[school bell rings]

Sparks: It was a foggy morning
in City Town...

- Oh, come along, Bitsy.

- [squeaks]
- [barks]

- Oh, it's just a chipmunk.
Let it be.

Sparks: When Mr. Quivers' dog
went missing

into the mist.

[dramatic music]

- Bitsy!
Bitsy!

Come back!
Bitsy!

[upbeat music]

- Remember, you're working
on your observation skills.

Can you find Fur Blur?

- Hm, I can't see her anywhere.

- Me neither, and I'm looking
with Zoom-oculars.

- Looking is good, but what are
some other ways to observe?

- Uh, listening.

- [squeaks]

- [gasps]
I think I hear her.

[whooshes]

- [squeaks]
- Found her.

♪ ♪

Aw.
- [squeaks]

- Good job, Sara.

[Sparkinator beeping]

- The Sparkinator.
There must be trouble.

- Bitsy!
Where did you go?

- Oh no, Mr. Quivers
lost his dog, Bitsy.

- [grunts]

It's hard to see, but it looks
like he's near the statue

in front of our school.

- Then come on, let's go help.

- It looks pretty foggy
out there, so be careful.

- Yeah, but fog
is just a cloud

that's down
near the ground, right?

[chuckles]
No big deal.

- Well, you may have to change
how you do things

because of the fog.

- Don't worry, Mr. S.
We got this.

- Okay, then who's the crew
who knows what to do?

[dramatic music]

Sparks' Crew to the Rescue.

- [whooshes]

this much fog before.

- Sparks' Crew,

Bitsy ran off,

and I can't find her
in all this fog.

- Fear not, Mr. Quivers,
we are here to help.

- Yeah, we'll bring her back
no prob.

- Oh, thank you.
She went that way.

I'll stay here
in case she comes back.

- Good idea.
Come on, team, let's go!

[whooshes]

- Oh, where did you go?

- Bitsy!
Bitsy!

Where are you?

[sighs]

[screams]

- [whistles]

[thuds]

- Here, Bitsy!

[screams]

- Bitsy, where are you?

Now where am I?

- Our superpowers
don't seem to work very well

in this kind of weather.

- Nope,
there's too many things

we can bump into
hidden in the fog.

- Mr. Sparks was right.

We're going to have
to do things differently

because of the fog.

- Yep, we can't use
our superpowers to get around,

but we do have other powers.

We can use our...

[together]
Superpowers of Science!

♪ ♪

- Let's start by observing.

What do we notice
about the fog?

- Hm, it's very thick.

- And it's hard
to see through it.

- Well, you can see a little.

And if you move slowly...

[gasps]

Things start to appear
as you get closer to them!

- Oh, hey, yeah!

- Great, so we can look
for Bitsy safely

if we just take it slow.

- So we can't use
our superpowers

to rush off to the rescue?

- Nope, I guess we just walk.

- Weird.
Okay.

Let's walk off
to the rescue slowly.

[upbeat music]

Bitsy!
- Where are you?

- Bitsy!
- Bitsy!

Huh, which way do we go?

- Maybe we should split up
to cover more ground.

- Good idea.
Let's buddy up.

- AJ and I can search for Bitsy
that way.

- And Lucita and I
will go this way.

- I just hope Bitsy
isn't too far away by now.

- [squeaking]
- [barks]

[dramatic music]

Sparks: So my students
searched high...

- [whistles]

Sparks: And low,
but they didn't have

the foggiest idea where
to find the dog in the fog.

- Here, Bitsy!

- Think we can
speed this up a little?

Bitsy could be anywhere by now.

- But we have to go slowly
because of the fog.

It's so thick,

we can only see things
when we get close to them.

Like that hydrant!

- [gasps]
Ha!

- Or that tree!

- No prob.

[grunts]
- Ooh, or that mailbox.

- Uh--ugh.

Okay,
maybe we should go slower.

- Bitsy!

Where are you?

- [groans]

It's hard to look for Bitsy
when I feel so uncomfortable.

- Oh, what's wrong, AJ?

- I don't like how the fog
makes my clothes feel all damp.

- Yeah, fog is misty and wet.

- I wish there was a way I
could keep this fog off of me.

- [chuckles]
Maybe there is.

Bubble up!

The fog can't touch you now.

- Hey, you're right!

- Come on, bubble buddy.
Let's find Bitsy.

- Uh, which way were we headed?

- Uh, this way.

[upbeat music]

[dramatic music]

- [gasps]
Uh-oh.

Wrong way.

That's the...

[together]
Hill!

[both screaming]

♪ ♪

- Bitsy!

Where are you?

- Huh, have we seen
this hydrant before?

- I don't know.
All hydrants look the same.

- Hm, that tree looks like
the one we passed

right before you crashed
into that mailbox.

- I don't believe this.
- Did you notice something?

- Yeah, we're going in circles.
- Not that, listen.

both: [screaming]

[gasps]
- Uh-oh.

- Benny and AJ!
- That bubble's in trouble!

Back in a snap.
[whooshes]

- No, Sara,
you shouldn't...

teleport in the fog.

♪ ♪

- [whooshes]
AJ, Benny!

Where am I?

Aw, why did I
teleport in the fog?

♪ ♪

[upbeat music]

- [barks]

both: [screaming]

- [barks]

- Lucita,
I lost them in the fog.

- Where are you, Sara?

- I think I'm lost too.

- Don't worry.
We'll find each other somehow.

Hm.

If fog is just a cloud
on the ground,

I wonder
if I can fly above it.

Let's see.

[dramatic music]

Ah. Huh.
It's clear up here.

Oh, looks like there's
a little hole in the fog.

[gasps]

I didn't know
I was this high up.

Oh...getting...dizzy.

[screams]

[distant screaming]

- [gasps]
Lucita!

[whooshes]

- Whoa!
- Gotcha.

- [sighs]
Thanks.

How did you know where I was?
- I heard you.

You're not exactly quiet
when you fall.

[Benny and AJ screaming]

♪ ♪

[both screaming]

[gasps]

♪ ♪

[both groaning]

- Are you two okay?

- So dizzy.

- But we're okay.

Uh, any luck finding Bitsy?

- No, but I think
I have a plan.

I noticed that we could hear
you before we could see you.

- So?

- So maybe instead of looking
for Bitsy in the fog,

we should be listening for her.

- Listening is another way
of observing things.

- Right,
let's listen for Bitsy.

- Remember
what she sounds like.

She's got
that really high bark.

It kind of sounds like--

[distant barking]

Yeah, like that!
I hope we can hear her.

[distant barking]

- That is Bitsy.

- Let's follow the sound
of her barking.

[distant barking]

[upbeat music]

- [whistles]

- Bitsy!

- I don't hear
any more barking.

- Maybe she ran off again.
- Oh, she could be anywhere!

[distant barking]

♪ ♪

- [barks]

- Oh--or right here.
- Bitsy!

[laughs]
There you are!

- Yeah, Bitsy's back!
- What a relief.

- Aw, it's great to see you,
you little cutie-wootie.

- [laughs]

Mr. Quivers will be so happy
when we bring her back.

- Uh, about that.

How do we find our way
back to the school

if we don't even know
where we are?

- Hm.
[water rushing]

I think I do know where we are.
Do you notice that sound?

- Huh?
It sounds like water.

It's coming from over there!

[dramatic music]

♪ ♪

- It's Founder's Fountain.

- Oh, we know
our way back from here.

- Yep, let's go team.

Just take it nice and slow.

- And promise me we
won't travel in a bubble.

- [chuckles]
You got it, AJ.

[laughter]

- Oh, Bitsy, where did you go?

[distant barking]

♪ ♪

[gasps]
Bitsy!

Oh, my sweet, sweet, Bitsy, oh.

Oh, yes, yes.
[mumbling indistinctly]

Thank you for bringing her
back to me.

Oh, oh, oh, okay.
[chuckles]

- Happy to help, Mr. Quivers.

- Let's go home, girl.

Uh, does anybody know
which way my house is?

It's hard to tell in this fog.

- We'll help you get there,
Mr. Quivers.

We just have to go
nice and slow.

- Oh, thank you so kindly.

Sparks:
And so my hero students

learned that when things
seem foggy,

you may have to make
some changes,

but if you take it slow,

you'll find your way,
eventually.

Sparks: When you're
a hero in training,

you need to work hard,
you need to study,

and, of course, you need--

[school bell rings]
[all gasp]

- Recess!

- Oh, yeah.
- Come on!

- Here we go.

- Come on,
let's play bubble hoops.

[upbeat music]

♪ ♪

[laughter]

♪ ♪

- Easy sh*t.
[grunts]

- I got it!
[whooshes]

♪ ♪

[laughs]

[whooshes]

♪ ♪

Yes.

- [gasps]

- Oops, my bad.

[soft dramatic music]

- Ah!

- Ah, it's okay.
It's only a dragonfly.

[upbeat music]

♪ ♪

- Oh, dragonflies
are super cool.

Look at its beautiful wings.

- I've seen dragonflies before.

They come to
my mom's garden sometimes.

- Yeah, I've noticed them
at the lake too.

- It's so fast.

- [squeaks]

Lucita: I tried to race
a dragonfly once.

I couldn't keep up.

Sara: And check out
how they fly.

They move up.
They move down.

They zig.
They zag.

- Sí, dragonflies
can fly any way they want

just by moving their wings.

- Really?
I have to see that slowed down.

Thought projecting.

They move up.
They move down.

They zig.
They zag.

Imagine if a gadget
could fly like that.

- Now that would be something.

♪ ♪

- [squeaks]

♪ ♪

- There it goes.
- Oh, bye-bye, dragonfly.

- Well, you still have
a few more minutes of recess.

- Let's get back
to playing bubble hoops.

- Coming, AJ?

- You go ahead.

I've got an idea
for a new gadget.

- Okay.

- Hm, aha.

♪ ♪

[whooshes]

♪ ♪

- [laughs]

- Okay, Sparks' Crew,
time to get back to class.

Uh, where's AJ?
- Right here.

- Whoa.
Sara: What is that?

- Presenting
the Dragonfly Drone.

- Whoa, cool.
- Amazing.

- Wow.
- AJ, fantástico.

- How do you steer it?
- I don't have to.

It can move any way it wants
just like a real dragonfly.

- Uh-oh.

Ah, it's going to crash!

- Oh, no, it won't.

[all sigh]

- I added a little part
so the drone

can tell when it gets
too close to something.

[drone beeps]

Then it changes direction.

- [chuckles]
Great idea.

- Seems like you thought
of everything.

- I sure did.

- So, uh, how do you
bring it down?

- Uh--uh-oh.

[soft dramatic music]

- It's kind of
getting far away.

- Oh, I'm sure
it will change directions

and come back anytime now.

♪ ♪

Uh.

♪ ♪

- It's gone.
My Dragonfly Drone, it's gone.

Uh, oh no, this isn't good.

[Sparkinator beeping]

- Wait, I hear it coming.

[beeping continues]

[dramatic music]

Oh, it's just
the Sparkinator.

The Sparkinator!
- There must be trouble.

- Ah, shoo!

- Oh no.
Help!

Help me!

- Well, the good news
is we know your drone

is at the park.

- The bad news--it's kind of
freaking people out.

- Oh, no.

- We have to go get
that Dragonfly Drone.

- Well, who's the crew
who knows what to do?

♪ ♪

[together]
Sparks' Crew to the Rescue.

♪ ♪

Sparks: Finding AJ's Dragonfly
Drone was the easy part.

Catching it, well, that was
going to be a little harder.

- Get away.
Shoo.

Whoa.

- [barks]

- Whoa!
Whoa.

Whoa!
- I've got this.

- Whoa!
Oh!

Whoa, whoa, whoa,
whoa, whoa, whoa!

- Sorry, Mr. Quivers.

- Come on, team,
let's catch that drone.

- Here you go.

[whooshes]

- [grunting]
[drone beeping]

♪ ♪

I have it.

Ah.

I don't have it.

♪ ♪

- [whooshes]

♪ ♪

[drone beeps]

♪ ♪

[beep, engine whooshes]

- [groans]

Whoa!

- Bubble up!

- It's heading toward the lake.
Let's go!

[drone beeps]

- How are we
gonna catch that thing?

♪ ♪

- Our superpowers
aren't enough.

- We need our other powers.

Our...

[together]
Superpowers of Science

- Let's start with the problem.

We can't catch
the Dragonfly Drone

because it turns away
whenever it gets too close

to something,
and it's super fast.

[drone beeps]

- [sighs]

Why did I have to make it
so much like a real dragonfly?

- Flying insects
are really hard to catch.

[fly buzzes]

[playful music]

- [croaks]

- [laughs]
Unless you're a frog!

- Did you see how fast
its tongue caught that fly?

- Hm.
[gasps]

Maybe we need
something like that

to catch the Dragonfly Drone.

- Yes, something long
and as fast as a frog's tongue.

Hmm.

[gasps]
I know what we can use.

My rope launcher.

It can go really fast,
and it's got a long rope.

- Perfect.
Come on, AJ.

[upbeat music]

Ready--now!

♪ ♪

[drone beeps]

- Oh.

- Ah!
- Ah!

both: Whoa!

[dramatic music]

- Whoa!
- Ah!

- Bubble up!

♪ ♪

Phew.
- [sighs]

- Come on.

♪ ♪

- [sighs]
Too bad my rope launcher

didn't work as well
as a frog's tongue.

- It was a good idea, AJ,

but maybe there's
something else in nature

that can give us another idea.

♪ ♪

- Ugh!
[laughs]

Whoa.
[laughs]

Oh, silly, sticky spiderweb.

[laughter]

- Spiderwebs aren't made
to catch you, Benny,

but it did catch that fly.

I guess the fly
flew right into it.

Spiderwebs are hard to see.

- Hm, you just gave me an idea.

Thought projecting!

If spiders make webs
to catch small insects,

what if we designed
a bigger web

to catch my Dragonfly Drone?

- It would have to be
a lot stronger

than that spiderweb.

- And hard to see.
- And sticky too.

- Hm, oh, oh,
I know what we can use.

Clear tape.

It's strong
and hard to see,

so my Dragonfly Drone

won't turn away
when it gets close.

- And it's sticky,
so the drone

might get stuck in it
like a fly in a spiderweb.

- Yeah, we could design
a solution to this problem.

That's a great
Superpower of Science.

- Let's do this!

[upbeat music]

♪ ♪

[whooshes]

♪ ♪

[whooshes]

♪ ♪

- [laughs]

Using the tape
was a great idea.

- Not bad
for first time web builders.

- Let's test it out.
[grunts]

[dramatic music]

- Huh, if our web
can't catch a stick,

how will it ever catch
AJ's Dragonfly Drone?

- Hm, we just need to make
a few changes to our design.

What if we add some more tape
to make these gaps smaller?

- Let's try it.

[upbeat music]

♪ ♪

Ta-da.

♪ ♪

- It looks
just like a spiderweb!

Nice job!
That should work.

- Now we just have to wait
for the Dragonfly Drone

to fly into it.

[dramatic music]

- Well, uh,
that could take days.

- Days?

But I have to be home
by dinnertime.

- Wait a minute, we know
the drone changes direction

when it gets close to things,
so maybe that can help us

guide it
right into our sticky web.

[upbeat music]

Dragonfly!

♪ ♪

Dragonfly.

[drone beeps]

Oh.

♪ ♪

- Whoa.
Boo.

[laughs]
Boo again.

[laughs]

♪ ♪

- I got you now.

[drone beeps]

♪ ♪

- [whooshes]

Stop, dragonfly!

[whooshes]

[drone beeps]

♪ ♪

- Yeah!
- Whoo-hoo!

- Ah, sweet!
- Yes!

Our tape web worked great.

- [grunting]

♪ ♪

And with a few changes,
I think I can make

my Dragonfly Drone
work better too.

- Now there's just one problem
left to solve.

How do I get
this sticky tape off me?

[giggles]
Whoa.

Whoa, it's sticky.

[laughter]

- Benny.

Sparks: So my naturally
heroic students

used ideas from nature

to catch
an unnatural dragonfly.

What could be more natural
than that?
