There are colorful leaves everywhere!

When leaves change color and fall to the ground,

that means the season is changing to fall!

A season is one of four different times

of year when the weather changes.

I love the fall!

The leaves change colors...

And you can make piles of them to jump in.

My favorite season is winter!

When it snows, I like to make snow guppies!

Cool.

I like the spring when it rains and I can splash in puddles.

Yep, it can rain a lot in the spring!

The rain helps new plants sprout.

Sprout means when a plant starts to grow.

Aww!

Baby plants!

Then after spring, comes sunny summer!

When I can go to the beach!

I love the beach!

In the fall, it starts to cool down

We need to find him before he makes noise

and wakes up Ninja Master!

Bubble Puppy's being very stealthy.

to wait for winter.

It's all the way back down the mountain.

But the tea will be cold by the time I get back up here.

[Oona] And so Gil went all the way back down the mountain

to fetch hot tea for Ninja Master...

But by the time he got back up the mountain,

the tea was cold.

So Gil had to go all the way back down to try again.

And the tea was cold, again.

Every time he made the trip,

he did it a little bit faster than the last time until...

Ninja Master says thank you for the nice, hot tea!

So let's start training!

Well, actually...

it's the middle of winter now

and the days get dark too early.

So, Ninja Master says to please come back

in the spring.

[Oona] And so Gil and Bubble Puppy went back

to the village to wait for the first sign of spring...

Weeks later...

The plants are starting to sprout!

What season is it now?

Yeah! It's spring!

Ninja School here we come!

It's spring, and I'm ready for my ninja training!

Ninja Master is ready to train you.

Finally!

Ninja Master wants me to do something...

The flowers in our garden have sprouted.

Ninja Master would like you to rebuild the garden wall

before they grow out of it.

And you'll need plenty of strength.

[Oona] And so, Gil set to work

to try to fix the garden wall...

I've been here in the fall, in the winter,

and the spring.

Almost a whole year!

[Oona] Gil had been waiting

to start training at ninja school

but after three whole seasons,

he finally gave up and headed home...

All that work, and I didn't even get to meet Ninja Master--

It's been almost a year since we last met.

Have you learned anything new?

All I've been doing is raking leaves,

delivering tea, and lifting rocks.

I just wanna be left alone.
