Oh, you know, I was just wondering:

What is your favorite color?

Really?

You know, I didn't know that about you.

Wait, I'll give you a hint.

Yep, green, like my shirt and this piece of paper.

Green is definitely my favorite.

Today we're making a book of all of our favorite things.

[barking]

Yeah, Blue, it's called "The Big Book About Us."

I'm using this green paper to make my page for the book,

and I'm going to fill it up

with pictures of all of my favorite things.

And Blue's going to make a page,

and so is Tickety and Slippery and...

Hey... hey, do you want to make a page

for "The Big Book About Us," too?

You do?

Great.

Come on.

You can fill up your page

with pictures of all of your favorite things, too.

Blue's putting some pictures on her page.

Oh, what are those pictures of?

Oh, right, books.

We still need to find something

to put on the front of "The Big Book About Us."

Well, what could we put on the front?

Ooh... I know what that means.

We can play "Blue's Clues" to figure out

what we should put on the front of "The Big Book About Us."

So remember, Blue's paw prints will be on the clues--

Blue's clues.

Did you see? Paw print just wiggled away-- ha!

You know, I'd like to wiggle, too.

You know, wiggling is probably my favorite silly motion.

Matter of fact, I am a real wiggle master.

Ooh, I'm going to put that on my page.

See, I drew these lines to mean wiggling.

Oh, you know what we need to play Blues Clues?

I'm working on my page for "The Big Book About Us."

How come you have a purple singing hippo

on your page about you?

Well, my favorite color is purple,

hippos are my favorite animal,

and I love to sing.

So you put all of your favorite things together.

You know what we need?

Ooh, so our first clue is paper.

Let's start with a rectangle,

then another rectangle behind it and another-- paper.

So, what could we put on the front

of "The Big Book About Us" with paper?

Oh, maybe.

Let's find the other clues and see.

[alarm ringing]

Oh, looks like everybody's working on their pages

for "The Big Book About Us"

Hi, Joe.

Can you help me?

I picked the tree, this clock

and the birdhouse because they're all tall

like Grandfather Clock.

Nice.

But, um, what are these for?

Well, I like to count polka dots,

so I put one, two, three, four polka dots

on my page.

But now I want something

that is tall and has polka dots.

Okay.

So, something that is tall

and has polka dots.

Ooh, okay, if you were Tickety,

which would you choose?

The giraffe.

The giraffe?

Oh, this giraffe is tall

and it has lots of polka dots.

I love it!

Yeah, it's looking good, Tickety.

Hey, Joe, will you help me

with my page, too?

Yeah, sure, Pail.

Look, Joe, I put the fire truck

and the red balloon on my page

because my favorite color is red!

And I chose this carrot and broccoli

because I love to plant things in the garden.

Great, Pail.

But now I want something that is red

and can also grow in a garden.

Hmm, Pail wants something that is red

and grows in a garden.

If you were Pail, which would you choose?

The red tulip.

Yeah, the red tulip.

This tulip is red

and it can grow in the garden.

It's perfect for my page.

I put a shark and an octopus on my page

because I like things that are under water.

And I put that boat and a buoy

because I like things

But now I want something

that goes over the water and under the water.

Well, if you were Slippery, which would you choose?

The dolphin!

Oh, yeah.

So, our second clue is crayons.

First a line that curves around like this for the crayon,

two curves for the top and the bottom,

then another line and two curves for our second crayon...

and another one.

There-- crayons.

So, we're trying to figure out what we should put

on the front of "The Big Book About Us,"

and what was our first clue?

Paper.

Ah! Paper, right.

And our second clue is crayons.

So what could we put on the front

of "The Big Book About Us" with paper and crayons?

Hmm, maybe.

Let's find our last clue to know for sure.

Blue likes to make herself

really tall, like her flowers.

And I like to crouch down low,

like these short flowers.

These are all stickers of things that can fly.

Birds.

JOE: Hey.

All of Blue's choices are birds.

because of the sound they make.

Straight things.

JOE: Yeah, straight things.

Why did you choose straight things, Blue?

[barking]

Oh, yeah,

because you have a straight tail.

And I chose curvy things,

because I have a curvy tail.

See?

Our pictures are almost done!

a mirror.

I'll draw a line that curves for the handle

and goes around for the outside, a smaller shape for the frame,

some lines and a circle, and we have a mirror.

We have our third clue to figure out what we should put

on the front of "The Big Book About Us"!

We're ready to sit in our...

Thinking chair.

Thinking chair! Right-- let's go.

So, now that we're in our thinking chair, let's think.

What could we put on the front

of "The Big Book About Us" with paper...

crayons...

and a mirror?

Well, what if we took the paper and crayons?

What could we do?

Draw.

Draw-- right!

We could draw something, but what?

Well, what about this mirror?

Maybe we could look in the mirror and draw what we see.

Well, what would we see in a mirror?

Ourselves.

[barking]

Ourselves-- right.

We could draw pictures of ourselves

and put them on the front of "The Big Book About Us"...

like self-portraits.

We just figured out Blue's clues!

♪ Figured it out

♪ What Blue's clues were all about ♪

♪ Wow! You know what?

♪ We're really smart.

Hey, everybody, guess what--

we get to draw self-portraits

Great idea!
