Emmy: You found it?Enrique: No.

The dragons are calling.

[Dragon scale chiming]

Quetzal:Bienvenidos, niños.

Emmy and Max: Hi, Quetzal.Enrique: Hola.

Zak:You're just in time.

Wheezie:Quetzal's gonna tell us

about the super-shinyCity of Gold.

It is called...El Dorado.

All: Ah!

Cassie: El Dorado.Ord: Shiny.

Everything in the cityof El Dorado

is made of gold, down tothe tiniest jugglebug.

Do any dragons live there?

Quetzal: Only one--

the Gilded Dragon.

It is his job to watchover El Dorado.

The Gilded Dragon once hadblue scales like Ord.

Enrique: Hmm?Cassie: Aw!

When he moved to El Dorado,his scales turned

to gold, just likethe rest of the city.

El Dorado isn'ta real place, is it?

Why do you ask that,Enrique?

Enrique: When I livedin Colombia, I learned

that people have lookedand looked for El Dorado,

the City of Gold,

but no one has everfound it.

Quetzal: Perhaps they did notknow where to look.

It is beyondthe Dandelion Forest,

just pastthe Stickleback Mountains.

I have been theremany times.

Max: Whoa! So you knowthe Gilded Dragon?

Max: Wow!A golden scale!

Wheezie: Bee-yoo-tiful!Zak: And shiny.

Max: I bet it'd beeven shinier in the sun.

Cassie: It's just pastRainbow Creek,

and it's the sunniest spotin Dragon Land.

Of course, Max, as long as youpromise to be careful.

It is a very special scale.

Max: Don't worry, Quetzal.I will.

There it is!

Zak: Oh! Well, it certainlyis sunny here.

Max: Yeah. I bet the scale'sgonna be super-shiny.

Uh-oh!I can't find the scale!

Wheezie: Oh, no!There's a hole!

The scale must havefallen out!

Max:I don't see it.

I can't believe I lostQuetzal's special scale!

Ord: It's not your fault, Max.

It's your pocket's fault.

Max: But I promised QuetzalI'd be really careful.

Emmy: Don't worry.If we all look

for the scale together,I'm sure we'll find it.

Max: You think so?Emmy: Definitely.

Wheezie:Ooh, a treasure hunt!

♪ Love it! ♪

Maybe the scale fell outof Max's pocket

while we were flying.Enrique: So if we walk back

the way we came...Zak: The scale should be

on the ground somewhere.

Max: I hope so.

Wheezie: Hmm,no golden scale here.

Or here.

and I've been lookingreally, really hard.

Zak:We looked everywhere.

Not everywhere.

Wheezie, gasping:The water?

Max: If the scale fell in there,we'll never find it.

Emmy: Sure we will, Max.

We just need to pretendwe're goldminers.

Max: Huh?Emmy: I learned about them

in school.When miners wanted to find gold

in the water, they'd use panswith little holes in them.

They would dip the pansin the creek,

the water would run outthe holes,

and they'd look for goldin what stayed in the pan.

I have some pie pans.Oops.

[Chuckling]There's still pie in this one.

[Smacks lips]

Emmy: Great, Ord! Is it OKif we punch holes in them?

Mm-hmm.My mommy has lots of pie pans.

Cassie:You found something.

Emmy: No scale this time.Just rocks.

Max: Let me try.

Ord: Me, too!Emmy: That's it.

Now lift them up.Wheezie: Ooh!

Something shiny!

Zak: Crystals.

Oh, a leaf.

I got something!

It's gold and sparkly!

[Blows raspberry]

[All laughing]

Ord: We sure found a whole lotof stuff in the water.

Max:But no golden scale.

It's gone, forever,

and it's all my fault.

Quetzal's gonna bereally mad.

Cassie:It was an accident, Max.

Quetzal will understand.

Emmy: We're not giving upthe search.

We just need to trysomething different.

Wheezie:Whenever I lose something,

I ask Zak if he'sseen it.

Have you seenQuetzal's scale, Zak?

Zak: No, Wheezie.

I've been here with youthe whole time.

What if we ask somebodybesides Zak?

We started out nearthe School in the Sky.

Maybe someone theresaw the scale

fall outof Max's pocket.

Ord: Oh, good idea.Wheezie: Oh, yeah, great idea!

Max: I don't see anybody.Ord: Me, either.

[Brush rustling]But I hear something!

I don't know. I don't know.Where did that caterpoozle go?

Cassie, giggling:It's on your head.

Thanks!

I keep trying to counthis feet,

but he keeps playinghide-and-seek.

Oh, , , .Guess I'll have to start again.

Emmy: Sorry, Mr. Gnome.We'd help you,

but we're busy lookingfor something.

Enrique: Have you seenanything shiny nearby?

Ah!

There is a treewith leaves of green

and five red berriesin between.

If you look underneaththat tree,

something shinyyou will see.

Max: Thanks, Mr. Gnome.Ord: Thank you.

Cassie: Great!Emmy: Thanks a lot. OK.

So, according tothe number gnome, we need

to find a tree with green leavesand five red berries.

Uh, look.

That one has red berries.

Huh?But there's no scale.

Enrique: The number gnome talkedabout a tree with five berries.

Uno, dos, tres.

This one only has three.

That tree hasfive berries.

Look.

Zak: No scale underthis tree, either.

Emmy: I know.These berries are blue.

We're supposed to finda tree with red berries.

Cassie: A treewith five red berries.

Wheezie: Oh, I don't seea single tree like that.

Zak: Huh?

That's because you're leaningagainst it, Wheezie!

Wheezie: Ooh! Ooh!I found the tree!

And I see something shiny!

You foundQuetzal's scale!

Wheezie:No, it's my whistle!

Oh, I lost it last week!

I missed it so much.Mwah! Mwah!

[Blows whistle four times]

Oh. Sorry, Max.

Cassie: I guess the gnomewas talking about Wheezie's

shiny whistle,not Quetzal's scale.

Max: I feel really badfor Quetzal.

I'll never find it.

Oh, maybe you don'thave to, Max.

Max: Huh?Ord: When I accidentally smushed

my mommy's flower vase,I helped

make her a new oneto replace it.

Zak: Well we can't makea golden dragon scale.

Ord: Oh, yeah.

We don't have to make one.

All we have to dois find one,

and I knowjust where to look.

All: El Dorado!

[All gasp]Ord: I see it! I see it!

Enrique: Wow.Wheezie: Beautiful!

Cassie: El Dorado'seven more beautiful

in personthan in the storybook.

[Clanging]

Oh! Oh, my!

Hello! Yes? What?

Enrique: Wow!A talking statue!

Goldfinch: Ahem.I am not a statue.

I am the officialgoldfinch guardian

of the gates of El Dorado,

and it's my nap time.

Emmy: We're sorryto wake you, Mr. Goldfinch,

but we're trying to getinside El Dorado.

Max: We have to seethe Gilded Dragon.

Mr. Goldfinch: He is not here.Ord: He's not?

Mr. Goldfinch: He is awayon a trip, and I don't know

when he's coming home.Lo siento mucho.

Cassie:Now what do we do?

Max, sighing:I know what I'm gonna do.

I'm gonna tell Quetzalwhat happened.

Quetzal: Hola, niños.

I'm glad you're back.I have a surprise for you.

Max:Oh, wait, Quetzal.

I have to tell yousomething first.

Sí, Max?What is it?

I lost your special scale,but I didn't mean to.

I put it in my pocketto keep it super-safe,

but I had a hole in my pocket,and it must have fell out.

Wheezie: We really,really tried to find it.

Cassie: We looked everywhere.Zak: Even in the creek!

Emmy: Then we tried to ask ifanyone saw the scale anywhere,

but no one had.Ord: And we even went to

El Dorado to get you a new scaleso you wouldn't be sad.

Enrique: But the Gilded Dragonwasn't there.

Quetzal: I see. It is a shamethat the scale was lost...

but it is notyour fault, Max.

I can see it was an accident.

You meanyou're not mad?

Quetzal: No, Max.

How can I be,when I see how hard

you all worked togetherto try to find it for me?

Max: Thanks, Quetzal.Quetzal: And I think I know

why you could not findthe Gilded Dragon.

[All laughing]

Emmy: I'll use this basketAbuelita gave me.

Let's get to Dragon Landand start picking.

You know how many dragonberriesOrd can eat.

Both: I wish, I wishwith all my heart

to fly with dragonsin a land apart.

Max: Hey,where is everybody?

No dragonberries down here.

No dragonberries over here.

Zak: Not even one!

Ord:This is terrible!

Cassie:It's Emmy and Max.

Hi, everybody.

Did you sayno dragonberries?

Wheezie: Not even one,

and we've been lookingeverywhere.

Max: But I thought todaywas the best day

for picking all year.

Cassie: It is,and there should be lots

and lots of berries,but there aren't.

What are we gonna do?

Don't worry, Ord.There are lots

of other dragonberry bushesin Dragon Land.

Emmy: Yeah. Let's go check outsome other places.

Come on!

Cassie: I think this isthe last bush.

Zak:And still no berries?

Wheezie:It's all very...

mysterious.

I know!

Birds: ♪ Do, re... ♪

Cassie: Do-re-mi birds lovedragonberries as much as Ord.

I bet they're tryingto find some, too.

Come on!What's everyone waitin' for?

Ord:Those aren't dragonberries.

Dragonberries are red.

Those are yellow.

[Gulps]Ooh!

You're so right!

They're puckerberries,Ord.

They taste so sour,they make your mouth pucker.

Zak: It's so sour,I can taste it!

[Grunting]

Max: Why are do-re-mi birdseating puckerberries

if they like dragonberriesbest?

Cassie:They were probably hungry

and couldn't findany dragonberries, either.

Wheezie: If we can't findany dragonberries,

and the do-re-mi birds can'tfind any dragonberries, maybe

there aren't any dragonberriesanywhere in Dragon Land!

Oh, don't say that!

We can't give up.

I can just imagine 'em--bright red, ripe,

and ready to be gobbled.Oh!

[Smacks lips]

Emmy: Hey!

Dragonberries are red.

Ord:I just said that.

Emmy: No, I mean maybe that'show we can find some.

When we were flying,I noticed the ground

looked likemy abuelita's quilt--

lots of different-coloredpatches.

I think we should fly highover Dragon Land

and lookfor bright red patches.

The patches might be...All: Dragonberries!

Cassie: Gee, it does looklike a patchwork quilt.

Does anybody seeany red areas?

Zak: Oh! I see one,

down there.

Max: Yeah, I see red

over this way, too!

Cassie:Gee, there's red everywhere.

Ord: We'll just haveto check 'em all out.

Not dragonberries.

Not dragonberries.

Zak:Oh, this isn't working.

It'll take foreverto check

every patch of redwe see.

Emmy: Don't getdiscouraged, Zak.

There has to be some wayto figure out which patches

might be dragonberries.Wheezie: Oh, oh, oh!

Have you ever noticed what shapedragonberry bushes are?

They're always round!

Zak:You're right, Wheezie!

The bushes are round!

We should look for red patchesthat are shaped like circles.

Max: Look!Over by the lagoon!

Isn't that a red circle?

Ord:You found one, Max!

Oh, you're the best!

I can already tastethose dragonberries,

all yummy in my tummy.

Mmm!

[All clamor and laugh]

Emmy: See, Ord?I knew we would find some!

[Ord snorting]

Cassie: Mmm.

These are so good!

But one bush won'tbe enough for all of us

and all of my brothersand sisters.

[Bush rustles, Cassie gasps]

[Ord grunting]

Emmy, chuckling: Especially ifOrd keeps eating. Ha ha ha ha!

Wheezie: How come this bush isthe only one with berries?

All the other bushesare bare.

Cassie: Where did allthe berries go?

This mystery's gettingmore mysterious all the time.

Wheezie:Maybe a really strong wind came

and blew 'em all away!Zak: Huh?

Ord: Or maybesomebody ate 'em,

somebody who lovesdragonberries even more

than I do. Mmm.

Cassie:Nobody loves dragonberries

more than you, Ord.

Max: Hey, look at this!

Something smushedthe ground over here.

Wheezie:What could do this?

Cassie: Something big!

Zak: Big? Oh![Gulps]

Do you think it might bethe same something big

who ate allthe dragonberries?

Something huge?

Emmy: We won't know unlesswe follow the trail.

Check this out.

Wheezie: A footprint.

Zak: A giant footprint!

Cassie: You meana giant's footprint.

Max: Ha!

And I bet I knowwhich giant.

Cassie: Sid Sycamore.

Max: No. Mungus.

Cassie: I know.I mean there's Sid Sycamore.

And Sid's the one

who can take usto visit Mungus!

Sid, chuckling:Hey, everyone!

So, uh, what brings youto my neck of the woods?

Emmy: We're lookingfor dragonberries,

and we think Mungus the Giantpicked them all.

Have you seen Munguslately?

Ord: And did he haveany dragonberries?

Sid: Ho! Ha!Did he have dragonberries!

Ho! He hadso many dragonberries,

it took three trips to get 'emall to his castle!

Max: I knew it!Emmy: We solved the mystery.

Mungus picked all thedragonberries in Dragon Land.

Ord: And hardly left anyfor the rest of us.

Sid: Well,

why don't you go upand ask him for some?

You think he'd share?

Cassie: It's worth a try.

Emmy: Sid, can you take usto see Mungus?

Sid: Hey, hey!Uh, sure thing, kid! Hop on!

Fee, fo, fum, fie.

Soon I'll be eatinga big fruit pie.

Max: Look at allthose dragonberries!

Mungus: Why,it's my little pals.

Did you come for a visit?

Emmy: Well, yes,

but we were also lookingfor dragonberries.

We wanted to pick some today,but there weren't any left.

Max:'Cause you picked them all.

Mungus: I did?I--I thought I left some.

Only one bush.

Mungus: Oh, I'm sorry.

I didn't meanto be selfish.

It's just that I need lotsand lots of dragonberries.

I'm baking my mommya giant-sized dragonberry pie.

All: A pie!

Mungus: Oh, I'm really sorryI picked so many berries.

I guess I didn't knowhow many I needed

to make my mommyher pie.

But there are plenty left.

Please, have some.

Ord: Thanks!

Cassie: You know,the do-re-mi birds

didn't getany dragonberries, either.

Mungus: Well,they can have some now.

[Whistling a tune]

[Whistling stops]

Birds:♪ Re...mi...fa... ♪

Max: Those do-re-mi birdslove dragonberries

almost as much as Ord.[Timer dings]

Mungus:Mmm, the pie's ready.

Would you guys likea slice?

[Smacks lips]

Just one slice?

Wheezie: This shouldfill you up, Ord.

Ord: I'm working on it.Ha ha ha!

Emmy: Mmm, that'sthe most delicious pie

I ever ate.

Max:And the biggest.

Emmy: Well, we'd betterget home now.

Ord: Bye, little buddies!Wheezie: See you next time!
