Hello. Hi, there.

[Ship's horn honking]

Check it out.

Do you know what that is?

Yeah, that's a boat.

Come on.

Ahoy there.

Good morning, mates.

Mates?

Are you a pirate?

No, nothing like that.

But I am the captain of this fine boat.

Her name is Bubble Tug.

Her? Your boat's a girl?

Well, boats are usually called she.

What kind of boat is it? Uh, is she?

The Bubble Tughere is a tugboat.

She helps bigger boats make their way

safely into the harbor.

It's a very important job.

I like boats a lot.Me too!

Wha--?

What does "ahoy" mean?

"Ahoy" is how sailors say "hello".

That's right, Nonny.

Are you guys sailors on boats?

No, but we met the captain of a tugboat.

He said "ahoy".

The captain is the person who's in charge of the boat.

I like boats.Me too.

Oh, I do too.

Boats come in so many different shapes and sizes,

but they all have one thing in common:

they float on top of the water.

Have you seen a boat float before?

Yep! All boats float on the water.

Let's think about boats!

Boats turn around when the captain turns the steering...

Sailboats use wind power,

and other boats use people power like rowboats,

How are we going to power the boat?

Okay, we need three main parts.

A bottom that floats in water.

That's where we sit,
