- Deputy andy.

Announcer:
previously on eureka...

- Well, it's official.
I was just named captain

of the astraeus.
- Captain monroe.

- Thank you,
ground commander deacon.

- Can you believe this morning
we watched the sun rise on earth

and tonight we'll watch saturn
set on titan?

- You're sure you don't want
to come along?

We can probably share
my biopod.

- Be safe up there.

- There's my baby.

I missed you guys.
- Hey.

- I think that we should move in
together.

- I'm locked out of the system,
the ship is about

to launch,
and I can't stop it.

- Jack!
Jack!

- Final launch command
initiated.

- Where'd they go?

[air hissing]

[static]

[alarms blaring]

- computer, flight status.

- Primary flight systems
offline.

Three minutes to impact.

- Impact?
Where?

- Navigation systems offline.

- Damn it.

Grace, you got to wake up now.

You got to wake up now.
- Allison?

What are you doing here?

- We're
in an uncontrolled descent.

- Wait, wait, wait,
what, what?

- But the autopilot
should engage.

- Well, it didn't--

- Warning:
two minutes to impact.

- Get to the bridge.

- This is really bad.

- Zane, get the nav systems
back up.

Holly, I need orbital thrusters
to slow our descent,

and drop the blast shields
so we have a visual.

- On it.

- 60 seconds to impact.

- Zane.
- I'm trying.

- Primary navigation's back.

- Thrusters are online, but
the autopilot isn't engaging.

- Then we'll go manual.

- I'm on it.
I need eyes!

- Almost there.

Shields lifting.

[gasps]
- pull up!

- Zane.

- It's gonna be close.

- Gear down!

- Brace for impact.

- [Exhales]

- [yawning]

[groans]

hey.

are we there yet?

Allison!

What are you doing here?

- Something went wrong
with the launch.

Jack tried to stop it,
but he couldn't.

- So you ended up on titan
after all.

yay.
- Not a consolation, holly.

- Yeah, but where on titan?

The navigation systems
still aren't working.

- Only one way to find out.

- Entering zero pressure
airlock.

[machinery whining]

- well, we're definitely
not in kansas anymore.

- These atmospheric readings
don't make sense.

Something's not right.

- Gangway!

First.

- That's mature.

- Douglas fargo,

first human being on titan,
baby.

- Uh, yeah, maybe not.

These sensors say
the air is oxygen-rich.

- How's that possible?

- It's not.

- Aliens!
Run for your lives!

[sirens wailing]

- all teams move
to secure the area.

All teams move
to secure the area.

Set up for r-5
containment protocols.

- Have them stand
by the vehicles.

Wait for command.
- Lock down the perimeter.

Restricted access until...

- Down, girls.

- Robo-team, stand by.
- Wait for the word.

- Hey, folks.

Welcome back.

Quarantine everything.

- Yes, sir.

[overlapping chatter]

- hello, director
of global dynamics here.

I demand an explanation.

Guys?

- Hi, yes, I'm not a fan
of small spaces,

so could I just--hello?

- Security,
get henry.

I want my
ground commander now!

Hello?

- Read my lips--if you
try probing me, I'm suing.

- Please.

Can someone please tell me
what's going on?

Please!

- Allison.
- Jack, thank god.

What the hell is happening?

- You're back.

- Yeah, clearly,

but andy's going
a bit overboard

with the decontamination
protocols.

We've only been gone
a few minutes.

- Yeah.

You've been gone
a little longer than that.

- Wh--what do you mean?

How long?

- Four years.

- What?

- Four years?

- Four years
and two months.

- That can't be.
I mean, for us it was nothing.

A flash.
Maybe, maybe a few hours.

- We did everything we could.

Senator wen used all
the resources at her disposal,

and we searched
for a year

before the d.o.d.
Shut us down.

- Faster-than-light
technology,

I mean,
it could have made us

experience time passage
differently,

but...

Years?

- Henry and I searched
for longer.

But eventually,
we gave up hope.

Henry hasn't been the same.

None of us have.

- Where are my kids?

- They're fine.
Fine.

They're fine.
Kevin's in college.

- College!
- College.

Yeah. Harvard. Early admission,
top of his class.

Zoe's at med school,
so she's keeping an eye on him.

- Jenna?

- She's as smart
and beautiful as her mom.

Andy gives me clearance,

I can take you
to go see her.

- Andy is the head
of gd security?

- Um...

There have been
a lot of changes

since you've been gone.

- Don't worry, folks.

As soon as you finish
your medical exams,

we'll get you right back
to your families.

You gave us all
quite a scare there.

[chuckles]

- andy,
where's henry?

Does he know we're back?

- Dr. Deacon no longer
has security clearance

to enter global dynamics.

- I don't understand.

- As ground commander,
the d.o.d. Held him responsible

for the loss
of the astraeus.

He took the tragedy
very hard.

I'm sorry.

- Easy with that thing.

I'd like
to have kids some day.

- Ha.
Oh, god, help us.

- Relax, jojo.
I said some day.

Well, apparently, I haven't
eaten in four years,

and I'm starving.

You want to grab lunch?

Catch me up
on what I missed?

- Yeah.

- Dr. Fargo,
dr. Martin,

it's so nice
to have both of you back.

- Oh, thanks, andy.

- You must be anxious
to see your families.

- Actually neither of us
have family here.

- Or friends really.

- Well, I'm sure
that can't be true.

- The point is we need
to get up to speed

on what we've missed.

Also I will be resuming my post

as director of global dynamics
effective immediately.

- About that.

Actually the position
of director

has kind of been filled.

- Well, then, unfill it.

I was on a leave of absence.

I have a contract.

- Had a contract.

It expired years ago.

- I guess you should have
negotiated a longer term.

- I think you'll find
a lot of things have changed

for the better at gd.

We do run
a pretty tight ship.

Don't we, handsome?

- Sure do, big guy.

- Gah!

- That's so cool.

- Don't you two worry.
I'm sure

the new boss will find
you all something to do.

She is--
She's pretty great.

[sighs]

- she who?

- Welcome back, Dr. Fargo.

- S.a.r.a.h.?

Is that you?

- In the flesh.

- I wish.

- Sheriff carter's smart house
is running global dynamics?

- I was never happy
being a housewife.

- Well, you were never just
a housewife to me, sweetheart.

- Thank you, honey.

- My furniture,
where did it go?

That was imported.

- I found furnishings
unnecessary

once I took over.

- S.a.r.a.h., I created you
to help us,

not the other way around.
- But I do help.

Global dynamics has gone
1,468 days

without a single accident.

It's a brave new world.

- Hi.

- Where's jenna?

- She's here.

She's just a little shy.

It's a lot to take in.

So...

- Tell me about it.

Jack, I don't know...

What do I say?

- I don't know.

But you're back.
It's good news,

so we'll figure it out,
right?

Jenna.

Jenna.

Someone here is anxious
to see you.

- [Exhales]

- allison.

This is jenna.

Jenna...

This is your mom.

- Hey. I can't believe
how big you've gotten.

- It's very nice
to meet you.

- Henry?

Henry!

Henry?

[both crying]

- you're really here.

- It's me, love.

I'm here.

- I knew you were out there
somewhere.

They said
that you were gone,

but I never gave up.

Never gave up.

- It's okay.
It's okay.

I'm here now.

Andy told me--

- Shh-shh-shh.

They're listening.

- And a triple sh*t of an
espresso latte with extra sugar.

- Thanks, man.

- Welcome back, zane.

- So a.i. Computers
are running gd,

and people are really
okay with that?

- No.

We don't have a choice.

Senator wen mandated it.

Carter and I
still protect the town,

not that there's much
to protect it from.

- So robots are in charge,
you're back in uniform--

Any other changes
I should know about?

- Well, there is this--

This one thing that--
[mechanical whirring]

uh, do you mind?

We're trying to have
a private conversation here.

- Let's just go inside.

- No. We're talking.
So just back off.

- Return to your seat.

- Or what?

[beeping]

- and this is
from my art class.

It's my family portrait.

- Oh, honey,
it's beautiful.

- Thank you.

- You have ten seconds
to comply.

- Oh, hell.
- What's that?

- Damn.
- You can't handle me

on your own?
- Okay, just take it easy.

- Three...
- Zane!

- Two, one.

- What the hell?
[yells]

- what did you do?

- Zane.
His pulse is weak.

- Zane, zane,
can you hear me?

Shock sent his heart
into v-fib.

Zane!

[muffled rumbling]
- can you hear me?

- We're losing him.

- Zane, can you hear me?

Pressure's back up.

Zane, can you hear me?

[sirens wail]

- hi, buddy.

You gave us a bit of a scare.

- At ease, girls.

Please take Mr. Donovan
to the infirmary.

Boy, only a few hours

and already finding trouble,
you scamps.

- The martha drones fired
on unarmed civilians.

- Miss lupo provoked them.

- Nah, it's unlikely.

- The marthas and I
are networked.

Got the old incident report
right here, sheriff.

- Why don't you try talking
to the people

who actually saw
what happened

and not the machines?

- Well, allison--
- Human perception

is inherently flawed,
dr. Blake.

The eyewitness accounts
of a.i. Individuals

are far more reliable.

- Daddy, what's wrong?

- Oh, nothing's wrong,
sweetie.

Everything's fine.

We're just
sorting things out.

- That's right.

Clearly Dr. Blake is exhausted
from her ordeal.

Sheriff, why don't you take her
home so she can get some rest?

I'm sure
she would like to spend

some time
with her daughter.

- Yeah.

What about jo?

- Well, people's emotions

are running high
with the return of the crew.

I see no need
to press charges.

For now.

- Thanks.
- What is that?

[overlapping chatter]

- trust me, you are going
to love working here.

So are you ready to meet
your new team leader?

Please.

- Oh, no.
- Oh, yes.

- Isaac.

- Holly.

You have not aged a day.

- I haven't actually.

- Dr. Fargo, let me be
the first to say

how thrilled I am
to have you back.

- Oh, please,
you hate me.

You wanted my job

and my girl,
and you lost.

- I'd say this
more than makes up for that.

The worm has turned.

- I'm out of here.
- Time out, folks.

Dr. Parrish.
- Yes.

- I expect you
to work collaboratively

with Dr. Fargo
and Dr. Martin.

- But--
- No buts.

- But I--
- I want you

to adjust your attitude,
mister.

- Things aren't
what they seem.

You're not safe here.
Well...

No one is.

And if they find
this place,

they'll come for us.

- I don't understand.

- They're watching us,

but we're watching them.

- Them?
- The d.o.d., senator wen,

the andys.

They called off the search,
grace.

They made an example of me
so they could take over.

But you're back now,

and you can help fix this...

Before it's too late.

- This is my house.
It's underground.

- Sorry, laundry day.

- I know.
I used to live here too.

Or I was about to.

[chuckles nervously]

so since when
is the front door manual?

- Ah, since my smart house
got dumb.

Thank you, sweetie.

- You want to see my room?

- Yes, I would love to.

- Right, and then bed.

Teeth, jammies,
you know the drill.

- Can you read me
a book tonight?

- There is nothing
that would make me happier.

I'll be there
in a second.

- Wow.

Looks like someone missed you.

- She's gotten so big.

She's already lost
her first teeth,

and kevin...

He sounded like a grown man
on the phone.

Finals week at harvard?

I blinked,
and everything changed.

- If it makes you feel any
better, the terrible twos...

Lasted till she was five.

Which was brutal.

- Thank you.

- For what?

- For taking care of my kids.

"'who are you?'
said the caterpillar.

"this was not an encouraging
opening for a conversation.

"alice replied, rather shyly,
'i-I hardly know, sir.

"'just at present,
at least I know who I was

"'when I got up this morning,
but I think

I must have been changed
several times since then.'"

I know how she feels.

Good night, darling girl.

- Wait.

This is for you.

Now we're all here.

Good night.

- Hey.

- Hi.

- Where's allison?

- She's putting jenna down.
- Okay.

- How's zane?

- He'll be okay.

I just--I can't believe
that they're all back.

- Did you tell him?
- I tried.

I just--I couldn't.

- I couldn't tell her either.

- Okay, we can't keep this
a secret, jack.

Everyone knows.
- No. But not tonight.

It's just too much.
Okay?

- Yeah.

So I'm gonna stay
at a friend's.

'cause this is all just
too weird.

- Better get you
some clothes then.

- Sorry.
It was my turn to fold.

- There you go.

- Thanks.

- We'll get through this.

- Yeah.
- Come on, I'll walk you out.

- All right.

- [Gasps]

[door shuts]

- how are you feeling?

- Excellent.
Never better.

- Glad to hear it.

- Yeah, so if you
could just hand me my clothes,

I've got four years
to catch up on.

- Right after we do
some final brain scans.

Andy's orders.

- Yeah, I don't think
that's gonna be necessary.

Brain's feeling pretty good.
- Trust me.

You'll feel even better
once we're done.

Okay, I think
we're all set to go.

- Morning.

I went to check on you
and jenna last night,

but you guys
were both fast asleep.

- Oh, I guess ftl travel
really takes it out of you.

- Yeah.
Yeah, I made coffee.

It's not as good
as s.a.r.a.h.'s,

but I try.

- I see a lot of things
have changed since I left.

- Yeah.

Yeah, it's gonna take some time
to get adjusted.

- I saw you and jo
last night.

- I'm sorry.

You were gone
for four years, allie.

It was jo
who pulled me back.

It was jo who helped me
with the kids.

Jo helped me.
She...

And, um...

It evolved.

- I guess it would make sense
that it was jo.

Are you in love with her?

- Yes.

[knock at door]

- [clears throat]

morning, sheriff.

- Good morning.

- Dr. Blake,
how you feeling?

- I've been better.

- Ah.

I know this must be a very
difficult adjustment for you.

We do have people
to talk to.

I encourage you to use them.

By the way,
has Mr. Donovan contacted you?

- No.

- Well, if he does,
please let me know.

He's having trouble adjusting.

We just want the entire crew

to transition back
as easily as possible.

We don't want
any more incidents.

- Absolutely.

- Good.

Nice talk.

- We got to talk to henry
about zane.

- Why?
- I've seen that look before.

- Good morning, kids.

I brought blueberry muffins,

and they're still warm.

- Doug's favorite.

That was very thoughtful
of you, isaac.

- Thank you.
- To a disturbing degree.

They're probably poisoned.

- Not at all.

This is my apology
for my attitude yesterday.

It was immature
and unprofessional,

and I'm really sorry,
you guys.

I would really like
a fresh start.

What do you say, doug?

- I guess.

- Great.
Well, let's dive right in then.

Come on.

- [Gasps]
ooh.

looks like the crown
of the orc king.

- And this
is just the scale model.

The big one could turn
an entire orc army

into a bunch
of pussycats.

This is an offshoot
of my rss,

my riot suppression system.

- You mean the happy ray
that became an anger ray?

- Well, if a certain
former director of gd

hadn't rushed me,
that wouldn't have happened.

No offense.

But I've been able to work
all the bugs

out of my ass.

- Excuse me?

- A.s.s.
Adrenaline suppression system.

It's for combat situations.

It targets
the neurotransmitter frequencies

in the limbic area
of your enemy's brain,

and it turns aggression

into submission.

People just do as they're told.

- And it really works?

- That's how I got promoted
to head up

the unconventional weapons lab.

Hey, do you guys want
to see the latest

in microwave weapons technology?

We can roast the innards
or a field mouse

from 50 miles up.

- Wait, why would you want
to do that?

- Fargo.

Come here.

Man, am I glad
to see you.

- Yeah, I heard about martha.
Are you--

[softer]
are you okay?

- I'll live.

Something's seriously wrong
here.

- Yeah, tell me about it.

I have to work
with stupid parrish,

and he's actually being nice
to me.

- No, I mean
with everything.

- Andy and his a.i. Crew
are way too amped up

over my well-being.

They won't let me leave.

So I'm bugging out.

- Where are you bugging to?

- To go see jo and carter.

If I were you,
i'd do the same.

- Douglas!

We have a full day together,
buddy.

Chop, chop.

[overlapping chatter]

- s.a.r.a.h. Says,
"we're all in this together,

so let's communicate."

[overlapping chatter]

- Mr. Donovan.

- Mr. Donovan.

- Mr. Donovan.

- Mr. Donovan.

[grunting]

- that's quite enough,
mr. Donovan.

You can all return to your
posts, thank you very much.

- Man, how many of you
are there?

Look, can't we talk
about this?

- I think we're done talking.

- Agreed.

- Ready to get out of here?

- You have no idea.

- When senator wen
put the a.i.s in charge of gd,

there was a huge outcry,
and the majority of people

chose to leave.

- Until they had their redaction
interviews with andy,

when they had a sudden change
of heart.

- You think
they were threatened?

- No, he thinks
they were altered.

[knock at door]

- Dr. Deacon?

Dr. Monroe?
Anybody home?

[knocking at door continues]

- [whispering]
it's andy.

- Jo and zane
are on their way over

right now.
- All right.

They can't find us
all together,

so, the two of you,
don't make a sound.

- Dr. Monroe?

Anybody home?

Hello.

It's andy!

- Henry?

- Don't worry.
Just relax.

Andy, welcome.

- Dr. Deacon.

[exclaims]
dr. Monroe.

I hope
you are settling back in.

- We are just catching up
on some lost time.

- Glad to hear it.

glad
To hear it.

We are looking
for Mr. Donovan.

- Haven't seen him.

- [Chuckles]

well, not surprised.

You could lose an elephant
in this room.

[laughter]

- I told henry
the same thing.

- And I told you,
I have a system.

- Of course you do.

Of course
you do.

Must be a great relief
to have the crew back.

- Oh, you have no idea.

- So...

I'm sure that
you wouldn't do anything

to jeopardize their safe
transition back into eureka,

now would you?

- Absolutely not.

- Well, I won't keep you
any longer.

[laughs]
you two,

have a special day.

Take them.

[yelling]

- [gasps]

- what the hell?

- Oh, no.
Jack! Jack!

- Yeah.
- Jack?

- There's something
on the trapdoor.

[groans]

- are you okay?
- Yeah.

[grunting]

hey.

the andys
took henry and grace.

- You have
to be kidding me.

You two?

- We were waiting
for the right time.

- Well, you failed.

- Whoa, this is intense.

- What the frak happened?

- Carter stole my girlfriend.

- Seriously?

- No.
Well, sort--

Zane, bigger issues!
- He's right.

We have to help
henry and grace.

- Help them what?
- Not get brain-wiped.

The andys have been fixing
people who can't follow orders.

- Do these people seem happy
to an almost creepy degree?

- Yeah.
Big time.

- We may know
what they're using.

- Isaac's ass.

- That seems unlikely.

- His adrenaline
suppression system.

It alters brain frequencies

to make people follow orders.

- I think parrish just got

a hefty dose of it himself.

- Maybe we can give them

a taste of their own medicine.

- How?

- The a.s.s.
Alters brain frequencies,

so--
- so we change the frequency

to something
that's harmless to us

but bad for them. Ooh!
- Yeah.

- If you can stall the andys,
holly and I can take out

the computer firewalls
while zane hacks the system.

- Sure.
- We still need a way

to remotely access
the network

so we can upload the virus.

- If they're still running
diagnostics on the ship,

the onboard computer
must be networked into gd.

That's our ticket in.

All right, we're connected.
Now fargo just needs

to drop the gd firewalls,
and I'm in.

- Okay, is it me or did
that seem a little too easy?

- What, getting in here or
getting over my untimely death?

- Okay, look,

I am sorry
that you found out that way,

and carter didn't steal me
from you.

I needed somebody.

And so did he.

Zane.

I fell in love.

I didn't do anything wrong.

[typing]

- this leads
to s.a.r.a.h.'s mainframe.

It's like a back door
to her brain.

We can drop her firewalls
from here.

- Okay, then.

Let's do this back door.

- Let's hope they buy us
some time.

- Glad you listened
to reason, sheriff.

- I'm not sure I call
brainwashing reason, but okay.

- Human aggression
is your greatest weakness.

We're just protecting you
from yourselves.

- Of course.

- Henry, are you guys okay?
- We've been better.

- All right, we're gonna get you
out of there.

- Your predictable
overconfidence

is rather remarkable,
sheriff.

- It's part
of my girlish charm.

- Andy, can't we be reasonable
here?

- That would require that
we're all being forthcoming.

And honest.

But that isn't what's happening
here, is it?

- There it is,
the access panel.

- Awesome.

- Okay, now we yank
the firewalls,

and zane can hack the system.

- You know, you're kind of sexy
when you're heroic.

- What are you doing, douglas?

- Uh-oh.

- Andy...

I've known you a long time.

And I don't care
what your programming says.

I know that,
deep down inside,

you wouldn't want
to hurt anyone.

- You're right, sheriff.

I want everyone
to be safe.

- Yeah.

- And this is the only way.

[beep and electronic hum]

- firewalls are almost down.

Upload is ready to go.

Now we just watch out
for any of our a.i. Friends.

- Found one.

[rumbling]

- zane.

- The firewalls are still up.

- Okay, what do we do?

- Here, take this.

- What now?

- Now we run.

[electronic beeping]

yeah.

- It's activated!

[mechanisms beeping]

stand clear!
- We're on pursuit now!

- Copy that.
Copy that.

- Stop, douglas.
You're hurting me.

- Almost there.

- Andy, you don't have
to do this to them.

- You're right.

I'm going to do it
to all of you.

[lasers blasting]

- here's andy!

- Oh, god!

He's coming.
Faster.

[overlapping shouts]

[overlapping shouts continue]

[lasers blasting]

- [whimpering]

- okay, hold on.

- [Shrieks]

- hold it!
Hold on!

One more second!

- m*ssile lock.

m*ssile lock!

- It's gonna be close.

Whoo-hoo!

[laughter]

- I can't believe you thought

appealing to my emotion
would work.

- Actually, we didn't.

- Last one.

Got it!
[electronic beeping]

- that's it.
That's it.

Checkmate.

- But the good news is,

you won't hold it
against me.

[beeps and whirs]

- [exclaims]

that was so creepy.

- [Sighs]
it worked.

[laughs]

[sighs]

- as my first official act
as director of gd,

I am reinstating
all astraeus crew members

to their previous posts

and jo lupo
as my head of security.

[applause]

we have our town back!

[cheers and applause]

- um, excuse me, sir,

what about the rest of us?

- Right.
Well, once you've completed

your neuro-recalibration,
we'll talk.

- That sounds super, boss.

- I kind of like isaac better
this way.

- Yeah, me too.

- It's good news,
huh?

- yeah.

yup.
Back to normal.

- Look, zane, I know
that you're upset with me.

But I really, really hope
that we can be friends.

- Yeah, I know you do.

Look, I respect the fact
that you're with carter,

but I can't help but wonder
what might have been.

So friends might
take a while.

- Yeah.

- So what do you want to do?

- We'll figure it out,
you know.

It's gonna be hard
and complicated.

But you and jo are together,

and...

She's in jenna's life now,

and I can't take that
from her.

- I'm really sorry,
allie.

- Me too.

But we're gonna--
We're gonna work this out.

- Uh...

Jo and jenna
are on their way home.

Would you like
to join us for dinner?

- I think
that would be great.

- Thanks.

I'll go get the food started.

- She's crying.

- Because everything
she's experiencing

feels absolutely real to her.

She's emotionally invested
in the reality

she's just helped create.

They all are.

The greatest minds in eureka
are working for us now.

And they don't even know it.
