[Camila] We would like to say

Malik is now part of our lives.

[laughter]

[laughter]

[elevator bell dings]

[footsteps approaching quickly]

[rumbling]

[phone vibrating]

[Camila] Your father
had a stroke.

We're in the hospital.

We'll be right there.

I told you there was something
wrong with this reality.

- Alma, it could have happened in any reality.

Mom.

- [sighs] You made it.
- [Becca] Of course.

- Where is he?
- What's going on? Where's Dad?

They took him to surgery.

They found a blood clot.

He's paralyzed
on his right side.

[sobbing] He can't talk.

How could he do this to me?

- He'll recover.

that would prevent this stroke.

that hard things

through this kind of stuff,

- But not Dad dying.

the bad choices I've made.

[Alma] Dad strived to do
what was right.

Sometimes he got it wrong.

But when he did, he was able
to see himself and try again.

And not just for him,
for everyone in his life,

to make our lives better.

Maybe that's what we're
ultimately meant to do here.

Face ourselves, for the sake
of our relationships.

For the people we love.

Maybe that's all that matters.

These invisible threads running
between us and through us,

throughout time.

These invisible lines
that bind us and set us free.

[voice breaking] I'm so happy
to be tied to all of you,

and I know Dad was, too.

I can't believe he's gone,

'cause I can still feel
the tug of that tie.

But someone very cool

...part of life is accepting

that bad things are
gonna happen.

And finding ways...

to move through them together.

[chuckles]

[insects trilling]

[door rattling]

Having trouble

From the other time line
before I came through,

when I wasn't sure

and my brother were left behind.

Seeing you and Dad together,

in love, and having Alejandro
in our lives,

seeing the joy
that he brings you,

that he brings all of us.

It's been really nice.

I guess it has been
