Blue and I are just about to play "shape searchers."

[ barks "shape searchers"]

Do you want to play shape searchers, too?

You do?

Terrific!

Okay, first Blue picks a shape

from her bag of shapes.

[ barking happily]

A square.

My favorite shape,

with one, two, three, four sides

that are all the same length.

Oh, thank you.

[ barks "you're welcome"]

Okay, now we need to search

and see if we can find anything

that's shaped like a square.

Are you ready?

Okay, shape searchers, search.

Tell me if you find any squares.

Your shirt!

My shirt?

[ gasps]

Oh, yeah!

I'm covered in squares.

Wow, you're good.

Oh, come on.

Let's see if we can find anything else

that's shaped like a square.

A square!

I see it.

This picture frame is shaped like a square.

Way to go.

[ barks]

Blue, look.

We found some squares.

Wow, you know,

the living room is a great place

to play shape searchers.

I wonder where else we could play.

Blue, where do you want to search for shapes?

[ barking]

Let's play Blue's Clues to figure it out.

♪ 'Cause it's a really great game, yeah! ♪

So remember, Blue's paw prints will be on the clues--

I think Blue wants us to find another shape.

[ barking]

A circle.

[ barks "a circle"]

Yeah, a nice, round circle.

Okay, let's look for a circle.

Shape searchers, search!

Hi, Side Table Drawer.

Hello.

We're searching for circles.

What circles do you see?

Oh, yeah.

The buttons on this phone are circles.

And so are my eyes...

and my knob.

Here's your notebook.

Paw print!

♪ Oh, a paw print, right. ♪

♪ And that's our first... ♪

Clue!

♪ A clue? ♪ A clue!

♪ Then we put it in our... ♪

♪ We've got to find another paw print ♪

♪ That's the second clue ♪

♪ We've got to find the last paw print ♪

♪ That's the third clue. ♪

♪ We put it in our notebook ♪

♪ Sit down in our thinking chair and think, think, think... ♪

♪ Because when we use our minds ♪

♪ And take a step at a time ♪

It's time to look for Blue's Clues,

so we can figure out where Blue wants to search for shapes.

Will you help?

Oh, good.

Come on.

♪ Wonder where they are. ♪

[ cash drawer ringing]

I hear something.

[ ringing]

It's a clue!

Oh, it's a clue.

Wait, it's a clue?

[ ringing]

There's a clue on this cash register.

[ rings]

Okay, so we need our handy-dandy...

Notebook!

Notebook, right.

So, a cash register.

Let's draw the shapes we see.

First, a rectangle...

another rectangle for the drawer, a smaller one here,

then a straight line like this for the front,

a bunch of little squares for the buttons,

a circle for the knob...

There-- a cash register.

So our first clue is a cash register.

[ ringing]

Where could Blue want to search for shapes with a cash register?

[ ringing]

Oh, good thinking.

But let's keep searching for clues so we can know for sure.

TICKETY TOCK: Shape searchers!

Ooh, come on.

Hey, Blue.

Hey, Tickety.

Hi.

Do you want to play shape searchers

here in the bedroom?

You'll play, too, right?

You will?

Great.

[ barks]

Ooh.

What shape is that?

A triangle!

Oh, yeah, a triangle,

with one, two, three sides.

Let's look for a triangle.

Over here.

What triangle do you see?

The tree, right there.

Oh, yeah.

That pine tree is a triangle.

Way to go, shape searchers.

[ barking happily]

All right!

Tickety?

Blue?

Let's search for another shape.

Come on.

What shape is that?

An oval.

Oh, yeah, an oval.

It's kind of egg-shaped.

Let's try to find an oval

under the bed.

Shape searchers, search.

Hmm, what oval do you see?

That turtle, right there!

Oh, yeah, the shell on that turtle

is shaped like an oval.

Yay!

[ barks happily]

[ rings]

Come on, let's look for another shape.

[ barking]

What shape is that?

A rectangle.

Oh, yeah, a rectangle.

It has one, two short sides

and one, two long sides.

This way.

Let's see if we can find a rectangle

inside the closet.

What rectangle do you see?

The door, right there.

Oh, yeah, that little door

is shaped like a rectangle.

You are so good at this.

[ barks happily]

Thanks for looking for shapes in the bedroom.

Well, that's what shape searchers are for.

What was that?

A clue, a clue.

A clue rolled right past my shoe?

Where is it?

Right there.

Aha!

There's a clue on this cart.

All right, we need our handy-dandy...

So, let's start with a trapezoid.

A rectangle for the bottom...

a circle for the handle...

crisscrossing lines... wheels...

And we have a cart.

So our first clue was a cash register

and our second clue is a cart.

So where could Blue want to search for shapes

with a cash register and a cart?

Excellent thinking.

But let's keep searching so we can find our third clue.

MAILBOX: ♪ Mail time, mail time, mail time, mail time! ♪

The mail's here!

♪ Here's the mail, it never fails ♪

♪ It makes me want to wag my tail ♪

♪ When it comes, I want to wail, "Mail!" ♪

Hiya, Joe.

Here's your letter.

See, it's a rectangle,

and it has a little square-shaped stamp stuck to it.

Oh, yeah.

Blue just skiddooed into that felt frame...

which is shaped like an oval.

Let's go, too.

Now, this is a place to search for shapes!

[ gasps]: Look, a triangle.

I'm Rectangle.

And I'm Octagon.

Hi, Rectangle and Octagon.

What's up?

We want to make something together.

But we don't know what.

Will you help?

Let's make a sign.

Which of these signs has a rectangle and an octagon?

This sign has a rectangle for the post.

With an octagon on top, like me,

with eight sides.

This fish has an oval for the body...

a triangle for a tail...

and a crescent, like me, for the fin.

Crescent is kind of moon-shaped.

Look at us--

we're a fish.

So, we have two circles,

I'm Trapezoid.

Ah, Trapezoid.

We want to make a car.

a rectangle and a trapezoid?

This car has two circles for the wheels.

With a rectangle on top.

And on the very top,

a trapezoid, like me,

with two straight lines and two slanted lines.

We made a car.

we still need to find our last clue.

then a triangle for the carrot, a crescent shape for the banana,

lines on the can, a stem on the carrot,

and a curve on the banana.

[ gasps]

We have all three clues to figure out

where Blue wants to search for shapes.

We're ready to sit in our...

Thinking chair.

Yeah, our thinking chair.

Come on.

So, now that we're in our thinking chair, let's think.

So where could Blue want to search for shapes

with a cash register...

[ cash register dings]

a cart...

and food?

Well...

maybe it's someplace where you would use a cart,

and you could put the food in the cart,

and then bring the cart of food up to the cash register.

What place would that be?

A grocery store.

A grocery store!

That's it.

We just figured out Blue's Clues!

♪ We sat on down ♪

♪ Figured it out ♪

♪ What Blue's Clues were all about. ♪

Wow, you know what?

♪ We're really smart. ♪

[ song ends]

[ barks excitedly]

Come on, Blue.

Let's take a trip to the grocery store

and search for shapes.

[ barks]

[ barking]

Look, there's the grocery store.

Come on.

All right, Blue, get ready for a grocery store game

of shape searchers.

Will you help Blue search for shapes?

Oh, good.

I'll pick a shape out of the bag of shapes.

[ barking excitedly]

just like the triangle we found in the bedroom with Tickety.

All right, tell Blue if you see a triangle.

[ barking]

That cheese is shaped like a triangle.

Ooh, I wonder what shape we should find next?

What about me?

Oh, hi, Crescent.

[ barks "hello"]

All right, shape searchers,

let Blue know if you find a crescent.

[ barks]
