02x13 - Ghostly Gala

Post by bunniefuu »

I was a girl in the village doing all right then I became a princess overnight now I got to figure out how to do it right so much to learn and see up in the castle with my new family and a school that's just for royalty a whole enchanted world is waiting for me I'm so excited to be sofia the first I'm finding out what being royal's all about sofia the first making my way, it's an adventure every day sofia it's gonna be my time sofia to show them all that I'm sofia the first Sofia: Ghostly gala ( howling ) ( cackling ) Now that is one scary-looking witch.

Inventor gwen helped me make it.

I don't know why we've never thrown A Halloween party before.

Fabulous idea, sofia.

I loved going to haunted house parties Back in the village.

Well, they were more like haunted cottages.

But this will be a haunted castle party.

( knocking on door ) Come in.

Hmm.

No one's there.

Sofia, I finished the haunted tea party.

Check it out.

What do you think? Nice and creepy.

( knocking on door ) Ugh! Just come in already.

There's no one here.

That's weird.

Look! Weren't those skeletons just sitting? Maybe someone moved them when we weren't looking.

Who? I don't know.

I can't wait for the party tonight, sofia.

This isn't everything.

I have lots of spooky surprises planned.

( wind howling ) Who did that? It's okay, amber.

It was probably just a breeze.

This castle is a bit drafty.

You don't understand.

Lots of strange things have been happening.

First, there were knocks at the door, But no one was there.

Then those skeletons stood up-- On their own.

( chuckling ) I know we're all excited for the Halloween party.

But let's not let our imaginations Get the better of us.

( all gasping ) Oh, I get it, sofia.

This is one of your spooky surprises, isn't it? Uh, no.

( knocking on door ) Maybe there's a ghost in the castle.

We have to move to another castle immediately! Now, amber, we all know there's no such thing As ghosts.

Your father's right.

I'm sure there's a perfectly reasonable Explanation for all this.

There better be.

Well, I have to get more decorations.

There's so much left to do for tonight.

( ghost chuckling ) Ooh.

Ooh, spoooooky.

( gasping ) hee hee hee hee! What is that? Ooohhh Ohh! Oh, butterfingers! ( giggling ) Stop laughing at once.

Huh? You're not supposed to laugh at ghosts.

You're supposed to be terrified.

You're a ghost? Indeed I am.

Are you scared? Uh Not really.

( sighing ) I'm going to have to try harder next time.

You see, I'm not the type of ghost That enjoys going about haunting people.

I'm more of a curl-up-in-the-attic-with- A-good-book type of ghost.

Wait a second.

Were you the one knocking on the door And blowing out the lights? Yes, that was I.

Sir reginald daxter sutcliffe the fourth.

Sir reginald daxter What? Just call me dax.

Why were you trying to scare us, sir dax? Oh, I'm afraid I must frighten Everyone out of the castle by nightfall.

By nightfall? But you can't do that.

My haunted castle party is tonight.

Not anymore, darling, Because I'm hosting a ghostly gala tonight.

A what? A party for all the ghosts in the kingdom.

But I have to throw my party.

My whole family is looking forward to it.

And my ghostly guests are looking forward To my party.

And none of them will show up If there are people in the castle.

People always make such a fuss when they see ghosts.

So I need to scare everyone out By sundown or I can't have my gala, Which does not give me much time.

So I better get back to it.

Toodle-oo! Please, sir dax.

I don't want to let my family down.

Only one of us can have our party, my dear girl, And that will be me.

So if you'll excuse me, I have to go scare the pants off your family.

Well, not actually their pants, that would be impolite.

But scare them I will.

( sighing ) Ah.

Nap time.

The coziest, most relaxing time of-- Ow! Umph.

Oof.

What's going on? Who's there? Boo! That's who.

That's my name.

Boo.

I know it's kind of an obvious name for a ghost, But, hey, what are you gonna do? Uh-uh-uh.

Ghost bat, huh? See, see the wings? I didn't know the castle had ghosts.

Oh, yeah.

Boo! Would you quit it? Are you kiddin'? This is the one day dax finally lets me go out And do some actual haunting.

Come on, no way I'm gonna stop now.

( chuckling ) Scare you later! Clover.

Aaah! Clover.

Sofia? Both: I just saw a ghost! You saw sir dax, too? Who? No, it was a ghost bat.

There are two ghosts in the castle? I guess so.

What do they want with us, sofia? They're trying to scare us all out of the castle.

But my haunted castle party is tonight And everyone is looking forward to it.

What do I do? I-I-I don't know, sofia.

Maybe I'll tell my parents about them.

Whoa, you do that And they'll cancel the party for sure.

I know I wouldn't want to have company over With a bunch a ghosts floating around, Scaring everybody, booing the hors d'oeuvres.

Hmm.

Wait.

Sir dax told me if he doesn't frighten All the people out of the castle by sundown, He can't have his ghostly gala.

So all I have to do is keep him From scaring everyone until the sun goes down And I get to have my party.

Great plan, kid.

I just have to make whatever he's doing seem not so scary.

All right, tell you what.

I'll check the kitchen for ghosts-- and snacks.

You take the rest of the castle.

Deal? Deal.

Baileywick, have you seen any, uh, Strange things happening? Not at all, princess sofia.

( relieved sigh ) great.

( xylophone playing ) huh? My goodness! The xylophone, it just started playing by itself.

Oh, it must be dax.

Uh, don't worry, mom.

This is just one of the spooky surprises I planned for the party.

I asked mr.

Cedric to enchant the xylophone To make it look haunted.

Oh, it's a party trick? Uh-huh.

Do you like it? It's very charming.

( chuckling ) Okay, well, I'm going to go check on The spook-ghetti and meatballs.

See you in a bit.

Oh.

I'll have you know you spoiled a perfectly good scare.

I'm not letting you scare everyone away.

We'll see about that.

Eh? Boo! ( whimpering ) ( evil laughter ) Yo, boo.

Is that you up there? The one and only.

Hey, I'd love to stay and chat, But I got places to haunt, people to spook.

Nah, you don't want to do that.

Why don't you take a break and have a snack with me? Well, I could use a nibble, but Come on.

I can tell you're a gourmet ghost.

All right, you convinced me.

Chef: The kitchen's haunted.

I'll show you.

They're coming back.

We better take our feast to-go.

All right.

I know a place we can eat in peace.

Follow me.

Check, one ghost out of the way.

Huh.

I don't see a floating sandwich.

In fact, I don't see any sandwiches! So you better get back to work.

Everything okay? Nothing, you know, unusual to report? No, nothing out of the ordinary, princess sofia.

( startled gasp ) Stay back, sofia.

Uh, it's okay, dad.

It's just a magic tie rack.

It's one of my haunted castle surprises.

( grunting ) Kind of spooky, isn't it? There you go.

It's very entertaining, but perhaps You should keep the party tricks in the ballroom.

Okay, dad.

What was that? ( nervous chuckle ) You were right, the castle really is drafty.

I better go check on my other party tricks.

Well, see you later.

( whimpering ) Princess sofia! ( chuckling ) I'm trying as hard as I can to be frightening.

I must insist you stop getting in my way.

Whoa! Sofia, was that a ghost? No! It was just another party trick.

I saw you talking to it.

Come on, sof.

You can tell me the truth.

Okay, there's a ghost in the castle.

Brilliant.

I always hoped the castle would be haunted.

Oh, amber better not see the ghosts.

You saw how afraid she was before.

She said she'd make us move out of the castle.

Oh, you're right.

I can't let them scare amber.

Hey! Where are you going? To make sure those ghosts don't ruin Our haunted castle party.

Wait up.

I'll help you.

Hmm.

So all I have to do is scare princess amber.

Surely, I can manage that.

Because I'm scary enough, I'm frightening enough And, by george, people are terrified of me.

Perhaps, I'll fetch boo to help me out.

Tally ho! So this is where you guys hang out? Hmm, nice.

Well, actually Hello, I usually hang up here.

But, yeah, this is our room.

Come on, let's dig in.

So what's with all the portraits? Oh, those are all of dax's friends and family.

Poor guy.

He hasn't seen them in a really long time.

Why not? Because they can only leave their castles And see each other at the ghostly gala.

And get this.

It only happens once every 100 years On Halloween.

Huh? 'tis true.

Now you see why I must throw my ghostly gala tonight.

I'll get to see my dearly departed family and friends.

once every hundred years all the ghosts across the land are free to leave their castles for a party oh-so-grand but if I cannot throw it my friends and family will not see through each other for another century it's the ghostly gala an evening full of thrills where the ghouls are ghastly but still they get the chills the owls will hoot and the wolves will holla' 'cause tonight's the night of the one and only ghostly gala it's been so many moons since I've seen auntie bess and uncle roy and walter that's why I'm in such distress for this year I am hosting and if I don't succeed 'tis I that will be haunted until next century it's the ghostly gala an evening full of thrills where the ghouls are ghastly but still they get the chills the owls will hoot and the wolves will holla' 'cause tonight's the night of the one and only ghostly gala each hundredth Halloween it's a supernatural scene at the one and only ghastly, ghostly gala ( evil laughter ) bodie-oh-do Boo! You know, dax, you really should tell Sofia about all this.

Maybe you two could work something out.

Ugh! There's nothing to work out.

She wants her party.

I want mine.

And time is running out.

Boo, would you be a sport and help me give Princess amber a most dreadful fright? Hey, I'm your bat.

Scare ya later! Well, if he's not gonna tell her, I will.

Maybe amber's up in her room.

( whispering ) Princess! Hold on.

I'll be right back.

What's going on? There's more to dax's story than you think.

You've got to talk to him.

I already tried.

He just won't listen.

Well, that goes both ways.

Maybe you should listen to each other a bit more.

( amber shrieking ) Come on! Sorry, clover.

I have to go.

Amber: Take my tiaras! Just leave me alone! ( ghostly wailing ) Oh, no! It's the ghosts.

Okay.

Follow my lead.

James: Ooh We're ghoooosts.

Sofia: Here to haunt you! Wait, I know those voices.

Unhh! You two! Oop, you caught us.

Happy Halloween? That's not funny, sofia.

Unhh! And next time ask before you use my silk sheets.

Whoo-hoo-hoo-hoo Really, sofia? Is this the best you can do? ( sighs ) I hope your party is scarier.

She ruined my scare again! And it's almost sundown, Which means I get to have my party.

Up-up-up-up.

Not quite yet.

You've left me no choice, princess.

I must call in reinforcements.

Come along, boo.

What does he mean by "reinforcements"? I don't know, but we better find out.

Which way did he go? Dax: That's it! No more mr.

Not-so-scary ghost! That way! Dax: I know how to scare everyone Out of the castle once and for all.

Up we go, boo.

We must get to the top of the castle.

He's heading to the observatory.

Together: Dax? I'm not going to let you stop my ghostly gala, darling.

And since I haven't been able to scare anyone away, I'm going to summon some creatures who will.

Be a sport, boo, and invite your friends Into the castle.

Oh, yeah.

That'll scare them all out.

I would take cover if I were you, darlings.

( bats screeching ) go on, fellows.

Follow boo to the ballroom! Thank you! We've got to stop them.

I know a shortcut.

Maybe we can get there first.

Let's go! Aaah! Get me out of here! Get me out of here! Clear everyone out of the castle! Where did all those bats come from? Summon the royal bat catchers! Wait! Don't go! We can fix this! ( sighing ) oh, james.

I put so much work into the party, And it's all for nothing.

You tried your best.

Sorry, sof.

I'm gonna go check on mom and dad.

Ha-ha! So it appears that I get to have my gala after all.

I guess so.

Now let's clear out these bats, boo.

My ghostly guests will never attend a party With all that screeching.

You got it.

Okay, guys, party's over.

Move it out, come on.

Come on.

Don't let the window hit you on the way out.

Come on, move it out.

Ow! Hey, come on, guys.

Aw, this is not good.

They're not leaving! Huh! Sorry, dax.

They're not going anywhere.

What do you mean? Bats are easy to let in, not so easy to get out.

Well, do something.

This-- oh, this is dreadful.

Dreadful! No one will attend my gala now.

No friends.

No family.

Nobody.

( sobbing ) Oh, dax, don't leave like that.

Sofia, I've been looking everywhere for you.

Whoa! What's up with the bats? Dax let them in.

And now both our parties are ruined.

Aw, poor dax.

Dax has been waiting And if his party doesn't happen tonight, He'll have to wait 100 more.

A hundred years? Oh, I feel terrible.

I was being so stubborn.

You both were.

And now he won't get to see his family.

I need to talk to dax.

Clover, do you have any idea where dax might have gone? Sir dax? ( sighs ) what are you doing up here? Clover told me why you need to have your gala.

I don't know what I would do If I couldn't see my family for that long.

You would miss them.

Quite a lot.

We should have talked about all this In the first place, instead of fighting.

I'm sorry.

Oh, it's not your fault.

I shouldn't have been so rude when we met.

And now neither of us can have our party.

Maybe if we work together to get the bats Out of the ballroom, you could still have your gala.

But what about your party? I really wanted to have my party, But I can see my family and friends every day.

You can't.

That is very kind of you, princess sofia.

But how are we going to remove all those bats? Hmm.

Boo! Ha! Now you know how it feels, scaredy-bat.

Scaredy-bat.

Hmm.

( gasps ) I know what we have to do.

Here's the plan.

I'm going to open the window and you are going to scare All the bats out of here.

Me? But I haven't scared a soul all day.

Only because james and I kept getting in the way.

You can do this, dax.

You're green, you glow, you're a ghost, baby.

You can be frightening.

You just need to come up with a really big scare.

Hmm.

A big scare, you say? There is one thing I could try.

Okay, everyone ready? Ready when you are.

One Two Three Go! ( dax wailing ) Gooo awaaaay Pleeeeease go awaaaay! Thaaaaank you! That's it.

They're all gone.

I can't believe it! I really frightened them.

I knew you had it in you, dax.

Thank you, princess sofia.

Sure, dax.

Well, I better go find my family.

Have fun at your ghostly gala.

I hope your friends like the haunted castle I made.

Sofia, darling, wait.

Huh? I think I know a way we can both have our parties.

( eerie howling ) Dax: Rutherford.

Good to see you, old chum.

Charlie, my boy! ( chuckling ) Aunt bess, you have not aged a bit.

None of us have, dear boy.

Dax! Oh, it's good to see you.

( chattering ) Good to see you again.

Mildred! How long has it been? A lifetime.

( laughter ) ( clearing throat ) May I have everyone's attention? I would like to introduce you All to my new friend, princess sofia.

Hello, everyone.

Daxter, dear, this girl is not a ghost.

This darling young girl is the princess of this castle.

And she is the reason we are able to have our gala tonight.

Is that so? Well, in that case, thank you, princess.

And sir dax and I were wondering, would you mind Sharing the ballroom with my friends and family? Share the ballroom? So we can have our Halloween party.

But that would never work, dear girl.

People always scream and fuss when they see us ghosts.

Not if they don't think they're seeing ghosts.

Whatever does she mean, daxter? How would you all like to be A part of sofia's haunted castle? Hmm She's really outdone herself.

( excited chatter ) Sofia, you'll be happy to know that everyone Is having a wonderful time.

And the decorations are fantastic! I've never seen such real-looking ghosts.

It's almost like the ballroom is really haunted! Almost.

( nervous chuckle ) Yes, sofia.

They're much better than your other fake ghosts.

( laughter ) What a trick.

That's some spread up there.

Your princess, she really knows how to throw a shindig.

Salute! Psst.

Sofia.

How is your party going? Great, thanks to you.

How's your gala? A smashing success.

Thanks to you.

Happy Halloween, sir dax.

To you as well, my dear.
