01x14 - Flight of the Donnie

Post by bunniefuu »

This is me, eliza thornberry.

Part of your average family.

I got a dad, a mom,
and a sister.

There is donnie-- we found him.

And darwin?
He found us.

( Jabbering )

Oh, yeah, about our house--
it moves.

'Cause we travel
all over the world.

You see, my dad hosts
this nature show

And my mom sh**t it.

Okay, so we're not that average.

( Panting )

And between you and me

Something amazing happened...

And now I can talk to animals.

It's really cool

But totally secret.

And you know what?

Life's never been the same.

( Rustling... )

( Chirping )

( Birds cawing )

Eliza:
whoa!

Marianne!

( Echoing )

( Bird caws )

( Sneezes )

( Blows nose )

( Sniffling )

There you are.

Let's sally forth.

The andean condor
waits for no one.

( Raspily ):
well, okay, I just...

I, i, I got to...

( Groans, grunting )

I'm almost ready.

( Sneeze coming on )

( Sneezes )

Oh, the thought of capturing

Such an elusive creature
on film

Stirs me to the very
soles of my boots!

Dad, I think
mom's kind of sick.

Sick?

( Moaning )

You're sick, marianne?

Oh, it's nothing.

I just need to...

( Sneeze coming on )

( Sneezes )

( Yelps )

( Jabbering )

( Yelps )

Oh, my!

You are sick.

Well, we can't have you
traipsing about.

Debbie, get on the radio.

Muster up a surgeon.

Charter a helicopter.

Boil some eggs!

Nigel, it's a cold.

And I promised the foundation.

It's just one sh*t
of a condor.

No, no, you must stay
in bed.

Oh...!

( Stammers, laughs )

I've just been
thunderstruck!

What if one of the girls
filled your substantial

But terribly attractive,
shoes?

What do you say, girls?

Who wants to come along?

( Whistling )

I do!

She does.

( Grunting loudly )

( Grunting loudly )

Just point me to the condo...

Oh... Oof!

( Jabbering )

( Slurred ):
condor!

( Mimicking ):
ow!

( Moaning )

( Coughing )

Sorry, eliza, but we may have
to wait a couple of years

Before you carry my gear.

Hmm. If we only had a daughter
who was taller.

Oh, debbie.

You're just
the ticket!

No, I'm not.

( Shrieks )

Strap on the pack
and let's go!

Marianne, don't you
worry about a thing.

You go inside
and get some rest.

All right.

Oh, brother, I tell you

My feet are even swollen.

I can't breathe.

And, eliza, this is
a special day for you as well.

Think of it:
shouldering

The challenge
of motherhood

With your mother
as your charge.

Okay, dad.

( Marianne sneezes )

See? Spo...

( Sneezes )

( Clattering )

See, spo... Choo!

Mom, I promised

To take care of you;

Now why don't you lay down?

I'll make you breakfast.

Thanks, honey.

( Whirring )

( Stammers in frustration )

It's broken.

Oh, darwin.

( Jabbering ):
ba, ba, ba!

Not now, donnie.

Ba, ba, ba!

We'll read later.

Now we're going
to play a little game.

( Jabbers, slurps )

It's called
"help eliza

Stir the
pancake batter."

Now, stir.

( Splat )

( Shrieks )

No, donnie.

Keep stirring.

Eliza, is everything okay
in there?

( Cheerily ):
fine, mom.

Thanks, dear.
You can put it on the table.

I just took some medicine
and it's made me a little...

( Snoring )

'Night, mom.

( Gasps )

( Jabbering )

Donnie!

Donnie, no.

( Yelps )

Darwin?

( Darwin squawking )

( Pots clattering )

Find your own cabinet.

This one's mine.

( Jabbering )

Blig, blig, blig.

Donnie, no! No.

( Both grunting )

( Jabbering )

Oh!

( Whiny ):
donnie, come on.

I'm trying to
take care of mom

So I can't have you
being so... You.

( Yelping )

There.
Play out here.

( Happy jabbering )

We're here among
peru's highest peaks.

Somewhere above us soars
a vultur gryphus.

( Rock music playing... )

Wait a minute.

( Gasps softly )

This is cool.

( Stammering )

The andean condor.

( Stammering )

...with a wingspan
of nearly ten feet...

( Stammering )

...a range of over...

( Grunts in frustration )

Debbie, pardon me, lovely,
but what are you doing?

Don't stop, I'm giving
the show a new look.

Uh, debbie,
your mother generally

Points the camera at one.

That was
the old show.

This is the new show

A debbie thornberry
production.

Put these on.
They'll give you 'tude.

( Stammers )

I'm afraid I can't see anything.

Yes, and...?

Come on, get with it.

You've never seen
a rock video?

( Resumes stammering )

Please, debbie, we have
a certain duty to our viewers.

Relax! I have this
totally wired.

( Stammering )

I...! Oh, dear.

No problem, I got it.

( Stammering )

( Whispers ):
debbie!

Dad, it's cool.

It's just a lens.

( Hushed ):
no, behind you!

Quickly!

Don't worry.

I'll have that sh*t...

( Squawks )

...a little later.

( Caws )

( Jabbering excitedly )

( Pounding on door )

Not now, donnie.

I'm busy.

( Cawing )

What's that?

( Racket continues )

( Gasps )

It's... A, a c-condor!

Darwin, get the video camera.

( Donnie
still pounding )

Mom! Mom, a condor!

( Snoring )

Mom?

Mom!

Mom, get up!

( Continues snoring )

( Caws )

( Caws )

Oh, no, donnie!

( Jabbering wildly... )

( Both grunting, panting )

Aah, aah, ooh!

Come on, darwin.

Oh, we've got to get up there.

Poor little innocent donnie.

One minute a cheerful little
boy, the next, lunch!

It's not going
to happen.

Oh, all right, dinner then.

The condor's not going
to eat donnie.

They don't eat living things.

Oh!
Then can we slow down?

Oh.

( Cooing )

Oh, debbie.

There she is!

( Screeches )

A mother condor, tenderly
caring for her young.

Nice.

Ah!

It'll work great
with a guitar solo.

Is it my imagination, or is
this ledge getting narrower?

It gets wider up ahead.

Good, I'd like a running start

Before falling off the mountain.

Darwin, we have to keep moving.

We have to get donnie.

Oh!

Look! This could lead to
the top of the mountain.

Or a bottomless pit.

Come on!

Oh.

( Faint screeching )

What was that?

Sometimes rocks just
shift all by themselves.

Oh, good.
For a minute I was afraid...

( Loud squawking )

( Panicked gasping )

( Squawking continues )

( Eliza, darwin screaming )

( Creature squawking )

That's a strange sound.

What do you say
we investigate, debbie?

Not now, nigel.

I'm creating.

Really, i... Have you
been calling me nigel?

Yuck! That stupid
rock is clashing

With the whole nature statement
I'm trying to make.

But, debbie, poodles,
it is nature.

It's old nature.

( Grunts )

Now, that's today's nature

Raw, edgy.

Okay, nigel, action.

High in the glorious andes

We're about to witness a very
rare sight indeed

The tender ritual of motherhood

As demonstrated by
a majestic female condor.

And now, we will see this
miracle for the first time

As we slowly begin to... Run!

Oh!

( Rocks clattering )

Heavens to betsy!

How wonderfully
exciting!

Yes! He's there.

We did it!

( Donnie babbles )

I don't believe this.

She's treating donnie
like he's her baby.

Why?

All we have to do
is talk to her.

Tell her what's going on.

You're right.
That's the thing to do.

Of course.
I'll wait here.

( Squawks )

Excuse me, condor,
I'm sorry to bother you.

Then don't.

Go away, you
beady-eyed little beast.

I just came up here

To get donnie.

Donnie?
What's a donnie?

Him.

He's a boy.

He's a human boy.

( Clucking... )

I may be endangered
but I'm not stupid.

Get lost!

( Screeching...)

( Screams )

Time for plan "b."

And what's plan "b"?

I run in there
and grab donnie.

That's your plan?

That doesn't deserve a letter.

Now's our chance.

Good luck.

( Snores )

( Babbles greeting )

We're out of here!

( Loud squawk )

( Shrieks )

( Grunts )

( Cawing )

She's teaching
him to fly!

And it might not work.

Okay, let me think.

If I can't get to donnie...

( Gasps )

...maybe I can get
donnie to come to me.

( Babbling )

Psst!

( Shrieks )

( Screams )

( Laughing, babbling )

( Donnie shrieking )

Come on!
Come on, come on!

Donnie:
whee!

Come on,
come on!

( Shrieking )

( Condor cries )

There it is again.

We're so very close.

Come on, debbie pops,
faster!

( Gasping )

H-how does mom do this stuff?

Actually, with great panache.

( Debbie groans )

There's got to be
some way to... Hold it!

Hold it, condor's don't
eat living things!

That's it!

Here's what we're going to do.

We?

All right

Here's what you're going to do.

( Darwin groans )

Oh, oh, the end is near.

This is it.

Good-bye, cruel andes.

I'm finished.

( Coughing )

( Loud gagging )

( Squawks happily )

Yes!

There she goes!

She must be scavenging.

Hurry, debbie.

We must get to her nesting area

And set up before she returns.

( Screeches )

( Whimpering )

( Snoring )

Shh!

( Shrieks )

( Shrieks )

( Yelps )

( Whimpering )

( Caws )

Okay. Okay, I can
work with this.

I'll film you

From the middle
of this condor condo

While turning around
in a 360-degree circle.

Oh, it'll be
an awesome sh*t!

You just do
your nigel thing.

But condors are very sensitive
about their territory.

You don't want to trespass.

Dad! This is my movie!

But, you see,
that rocky area

Where you're standing

You see, lovey,
it's what condors use

In place of the
traditional nest.

( Squawks loudly )

( Screams )

Oh, this is smashing!

Debbie, quickly, the camera!

I got it, dad.

I got it!

( Squeals excitedly )

( Caws )

Congratulations,
debster!

I knew if you
just kept trying

You'd get
a perfect sh*t of...

Your right eye.

Oops.

( Eliza panting )

So, what did you think
of my performance?

( Screams )

I didn't have time
to practice.

Eliza:
run!

( Donnie jabbering )

( Yelps )

( Shrieks )

Do you think
we lost her yet?

No!

( Shrieks )

( Panting... )

( Yelps )

( Cawing )

( Wings flapping )

( Loud hissing )

( Whimpers )

( Yelps softly )

Give him back,
you little bird grabber!

No. You don't
understand.

I'm supposed to be
taking care of him

And that's what
I'm going to do.

( Squawks loudly )

( Both scream )

( Splash )

Donnie!

( Jabbering )

( Jabbers happily )

It's true.

It's just a human!

And a kind of scraggly one
at that.

I'm sorry. I know you
thought he was yours.

Oh, I knew
he wasn't my baby.

My own baby
wandered off.

When I saw
this little bundle
of feathers all alone

Uncared for,
neglected

With no one
in the world...

Actually, I was
looking after him.

( Caws in distress )

Hey, I know that sound.

I know where your baby is!

Darwin ( fearfully ):
easy... Not too tight.

Gently.

( Caws )

( Donnie babbles )

( Squawks )

( Shrieks )

Could you please
not do that?

( Excited squawking )

( Caws in response )

Oh!

Mommy!

Mommy!

( Sobbing )

( Squawks with joy )

Oh!
( Laughs )

Ooh, ooh, ooh!

Aw, who's mama's
little bone-picker?!

I am.

( Kissing )

Ooh, ooh!

( Laughing )

( Sniffles )

( Sighs with satisfaction )

( Darwin grunting
intermittently )

( Whimpering )

Oof!

How come
I got stuck with junior?

Look, the comvee!

( Faint chattering )

( Yawns )

Eliza?

Eliza?

Oh, my goodness!

Eliza, you've done
a wonderful job

Manning the fort today.

Aw, it was nothing major.

( Gasps, grunts )

Nigel ( cheerily ):
we're home!

( Gasps )

Debbie:
this whole thing
was totally unfair.

I didn't get the sh*t.

I mean, getting
the sh*t of a condor

Is the hardest thing ever!

It's impossible!

Oh! You have no idea
what I've been through.

There were landslides

And giant birds

And dad wouldn't
do a thing I said!

Oh! If you need me

I'll be in the shower
for the next three days.

( Squawks )

Nigel:
nicely done, dear.

Feeling better?

Marianne:
much.

But then, eliza's
been taking care

Of all of us today.

And speaking
of all of us,
where's donnie?

( Gasps )
donnie.

( Whispers ):
oh, no!

( Cawing above )

Donnie...!

( Slurping )

( Jabbers )

( Chomping, slurping )

( Yelps happily )
