We're finger-painting in the backyard.

Do you want to help?

Come on.

Blue is setting up the painting area.

Hey, everyone, look who's here.

Hi.

Hello.

[ barks]

Ooh, what colors do you think Blue was using?

Red.

Yellow.

Red and yellow.

Blue, you have red and yellow paint on your paws.

[ barks]

Oh, look at that.

Blue rubbed her paws together

and the red and yellow mixed

to make a new color.

What color did they make?

Orange.

Orange.

Blue, you mixed red and yellow to make orange.

Now we can add Orange Kitten to our painting.

That's a great idea.

Look...

we're using these finger paints

to make a picture of our friends.

We're calling it our Portrait of Pals.

[ barking]

Look, it's Orange Kitten.

Nice work, Blue.

Wow... look at all the friends

we're going to add to the Portrait of Pals.

And, of course, we'll need to add you

to our Portrait of Pals,too.

Blue, is there someone else

you want to add to our painting?

We'll play "Blue's Clues" to figure it out.

So remember, Blue's paw print will be on the clues--

Hey, Joe, what's your favorite color?

My favorite color is green, like my shirt.

My favorite color is orange,

like my drawer.

Orange is a nice color.

♪ To play Blue's Clues we've got to find a... ♪

Paw print!

Oh, a paw print, right.

And that's our first...

Clue!

A clue? A clue!

Then we put it in our... Notebook.

♪ We got to find another paw print, that's the second clue ♪

♪ We put it in our notebook, 'cause they're whose clues? ♪

♪ Blue's Clues!♪

♪ We got to find the last paw print, that's the third clue ♪

♪ We put it in our notebook,

♪ 'Cause they're Blue's clues, Blue's clues ♪

You know what to do.

♪ Sit down in our thinking chair ♪

♪ And think, think, think ♪

♪ 'Cause when we use our minds, take a step at a time ♪

[ chuckles]

I'm wearing my orange shirt

because orange is my new favorite color.

So, are you ready to play Blue's Clues

to figure out who Blue wants to add to our painting?

You are? Terrific!

Hi, Joe.

Oh, hey, Franny.

You see a clue?

[ giggles, then whistling]

Hey, Franny, have you seen a clue around here?

I just don't see it.

It's right there.

There's a paw print on the color... blue.

You know what we need-- our handy-dandy...

Notebook, right.

Oh, I get to use my blue crayon.

So, blue.

Let's draw a line back and forth like this.

There, the color blue.

So, who do you think Blue wants to add to our painting

with the color blue?

Ooh, maybe.

Let's keep looking for clues so we can know for sure.

[ Blue barking]

Ooh... let's go.

Do you want to help add

some more friends to our painting?

I want to add Shovel to the Portrait of Pals.

Well, what can we do to make the color green?

Mix the colors!

like we mixed red and yellow to make orange.

Brilliant.

Oh, maybe we can mix this blue with another color.

Okay, Joe, here I go.

Ooh, okay, I think I'm going to paint...

Uh-oh, looks like we don't have purple paint.

Well, what should we do?

Mix two colors to make purple, yeah.

Hmm, maybe we can mix something with... red.

Hmm, what color can we mix with red to make purple?

Blue!

The color blue.

Let's try it.

Look at that-- blue and red make purple.

Now I can paint Purple Kangaroo.

Voilà,Purple Kangaroo.

[ barks]

Ooh, look at all the colors we made--

orange and green and purple.

Great color mixing.

like the color of your letter.

Let's go!

Look-- there's red, one of my favorite colors.

another one of my favorite colors.

And there's Orange.

♪ It's so amazing when you stop... and stare ♪

Yeah...

Our third clue is on this... puppy.

We need our handy-dandy...

So, hmm... a puppy.

First, a line around like this for the head,

an oval for the body, the face, a tail,

add some legs and we have a puppy.

We have all three clues

to figure out who Blue wants to add to our painting.

We're ready to sit in our...

Come on.

Now that we're in our thinking chair, let's think.

So, who could Blue want to add to our painting

with the color blue...

the color yellow...

and a puppy?

Well... hey, what if we mix the colors?

Yeah.

Well, what color would we make if we mixed blue and yellow?

Green!

Green!

Blue and yellow make green.

So, who do we know that's a puppy and is the color green?

Green Puppy!

[ barks "Green Puppy"]

Green Puppy!

We just figured out Blue's Clues!

♪ We sat on down ♪

♪ Figured it out ♪

♪ What Blue's clues were all about ♪

♪ Wow! You know what? ♪

♪ We're really smart. ♪

Hey, Blue, is Green Puppy coming over

so we can add her to our painting?

[ barking]

Hey, Green Puppy, you're just in time.

Blue wants to add you to our Portrait of Pals.

SHOVEL: Here, Blue, you can paint Green Puppy

with this green paint we made with yellow and blue.

Our Portrait of Pals is complete.

[ all cheering]

Look-- there's Green Puppy next to Blue.

And there's me in my green shirt.
