this way before the accident.

This scar is from a dialysis shunt.

(Tommy sighs)

can be caused by a lot of things.

Renal failure is not usually
at the top of that list.

Detective McGregor, that-that patient

couldn't have been more than three hours

off of the operating table

after having a kidney transplant.

- TOMMY: So...

you are required to be hospitalized

for four to six days.

Whichever hospital released him
is facing criminal negligence charges.

McGREGOR: Well, here's the thing.

No hospital anywhere
near that accident site

performed a kidney transplant on a guy

matching John Doe's description.

Okay, Lexi, listen, my name is Grace.

I'm getting some help to you, okay?

But in the meantime, we gotta
get you out of that bathtub


so that you don't get hypothermia.

(groans sharply)

(whimpers) Somebody cut me open.

There's staples, and it's leaking bad.

(Lexi breathing heavily)

and figure out
which of their rooms right now

are currently
using their landline, okay?

It can't be that many of them.

(gasps)

I'm gonna die in here, aren't I, Grace?

GRACE: No, ma'am.

Rescue . What's your status?

PARAMEDIC (over phone): We're on scene.

GRACE: Just start knocking on doors.

Lexi, listen, help is at the hotel,
so if you hear a knock at the door,

(breathing muffled, echoes)

(somber music playing)

I'm putting her on the LifePak.
Start drying her off.

GRACE: Rescue . I need the
patient's status when you're able.


PARAMEDIC: She's in V-tach.

Stand back. Clear.

(thuds)

Patient's unresponsive.

Shocking her again. Clear.

- Shock.
- -(defibrillator thuds)

She's back in sinus.

- Ma'am, can you hear me?
- (monitor beeping)

(weakly) Uh, yeah.

PARAMEDIC: We're gonna take care of you.

Start a line. Run it wide open.

Dispatch, patient
is awake and responsive.

- PARAMEDIC: Please let West Park know

that we are bringing her in now.

PARAMEDIC: Copy that.

(line beeps)

So, Robert, you were saying
that this is your first time in Texas?

ROBERT STRAND:
I've been through it before.

when you're traveling east
from Southern California.
