Today, the neighborhood
firefighters

are visiting us at school!

And later, I'm going to
the market with my mom

to pick up some yummy food!

I'm so happy you're here.

O: Twirly-whirly! Hohoo!

Katerina: Very twirly.

Katerina: Now...

Teacher: Come to the rug
for a special Circle Time.

Prince Wednesday:

Teacher: Okay, everyone.
Put your listening ears on.

I want to tell you
something important.

Today, we're going to have a
fire drill in our classroom.

Does anyone know what that is?

Daniel: Uhm, no.
O: A fire drill?

Miss Elaina: I don't.

Teacher: A fire drill
is when we practice

what we need to do
to keep ourselves safe

if there is ever
a fire at school.

Daniel: Um, how do we practice?

Teacher: Well, first
we're going to hear

a loud noise, an alarm.

Jodi: How loud? Really loud?

Prince: As loud as this?

Teacher: (chuckles)
Yes, really loud.

Like this 'BRIIING
BRIIING BRIIING!'

It has to be loud
to get our attention,

and when you hear the loud
alarm, you're going to...

to stay safe. ♪

Teacher: That's right.

And when you're listening, I'll
remind you of our safety plan.

Stop what you're doing.

Be quiet as can be.

Line up by the cubbies.

So we can go to our tree.

Everyone remembers our
meeting tree, right?

Prince: Right!
Elaina: Yes!

Daniel: I remember!

Teacher: That tree.

We're going to stay there
until the firefighters tell us

we can come back inside.

All: Yes! Yeah! Hoo hoo!

Teacher: That's our safety plan!

Got it?
All: Got it!

O: Umm...is there going
to be a real fire?

Teacher: No.

This is just to practice
what we would do

if there was a real fire.

Okay?

O: Okay.

Teacher: Any other questions?

Elaina: My Daddy's
a firefighter!

Teacher: (chuckles)
That's right.

Okay class, it's Choice Time.

You can keep playing
any way you'd like.

Kids: Yippee-skippee!
Tigertastic! Hoo hoo!

(giggle)

Daniel: We're going
to have a fire drill,

and the firefighters are
coming to our school!

Weeoo, wee-oo!

Elaina: (giggles)

Daniel: Katerina, do you
want to be a ballet teacher

and a firefighter?

Katerina: Okay!

Daniel: (giggles)

O: Twirly-whirly
(giggles)



Daniel: Oh no! The baby
panda needs our help!

Katerina: (gasps)
He's up so high!

O: Wee-oo! Wee-oo. Help
is on the way hoohoo!

Elaina: I'll help!

Daniel: Come here little
panda, come down the ladder.

There you go!

Katerina: What a sweet
baby panda! Meow meow.

Let's twirl!

Kids: (giggle)

Daniel: I like pretending to be
a firefighter, helping pandas.

I wonder what it's like
to be a real firefighter?

Hey, do you want to
make-believe with me?

Let's make-believe that
we're real firefighters!



♪ Living in the firehouse, ♪

♪ Oh, it's so amazing! ♪

♪ This is where we
work together, ♪

♪ Until we hear the bell ring! ♪

♪ Here we go! Slide
down the pole! ♪

♪ Put our boots on our feet ♪

♪ Then coat and hat,
in no time flat! ♪

♪ Now we're off to help
our neighbors in need! ♪

♪ (sparkly music) ♪

Daniel: Wasn't
that grr-ific?

(fire alarm)

(gasps) Wait!

That's the loud alarm!

(fire alarm)

We're having our fire drill now.

(fire alarm)

That sound is loud!

I don't like it.

(fire alarm)

What should we do?

(fire alarm)

Teacher: Okay, class.

(fire alarm)

I didn't know it
would be so loud.

(fire alarm)

Teacher: It is loud,
but no talking please.

It will be quieter
once we go outside.

(fire alarm)

All of our friends are here.

(fire alarm)

Okay everyone, line up
at our meeting tree.

♪ (gentle music) ♪

Wonderful. We're all here.

I'm very proud of
how everyone stopped

and listened to stay safe.

Daniel: (gasp) The
firefighters are here!

Kids: Yay, Firefighters!

Teacher: Hello firefighters!

Elaina: Hi daddy! Hi daddy!

That's my daddy!

Katerina: Meow meow,
we did a fire drill!

Prince: I want to
see Fire Trolley!

Teacher: I know it's exciting
that the firefighters are here,

but our fire drill
isn't over yet.

Everyone needs to stay calm and
quiet with listening ears on

so we can hear what the
firefighters have to say.

Music Man Stan: Thank
you, Teacher Harriet.

Hello class.

I'm so glad to see you lined
up by your meeting tree.

Dr. Anna: Thanks for waiting.

I just checked your classroom
to make sure it's safe,

because that's what I would do
if there was a real fire.

O: But there wasn't
a real fire...right?

Dr. Anna: That's right. No fire.

We were just practicing.

The drill is over.

It's safe to go back
inside your classroom.

Stan: But first,

who would like to sit
on Fire Trolley?

Prince : Me, me!
Daniel: Tigertastic!

O: I do hoo hoo!

Stan: (chuckles)
I thought so, I thought so.

All Kids: (giggle)
Wee-oo, weeoo, Woah! Wow!

Stan: (chuckels)

O: Look at this!
Stan: There you go!

O: A fire hose, hoo hoo!

Prince: Can we ring the bell?

Jodi Platypus: Yippee-skippee!

Kids: Yay, stickers!
Jody: I love stickers!

Stan: Here you go,
Junior Firefighter Daniel,

your official badge.

Daniel: (gasps)
Junior Firefighter Daniel!

That's me!

Prince: Daniel!
I'm a junior firefighter.

Daniel: Me too!

I'm gonna keep everyone safe.

Katerina: I'm a twirly whirly
junior firefighter ballerina!

All: Twirly whirly, whooooosh!

(giggle)

Katerina: Twirly-whirly!

Daniel: Have you ever
done a fire drill?

You can stop and
listen to stay safe...

Daniel Tiger: Let's go
see some neighbors!

Mom: Alright, are you
ready for a bike ride?

Kendall: Yeah.
Mom: Okay.

Daniel: Kendall and her
Mom are going on a bike ride!

Mom: What's the one thing

you always have
when you ride a bike?

Kendall: My helmet.
Mom: That's right.



Daniel: Kendall's
mom makes sure

that her helmet fits just right.

Mom: Whenever we ride our bikes,
we always have to protect

our heads just like
a race car driver.

And what's our most
important rule?

Stop and listen.

Kendall: To stay safe!

I'm ready Mom. Can I go?

Mom: Yeah, let's go!



Daniel: There they go!

Kendall looks left,
right, and left

before leaving the driveway!

Good job Kendall!



Mom: Alright, we're coming
up to the intersection.

It's time to get
off your bike now.

How do we check if
it's okay to cross?

Kendall: We look
left, right, left.

Mom: Very good.
Does it look safe?

Kendall: Yes.
Mom: I think so too. Let's go.



Kendall, stop!



You stopped so fast.

Daniel: You did it, Kendall!

That was so much fun!

♪ (upbeat music) ♪

Daniel: Hi, Neighbor!

I'm helping Mom make breakfast,
just the two of us!

Come inside!
(giggles)

Mom Tiger: There's
my breakfast helper.

Daniel: That's me!
Daniel/Mom: (giggle)

Ooh, are we making eggs?

Mom: We are.

Daniel: Here we go!

(cr*ck)

♪ (playful music) ♪

(cr*ck)

Daniel: I like how the
eggs make a cracking sound.

cr*ck. cr*ck. cr*ck!

Mom: (laughter)

And now we scramble!

Daniel: How do you do that?

Mom: Well, when you scramble,

you mix the eggs all together.

Like this.



Daniel: Grr-ific! Can I try?

Mom: Sure, Daniel.

Daniel: Scraaaamble-it-up.

That's a fun word to say.

Scramble!

(giggles) Oops.

Mom: (chuckles)
That's okay, Daniel.

The eggs look good.

Time to cook them.

Now the stove is very hot,
so that's a grown-up job.

Daniel: Oh.

Mom: But you could help

by putting the blueberries
on our plates.

Daniel: Ooh, I can do that!



Blueberries for me, and for Mom.

I know!

(hums)

Here we go.

A heart!

Mom: Breakfast is ready!

Scrambled eggs, toast...

Daniel: And blueberries!

This one's for me.

And that one's for you, Mom.

Mom: Oh Daniel, I love
my blueberry heart...

Mmmm.

Let's eat!

Daniel: Mmmm.

Mom: Mmm, mmm.
Daniel: Yummy eggs.

Mom: Oh, delicious.

You know what, Daniel?

I'd say we made a
pretty good breakfast.

Daniel: Me too!

Oops!

Mom: I'll get it!
(smash)

Daniel: (gasps)
Oh no, the mug broke!

Mom: Stay where
you are, Daniel.

Daniel: But, I can help.
Mom: Daniel, stop!

Daniel: (gasps)

Mom: ♪ Stop and listen
to stay safe. ♪

There are sharp pieces
of the mug on the floor,

and I don't want you to
step on one and get hurt.

Daniel: Oh!

♪ Stop and listen
to stay safe. ♪

Mom: Stay right where you
are until I clean this all up.

Daniel: Okay.

That was a little scary.

♪ (gentle music) ♪

Mom: Ahh, okay.



Daniel: Mom?

Mom: Yes, Daniel?

Daniel: I got scared
when you were so loud

after the mug broke.

Mom: I understand.

I was a little afraid too.

Daniel: You were?

Mom: Mm-hm.

That's why I talked so loudly.

I love you so much, Daniel,
and I want to keep you safe.

Are you okay?

Daniel: Mm-hm.

So... Can I move now?

Mom: Hmmm, not yet.

Not with bare feet.

I'll bring you your shoes
to put on, just in case,

there are any smaller
pieces I didn't see.

Oh, like this one.

Daniel: I didn't see that piece.



Mom: (hums)



Here you go.



Now it's safe to walk
around the kitchen.

Daniel: Grr-ific!

Mom: So, Daniel.

Now that we finished our
delicious breakfast,

let's go to the
neighborhood market.

Daniel: Tigertastic!

Daniel: ♪ Market, market, ♪

Daniel/Mom:
♪ going to the market. ♪

Mom: (giggles)
Daniel: You can come too!



What are we getting
at the market, Mom?

Mom: Well, we need some
vegetables and fruit,

and cheese and
crackers for snack.

Daniel: Veggies to eat.

Mom: Strawberries too.

Daniel: Cheese
and crackers...

Mom/Daniel: ...for me and you!

(giggle)

Daniel: There's the market!

Veggies to eat.

Daniel: Come inside with us.

(ding-ding)

Prince: Hi, Mrs. Tiger!

Daniel: Hi, Prince Tuesday!

Prince Tuesday works
here at the market!

Prince: Let me know
if you need any help.

Mom: Thank you, Prince Tuesday.

Mom: Now, what do we need...?

Daniel: I remember!
