

- Wait.
There's still one ball left.

- I shall get it!

Catch!
[grunts]

- Oops!
[ball squeaks]

Aha!

I'll stop it with my Stop Ray.

♪ ♪

- Uh, I don't think
that's a Stop Ray.

- Mm, nope.

That's my Grow Ray.

- That giant squeaky ball
is getting away!

♪ ♪

[ball squeaks]
- Yikes!

- Whoa, it could really
damage something!

- Or someone!

People are in danger.
We have to help.

Come on!

[ball squeaking]

♪ ♪

[all grunt]

[groaning]

♪ ♪

Huh?

- [panting]
It's getting faster and faster!

- That's 'cause
it's rolling downhill!

- Never fear.

We shall use our superpowers
to catch it.

[jetpack whooshes]

- [yelps]

- Oh, no!

[cart rattling]

- [gasps]
It's pushing that grocery cart!

- Then I shall push it back!

[grunts]

[tires screeching]

Oh, no!
[grunting]

♪ ♪

[birds chirping]
- [meows]

[purrs]

- Phew.

- Here you go, sir.
- Thank you.

♪ ♪

- [gasps]
We're gaining on it.

- Yeah, the ground
is flatter here.

Ball is slowing down.

- Get ready.
Now's our chance to stop it.

- I shall stop the ball
with a wall...

[bubbles bubbling]
Of bubbles!

♪ ♪

Eh, that's the way
the bubbles burst.

[sheepish laugh]

- Okay,
I've reversed this Grow Ray

to make it a Shrink Ray.

[Shrink Ray whooshes]

[dramatic musical sting]

Oops.

I must've reversed
the reverse button. [chuckles]

- Maybe I can land on the ball
to stop it.

♪ ♪

Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh!
Oh.

Whoa!

- What do we do now?
- [groans]

- I know.
We can use our...

all: Superpowers of Science!

- Let's start by investigating.

I'll fly up
and see what I can find out.

[curious music]

I notice that the ball

is heading away from downtown.

I also notice
that I'm getting dizzy!

[squeaks]

- I shall protect you!

Bubble up!

- [screams]

[grunts]

[victorious fanfare]

Thanks, Benny.

Let's go!

- Huh, I just thought
of something I noticed today.

Thought Projecting!

The ball pushed
that grocery cart, see?

But Benny stopped it by
pushing it from the other side.

Maybe that's
what we need to do:

push the ball
from the other side.

- Okay!
I'm on it!

[dramatic music]

♪ ♪

[knuckles cr*ck]

[ball squeaks]
[grunts]

[grunting]

- That's a super push!

- It slowed the ball down,
but it's still moving!

- And it's pushing Sara.

It could push her
into the lake!

- Not if I can help it!

- [grunting]

- [grunts]

[both straining]

- Ball is slowing down,
but they need a stronger push.

- Come on, AJ.
Let's help.

♪ ♪

[all grunting]

- [grunting]
Push.

- You've gotta be kidding me!

♪ ♪

[feet screeching]

[all cheering]
- Yeah, we did it!

- We stopped the giant ball
with a giant push!

- [meows]

[purrs]

- Great work, team.

- Yes!
We have saved the day.

Our work here is done.

- Not yet.

We said we would get
all the squeaky balls back.

We gave our Hero Word of Honor.

- I guess we did.

But how are we going to get
this big ball back up the hill

all the way
to the Animal Shelter?

- I'll just teleport it back.

It'll be a snap.

[whooshes]

Oops.
Let me try again.

Let me try again.

- [laughs] I think we've gotta
come up with another plan.

[device beeps]

- How's it going, class?

- Well, we ended up
with a giant squeaky ball

rolling down City Town.

- Ay.
What did you do?

- We stopped it together
by pushing from the other side.

- Fantástico!

- But we wanna
get it moving again.

- Hmm, if pushing
stopped it from moving,

maybe pushing
can start it moving.

- Let's investigate!

- Yes, try it out.

Good luck!

- Come on!

- [grunts]

- It's moving!
[gasps]

- [grunts]

[all grunting]

[yelping]

[straining]

[bell jingles]
[panting]

- We promised we would get
every squeaky ball back.

- And this is the last of them.

of our squeaky balls?

It's huge!

- Oh, good.

- Amazing Memory Kid?

What are you doing here?

- Oh, I forgot that
today's my dog's birthday.

I heard you had
some extra squeaky balls.

for a super dog like this?

But, uh, how can I get it home?

- Well, Team, looks like
someone else needs our help.

To Amazing Memory Kid's house!

Sparks' Crew:

Mr. Sparks: And so
our young heroes

had a ball
saving the day.

And all it took
was a little push.

[chuckles]
Make that a lot of big pushes!

Mr. Sparks: A boat out of
control, a hero in action--

was this the work
of an invisible boat thief?

[chuckles] No, it was my class
training for water rescues.

- Yay, Lucita!

- You can do it!

- Catch that runaway boat!

- I got it, I got it,
I got it, I don't got it.

[overlapping cheering]

- Oh--ooh!

Mr. Sparks: But sometimes,

it's the rescuer
who needs rescuing.

- Uh-oh!
Too high!

- She looked down.

Lucita always gets dizzy
when she looks down.

- [groans]

- Oh, no!

- [chitters]

- Oh!
[grunts]

[groans]

- [laughs] Excelente!
- Yes, you did it!

- [chitters happily]
- Okay, Team.

Time to pull the boat to shore.

- Let's see if I have
a gadget for that.

[objects rustling]
Jet Shoes,

Arm-o-matic, Grow Ray...

- I got this.

[whooshes]

[grunts]

- Uh-oh!

[boat fizzes]

- Oops, my bad.

[Sparks' Crew grunting]
- Heavy.

- Well, Team,
we did bring the boat to shore,

but our water rescues
could use some work.

- That's okay.

You're still
heroes-in-training.

You're learning.

Now, let's pack up
and head back to school.

Come on, Fur Blur.
- [chittering]

[playful music]

♪ ♪

- Whoa, I do not wanna
get my backpack wet

'cause my Super Gadgets
are in there.

- Never fear.

I shall protect it!

Bubble up.

- Thanks, Benny!

- [grunting]

We've got to make it fit!

- Oh, it'll fit.
[knuckles cr*ck]

[grunting]

- Fur Blur!

- Aha!

- [chitters]

- Nice job, Lucita.

Oh, you little cutie-wootie!

- Okay, Team,
nos vamos.

- Come on, Team!
Let's go!

- I got the door.
- Okay.

[energetic music]

[engine turning over]

[tires rustling]

[mysterious music]

Mr. Sparks: But when my crew
got back

and unpacked the back,

Benny found the backpack
wasn't packed!

Whew!
Say that three times fast!

- Oh.
Oh, boy.

[whimpers]

- Benny, what's wrong?

- Uh, I can't find
AJ's backpack.

Think, think, think...
[gasps]

I left it on the ground
near the van.

- What?
Oh, no.

He loves that backpack.

He's gonna be upset.

- Maybe he won't.
Maybe he'll be totally calm.

- [screams]
This is terrible!

Yuck!
[whimpers]

- Okay, maybe not.

- I can't take it anymore.

I don't like
how wet clothes feel.

I need to change right now.

- Okay, that's fine.

- I'll get my backpack
when I'm dry.

[groans]

Yuck.

- I'm gonna go back
to the lake and get it.

- Before telling him?

- I'll be back before
AJ even knows it's gone.

Mr. Sparks,
we left something at the lake.

Okay if I pop back
and pick it up?

- Oh, I like how you want
to do things yourself, Sara.

But remember to take
a buddy with you

because it's always safer
with a buddy.

- Lucita will go with me.

With the two of us looking,
we can get it back faster.

about his backpack?

Keep him busy.

The beach slopes
downhill to the water.

in a round bubble.

[gasps]

Maybe it rolled down
into the lake.

- Nah, Benny's bubbles float.

If it went in the lake,
it would be right there,

floating on top of the water.

- Wait, I just noticed
something else.

See that?

Those leaves are moving!

- How?
It's not even windy.

- Then it must be the water
that's moving the leaves.

- And if water can move leaves,

then it can move a backpack
in a bubble!

- We've got to find
where AJ's backpack went.

Come on!
The water's going this way!

- AJ?
- Oh, come on.

I--
aww.

I don't have any dry clothes
to change into.

Maybe there's something
in my backpack.

- No!

I mean, why get changed

when we have the perfect way
to get dry,

uh, right here in the school?

[whooshing]

Look!

The land is closer
together here.

Lucita: And the water's
moving faster.

This is definitely different
from the lake.

[gasps]

I think it's a river!

- So the water from that lake
flows into this river?

- Yup, so we have to keep
following the flow of the water

if we want
to find the backpack.

Let's go!
- [whooshes]

[adventurous music]

- I see it!
There's AJ's backpack!

- Can you get it?

- Oh.
Whoa!

Whoa,
it's too wet and slippery!

I can't get a grip!

- [gasps]

[angelic tone]

Maybe we can block it!

[whooshes]

[grunting]

- Yes, we did it!

- Yeah! Whoo-hoo!
- Yes, yes, yes!

- Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah.
- Oh, whoo-hoo!

- Yeah!
[laughs]

[both cheering]
- All right!

[laughter]

[both gasp]

- I can't believe we lost it--

again!

Mr. Sparks:
Back at our school,

Benny was doing his best
to keep AJ busy

with an idea he hoped
would really fly.

- See?

This is a great way to dry off!

- But the wind tunnel
is supposed to be

for flying lessons.

[button beeps]
[machine powers down]

[grunts]

Well, I'm dry now.
[chuckles]

I want to go get my backpack.

I don't feel right without it.

- Sure, AJ, uh, right after

you help Mr. Sparks
fix the boat!

[laughing] I mean,
when it comes to fixing things,

you're the man.

- I'm not a man.
I'm only seven.

♪ ♪

- I can't see
the backpack anywhere.

- I can't believe
we lost it again.

- Sara, it's time to tell AJ.

- [sighs]
He'll be so upset.

- Yup, but he's our friend,
and he deserves to know.

- [sighs]

[slowly]

Now, as soon as Lucita and Sara
get back

from the lake, we can--

- The lake?

Why did they go back
to the lake?

- We went to find
your backpack, AJ.

- What do you mean?

- Uh, well, I accidentally

left it behind.

- It rolled down a hill
into the lake--

My Super Gadgets are in there!

- Your backpack's dry.
It's in the bubble, but...

[quickly]
The lake led into a river

and the water carried it away.

- [groaning]

- And we don't know
where it is right now.

- It's lost?

This cannot be happening.

- Try taking some deep breaths.

- [inhales]

- And out.
[both exhale]

- [inhales, exhales]
Okay.

- I'd feel the way you do
if something of mine was lost.

We're sorry, AJ.

- We didn't want you to worry.

- But we should've
told you sooner.

Sorry.

- Well, now you can work
as a team together

to solve this problem.

- Right.

And we need your help, AJ.

You are great
at solving problems.

If anyone can do this,

- [exhales]

We have to get
further down the river

before my backpack gets there.

to the Rescue!

- I hope we aren't too late.

The river looks like
it just ends.

- It doesn't just end.
It falls.

- It's a waterfall!

- Come on, Team!

- There's lots of hard,
pointy rocks down there.

- Look!
My backpack!

- It's too slippery to pick up,

but if we don't stop it,

it'll go over the falls
with all of AJ's gadgets.

- Uh, did I mention that

there are hard,
pointy rocks down there?

- What do we do?

- Hm, we let it
go over the falls.

[together] Huh?
- What?

No, no, no, no, no.
Your backpack will be ruined!

- Thought Projecting!

Not if you fly out
and catch it from below

like how you caught Fur Blur
this morning.

- Huh?

Oh...

- Lucita, I know you get dizzy
when you look down,

but if anyone can do this,
it's you.

- Okay,
let's go with your plan.

- [gasps]
Here comes the backpack.

It's now or never!

[whimpering]

[all cheering]

- [relieved sigh]

Mr. Sparks: So my students
tracked that pack

from a lake to a river
to a waterfall

and got that backpack back.

And that is how they learned
to do a real water rescue.

- AJ, you are the man.

- I'm seven.
