[tense pulsating music playing]

[breathing heavily]

- [Lockwood] Is anyone following?
- [Lucy] No.

But I wouldn't put it past Kipps
and that maniac from the library.

Do you think Penelope saw us?

Well, after tonight, I think we'll both
be off her Christmas card list.

Did you see that box she gave him?
It had that symbol on it.

The one George found on Fairfax's goggles.

- What, the harp?
- Yes.

And we know what a certified bastard
he turned out to be.

Still, we got the book.

- We did.
- Let's find the bone glass.

Let's finish this.

[theme music playing]

[whisper echoing]

[muffled grunts]

Evening, Karim. Best stay out of sight.
Don't wanna get spotted.

Why are we here?
The auction's miles away.

Winkman's g*ons are everywhere.
Any closer, they'll see us.

Oh, Jesus. Look at the smile on him.
This won't end well.

- [George] You're late.
- Sorry. Things got a bit weird.

- I think...
- Did you get the Dulac book?

Yeah, course we did. Now, what's the plan?

The auction's starting any minute
and Winkman's locked down the streets.

So, basically, we're screwed.

Oh, have a little faith, George.
London ain't just streets, you know.

Now stay close and no talking.

[all panting]

[engine puttering]

[Lockwood] Don't know why
I didn't think of this.

[Flo] It's what you pay me for, Locky.

[George] Is this it? Looks deserted.

That gangway takes you
to the back of Fothergill's.

No entrance from the street,
but there's a hatch into the basement.

It's unlocked. I've made sure.

Get in, get out, and get back.

But give me a warning.
I can't wait out here.

It's way too exposed. Radio me.

You're the best, Flo.

[Flo] Hold up.

I need one of you to stay.

Whatever you do, you'll be coming out hot.

To get away quick enough,
I need someone else doing this sh*t.

We could draw straws.

Don't be kind. It's unbearable.
It's clearly me.

- You don't mind?
- [George] Of course I mind.

Who gives a sh*t? This is Bickerstaff's
bone glass. We have to get it.

Don't mess this up.

[Flo] Be careful.

They're a lot worse than ghosts.

[pulsating music continues]

[both panting]

- [Lockwood grunts]
- [bag unzips]

[door clangs]

- And it's locked.
- [man ] Bring that one. Hurry up.

- Through there.
- [man ] Drag it.

- Bring that one as well. There's more.
- Come on.

[man ] Bring that...

- Drag it through. Going in.
- [Lockwood] sh*t!

- [door opens]
- [man ] Bring it down here now.

- [clanking]
- [men grunting]

[man ] Put it there.

sh*t. The hatch is unlocked.

If Julius sees this...

- [gasps]
- [scrapes]

[grunting]

- [loud thud]
- [groans]

- [coughing]
- Right, let's get the other one.

[coughing]

Yeah. Just give me a sec.

[coughing]

[door slams]

On the other side of that door,
there's about blokes who'll k*ll you.

Two sets of footprints.

And I caught a glimpse
of a rapier back there.

You've got three seconds to come out.

[sighs]

Jesus, you're children.

We're agents working on behalf of DEPRAC.

As I assume you are too.

You're undercover?
How many other agents are here?

None. Including you.

You're leaving. Now.

We can help each other out.
We're here to get the mirror too.

I'm here to infiltrate Winkman's
organization. You're not messing that up.

- You don't understand. This mirror...
- [agent] Listen to me.

I have a wife and daughter
I haven't seen for five months.

This is my job.

Do you have the first clue
who these people are?

- What they do to their enemies?
- What's in those drums?

[agent] You don't wanna know.

- [Lucy] And the padlock?
- I don't have a key.

We are not leaving without that mirror.

I'm a DEPRAC officer and I'm ordering you.
Get out before you get us all k*lled.

[grunts]

Straight out of here,
there's a door to the dock.

I'm gonna leave and walk right past it.

Once the guards have moved,
make a run for it and don't look back.

This is all I can do for you.
If it goes wrong, you're on your own.

[panting]

Huh.

Okay.

Okay.

[murmur of voices]

- [agent] Give us a hand?
- [man] We're meant to stay here.

- [agent] Mr. Winkman said it's fine.
- [Mrs. Winkman] Come on.

[Lucy] Come on. Quickly.

Oh, this is it. We can make it.

What are you doing?
Don't just stand there.

No. No way. You're not doing this.

I can't stop now.
I have to get the mirror.

We have to get out and call DEPRAC.
We're not trained for this.

Come on. He's taken a risk for us.

Go.

I have to stay.

[clattering]

[man whistling]

Ugh!

[door slams]

[Lockwood] They're wearing robes.

Why are you doing this?
We could have made it!

You should've gone. I never
asked you to wait. I told you to go.

So I'm just gonna walk out of here
without you, am I?

- Leave you to die and not look back?
- George? We're gonna need another exit.

- [bleep]
- [static crackles]

[feedback squeals]

- George?
- [moans] Jesus Christ.

You're incredible, you know?

The way you can lie to yourself like that.

- What are you talking about?
- Where do I start?

This job has gotten so out of control,
and you just refuse to acknowledge it.

All you care about is winning.

- It's... it's an obsession.
- Yeah, of course I care about winning.

I have to. I don't have anyone around me
to pick up the pieces if I fail.

Okay.

If there are things
I haven't told you about myself,

it's probably for your own good.

Bullshit.

Two hours ago, at that party,

you were petrified
at the thought of me leaving you.

You made me believe that
you, me, and George could be a family.

But Lockwood & Co. can never be that,
because at the center of it is you.

- And at the center of you is just a...
- Is what?

- A cold, dead heart of stone?
- Yeah, maybe.

But who knows, though?
'Cause you don't actually show anyone.

Nothing good comes from letting people in.

Everything ends and everyone leaves.

When my time comes,
I don't intend on leaving anyone behind

who's gonna lie there every night

wishing I would just walk
through that door one more time.

Then you never should have let me in.
Or George.

[voice breaking] Because now
it's far too late.

There are two men out there
due back here any minute with a barrel.

I don't plan on either of us
ending up in it.

Whatever else you have to say about me,
Lucy, it's gonna have to wait.

Put this on.

Please, Lucy.

[Flo] We got lucky with this mist.

Winkman's boys won't spot us
if we just hang back.

You all right, Georgie?

Can I call you Georgie?

- You're keeping track of where we are?
- I've got it.

Chill. We'll be there when they signal.

Any idea how long they're gonna be?

I didn't wanna mention it to Locky,
but I'm a bit double-booked.

- What?
- I've had a tip-off.

About something down Greenwich way.

If Locky's gonna be a while,
we could pop over.

You're joking.
We have to be there when they come out.

I wouldn't leave them stranded, Georgie.

- Just sayin', since we're doin' nothin'...
- What's the other item?

A possessed toothbrush?
A mesmeric old boot?

- [echoing squawks]
- Ssh! You hear that?

What is it? It can't be a visitor.

- Not on running water.
- The world's bigger than the Problem.

- Are you sure you saw something?
- [rapier unsheathes]

[Flo] Georgie, where are you?

I'm on a boat with a nutter.

But where are you?

I'm on the river.

- But where?
- I don't know!

You're with me, and you're safe.

So put your rapier down.

[machinery humming and clanking]

[thump]

[locks clicking]

- [Lockwood] Hold it together.
- [Lucy] You hold it together.

- [doors slam]
- [locks click]

[murmur of voices]

[Winkman] Good evening,
ladies and gentlemen.

- Old friends and new...
- Welcome, stragglers.

- [Winkman] You have my word...
- Have fun.

...that tonight's session
will be well worth your journey.

We have a plethora of items
up for auction tonight,

including a cigarette case
found on the beaches of Dunkirk,

permeated with the torment
of a fallen son.

The source of one of the nation's
most prolific murderers,

Anne-Marie Nelson.

- [woman ] We want the mirror!
- [man] Where is it?

- [clamoring]
- [woman ] Come on!

Come on!

Of course you do.

And here she is.

That rarity.

The piece that has so exercised
the hard-working people at DEPRAC

- these past few days.
- [crowd murmuring]

Recovered, at great cost,

from the grave of the visionary genius
Sir Edmund Bickerstaff.

We present to you

his bone glass.

[sound of flies buzzing]

[gasps]

[Winkman] A truly lethal item.

The mirrored surface itself, which has
been covered for your protection,

exudes a mesmeric attraction
more powerful...

[Lucy] There's too many people.
Let's stay quiet and see who buys it.

Flares? What am I supposed
to do with these?

[Lockwood] I need a distraction
to get to the mirror.

- Look out, I'll give you a signal.
- [Winkman] Bone fragments were inset...

[Lucy] This is insane.

- [flies buzzing]
- [crackling]

[Winkman] In my decades handling
relics of psychical significance,

this mirror is the most powerful object
I've ever encountered.

Your canaries may now approach.

No, they're babies.
They can't handle this.

- [Winkman] You, up. Get up.
- [Mrs. Winkman] Up, up.

- Up, up, up.
- Up, up. Up, up.

- [flies buzzing]
- [children crying out]

[screams]

- [girl] No!
- [Winkman] Turn.

- [girl] No!
- Don't make me hurt you.

- [girl screams]
- [flies buzzing loudly]

A most emphatic
endorsement of authenticity,

I'm sure you'll all agree.

So, why don't we start the bidding

at £ , ?

in the front straightaway.
Thank you, madam. .

. Thank you. . .
at the back. , yes. Do I hear ?

. , ...

- . ...
- [breathing heavily]

Flo? Flo, I think we're drifting.

- Have we lost position?
- I doubt it.

Don't worry, I'll check in a minute.

Drink. It'll keep you warm.

[George coughs]

Doesn't it get lonely?

The solitary relic woman life?

Mathilda looks after me.

And solitary is why I like it.

That and the running water.

Less ghosts.

But it's also just good for work.

The number of goodies
dumped in a river over centuries.

- You mean lethal sources.
- Not just sources.

Treasured things. Once loved, thrown away.

Like this. [chuckles]

That's... lovely.

Found it round the neck
of a drowned Dalmatian. Hah!

Who wore it best?

Mm... You did.

[chuckles]

[bird calling]

No way.

I saw a heron!

Oh, that's what it was back there.

- Did you see it?
- No. A heron?

You ever seen one up close?

They're beautiful.
Wildest things you ever saw.

Must be nesting
down Greenwich docks again.

[George] You want to abandon the mission
to go bird-watching?

- What game are you playing?
- Nature's infinite majesty, Georgie.

- Cuts through all the bullshit.
- Flo, no, no!

We're staying here for the mirror.

I know that.

But you were right. We have drifted.

And I need to get us back in position,
so you best let go.

[engine starts]

[Winkman] Can I get ?
there, thank you.

Looking for now. .
there, thank you.

Can I get ?
there, thank you very much.

Can I get £ , for this item?
in the room.

, please?

- [man] Here.
- , yes. Can I get ? ...

- [man from library] £ , .
- [crowd gasps]

- [man in crowd] What?
- [woman] Surely not...

[Winkman] £ , .

Thank you very much, sir.

Can I get ?

, anyone?

- [flares rattle]
- [Winkman] Last chance. ?

No? Going once. Going twice.

- . Thank you very much, sir.
- [Lucy whispers] What's he doing?

.

- .
- .

[Winkman] Uh, gentlemen,

your enthusiasm for this item
exceeds my high expectations.

Might I ask that you approach and provide
proof of means before we proceed?

[Mrs. Winkman] Just a formality,
of course, gentlemen.

[Winkman] Thank you, sir.

Thanks very much, sir.

And you, sir.

[gasps]

- [Winkman] In your own time, sir.
- [grunts]

He's got a rapier. He's an agent!

[Lockwood grunting]

[Lucy] sh*t. Come on, come on, come on.

- Come on.
- Get him up here now.

[Lockwood groans]

Okay. Let's see who we've got here.

[crowd murmuring]

You?

Where's the other one?
There were two of them!

- Out of my way!
- [Winkman] Find her.

No one leaves this room.

- She has to be here somewhere!
- [grunts]

[gasps]

[clamor]

[hissing]

- [Winkman] Stop him!
- [screaming]

[Winkman] Stop him, you cowards!

How do we get out of here?

It's padlocked! [whimpers]

[Winkman] Down here!

[laughs]

Easy now.

[Lucy] Lockwood.

It's okay. Give me the rapier.

Give me the bone glass,
and I'll make this quick.

[breathing shakily]

Do you know him, do ya?

No, boss.

You sure about that?

[agent] Yes, boss.

Convince me.

What?

[inhales shakily]

[panicked breathing]

[agent yells]

- I knew it, you snake!
- [agent] Stay back!

I'm a DEPRAC officer. This place
is surrounded. Lay down your weapons.

- You got family, mate? I'm gonna find 'em.
- George!

- Get him!
- [roars]

[yelling]

[agent screams]

Go, Lockwood!

- [machinery humming]
- [gasping for breath]

George? We really need help.

[static crackling]

George!

Come on.

sh*t! They've radioed up!
They're stopping the lift at four.

They know we're coming. [yelps]

- We need to get out of here now!
- [clank]

[Lucy grunting]

[Lucy] Where are the other sources?

[gasps and grunts]

[hissing]

Go, go!

- [ghost screeching]
- [men yelling]

[screaming and shouting]

Lockwood, snap out of it!

They just k*lled him like that.

I know. We need to go.

- What did he die for?
- Because they're bastards!

It's because I am.

Lockwood. Please, Lockwood,
you can't do this right now.

- [man] They're up here!
- Lockwood, look at me!

- [man] Up these stairs!
- Yeah? You were right.

The mirror is too important.

Now, please, please, just get back
to being a flippant dickhead

and get us through this.

[Winkman] Ha-ha!

Hello!

- [Lucy] Come on!
- You're next!

- [hissing]
- [Winkman] No! Get back!

- Get back, get back!
- [Lucy] Run!

[faint sound of flies buzzing]

[buzzing continues]

[footsteps]

- [keys jingling]
- [buzzing fades]

[Flo] Has either of your colleagues
told you you look really unwell

and seem a bit obsessed with this mirror?

'Cause if you were on my watch,
I'd be saying, "Georgie,

you've got a waxy air
of desperation, mate."

"You need to step back and relax,
'cause something's eating you alive."

You think I'm losing it?
At least I haven't given up.

Look at you. You're the walking checklist
of ghost trauma.

You don't know what happened,
and I ain't gonna tell you.

I've seen more kids messed up by ghosts
than you'll meet in your life.

And I see you.

[faint heron call]

Where have you taken us?

- Take us to the wharf.
- No.

You're mesmerized, Georgie.

We can smell our own.
I needed to get you away from it.

- You're crazy! You sabotaged me!
- Only 'cause I like you.

Get us to the wharf.

- [flies buzzing]
- [grunts] Get us to the wharf!

[buzzing continues]

[heron calling]

[buzzing fades]

[rapier clatters]

I'm sorry.

I'm so sorry. You were just trying
to help me, and I could've hurt you.

Nah. Even with the rapier, you'd have been
dead before you hit the water. [scoffs]

- [static crackles]
- [Lucy] George? George!

- Can you hear me?
- Yes! Are you at the pontoon?

- George! Can you hear us?
- Lucy!

- Let's go and get them.
- What about everything you just said?

They'll have the mirror.

I'll be with you,
and Locky will keep hold of it.

You're an agent. You've got this.

[engine puttering]

George? [panting]

- Oh, George, come on!
- [bleep]

[man from library]
It is carnage down there.

An impressive way to announce yourselves.
That's two parties you've ruined tonight.

You were at the ball?

You must be Lockwood & Co.

You're that tosser with the golden blade.

The "Golden Blade". I quite like that.

[Lockwood] How do you know who we are?

Oh, it's the least
of what I know about you...

Anthony.

Now,

give me my bone glass.

- [rapiers clang]
- [Lucy grunts]

[coughs]

Not quite up to the big leagues, are you?
You've got ambition at least.

Sets you apart from the bottom feeders,
like that DEPRAC agent.

[groans and gasps]

Why would anyone do such a dangerous job
for so little money?

That's enough about him.

Get over it.
I'd already told Winkman who he was.

I think they were planning to k*ll him
live on stage as a finale.

You really ruined the end of that auction.

You told him?

How did you know?

Who are you?

Are you Fittes?

I'm the iron in your sword.

I'm the flame
that keeps the furnaces burning.

Oh, shut up!

Enthusiasm and technique.

Enough to put you in the ground,
you pretentious prick.

[both grunting]

Oops.

- [yells]
- [grunts]

[gasps]

[tense music playing]

Drainpipe. We can climb down.

That can't be our escape.

[George] Lucy?

Lucy, we're here. Where are you?

George. We're on the roof. There's no way
we're getting down to the pontoon.

Come closer. We're gonna
have to throw it to you. Do you copy?

- What if I lose it in the river?
- You won't.

Plus we don't have any other choice.
Trust me, George.

It has to come down to you now.

Catch it, and get it to DEPRAC.

We're gonna find our own way home.
Do you copy?

- I copy, I copy.
- George, help me with the net.

[grunts]

[yells]

[George] Get us out of here!

[grunts]

That was mine!

[Lockwood] Oh, Jesus, give up!

The bone glass is
with DEPRAC now. It's over.

You don't understand
the game at all, do you?

No. No, no, no, no, no.

No, Lockwood.

Lucy, he'll k*ll you!

[gasping]

["Cruel World" by Phantogram playing]

You're not coming in?

Not sure they'd let me out again.

Come on. You're strong enough.
You're literally at the door.

Yeah.

I did have another idea, though.

What if we take Mathilda
out to the Medway? Forget this lot.

We'll just drop it in where
it's so deep, no one will ever find it.

And afterwards, maybe we could check out
this little island.

There's loads of herons nesting on it.

Or whatever.

- You're here already, so...
- It's just... the plan.

Yeah.

Cool.

See ya!

Flo?

Flo!
