to save the day? ♪

♪ How do they save the day? ♪

Mr. Sparks:
At Hero Elementary,

our young heroes learn
to prepare for anything.

Action, adventure...

- Ahhh!

[quirky music]

Mr. Sparks: And even recess.

- [squeaks]

[whooshes]

[exciting music]

[whooshes]

- Huh?

Lucita.

♪ ♪

- Hey, AJ,
what you doing?

- I'm about to try out
my newest creation.

- You made...a stick?

- No, this is a Twigcam.

Thought projecting!

I made it just like the one
used by Branchman,

defender of the forest.

- So there's a camera
in there?

- A really tiny one. See?

- Oh. Amazing!

- It's the perfect thing to
let me look at birds up close.

I'll just leave
some bread crumbs.

Come and eat, birds!

We can watch from over there.

♪ ♪

[playful music]

- [squeaks]

- Looks like
somebody's interested

in your bread crumbs.

- Ahh, those are for the birds.

- [squeaks]

♪ ♪

[bird chirps]

[squeaks]

♪ ♪

- It's working.

That bird thinks
it's just a regular twig.

[beeping]

[ominous music]

Oh, no! No, no, no!

Come back!

- AJ, what's wrong?

- That bird took my Twigcam.

- Don't worry, AJ.
We're gonna help.

- Yes, we shall get
your Twigcam back.

- Yeah, we will. But...how?

- I wonder if there's a way you
can tell where that bird is.

- Wait, my Twigcam is still on.

Lucita: [gasps]

We can see what the bird sees.

- But how do we know
where the bird is?

- Oh, I have something
that might be helpful.

This is a map of City Town.

- Okay, but how does
that help us?

- A map is a model
of the real world.

It shows where things are.

Look, there's Hero Elementary.

- That's our school?

Doesn't look like it to me.

- Ah, but what if you
look at things

from a different point of view?

Imagine what the school
looks like from up high.

- Hmm...

When I fly, things down below
look different.

Like this.

If I'm right over the school...

[beeps]

It looks like this.

And if I go up this way...

[camera shutter clicks]

The school looks like this.

- Oh, yeah. Way different.

- [gasps]

Uh-oh, shouldn't have
looked down.

Whoa!
- Oh, no!

Bubble up.

- Whoa!

Ooh! Oh.

I still get dizzy
when I fly too high.

- You're still learning
how to use your superpower,

but maybe there's another
superpower you all can use

to help you read this map
and find AJ's Twigcam.

- Of course.

We can use our...

all: Superpowers of Science!

- Exactamente.

- Okay.

Let's start by observing
what we see in the real world

and comparing it to the map.

- Okay.
I'm starting to see it.

That's the school,
those are the trees here...

Sara: And that's
our playground.

Huh, a map is a model
of the real world.

- So if we compare the video
from my Twigcam to the map,

maybe we can find that bird.

Lucita: Okay, it looks like

the bird is flying
over buildings.

AJ: That's Founder's Fountain.

Benny: Which is right there
on the map.

- The bird landed
on Founder's Fountain.

Now we know where to go.

- I got this.

[whooshes]

Okay, I don't actually know how
to get to Founder's Fountain.

- Good thing we've got a map.

- Let's go find that bird
and get AJ's Twigcam.

- Who's the crew
who knows what to do?

[exciting music]

all: Sparks' Crew
to the Rescue.

- Come on. I'll drive.

- And I'll read the map
and help point the way.

♪ ♪

Mr. Sparks: And so we followed
the map down the street,

took a turn on Hyper Drive,
and soon, we were at...

- Founder's Fountain.
There it is.

♪ ♪

And there's the bird
with my Twigcam.

- I'll get it!
It'll be a snap.

[whooshes]

Wait, don't go.

- Come back with my Twigcam!

♪ ♪

- Aha!

Oh...

♪ ♪

I have it, I have it,
I have it.

Ahh!
I don't have it.

- Bubble up.

[grunts]

Whoa!

[grumbles]

[whooshes]

- Gotcha. Whoa!

♪ ♪

both: Oh, no!

I got 'em!

- Uh-oh.

- Aw.

My Twigcam.

It's gone again.

- It's okay.
We know what to do now.

We'll observe what we see
and compare it to the map.

- All right, let's see where
our feathered friend is now.

Lucita: It's following a river.

- Which is there on the map.

♪ ♪

- Let's go.

[whooshes]

[exciting music]

Mr. Sparks: Using the map,
we followed the river

until the bird
finally landed on...

Sara: Hero Hill.

♪ ♪

Lucita: Where's that bird?

[bird chirps]
- Over there.

[chirping]

- I'll get it.
- Um...

How about I try this time?

♪ ♪

Do not fear, little birdie.

[soft music]

Oh, that's it.

Good birdie.

Now I just need to take
this itty-bitty twig...

Oh, no!

♪ ♪

Maybe I can catch it
with some bubbles.

Bubble up.

[dramatic music]

Aww.

[exciting music]

♪ ♪

Huh?

Uh-oh.

[chirps]

Oh, no!

- [sighs] Am I ever going
to get my Twigcam back?

Nothing we tried has worked.

- Not so far,
but sometimes,

you have to try again and again
till you find what does work.

- Yes, we shall follow
wherever the Twigcam leads us.

Lucita: And right now it looks
like it's leading us...

Hmm.

There!

Mr. Sparks: City Town Park.

- Let's go, team.

[exciting music]

♪ ♪

Mr. Sparks:
So we followed the map

right to a field
in City Town Park,

where we found the bird
in a very tall tree.

♪ ♪

[bird chirping]

- What's it doing?

[mysterious music]

AJ: Building a nest
out of twigs.

My Twigcam is not a twig.

I--I mean, it sort of is,
but it's not for nests.

- So how do we get it back?

We don't want the bird
to fly away with it again.

- Is there another Superpower
of Science that can help?

- Hmm.

[bird chirps]

[gasps]

Planning.

We can make a plan,

and I've got
a great one in mind.

I'll draw it for you.

Pretend this is the field
we're in,

and this leaf is the tree.

We'll use these
for those big rocks,

and this stick is that bench.

Mr. Sparks: Look at that.

Lucita's made her own map.

- Map? No.
This is a model of the park.

Oh, I guess it is a map.

- So what is the plan?

- Benny, you'll hide
behind the rocks

and get the bird's attention.

- Yes.
I shall use my bird call.

- Perfect.

AJ, do you still have
any bread crumbs?

- Yeah.

Uh, they're a little linty.

- Just dust them off.

That should get the bird
out of the nest.

- It did like my bread crumbs.

Pumpernickel bread
is surprisingly tasty.

- What do I do, Lucita?

- Well, that tree's
too high for me,

so I'll find
some extra twigs,

and you can teleport up there
and trade them for the Twigcam.

- Got it.

- That's a great plan.

Time to put it into action.

[exciting music]

- [whistling]

[chirping]

- Here, birdie, birdie, birdie.

Some delicious,
linty bread crumbs.

Mmm.

♪ ♪

- Okay, Sara, take these twigs
up to the nest,

and get that Twigcam.

- I'm on it.

Tree.
[whooshes]

♪ ♪

Oops. Wrong tree.

Let me try again.

Tree.
[whooshes]

Wrong tree.

[whooshes]

[whooshes]

♪ ♪

- Uh-oh.

Lucita, I'm all out
of bread crumbs.

The bird will go back
to its nest soon.

We have to get my Twigcam
out of there fast.

- Okay.

I guess it's up to me.

[dramatic music]

- Lucita's going for it.

- That tree is so high.

She'll get dizzy.

- [gulps]
Don't look down.

Don't look down.

♪ ♪

Oh.

- She made it!
[bird chirps]

- Aha!
There's AJ's Twigcam.

Wahh!

Sorry, but this belongs
to my friend.

Here, you can use these
for your nest.

[chirps]

Look, AJ, I got it!

- Yeah!
- Ha-ha, she did it!

- [gasps]

Uh-oh.

Shouldn't have looked down.

[groans]

all: Oh, no!

- Whoa!

- Bubble up.

[grunts]

AJ: Oh, no, my Twigcam!

[whooshes]

- Got it.

- Fantástico.

- Oh, thank goodness.

Lucita, I'm so glad
you're okay.

- And the Twigcam too?

- Oh, uh, right.
Yes.

Thanks for helping me
get it back, everyone.

- Huh, good thing
we had a good plan.

- And a couple of good maps.

- And a good, long recess.

[all laughing]
- Let's go.

Mr. Sparks: And so my class
found a way to save the day...

but could they find their way
back to Hero Elementary?

- Which way is the school,
anyway?

- Hmm. How can we find out?

[all gasp]

all: Follow the map!

♪ We all belong
at Hero Elementary ♪

Mr. Sparks: Some superheroes
soar up to the stars,

but my students were excited
just to see the stars.

all: Whoa.

- Did you see that?

- What are those?

- [squeaks]

[soft music]

- My mom calls them

sh**ting stars,

but they're not really stars

at all.

I'll zoom in.

They're red-hot rocks
from space

called meteors.

- Wow.
- Whoa!

- Cool.
- [squeaks]

♪ ♪

- Gracias, Sara.

That was very en-"light"-ening.

[chuckles]

- Hey, where did the stars go?

- They're still there. Look.

You just can't see them

when I turn the lights on.

So what sparked you to share
all this about meteors, Sara?

- Well, I heard on the news

that there's gonna
be a meteor shower tonight.

all: Huh?

- A meteor shower?

Thought projecting.

Why would anyone want to shower
with space rocks?

- It's not that kind of shower.

A meteor shower
is when lots of meteors

fall toward Earth
at the same time.

- Um, meteors will fall
toward Earth tonight?

Well, then we shall do our duty
and protect City Town.

- Right!

I'll fly up and spin at them
at supersonic speed.

♪ ♪

- I shall bubble up and bounce
them back into space.

- I'll make a mechanical
suit of armor to defend us.

Sara: Um, guys?

We don't have to do
any of that.

- We don't?
Mr. Sparks: No.

The meteors will be very
far away, up in space.

- Yeah, they'll look like

little streaks of light
in the sky.

- Oh.

Well, that still sounds
pretty cool.

- I was thinking we could watch
the meteors together tonight.

- Awesome.
- Yeah, I'm in.

- Great plan.

- Sí, a great idea.

We can meet up
at Founder's Fountain.

- Hmm. Meteor watching.

This calls for
a super-special gadget.

♪ ♪

Aha!

Mr. Sparks: That night,
my class found themselves

at Founder's Fountain,

but would meteors be found?

You'll find out.

[whooshes]

- Whoa.

Look at all the people here
to see the meteor shower.

- I hope we'll see
lots of those space rocks.

- [squeaking]

- Oh.
Has anyone seen AJ?

[bell rings]

- Whoa! Slick ride, AJ.

- I call it a mobile
meteor-watching machine.

- I like all the telescopes
and stuff,

but what's that for?

[beeps, whirs]

AJ: Snacks.

- [squeaks]

- Oh.

- Oh, so cool.

♪ ♪

- Bueno.
Now we can eat under the stars.

♪ ♪

- [squeaks, chomps]

[gulps]

[laughter]

- Hey, wait a minute.

Where are all the stars?

- Hey, yeah.

I don't see any.

- If we can't see the stars,

we may not be able
to see the meteors.

girl: I can't wait!

man: I'm so excited.

It's gonna be so good.

[indistinct chatter]

Lucita: Uh-oh.

All these people are here
to see the meteor shower.

They're gonna
be so disappointed.

- Not if we can help it.

- Yeah, there's gotta be a way

we can help everyone
see the meteors.

- Well, who's the crew
who knows what to do?

[exciting music]

all: Sparks' Crew
to the Rescue.

♪ ♪

- Okay.
So what do we do?

- Seems like we have to figure
out why we can't see any stars

and then do something about it.

Sara: Right.

So maybe we should use our...

all: Superpowers of Science!

- Always a good idea.

- Let's start by asking
some questions.

- All right!

Like what?

- Well, since we can't
see the stars from here,

could we see them
from somewhere else?

- Ah. Good question.

- Hey, yeah, do you think
there are other places

where we can see the stars?

- There's one way to find out.

Let's spread out
and investigate.

Come on, team.

[whooshes]

[exciting music]

[whooshes]

Mr. Sparks:
And so my heroic students

searched all over City Town
to see what they could see.

- I'm downtown
at the clock tower,

but I can't see
any stars in the sky.

[whooshes]

- Hmm.

♪ ♪

No stars at Sidekick Park,
either.

♪ ♪

- Nothing at the school.

Well, except me, I guess.

- Guys, I'm at the movie
theater, and guess what.

- You can see the stars?

- The new "Arctic Chill"
movie is playing.

Oh, and I can't see anything
in the sky from here, either.

[relaxed music]

♪ ♪

- Bad news, Mr. Sparks.

There isn't anywhere
in City Town

where we can see the stars.

- Hmm. That's too bad.

- Maybe we're not
missing anything.

Maybe there's no meteor shower
tonight after all.

- Hmm.
How can we find out?

- We keep investigating.

I'll check the news.

- All eyes are on the skies
here at Mega Mountain,

where meteors are zipping
across the starry sky

every few minutes.

all: Huh?

- They can see the meteors
at Mega Mountain?

- Then why can't we
see them here?

- That is the question.
Ideas?

all: Hmm.

- Well, I've been
to Mega Mountain,

and it is really high.

- Then maybe we can
see the meteors

if we get up higher.

- I'll investigate this time.

Bubble up.

Higher, higher.

Where are those stars?

[crash]

Uh...can I get a little help?

♪ ♪

- I'm coming, Benny.

♪ ♪

- [grunts]

Whoa! Ugh.

Thanks, AJ.

I feel safe--whoa!

Whoa!
- Oh, no.

- Whoa-oh!
- Oh, dear.

- Whoa! Ah! Whoa!

Ah! Ahh!

Ah! Ugh.

Well, that was fun.

- Really?
I didn't think so.

My mobile
meteor-watching machine

might need a little work.

[whooshes]

- Did you see any stars
from up there?

- Nope.
No meteors, either.

- Maybe we have to look
from even higher.

I'll give it a try.

- But Lucita...
[sighs]

I hope she doesn't fly
too high.

♪ ♪

- Where are you, meteors?

- Do you see anything
up there, Lucita?

♪ ♪

- Mm, no, I don't.

Whoa.
Shouldn't have looked down.

[groaning]

Ugh...

- Uh-oh. Incoming.

[whooshes]

I got her, I got her.

[dramatic music]

- Whoa!

Ooh!

♪ ♪

- See? I got her.

- Okay.
Getting up high doesn't work.

But let's keep investigating.

- Sí, let's keep at it.

- Hmm.

Since people can see meteors
at Mega Mountain,

maybe I can teleport there
to investigate.

- Good idea.

Then we can compare
what you see there

with what we see here.

- Yes.
Investigating and comparing.

Both great
Superpowers of Science.

- I'm on it.

Mega Mountain.

[whooshes]

[whooshes]

Okay, I really am on it.

On Mega Mountain.

Wow.

It sure is dark here.

[gasps]

Whoa!
Look at all those stars.

- You can see stars there?

- Lots of them.

- Wow.
- Ooh.

- [gasps]
There goes a meteor now.

Wo-o-ow!

- Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh!
I wanna see one!

♪ ♪

- Whoa.
- Wow.

- Why can't we see them here?

- Keep investigating, Sara.

What else do you notice?

- Not much.

It's really dark here.

I'm coming back.

[whooshes]

Sorry, I couldn't see
anything else.

It was too dark there.

- But you did notice something.

It's dark.

- Hmm.

Let's compare that
to City Town.

Huh.

It's not dark downtown
at the clock tower.

I see a ton of lights on.

[whooshes]

- Lots of lights
at the skate park too.

♪ ♪

Benny: Same thing
at the school.

♪ ♪

AJ: And at the movie theater.

I see lots of lights.

Whoa!

Ahh.

I gotta fix this machine.

- There are lots of lights
all over the city.

- Ah.

So why can't we see the stars

in a place where
there are lots of lights?

- Hmm.

Maybe this is like
what happened in class today.

Thought projecting.
Remember?

When the classroom lights
were off,

we could see the stars
on the ceiling,

but when the lights were on,
we couldn't see them at all.

- You're right.

I think all these lights
in City Town

are making the stars
and meteors hard to see.

- Mm.

City lights
are a real problem.

It makes everything around
bright when it should be dark.

- So we won't be able to see
the meteor shower after all?

- Everyone here's
gonna be so disappointed.

We've gotta do something
about it.

- Yeah.

How about we ask people
to turn off the lights

and see if it makes
a difference?

- Fantástico.

- Let's go, Sparks' Crew.

[whooshes]

[exciting music]

Mr. Sparks: So my heroic
students took action.

♪ ♪

They asked everyone
to turn off any lights

that didn't need to be on.

♪ ♪

It was "lights out"
for City Town.

- Well, City Town
is much darker now,

but there's still
some big lights on.

- Don't worry.

I've gotten
special permission.

[whirring]

♪ ♪

[crowd murmuring]

- Look. Meteors.

- Wow, they're so cool.
- Whoa!

- Oh, so beautiful.

Mr. Sparks: And so my bright
young heroes made things dark

and, once again,
saved the day.

[chuckles]
I mean, the night.

all: ♪ We all belong
at Hero Elementary ♪

man: Time to learn
how to hero!

Hey, you!
Yes, that means you,
