Could you help me find Blue?

Hi, Blue.

Oh, hi.

Blue's friend Green is here today.

We're playing with blocks.

Do you want to play with blocks, too?

Great, come on.

Blue and I love building with blocks.

And Green loves knocking blocks down.

Right, Green?

[barks "mm-hmm"]

But not to worry.

She's only knocking down her own blocks these days.

Come on.

So, can you guess what I'm building?

Good thinking.

I'm making a little block playground.

You know, for my cows.

I call it "Playground of the Cows."

See, this is a little cow seesaw

and this is a cow trampoline.

You know, for cows who want to jump over the moon.

Moo. Moo. Moo!

And now, I want to make a slide.

Which block should I use to make a slide?

The cylinder block

the triangular block

or the rectangular block?

The triangular block.

The triangular block?

Let's try it and see.

You ready, buddy?

Oh, yeah.

♪ Doopy-doopy-doopy-doo

♪ Doopa-doopa-doop.

Moo!

Oh, that was fun.

Yeah.

It's the perfect shape for a slide.

And Blue is going to build

a really, really, tall block tower.

Right, Blue?

[barks "mm-hmm"]

Hey, Blue, after you finish building

your really tall block tower, wouldn't it be nice

if my cows over here in the playground could come over

and visit your tower?

[barks happily]

Oh.

Oh, you want to build something

to connect my playground to your tower.

[barks "mm-hmm"]

That's a great idea.

What do you want to build?

Oh.

We'll play Blue's Clues to figure out

what Blue wants to build

to connect my playground to her tower.

♪ We are gonna play Blue's Clues ♪

♪ 'Cause it's a really great game ♪

So, remember

Blue's paw prints will be on the clues.

Blue's clues.

Look at that.

The paw print rearranged itself, like blocks.

How are we going to get rid of it?

Hey, Green?

[clears throat]

Will you do the honors?

[barks "mm-hmm"]

So, you know what we need to play "Blue's Clues"?

Our handy dandy...

Notebook.

...notebook, right?

Come on.

What do you think Side Table built?

It's the handy dandy notebook unloading ramp.

It's like a big slide.

Prepare to unload.

[beeping noise of truck unloading]

[sliding whistle]

Nice.

Hey, Side Table

your ramp is the same shape as our slide

although it looks like

you used more than one block to build it.

Well, I used

rectangular box and...

triangular box.

See?

Wow!

You're quite the builder, Side Table.

♪ To play "Blue's Clues," we got to find a... ♪

Paw print!

Oh, a paw print.

Right.

And that's our first... Clue!

A clue? A clue!

Then we put it in our... Notebook!

♪ That's the second clue

♪ We put it in our notebook, 'cause they're whose clues? ♪

You know what to do.

♪ Sit down in our thinking chair ♪

You know, I can tell

I'm really going to need your help today

trying to figure out what Blue wants to build

to connect my playground to her tower.

Will you help?

Great. Come on.

A clue, a clue!

Oh!

There's a clue on that... triangular block.

You know what we need?

Our handy dandy...

So, a triangular block.

Let's draw the three sides for a triangle

with a line for the side.

A triangular block.

So, we're trying to figure out what Blue wants to build

to connect my playground to her tower

and our first clue is... a triangular block.

So, what could we build with a triangular block?

Maybe.

But I think we should find two more clues.

[barking]

Blue, do you need some help building your block tower?

[barking "mm-hmm"]

Will you help Blue build her really tall block tower?

Great.

[barking happily]

Yeah, Blue, it's going to be important

to have a good, strong bottom of the tower.

Right.

A good foundation for all the other blocks

to go on top of so they don't fall down.

Okay, so which foundation do you think would be best for Blue

to build her tower on top off?

The rectangular blocks.

Oh, yeah.

That one with the rectangular blocks.

Looks pretty strong.

[barks "mm-hmm"]

Blue's building.

You see that, Blue?

Your strong foundation held up all those blocks.

I wonder what would have happened

if we had used a foundation that wasn't so strong.

Ooh, Green's going to show us.

What do you think is going to happen?

It fell.

The foundation wasn't strong enough.

Oh, so now, Blue wants to add

this long, rectangular block to her tower.

[barking]

But... but where should she put it

so her tower doesn't fall?

No.

No.

Yes!

In the middle?

Let's see.

[barking happily]

Look at that.

It balanced.

Putting it in the middle was a great idea.

But what would have happened

if we didn'tput it in the middle?

Ah, yes.

Green will show us.

It fell.

I guess if the blocks aren't centered

or in the middle, like Blues'

the tower could fall.

Oh, okay.

Um... Blue?

Do you want to put that rectangular block here?

[barks "mm-hmm"]

But it's-it's not in the center.

Oh.

Oh. You're going to put something here, too

to balance it.

Okay, so if Blue wants to put the rectangular block

on thatside

what should she put on thisside?

The cube, the rectangular block

or the two cubes?

The two cubes.

The two cubes?

Let's see.

It worked!

The two cubes together are the same size

as the rectangular block, so it balanced.

[barking happily]

That's a great idea, Green.

Let's see what happens

if you use different sized blocks.

I think it's going to tip.

Which way do you think it's going to tip over?

That way.

That way?

Let's see.

It did tip that way!

That big block was heavier

so it tipped to that side.

So, Blue, looks like

you've got the makings of a great tower.

You've got a nice strong foundation.

Everything is nice and centered.

And the weight is the same on both sides

so it's balanced.

Nice work.

A clue.

Yeah, that was cool.

No, a clue.

Yeah, Green's a demolition guru.

There's a clue in the block.

Oh.

Oh, there's a clue

on this triangular block.

Actually, we specialize in blocks.

We're building the road here

Okay. Now that we're in our thinking chair, let's think.

You will help, right?

Great.

So, we're trying to figure out what Blue wants to build

to connect my playground to her tower.

And our clues are:

a triangular block

another triangular block

and an arch block.

So, what could Blue want to build

to connect my playground to her tower

with two triangular blocks and an arch?

Wow. There's so many ways she could arrange the blocks.

I mean... well, she could take the two triangular blocks

and put them together to make a rectangle

like we did with the giant wall.

And-And then she could put the arch block on top.

Blue?

Is that what you want to build?

[barks "no"]

No.

Blue wants to build something else.

Well, let's rearrange the blocks.

Um... she could take the arch block and stand it up

between the two triangular blocks.

Yeah.

Then what would she be building

to connect my playground to her tower?

A bridge.

A bridge!

Blue could build a bridge!

Is-Is that what you want to build?

[barks happily]

We just figured out Blue's Clues!

[drumbeat]

Come on. Let's go build that bridge.

Wow. Look how big Blue's tower is.

Hey, remember how we helped Blue build

part of her really tall tower?

Now we have to build the bridge.

So, the cows can go up the triangle, which is a ramp

across the arch

and then down the second triangle

which is another ramp.

Okay, cows, prepare to visit the tower.

Oh, boy, this is going to be fun.

Oh, look at that tower.

That's... hey, Bessie.

You got to come over here and see this tower.

It's really cool.

Okay, here I come.

Just wait for me.

Oh, moo, yeah.

That's very nice.

[barking excitedly]

Look at that.

It's a road.

Where does it lead?

Hi.

Oh, hi.

Remember how we helped Architect

do some building?

Look at that.

The road connects the tower to the bank.

And the giant wall.

[barking excitedly]

So, the cows can play in the playground

and then walk over the bridge to visit the tower

then walk down the road to do some banking.

And visit the giant wall.

Wow.

What a great little town we made.

You really are an incredible block builder.
