Queen of the Night.

These are my
Sprites of Night,

and that is
the Temple of Night.

Can you tell I'm
in love with night?

- Really? Night? You?
- (Cat): I had no idea!

- When the sky is dark
but the moon and stars glow...

I love every hour

of night.
At five or six o'clock

you get to have dinner...
- Dinner can be very tasty.

- Yeah!
- At seven or eight,

you're getting ready for bed...
- Brushin' your teeth.

- Brushy-brushy!
- By nine or ten

you're sleeping,

right through eleven
and twelve midnight.

- And after twelve,
the numbers go back to one

and start over again, right?

It goes one, two,
three o'clock...

- And everyone keeps
right on sleeping

when it's four o'clock,
five, six...

'Til the sun rises,

and night turns into...DAY!

- OK... Well,

we should be getting to bed
ourselves now, right, Cat?

Cat? I can't find Cat!
I've got a--

- (sprites):
♪ --really big problem ♪

(playing ominous
trumpet flourish)

- There was someone with you?

- (Peg): You didn't notice Cat
'cause I'm always saying stuff

and he doesn't say much,

and cause he's a lot smaller
than me. We're different
in a ton of ways.

But I really miss that
quiet little guy!

- I think I know who
took your friend!

- Who?
- The same person
who sent a dragon after you!

♪♪ The King of Day
My enemy, I fear him ♪

- He lives over there?
- ♪ He won't let me near him ♪

♪ You could get to him
I'm sure ♪

- Me?
- ♪ Go set Cat free ♪

♪ Go snatch him from my
sunny, sunny neighbour ♪

♪ Then do the Queen of Night
a little favour ♪

♪ To punish him ♪

♪ For all he's done before ♪
- OK...

- ♪ Get very, very near ♪
- Uh-huh...

- ♪ And laugh right in his ear ♪
- Laugh in his ear?

- I gotta climb those stairs,
right? And then go...

- Got it!

- Yo, call off your
bats and owls, Your Night-ness!

- My creatures of the night will
move away from a step

if you walk along
its line of symmetry.

- Its what?

(snapping fingers)

- (sprites): ♪ The line
of symmetry's the name ♪

♪ Of the line that makes
both sides the same ♪

- The line of symmetry goes
right down the middle.

- It can go up and down...

- It can go straight across...

- It can go from
the top on one side

to the bottom on the other!

- But I don't see a line down
the middle of any of
these shapes.

(snapping)

- ♪ You'll find the lines
and walk across them gayly ♪

♪ If you play this
magic ukulele ♪

- A uke with magic powers?

Alrighty, Miss Nighty!

(ukulele makes the sounds
of many instruments)

This baby sounds good!

There's the line of symmetry
on that moon shape!

When I walk along the line
of symmetry,

the bats and owls move

and groove.

- (sprites): ♪ You solved the
mysterious riddle ♪

♪ That line going right down
the middle ♪

♪ You're crossing each moon
and each star ♪

♪ You've reached the King's
wall, here you are ♪

- (Peg): Whoa!

- ♪♪ Welcome here, where it's
clear and it's light out ♪

♪ Come and stay in the day,
shut the night out ♪

♪ Have a ball where it always
is bright out ♪

♪ Play and sing in the kingdom
of day ♪

- Ramone? You're working
for the King of Day?

- I tame his tigers.
(tiger roaring)

- (Ramone): Sit!
(purring)

- So, Mr. King of Day,
you seem like a really nice guy,

but the Queen of Night
told me that--

- ♪ I did not send that dragon,
No, she did ♪

- Why would the Queen
send a dragon?

- ♪ To get you to come here
To get me, kid ♪

- She said you have Cat.

- ♪ I brought Cat over here
to be free, kid ♪

♪ Free from night so in light
He could play ♪

- (together): ♪ In the glorious
Kingdom of Day ♪♪

- (Peg): So where's Cat
hanging out?

- Not here, on the side of the
temple dedicated to morning.

- So at five or six,
the sun's rising

and you might
still be asleep,

but by seven
it's definitely morning

and you're getting up.

Eight and nine and ten o'clock
are morning times too...

- Cat's not on the side
dedicated to lunch time.

- Eleven o'clock,
twelve noon,

and then just like at
twelve midnight, the numbers

start over again.

One, two, three,
four o'clock...

- He should be here, on the side
dedicated to that time of day

after noon called "afternoon".
- Cat?

- (Cat): Peg-arino!
I'm riding a tiger! Ha ha!

- Cat and I
are so different!

I have, like, zero interest in
riding a tiger, but Cat's

totally into flipping up and--
- (Cat): Ahh!

- --over the wall?
(banging on door)

Come on back in, Ca-- Ahh!

- You !
♪ Ha ha ha ha ♪

- ♪ Ho ho ho ho
- Ha ha ha ha ♪

- I hate to interrupt
your laughing, but--

- ♪ You used your dragon to get
this kid up here to scare me ♪

- Could one of you--
- ♪ You're always getting ♪

♪ Light on my side
It's so annoying ♪

- Help me find Cat?
- ♪ Darkness is boring ♪

- Oh, well. I can get Cat
without them,

long as I've got my magic uke

to show me the lines of symmetry
on the steps.

(playing magic ukulele)

- (King of Day): ♪ You threw
a moon at me? Who does that ♪

- ♪ You bumped me with a sun ♪

- ♪ You gave me a noogie
with an asteroid ♪

- Without that door there's way
too much light!

I can't see the lines
of symmetry on the steps.

- Please help me!
- ♪ Your bats and owls ♪

♪ Are creepy!
- Excuse me ♪

♪ You keep tigers, tigers ♪

- There's nobody to help me.
I'll never reach Cat!

I am totally freaking--
(ukulele strumming)

- Magic uke? Are you trying
to tell me something?

(playing flourish)

- I can find
a line of symmetry myself

by just folding the shape?

(playing different flourish)
- And if both sides

are the same,
the line I folded it along

is the line of symmetry?
(strumming rapidly)

That is one smart musical
instrument!

♪ When I fold it this way
it's not even ♪

- (sprites): ♪ Don't give up
Keep on believin' ♪

- ♪ Now both sides
line up perfectly ♪

- ♪ You've found the line of
symmetry ♪

- ♪ Folding is the key ♪

- Made it to the Land of Night.

but today I, Peg, am making

instruments out of...junk!
(strumming ukulele)

- And I'm making instruments
out of me.

- And as we play these
cool instruments,

we're going
to totally rock out...in three.

- Totally rockin' in three!

...Say what?
- Usually, we play music

in four. That means
we use a musical pattern

where the b*at goes...

One, two, three, four...
- (both): One, two, three, four!

- But when you're playing
in three, the b*at goes

one, two, three...

- (birds) ♪ Tweet tweet tweet ♪
- One, two, three

One, two, three.

- ♪ You can dance and sing
and shake your thing ♪

- (Cat): ♪ I can waltz and
groove and really move ♪

♪ In one, two, three
One, two, three ♪

- ♪ Smooth and nimbly
skipping simply ♪

- ♪ In lovely
- (all): One, two, three ♪♪

(twanging)
- Whoa!

- My string broke!
Without a string to strum,

I can't play music in three
or four or anything!

This is a big problem!

- Yeah! Whoa...

OK... Wahoo!

- That's it, you up-down,

over-and-around genius!
- Huh?

- (Peg): You went flying up...

- Way away
from the ground.

- Then down...
- Right back towards the ground.

- Up and down
are opposites, Cat.

That means
they're totally different.

- Then I went over you...

- Right up over my head
onto that wheel,

and then you went in circles
around the wheel.

- And how does all that
make me a genius?

- Because we can move this old
wire in those four ways

to replace the string on my uke.
Check it out!

- First we'll pull
the wire up,

and then we'll pull
this end down.
- Up and down!

- Next we'll bring it over
this knobby thingy,

and then we'll
wrap it around.

- Round and around
and around... Yeah!

- We fixed my uke, and so...
(strumming rapidly)

- Can we change things up
and sing it in three?

- Go for it, Cat!

- ♪ One, two, three,
One, two, three ♪

- ♪ Tweet tweet tweet
- Problem solved ♪

♪ The problem is solved ♪

♪ We solved the problem ♪

♪ Problem solved ♪

(tinkling musically)
- Whoa-ho-ho-ho-ho!

- Coolest junk instrument ever!

Was it made by a famous
instrument maker,

or aliens, or...

(blowing raspberries)

- Baby Fox?
- Whoa, baby!

(instrument clanging
and tooting musically)

(birds singing along)

- ♪♪ (Ludwig): Help me, help me,
help me, help me, please ♪

♪ Help me, please
Help me, please ♪

- (Peg): Ludwig Van Beethoven!

- ♪ I am stuck up
in the airy air ♪

♪ And swinging by
my derriere ♪

♪ Help me, help me, help me,
help me please ♪

♪ Help me, please
Help me, please ♪

- How did you get
stuck up there, Ludwig?

- ♪ I got tripped up
and then I flopped ♪

♪ Upon that pot
Then down I dropped ♪

- ♪ And now you're stuck.
- Yes I'm stuck, stinky luck ♪

♪ Oh, phooey yuck
I'm stuck ♪♪

- Peg und Cat! I came to jam
with the cute baby

that goes...
(blowing raspberries)

...but then I tripped and got
all tangled up in this stuff!

- Don't worry Ludwig,
we'll climb up there...

(instrument honking and tooting)
...and balance on this thingy,

un-hook your bottom
and get you free... Whoa!

- (Peg and Cat): Ahh!

- (Cat): We did not
get you free.

- You got
yourselves stuck.

- And now we've all got a...
- (all): ...really big problem!

- Oh, well.
- Cat, why are you just

lying there?
- He said we're stuck!

That means we can't
do anything, right?

- Being stuck is a part of
solving a problem, Cat.

It doesn't mean you're done,
it means

you're just getting started.
So come on everybody, think!

(playing piano)
- You too, Ludwig!

- Music helps me think.

- (Peg): Yes! That's it!

Baby Fox isn't stuck,
so he can help us.

- We just need to get him to
climb up and move

just the right pieces
to set us free.

(giggling)
- Uh... Good luck with that.

- Now you're thinking, Cat.

That lever makes the bucket
go up and down.

- Huh?
- If you push up...

- (Ludwig): ...the bucket
will go down!

- Hey Baby Fox,
wanna go for a ride?

(babbling)

- (chuckling) Elevator music!

- (Peg): ♪ Going up up
uppity up up up ♪

- (Baby Fox): Hi...
(Cat laughing)

- Ho-ho! That tickles.
- You genius baby!

When you tickle Cat,
he moves pieces

over other pieces.
- And why is that good?

- 'Cause if you keep
moving pieces,

you just might move them the
right way to get us untangled!

- Oh, oh! Peg!
Will it help even more

if I move the pieces a different
way, too? Yeah?

- (Peg): Great idea, Ludwig!
The more different ways

we move pieces, the better!

So you push pieces up,

and I'll pull pieces down,

while Baby Fox tickles Cat...
(both laughing)

...to keep him
moving pieces over!

- Genius!
- And since we're moving pieces

three different ways,
we can use

the three-b*at
musical pattern.

One, two, three!
One, two, three!

- ♪ Pushing up
- Pulling down ♪

- ♪ Pushing over, ha ha ♪

- ♪ Pushing up
- Pulling down ♪

- ♪ Pushing over, tra la ♪

- It's working!
We'll be free in no time -

just like those pieces!

- (Cat): Shiny triangles!
(Baby Fox blowing raspberries)

- They make me think of our pink
barnyard friend...

- Who is totally crazy
about triangles...
(Peg and Cat gasping)

- (Peg and Cat): The Pig!

- ♪ Triangles ♪

♪ One, two, three ♪

♪ The perfect shape ♪

♪ For me ♪

- (all): Whoa...

Yay!

...Aw!
- (Cat): We're stuck again!

So now can we give up?
- No way!

Now we try even harder.
- Huh?

- On the way to solving
some problems,

you get stuck a lot.

So you keep thinking,
keep pushing,

keep trying 'til you
solve the problem,

and you're totally unstuck
for good!

Let's look
on the bright side.

Now we have another friend
to join us

on our quest to get
out of here.

- (Cat): Uh, right...
- (Ludwig): OK...

- Help me out here!

- ♪ Down and around ♪

- (Ludwig and Cat): Down
and around?

- ♪ Down and around ♪

- (Peg): The Pig has an idea!

Something to do with
down and around...

(playing gentle piano music)

- (chuckling): Down
and around music.

- Hmmm... Maybe
if we push down...

- ...or twist around?

(Baby Fox giggling)
(Big Mouth grunting)

- (Peg): Baby Fox is down there,

being chased all around!

- (Cat): By Big Mouth!

- (Ludwig): Chase music!

- Big Mouth loves
little yellow things.

That little yellow hat makes
Baby Fox like candy to him.

If we don't get unstuck soon
to help Baby Fox,

he'll be Big Mouth's snack!

- True that!
- Hurry, everybody!

Pull up, down,
and over in three.

- Um, for the record,
we, uh, tried that!

- Try harder! ...Down!
- Up!

- Over!
- Up!

- Down! ...We're getting
almost untangled,

but we're still tangled.
We're not quite free.

And now even I am...

...totally freaking out!

(blowing whistle)

- Cat's right. I'll count
in that three b*at pattern

to calm down. One, two, three,
one, two, three.

- One, two, three, four,
one, two, three four.

- That's it, you genius
pattern-changing Cat!

- Huh?
- Moving stuff three

different ways
almost gets us free.

So moving stuff four ways
might do the trick!

What do you say
we move pieces

up down over and around?

- (Ludwig): While moving pieces
four ways, could we do it
in four?

- For sure!
- (Cat): Let's rock!

- (laughing): That's
the spirit, Cat.

- Ya-ha! Rocking out
in four music!

(grunting and giggling)

- On the count of four, we'll
move pieces

up down and over, and Pig,

you move pieces around.

- One, two, three, four!
- Up!

- Down!
- Over

- Around!

- (Cat): Game over, Big Mouth!
- Drats!

(babbling)

- Baby Fox doesn't like seeing
Big Mouth sad,

so he's making him
a little yellow horn.

(babbling)
(blowing horn)

- (all): Aww!
- (Big Mouth): Aww...

- Since we knew musical
patterns,

and up, down,
over and around,

we got free
and saved Baby Fox.

- Math can get you
unstuck for good!

- And so...

- ♪♪ Problem solved
The problem is solved ♪

♪ We solved the problem
- So everything is awesome ♪

- ♪ Problem solved ♪♪
- Hey, everybody,

wanna jam?
- I'm in!

- Uh-huh!
- Oh, yeah!

- Oh... If only we had a
conductor to help us
keep the b*at.

- (Ramone): Did somebody
say "conductor"?

- (Peg): Ramone?
- (Ludwig): Perfect timing!

- I know, right?

- Okay everybody, in three!

- (Peg and Cat): ♪♪ Here we all
will jam and be-bop slam ♪

- (Ludwig and Ramone): ♪ In one,

- ♪ And we have to say
it's fun to play ♪

- ♪ Yes, our junky toys
Make groovy noise ♪

- (Pig): ♪ Hear me ting-a-ting
And ring and sing ♪

- (Cat): ♪ Hey, look at me
I'm wild and free ♪

- (Peg): ♪ Cat's so very quick

- ♪ It's clear I didn't end up
on my rear ♪

- Whoa! ...Huh?
- (Peg): Uh-oh!

- (Ramone): Oh, no!
- (Ludwig): Wee-ha!

- Wee-ha!

- ♪ Now let's really, really,

- ♪ Knock knock knock block
Tick tick tick tock ♪

- ♪ And now for you
we have completely rocked ♪

- ...Ow!

- You gotta admit,

the Pig was actually
pretty helpful this time.

- I can't believe it.
- Cat, come on!

He totally showed us that Baby
Fox was in trouble down below.

- I won't believe it;
no way, no how.

The Pig is not helpful.
It's just not who he is.

The Pig is the Pig...
- ♪ Down ♪

- (gasping): Down!
- Whoa-ha-whoa-ho!

- ♪ Down.
(both laughing)
