It looks like a haunted house.

- I wonder if any ghosts
live there.

- There's no such thing
as ghosts, gil.

Ghosts are just pretend.

- Come on, bubble puppy.

Let's go.

[Door creaks]

aah! A ghost!

- Aah!

Arf!

Yikes!

You guys startled me.

- Hey, you're not a ghost.

- [Chuckles]
no, I'm not.

- [Whimpers]

- What's all this
spooky stuff for?

- These are decorations
for the party tonight.

- Party?

- You're having a party?

- That's right,
a haunted house party.

It's gonna be really spoooooky.

- Whooooooo.

- A g-g-g-g-g-g...

Both: ghost!

- Boo.

Both: aah!

- Oh, that's just igor.

- Hi.

[Both giggling]

- Hi.
- Hi.

- Igor is helping me
with the decorations.

We're going to have
rubber bats, creepy spiders,

And all sorts
of jack-o'-lanterns.

[Thunder rumbles]

Ooh, igor,
we better get inside

And finish getting everything
ready for the party.

We'll see you tonight.

And don't forget to wear
a spooooky costume.

- It sounded like a ghost.

[Both giggling]

- Wow, ho ho.

You guys sounded really spooky.

- We saw a haunted house.

- Yeah.

And there's going to be

A haunted house party
there tonight.

- A haunted house party?

With real ghosts?

- There's no such thing
as ghosts,

Are there, mr. Grouper?

- Nope, there are no such things
as ghosts,

But it sure is fun to pretend.

- A g-g-g-g...

Ghost!

- [Laughs]

There's no ghost there.

- Oh, boy, gil.

You know,
that was really spooky.

- Have you ever been
to a haunted house before,

Mr. Grouper?

- I sure have.

- What was it like?

- Let's think about it.

It was a dark and spooky night,

And there was
a haunted house on a hill.

And when I got up to the house,
I opened the big creaky...

[Creaking]

- Door.

- A door.

And when I went inside...

Pop!

All the lights went off.

So it was really...

- Dark.

- Whoa, it was really dark.

And then, in the darkness,
I saw a big orange...

Pop!

- Pumpkin.

But a pumpkin isn't spooky.

- It's not until you carve
a spooky face on it.

Then you call it
a jack-o'-lantern.

Both: spooooky.

Pop!

[Door creaks open]

- ♪ Things that go bump

♪ In the middle of the night

♪ Witches and bats
and things that take flight ♪

♪ Vampires, goblins,
strange and bizarre ♪

♪ Let's all go
where the weird things are ♪

She's making the wrong sounds.

Your kitty needs
a "meow now" potion,

A very hot potion.

Whoo, hot!

Okay.

We got a bunch
of hot ingredients here:

A hot dog,
a bowl of soup,

A piece of cheese,
and a cup of hot cocoa.

Let's just mix
these hot things toge--

- Uh, excuse me, but
one of those things isn't hot.

- Really?

I need your help.

Which one of these things
is not hot?

The hot dog,
the soup,

The cheese,
or the hot cocoa?

Both: the cheese.

- Oh, yeah.

This cheese isn't hot.

Pop!

Okay, one hot pet potion
coming right up.

Boom!

[Coughing]

Whoo.

That should do it.

Your cat should meow now.

- [Meows]

- Kitty!

- You're welcome.

[Clock chimes]

- It's time for lunch.

on whole grain bread.

- I got tomato and cheese
on whooooole wheat bread.

- It's a sand-witch.

[Thunder rumbles]

That's spooky.

- It's fun to decorate
with spooky stuff.

Ooh, a spiderweb.

That looks spooky.

A rubber spider.

Wow, a giant rubber bat.

This is really spooky.

[Squeaks]

- [In deep voice]

It's only pretend.

[Thunder rumbles]

- Pretty spooky, all right.

- Look at my jack-o'-lantern,
mr. Grouper.

It's gonna take something
spookier than that to scare me.

- What about that vampire?

[Laughter]

- [Imitating dracula]

for the haunted house party?

- I don't know.

A ghost is a great costume
for the party.

- Maybe I'll be a werewolf.

- Let's think about

We can wear
to the haunted house party.

There was a zombie.

- One night, the zombie
saw something spooky.

I'm getting out of here.

- So the zombie ran away
as fast as she could.

- Hey, wait.
Come back.

- And soon she came
to a spooky motel.

[Thunder rumbles]

- Maybe I can hide there.

Eek!

- Welcome to the monster motel,
sweetie.

- There's something spooky
following me.

I need a room to hide in.

- Spooky?
Well, what was it?

- I don't know,

But it makes
a really spooky shadow.

- Well, we have one room left.

- Hurry.
Here it comes.

- Yikes!
That is a spooky shadow.

Let's get out of here.

- Wait.

Oh.

- We need to find
the right door.

the picture on my keys?

- This one!

- Right.

- It's the jack-o'-lantern.

- Hurry!
Open the door.

It's coming.

- Uh-oh.

There are three keys,
and only one will open the door.

- Hurry!
It's almost here.

- These keys all have
different shapes.

the jack-o'-lantern's mouth?

- This one!

- Yeah!
Let's try it.

It worked.

- Let's go inside.

- Shh.

- I don't hear anything.

- Maybe it's gone.

[Door creaks]

Ah.

- Hey.
You're not spooky.

You're a mouse.

- Trick or cheese!

Both: trick or cheese?

- Here you go, honey.

- Thank you.

- You're welcome.

Is there anything else?

- Mm-hmm.

- What is it, little mouse?

- Boo!

- [Giggles]

- And they all lived
spookily ever after.

- Hooray!
- All right!

- Yay!

- If you want to be
really spooky,

You can dress up in a costume.

I'm dressed up like a witch.

- I am the mummy.

- Wow, gilly,
that's a really good costume.

- M-m-m-mummy!

Aah!

- [Laughs]

- Come, my friends.

It is time
for the haunted house party.

- Come on!

[Thunder rumbles]

- Oh, boy.
That's a really spooky house.

[Thunder rumbles]

- Let's go.

[Doorbell rings]

[Door creaks]

- Good evening.

[Thunder rumbles]

Both: hi, igor.

- Hey, guys.
Glad you could make it.

Welcome to the haunted house.

- It's spooky in here.

- It sure is.

- Right this way.

Arf!

- Good evening.

I have some grave news.

- What does that mean?

- That means bad.

- Uh-oh.

- I cannot find
the main ingredient

For my party potion.

Somewhere in this house is
a very spooky jack-o'-lantern,

But I don't know where.

- We'll help you find it.

- Are you sure?

It's very spooky.

[All affirming]

Now go and find
the very spooky jack-o'-lantern.

Then bring it to me,
and the party can begin.

[Thunder rumbles]

- All right.
- Yeah.

- Come on.
- Whoo!

- Come on, let's go.
- Yeah.

- Come on.

Maybe the spooky jack-o'-lantern
is up here.

Look at all
the jack-o'-lanterns.

- Okay, we found them.

Let's go.

- We have to find
the spooky one,

Or the party can't start.

Is the spooky one?

- This one.

[Thunder crackles]

Both: eeh!

- Yeah.

This jack-o'-lantern
is really spooky.

Thanks for your help.

- Come on.
Let's get out of here.

- Okay.

- It's--it's--it's the ghost!

- Look what we found.

- Excellent.

- Goby.

Goby.
The ghost.

I saw it again.

- Gather around, everyone.

Goby has found
the spooky jack-o'-lantern.

- Oh.
- Good job, goby.

- And now...

The haunted house party
can begin.

[All cheering]

Poof!

- Wearing a black dress
and pointy black hat,

She's molly the witch.

- Goby, I really saw
the ghost again.

- All right.
- Awesome.

- Next on the black catwalk...

- But ghosts are just pretend.

- But I saw one.

It's here in the haunted house.

- Nonny the vampire.

[All cheering]

- Gil, there's no such thing
as ghosts.

- Then what's that?

- [Gasps]

[Spooky music]



- Mr. Grouper,
save us!



Arf!

- I think I know
who that ghost is.

Do you know
who's under the sheet?

Who is it?

[Together]
bubble puppy?

Both: bubble puppy?

Arf!

[Together]

- He was the ghost all along?

- He was just pretending
to be a ghost.

- Whew.
What a relief.

- Bubble puppy.

[Laughter]

- That was really spooky,
right, everyone?

- It sure was.

[Laughs]

- That was a really
spooky party, huh, gil?

- Yeah.
Totally spooky.

I thought bubble puppy
was a real ghost.

- But, gilly, you know there's
no such thing as a real ghost.

They're just pretend.

- Gil, that's just
bubble puppy again.

- [Panting]
