man: Practice!

Mr. Sparks:
There are some days

when things just go downhill.

- Oh, no!

Oh, no.
Look!

Move!
Runaway cart!

Oh, no!
Oh, watch out!

Ah, somebody help!

Bounceback: Whoo-hoo-hoo!

Mr. Sparks: But that
is when a hero can jump in

to save the day.

- It's Captain Bounceback!

- It is time to bounce!

[springs squeaking]

[exciting music]

[horns honking]

This calls
for my trusty Bounce-a-ma-bob!

[grunts]

♪ ♪

[wheels screech]

Ha!

[cheers and applause]

AJ: Whoa.
Sara: She's so cool!

Lucita: Did you see that?
AJ: That was good.

Lucita: Oh, my gosh!

- And that is why

Captain Bounceback
is my favorite bouncing hero.

- She sure can throw
that Bounce-a-ma-bob.

- I like how she bounces in
to save the day.

Like you, Benny.

- [squeaks]

[squeaks]

- [laughs]

Oh, Furry, you're the cutest!

[laughter]

- Yes, Captain Bounceback
is a true City Town hero,

which is why
they're putting a statue of her

in the park today.

- I can't wait to go
to the statue celebration.

Oh, when they show everyone
the statue for the first time.

I hear Captain Bounceback
herself will be there.

[The Sparkinator beeping]

Lucita: The Sparkinator!
There must be trouble.

- It's Captain Bounceback!

I mean the statue of her.

Mr. Sparks:
They must be moving it

into the park right now.

AJ: But it's not moving.

Look.
The truck has a flat tire.

- We have to help.

- Well, who's the crew
who knows what to do?

[exciting music]

all: Sparks' Crew
to the rescue!

- [whooshes]

[jets whooshing]

♪ ♪

[whooshes]
- Have no fear!

Sparks' Crew is--
- Dr. Inventorman?

What are you doing here?

- [grunts] I was trying
to move this statue I made.

- You made the statue
of Captain Bounceback?

I thought
you were a hero inventor.

- I am.

This time, I've made
an artistic invention.

I made this whole statue

using some super-special
secret stuff

I invented in my lab.

- Ooh.

What kind of super-special
secret stuff?

- You'll find out
at the statue celebration.

If I can ever get the statue
moved into place...

over there.

- I know one way
to get it there.

Maybe two.

- Oh, yes, Sara.

If you could move it,
that really would save the day.

And give me time to rush home
and, uh, clean up

before the statue celebration.

- You can count on us.

- [laughs]

Inventorman away!
[whooshes]

- I got this.

[whooshes]

[knuckles cr*ck]

[grunts]

Okay, tiny prob.

I can't see where I'm going!

Whoa!

- [squeaks]

- Couldn't you just teleport
the statue over to its spot?

- Oh. [laughs]
Good idea.

[whooshes]

[grunts]

Ah.

- [gasps]
Oh, no.

Look!
AJ: [gasps]

The Bounce-a-ma-bob broke!

- The Captain Bounceback statue
is ruined!

- Maybe if we find the piece
that broke off,

we can fix it.

- Well, where'd it go?

- [squeaking]

[squeaking]

- I don't see it.
- Oh!

I told Dr. Inventorman
he could count on us.

- [squeaks]

[frantic music]

[balloon pops]
[all scream]

[squeaks]
- [laughs]

I think Fur Blur knows
where the broken piece is.

- Come on!

Sara: Did you find it?

- [squeaks]

- Oh.
Now what are we gonna do?

- What we always do.

all: Superpowers of Science!

- Let's start by investigating.

- Okay.

Let's take a closer look
at the statue

so we know what the broken-off
piece looks like.

[jets whooshing]

- Hmm.

The bottom part
of the Bounce-a-ma-bob

is long and flat.

- So the missing piece
should be long and flat too.

[dog barking]

- Listen.
[dog whining]

Sounds like a dog...

in trouble!

- We'll keep looking
for the missing piece.

You go help the dog.

- I'm coming, puppy!

- Me too!

[whooshes]

[dog barking]
Mr. Quivers: Oh, Bitsy!

Come back!
- [whooshes]

What's going on, Mr. Quivers?

- I was throwing sticks
for Bitsy to chase

and she just started...
bouncing.

As you can see.
[dog whines]

Benny: Fear not!

We shall catch her for you!

- [whooshes]

- [grunts]
I got you.

Oh, no, I don't.

- [whooshes]

[gasps]
I got you!

- Wait!
Come here!

- Ah!
- Whoa!

both: Oof!

[both groan]

- That broken-off piece has
to be around here somewhere.

[mysterious music]

- Look!
Over there!

[jets whooshing]

Maybe this is
the broken-off piece.

- Let's use
our Superpowers of Science

and compare it to the statue
to see if it matches.

[jets whooshing]

- Hmm.

Looking at the two parts
side by side,

they're both long and flat.

Lucita: But
the Bounce-a-ma-bob is gray

and this piece is brown.

- Mm-hmm.

It feels different too.

The statue is smooth,
but this piece is rough.

- Dr. Inventorman said
he made the whole statue

out of some super-special
secret stuff.

- So the broken-off piece
should look and feel the same

as the rest of it.

This doesn't.

- I don't think
this is the piece.

- [sighs]

Let's keep looking.

[jets whooshing]

- Oh, come here.
Oh, Bitsy.

Oh!

- [squeaks]
[dog whining]

[squeaks]

- Come on, Bitsy.

- [squeaking]

- Uh, what's that, Fur Blur?

Uh, mouth.

Mm, uh, uh--oh, Bitsy's mouth!

- [squeaks]

- Oh.

You think Bitsy's hungry!

- [squeaks]

- Maybe we could get her
to bounce over here

if we give her a treat.

- Oh, I do have some treats
in my bag.

Eh, here you go.
- Thanks.

Here, Bitsy!

Doggy yummies.

[dog barks]

[victorious music]

- Huh?
She stopped bouncing.

Mr. Quivers: Oh, Bitsy!

Oh, I'm so glad you're okay.

- [squeaks]

- Oh, you're a sight
for sore eyes.

[boinging]

[both yelp]
My bag!

It's bouncing away!

- First a bouncing dog,
now a bouncing bag?

- We'll get it.
- [whooshes]

Mr. Sparks:
While Benny and Sara

kept missing
the bouncing bag,

the Bounce-a-ma-bob piece
was still missing.

- [gasps]
Aha!

[upbeat music]

Could this be it?

- Let's go compare.

[jets whooshing]

Well, it is long and flat,

just like the broken
Bounce-a-ma-bob.

- And it's also smooth
and gray,

just like the whole statue.

I think we found
the missing piece.

[laughs]
Yes!

[suspenseful music]

[both gasp]
[metal clangs]

- Huh?

Wait a minute.

That sounds like
it's made of metal.

[metal clangs]
Yup, it's metal.

- But the statue's not made
of metal,

so this can't be the piece
that broke off.

- And it's almost time
for the statue celebration.

What do we do?

- I guess
we get the statue ready

and hope that we can still find
the missing piece in time.

Let's take off the ropes.

[boinging]

[gasps]
The statue!

It's bouncing all by itself!

- Tie it back up, quick!

[gasps]

I bet that's
Dr. Inventorman's secret.

The statue's super-special
secret stuff is bouncy,

just like Captain Bounceback.

- And since
the broken-off piece

is the same stuff
as the statue...

[gasps]

Then the missing piece
must bounce too!

[boinging]

- [grunts]
Gotcha!

Oh! Whoa!

- [whooshes]
[sleeve screen beeps]

- Sara, Benny,
we have new information.

The missing piece bounces.

- Bounces?

[boinging]

I think we know where it is.

[boinging]

- Oh!
There it goes!

- [whooshes]
- Catch it!

It's heading towards the lake!

- I got this!

[whooshes]

Gotcha!
[grunts]

- Oh, no!

[gasps]
Mm-hmm!

[heroic music]

As Captain Bounceback
would say,

time to bounce.

[bubbles pop]

[boinging]

Aha!

[whooshes]
- Whoo-hoo!

You did it, Benny!

- Now let's get this
back to the statue fast.

It's almost time
for the celebration.

Whoa!

Lucita, AJ,
we found the missing piece.

- [whooshing]

Sara: Dr. Inventorman.

Bad news and good news.

We kind of had a little problem
with your statue.

- Huh?

Ooh, yes.

But you found the part
that broke off?

- We sure did.

- Let's compare to make sure.

Smooth and gray,

long and flat.

Lucita: And made of the same
bouncy stuff.

This has to be it.

- But how do we fix it?

- I've got just the invention
for that.

My Glue Copter!

[rotors whirring]

[light music]

♪ ♪

- Oh.

Wah!

AJ: Yeah!
Way to go, Benny!

- A super success!
- Whoo-hoo!

- And just in time
for the celebration.

- Look at that.
Mr. Sparks: Wow.

Now, that is
a beautiful statue.

- And so, ladies and gentlemen,
that is why today

we honor this great hero,
Captain Bounceback.

[cheers and applause]
- Thank you.

Thank you all so much.

- Wow!
- Go, Captain Bounceback!

- Whoo-hoo!
- Ah, she's awesome.

- Oh, I love her!

- Wow!
- Ooh!

- Amazing!

Mr. Sparks: The captain
isn't the only hero

that can bounce back.

Even when things
are falling apart,

you can always count
on Sparks' Crew

to pick up the pieces.

Mr. Sparks:
At Hero Elementary,

our students learn
that when it comes

to solving problems,

it helps
to look at the big picture.

- Why are we looking at these
big pictures of Fur Blur?

They're exactly the same.

- Ah, but look closer
at the details.

What's different?

all: Hmm.

[bright music]

- [gasps]
This is a snap.

[whooshes]

Her hamster wheel is smaller
in that one.

- Aww!

The cutie's holding
a sunflower seed

in this one.

- [squeaks]

[chomps]

- Oh, hello, Mr. Sparks.

I'm looking for the library.

- [gasps]

Dr. Inventorman?

What are you doing here?

- I came to give the library
this old book of mine.

[inhales, blows sharply]

- [coughs]
Wow.

That must be old.

- Well, it was from when I was
about your age.

It's called "Inventions,
Inventions, Inventions."

- Wait.

Is that a book
about inventions?

- That's right.

In fact, this book helped me

come up with
my very first invention.

- Whoa!

- What did you invent?

- I--

[laughs]

I don't remember.

all: Aww.

- But I do remember

I hid my invention
to keep it safe.

- Ooh.
Where'd you hide it?

- I--well, I--

Hmm.

I'm not sure.

all: Aww.

- I know I buried it
underground

and I took a picture
of the spot

and circled it in red ink
so I would never forget.

- So where's the picture?

- I--

[laughs]

I forgot.

[all groan]

Mm, it was a long time ago.

- [sighs]

A great Inventorman invention
lost forever.

- Aww, that's too bad.

[alarm blaring]

- Oh! Oh, my.

There's an invention emergency.

I must go.

Good-bye, kids.

Inventorman away!

[whooshes]

- Wow.

I bet this book is full
of ideas for new inventions.

Huh?

- Whoa.
What's this?

Mr. Sparks: Looks like a photo
from a long time ago.

- [gasps]

It must belong
to Dr. Inventorman.

Sara: Huh.

Why is that part
circled in red?

- [gasps]

I think this is the picture

Dr. Inventorman
was talking about.

Remember?

He said he circled the place
where he buried his invention

in red ink.

- So that might be the spot?

- Could be.

- But how do we know
where that is?

Could be anywhere.

- Maybe you can figure it out.

- We can look closer

at all the details
in the picture.

- Well, I see two white trees

that crisscross
over the circle.

Sara: Hey,
they look like the letter X.

- [gasps]
And X marks the spot.

- Ah.

What else does this picture
tell us?

Sara: The trees are near
a waterfall.

AJ: It's the City Town
waterfall.

Look!

There's Hero Hill,
the biggest hill in town.

- This means we know

where Dr. Inventorman buried
his invention.

- If we can dig it up,

it could be
the biggest discovery ever!

We have to go find it...

for Dr. Inventorman

and for the world!
Lucita: [laughs]

It'll be like a treasure hunt.

- [squeaking excitedly]

- Let's do this.

- Fantástico!

Who's the crew
who knows what to do?

[exciting music]

all: Sparks' Crew
to the rescue!

- [whooshes]

[jets whooshing]

Mr. Sparks:
It was a picture-perfect day

to search
for a buried treasure,

and my students had
the perfect picture

to help them.

- Okay, team.

Let's find
that buried invention.

- Okay.

Um...how do we know
we're in the right place?

- Well, we've got the picture.

That should help us
figure it out.

- Yeah, we can
look at the details

and use our...

all: Superpowers of Science!

- Let's start by comparing

to see if the picture
matches up

with what's around us.

- Okay.

There's a river in the picture

and a waterfall.

- I see the river right there.

And there's the waterfall.

- And look.

Hero Hill,

Hero Hill.

It matches.

We're in the right place.

- But things look different
too.

There's so many big trees here.

They're not in the picture.

- No, but there were
some small trees.

- And Dr. Inventorman took
that picture a long time ago,

when he was a kid.

Trees could've grown a lot
since then.

- But where are the trees
we need to find?

- I don't see trees like that
anywhere around here.

- Then we'll just have
to look for them.

Let's split up.

AJ and I will search
from the sky.

- And we'll search
on the ground.

- Let's go!

♪ ♪

I notice lots of trees,

but I don't see any
that make an X

like we saw in the picture.

- Huh.

And I notice something else.

Follow me.

See this path?

It looks different
than it did in the photo.

Thought projecting.

Remember?

In Dr. Inventorman's picture,

there was a wooden path
next to the river.

But compare it to here,

the river's flowing
over the path now.

- You're right.

The river looks much wider now.

AJ: Why would the river
be wider now

than when Dr. Inventorman
was a kid?

- I don't know.

Let's investigate
and find out.

[gasps]
AJ, look!

[gasps] Part of the path
just broke off.

I didn't know
water could be strong enough

to wash away a path.

[water splashes]

- Looks like it washed away
some of the land too.

- I guess that's how the river
gets wider and wider.

It slowly washes away
more and more land.

- And if that can change,

maybe all sorts of things
changed

since Dr. Inventorman
was younger.

- I hope those crisscrossed
trees are still here...

somewhere.

♪ ♪

- [whooshes]

Hmm...

not the right trees.

[whooshes]

Not the right trees.

[whooshes]

Not the right trees!

- Remember,
they're probably bigger now

than they were
in that old picture.

- Well, in that case...

[whooshes]

Not the right trees.

- Hmm.

[gasps]
Look, Sara.

Over there!

- This tree is white
and it's leaning.

Compare it to the picture.

It looks
exactly like this tree,

except bigger.

- But we're looking
for two trees that crisscross.

And there's no other tree.

The land just goes downhill
from here.

- Yeah.

I guess you're...
[screaming] Right!

- [gasps] Benny!

- Bubble up!

[laughs]
That's better.

Whee!

- Benny, look!

- Huh?

Oh, no!

[screaming]

[both gasp]

- We have to help!

Benny, grab my hand!

[both grunting]

- I can't!

- Try to grab this hand.

♪ ♪

Uh-oh.
Ah!

[all screaming]

- I'm coming!
[whooshes]

- Whoa!

[shoes screeching]
- [grunts]

[all scream]

[all grunt]

[all groaning]

- Phew.

Looks like
you weren't the only thing

that slid down this hill.

Some trees and rocks
and land did too.

- I guess that's another way
land can change.

- [gasps]
Do you see what I see?

[whooshes]

Check it out,
a white tree,

like the one
in Dr. Inventorman's picture.

AJ: But there are supposed
to be two crisscrossing trees.

- [gasps]

We found another one
at the top of the hill.

- Looks like this tree
used to be up there,

but it slid down.

- [gasps]
Could this be the missing tree?

- Let's find out!

[grunts]

[whooshes]

♪ ♪

- [gasps]
This is it!

- X marks the spot.

- Yah! [whooshes]

- This is where
Dr. Inventorman buried

his very first invention.

- Let's just hope it didn't
fall down the hill too.

- I'll start digging.

[machine whirs slowly]

- Can I try?

[grunts]
[whirring speeds up]

- Whoa!
- Ah!

- Amazing!

[metal clangs]

all: Oh.

- Ooh, this is it!

I can't wait to see
what's inside.

- Ooh!

Oh, wait, AJ.

There's something written
on the side.

- Huh?

"Only to be open by Martin."

Who's Martin?
- Oh, no!

Did we find
someone else's treasure?

- "By Martin Inventorman."

- Martin must be
Dr. Inventorman's first name.

- Come on!

Let's get his invention
back to him.

- [whooshes]
[jets whooshing]

- My very first invention!

I can't believe you found it!

- Well, we found
your picture first,

so we knew where to look.

- The land changed a lot
since you took that picture,

but we found
where you buried it.

- Way to go, class!

- [squeaking]

- I can't wait to see
what I invented

all those years ago.

- Oh, me neither.

- [gasps]

Oh.

Now I remember.

- What is it? What is it?

- Presenting

It lets you take pictures--

AJ: Wow!
Sara: Ooh!

- [laughs]
- I can't believe it!

- Oh, cool!

- You invented

- [laughs]

- [squeaks]

lots of things can change
over time,
