we get to play in the snow

and I'm going to learn
to ice skate! After that,

- we'll go to
the enchanted garden

to see a dance show called
The Nutcracker ballet!

I checked about the pond

and it's safe
for ice skating, so...

Are you ready to go skate?

- Royally ready!

- Ooh! We get to sled!
Sled with me. Come on!

Trolley-sled, please take us
to the skating pond!

(laughing)

to the pond today

(Daniel): Kalen's going ice
skating for the first time

with his big brother, Skyler.

- (Skyler): All right buddy,
it's time to put our skates on.

- (Kalen): So, you're
tying it tightly?

- Yep, nice and tight.

- Okay, take your shoes off,
please.

- Let's just take it
a little bit slow now, okay?

- Big brothers
can be good teachers.

- (Skyler): All right,
grab on to that.

All right, now take
one hand off.

Take one hand off and hold my

All right, so take
little tiny steps, like that.

- Oops!

one knee... There we go.

came alive

and danced all by himself!

called the Land of Sweets.

Clara and the Nutcracker
met the Sugar Plum Fairy.

and danced happily ever after.

- I like that story. I think I'm
going to like the ballet too.

is excited to take you.

- Woah. Clara's toy soldier
came alive!

I wish my toys would come alive.

- (narrator): Clara receives a
brand new toy.

She hugs her nutcracker
and twirls with joy.

Then he comes alive.
When the night rolls in,

he wakes up and stretches
and the dancing begins.

Daniel took a deep breath
and he tried with all his might.

Then he leapt to the left
and he leapt to the right.

He tried a little bit,

then a little bit more,

and soon he was dancing and
leaping all over the floor.

Twirling and twirling,

he gives Clara a spin.
