It's me, Steve.

Have you seen Blue, my puppy?

We're going on a nature walk later today.

Do you want to come?

Great!

We're just about to go check the weather.

Just go look out the window.

You know, I'm a little nervous to look.

I mean, what if the weather's bad?

If the weather's bad, we can't go on our nature walk.

Will you look for me?

You will?

Oh... thanks.

So, what's the weather like outside?

Sunny!

[barks "sunny?"]

Sunny! Yeah!

So it's going to be a sunny, warm

perfect-for-a-nature-walk kind of day.

[barking no]

No? Blue?

You mean, you think the weather might change?

[barking yes]

Well, what kind of weather do you think is coming?

[barking]

Great idea!

We'll play Blue's Clues to figure out

what kind of weather Blue thinks is coming.

♪ We are gonna play Blue's Clues ♪

♪ 'Cause it's a really great game, yeah. ♪

So remember, Blue's paw print will be on the clues.

Now we just need to get rid of this paw print.

[puffs]

I have an idea.

Maybe we can be like the wind

and blow it off.

Will you help?

[blowing strongly]

[squeaks]

So, to play Blue's Clues, we need our handy-dandy...

Hi, Steve.

[grunting]

Everything okay?

Sometimes my drawer sticks...

when the weather is changing.

Oh, well, I hope it doesn't change too much

because we're going on a nature walk.

To play Blue's Clues, we got to find a...

Paw print!

Oh, a paw print, right.

And that's our first... Clue!

Then we put it in our... Notebook.

♪ You know what do-- sit down in our Thinking Chair ♪

♪ 'Cause when we use our minds, take a step at a time ♪

Oh, a cloud!

You know what we need.

Our handy-dandy...

So... a cloud.

Mm-hmm.

A puffy line all around.

And we have a cloud.

So, we're trying to figure out

what kind of weather Blue thinks is coming

and our first clue is... a cloud.

So what kind of weather

could Blue think is coming with... a cloud?

Yeah... maybe, but, uh

we better keep looking for more clues.

[radio static...]

MRS. PEPPER: Steve!

We are trying to hear a weather report.

To see if we can go on our nature walk.

Oh, that's a great idea.

But the radio isn't working.

[static]

Hmm...

Hey, maybe we can do our own weather report.

I've always wanted to be a weather reporter.

Will you be a weather reporter with me?

Great! Come on!

Here's your microphone.

Hi, this is Steve the weather reporter

interrupting your regularly scheduled game of Blue's Clues

to report on weather from the kitchen window.

So, what do you see that's changing?

A cloud!

A cloud?

Oh, you mean that big, dark cloud.

What do you think is making that cloud move like that?

[wind blowing]

The wind!

Oh, of course, the wind.

The wind is blowing a big, dark cloud

across the sky.

What else do you see changing?

It's blocking the sun.

Oh, right, it's blocking the sun.

This is Steve the weather reporter

reporting that there are clouds blocking the sun

and it's getting darker.

I wonder what else is changing.

Did you see that?

What just happened?

The red line went down.

Yeah, the red line on that thermometer went down.

What does that mean?

It's colder.

Yeah... it is colder.

Hey, maybe that's because the sun makes us warmer.

So when the clouds block the sun, we get colder.

This is Steve the weather reporter

reporting that the sun is behind a big, dark cloud

and it's getting windy and colder out.

Really?

Well, I mean, it could just be a really cold and windy

great-for-a-nature-walk kind of day.

Except, of course, for all that rain.

and we can't go on our nature walk in the rain.

Ooh, but we can get the mail. Come on.

Neither rain nor sleet nor snow nor mist

nor fog nor frost nor rainbow

will keep me from bringing you the mail.

I'd better get back

before the weather changes again.

What, you think the weather might change?

Yup.

I just feel it in my flag.

Look, the wind is blowing.

It's a partly cloudy, kind of windy day.

It's a perfect day to play.

Yeah. Even though it's a rainy day

we can still look for clues.

Then I'll write it down.

Hey, you know what we need.

with a point on the top.

So, we're trying to figure out

what kind of weather Blue thinks is coming.

And what was our first clue?

A cloud!

A cloud, right.

And now our second clue is a drop of water.

So, what kind of weather do you think

Blue thinks is coming with a cloud and a drop of water?

Yeah, that, that's a good idea.

But you know, we should probably find our last clue.

You know, just to be absolutely sure.

[Blue barking]

Hey, let's go check the weather now.

I mean, after all, it could have changed.

[barking]

Is it still raining?

[barks "still raining"]

Yeah?

Yup.

Still raining.

You know, I love the rain.

But why does it have to rain

on our nature walk day?

I wonder where rain comes from, anyway.

[barking]

Oh... great idea, Blue.

Maybe we can skidoo

to figure out where rain comes from.

[barking "Blue Skidoo"]

♪ Blue skidoo, we can, too.

Wow, cool! Ha!

Looks like we're ready for rain.

Except it isn't really raining very hard here.

Well, how are we supposed to find out

where rain comes from if it isn't even raining?

Oh!

Hi. We're trying to figure out

where rain comes from, and...

I'm going to be a raindrop.

Really? You are?

Well, you're water.

From a puddle.

Uh-huh.

Rain comes from all sorts of places.

Ponds, oceans... even puddles.

Really?

Well, how do you become rain?

I'll show you.

We're all on our way.

[clears throat]

What's happening?

Right now

I'm getting nice and warm.

Really?

Well, what do you think

is making that water drop warm?

The sun!

Oh, right, the sun is making the water warm.

Hey, you...

Hey, where did that water drop go?

I'm here.

I'm just all spread out.

When we get warm, we turn into vapor.

Oh, so vapor is water all spread out in the air.

Cool.

So, what's happening to that vapor now?

It's going up.

Oh, yeah.

It's going up.

Into the sky.

Come on, Steve!

[barking]

Whoa. [laughs]

Here we go.

[barking]

Okay.

[barking]

Where are we going?

To meet up with other drops that have turned to vapor.

Hi, everybody!

[barks "hello"]

Look at that.

All of the vapor is joining together.

It's getting kind of foggy in here.

Let's try to see what's going on.

[barks]

So, what are they making?

A cloud!

Oh, yeah.

The vapor that floated up here

is coming together to make a cloud.

Let's take a closer look.

Hey, look at that.

What's happening to them?

They're turning into water drops.

Oh, yeah, they're becoming water drops again.

We're getting too heavy to stay in the sky.

It's time to drop.

[barks]

So, now that the water drops

are getting too heavy to stay in the sky

what's happening?

It's raining!

Oh, of course!

It's raining!

[barking]

Time to go, Blue!

[barks]

Come on, Steve!

[barking]

Wow, that was great.

Too bad it's all over.

But we get to do it again.

♪ I'm lying out in the sun

♪ And I'm soaking up some rays

♪ Now it's getting warm today ♪

♪ Hey, hey...

♪ Into vapor I change

♪ See how the earth gets drier ♪

♪ As I climb higher and higher

♪ Hey, hey...

♪ When the vapor arrives ♪

♪ in the sky

♪ It forms a cloud

♪ Floating high above the crowd ♪

♪ Hey, hey...

♪ Vapor changes back into drops ♪

♪ And starts to fall on your rooftops ♪

♪ Back to the earth ♪

♪ just to start all over again ♪

♪ This is how the rain comes ♪

♪ Here's how it rains

♪ Listen to the raindrops ♪

♪ Falling down

♪ Falling down...

Hey, we did it!

We figured out where rain comes from!

Steve, we have to go.

The wind blows away old weather

and brings new weather here.

I can't wait to see what's next.

[wind blowing]

Okay, now that we're in our Thinking Chair, let's think.

You will help, right?

Great.

So, we're trying to figure out

what kind of weather Blue thinks is coming.

And our clues are...

a cloud...

a water drop...

and "freezing."

So, what kind of weather could Blue think is coming

with a cloud, a water drop and "freezing"?

Well, let's see.

Hey, what happens when water falls from a cloud?

It rains!

Yeah, it rains, right.

Ooh, but what if it's freezing?

You know, really, really cold.

Well, what kind of weather comes when it freezes?

Snow!

It snows...

Yeah, of course!

Blue! Do you think that snow is coming?

[barks "snow is coming"]

Great! We just figured out Blue's Clues!

♪ 'Cause we're really smart.

It's snowing!

[barks]

You know what that means?

That means we can go on a snowy nature walk!

Yeah, and we can follow our footprints in the snow

and we can catch snowflakes in our hands

because it's a snowy, cold, perfect-for-a-nature-walk kind of day.

[barks]

And look...

the line on the thermometer got even lower.

It did get colder.

[barking]

Come on!

♪ Snowing...

Ah...

Hi, Steve, hi, Blue.

[barks "hello"]

Hello.

Have we met?

Remember me?

I used to be a water drop in a puddle.

Then I became vapor.

Then I became a raindrop.

And now I'm a snowflake!

Oh, yeah!

We remember you.

[barks]

But why are you snow?

Well... when it's freezing, I become snow.

Oh. [laughs]

Well, you want to come on a nature walk?

Yeah!

Let's go.

[barks]

Oh, this is great.
