Hey, Robo! It's Sunday,
you wanna put in for the football pool?

What would I do with the money if I won?

Well, you could give it to Brady and
me, we're not proud.

Gambling is illegal.
- Come on, lighten up, Robo!

They're right, Alex. Kick back a little.
- I am on duty.

Hey, tell me about it.
I'm never off duty.

Talk about get a life.

You know what I really miss? Dancing.

I used to love to dance.

Long-range scope...

the power enhancer...
and the Heartbreaker.

Open the Heartbreaker first.

Silent alarm at 116 North Walnut.

All units in the vicinity of 116
North Walnut, please respond.

Okay, let's open the enhancer.

Freeze!

You are under arrest!

Stop, or I'll sh**t!

Beta-4!
- Beta-4, go.

Suspect coming your way.
- Beta-4 roger.

Please don't hurt me.

All right, hold it right there, buddy!
That's as far as you go!

Put that thing down and
get your hands in the air!

Okay.

Go ahead and shock the
flatline, then let's quit.

Okay, everybody clear!

Officer Alex Murphy sh*t
to death in a line of duty.

Legally he's dead.
We can pretty much do what we want.

There's a new guy in town.
His name's Robocop.

Murphy, it is you.

The break-in apparently
occurred earlier this morning,

and speculation is that one of the thieves
is an employee of Mirsky Microwaves.

Behind me, as you can see,
the owner of the company, Mr. Mirsky,

who has just finished being
questioned by police on the scene.

The question being asked
is why two police officers

d*ed for no apparent reason
after chasing a burglary suspect.

Initial reports, unconfirmed,
suggest probable cardiac arrest.

I'm Martina Marx at the scene.

Your accomplice, Jessup, his name?
- No... I can't.

All right, let's try
something a little simpler.

Now what the hell were you
after, what is this thing?

It's an enhancer,
it boosts the power of a host appliance.

The unit that was taken?
- Yes.

How much?
- Up to a hundred times.

When you say "appliance",
you mean w*apon, don't you? - No.

Then what k*lled my officers?
- I don't know.

I had nothing to do with it!

He is not telling the whole truth.
- I am.

I'm just...
- A cop-k*ller.

You're looking an accessory
to m*rder one, Jessup.

The way I see it you've got one
chance, and that's to cooperate.

I can't...
This whole project is top-secret!

Top-secret, here?
- Yes, through OCP.

Who is the OCP supervisor?

A man named Wilson Eberheart.

No!

Help me, help!

That's right,
we subcontracted with Mirsky Microwave

on a Defense Department
project for a non-lethal maser,

a laser-guided microwave g*n.

It seems microwaves can cause short-term
blackouts, that sort of thing.

It can also cause cardiac arrest.

And you think that's what
happened to those two officers?

And Jessup?
- There's no other explanation, sir.

Ah, here's out VP Special Projects,

Wilson Eberheart.

Eberheart, I was under the
impression our maser w*apon

was a non-lethal stun g*n.

Oh, it is, sir.

Of course any w*apon can
have lethal applications.

Where there's a will, there's a way.

A hand-sized unit that
causes instant heart att*cks?

I've never heard of a more
perfect k*lling machine, sir.

With the enhancer and the long-range
scope it can wipe out armies!

Why wasn't I informed?

Well, the defense department
wanted it that way, sir.

They even classified it, codename "Heartbreaker". They
were afraid that it might fall into the wrong hands.

It has. Two police officers are dead.

And sir, we've found a collection of top-secret
data printouts at late Jessup's apartment.

There is a security breach
in the OCP Metronet system.

What about this... Jessup?
Did you know him?

No, sir.

Not personally,
he was an engineer at Mirsky.

I guess he knew about the Heartbreaker
and decided to cash in on it.

I'd terminate this project right now if Washington
wasn't so sensitive about these things.

They do tend to be vindictive, sir.
- Yes.

So what do we do, Mr. Chairman?
- The only thing we can do.

Recover the Heartbreaker,

make sure the other two components
are separated and secured,

and plug that damn leak!
- Yes, sir.

I told you not to come here!

Is that an order?

No-no, of course not.

Good.

They know the Metronet's been breached.

That fool Jessup, now we are never
gonna get the scope and the enhancer.

We have to,
our client expects it this week.

Look, Brock, this has gone far enough.

Two dead cops, my God!

When you first came to me with
this scheme you told me...

You laughed it up like the
greedy little puppy that you are.

We're not playing with toys
here, Eberheart.

People get hurt.

Well, everything's changed now, Robocop's
on the case. - Robocop is everywhere.

I broke into his Metronet file yesterday.
It's really the most amazing thing.

Who's... who's this man in the picture?
- That's him.

Robocop himself, officer Alex Murphy.

Apparently he was k*lled in action, and they
interfaced his brain stem with a computer.

So inside of this robot...

there's a man.

Well, I guess that would depend
on how much of the man survived.

Well, that's what we should find out.

Had this Murphy have any family?

Yes. Why?

Because if we have to
have Robocop on the case,

we should make sure he's on our side.

One power enhancer.

Well, that thing's secure anyway.

The scope is another story.

Is it still being worked on?
- At the factory, yeah.

I've beefed up security as much as I can
but we're so short of buddies right now.

Especially with Madigan off
at that damned convention.

What about the Metronet breach?
- Charlie's on it, for a probe.

Charlie is running a data probe into Neurobrain?
- Whatever it takes, you heard the chairman.

I hope he's careful.

Wow, that's you? - It's a digitally
constructed simulation of me.

And you're gonna go right
into the computer? - Yes.

But not really, if you know what I mean.

Is it like virtuous reality?

It's much more complex than that,
Gadget, you wouldn't understand.

That's what you always say.
- Now...

Now what?

Charlie Lippencott?
- Have we met?

No. I've...

I've seen you around.

I'm with OCP.
- Security Concepts?

That's it, Security Concepts.

I'm just... you know... in here.

Doing what I'm doing, right? Running a data
probe to find out about the security leak?

Right, the leak.

Found anything?
- No, you?

Well, I'm really just getting started...

Diana.
- Diana. Well...

I can't believe I
haven't seen you before.

I'm new. Quite new. And temporary.
- Well, they must think highly of you.

This Heartbreaker thing is top secret.
- Yes, I know, it's... big.

Isn't it?
- Oh... yeah.

I dunno where to start.
- Well, there's been no security alert...

that I know of. So it's not a hacker.

You might try employee access.
- Oh, good idea.

But, you know,
I don't want to get in your way.

Actually, I have to go.
- Already?

Well, maybe we could meet sometime, you
know... have a coffee, talk about security.

I would love to, but...
- It's all right.

It was just a thought.
- No, I would but...

We can meet back here.
- Yeah?

I'll be around.
- Great! Good.

Jimmy!

Are you studying?
- Yeah, corporate history test.

Okay. I'm going at the store,
I won't be too long. - Okay.

Don't work too hard!

Oh my God!

No! No!

Get away from me, get away! Help!

Did you have to hit her?
- Don't be an idiot.

Beta-1, Beta-1!
Stand by for encrypted message.

Receiving.

Anonymous calling having
information regarding Heartbreaker.

Contact at 6515 North Levin.

Ah, welcome.
Does this face look familiar?

This is your life, Robocop.
Or should I say "Alex Murphy"?

With special guests, Nancy and
Jimmy Murphy, your wife and son.

Such a lovely family, don't you think?

And now, big finish.

Don't worry. She wasn't hurt...
too badly.

As you can see, she's now our guest.
So pretty.

It would be a shame to
destroy such beauty.

Well, show's over, Alex.
You want to see her alive,

you want the components
for the Heartbreaker.

It's not worth a cent to our clients without
the power enhancer and the long-range scope.

Bring them both to this
room by 8 o'clock tonight.

And if you don't,
you'll never see her again.

Oh, and by the way: if you tell
anyone, we will find out about it.

We found out about you, right?

So, there is a man in the machine.

Our man.

We found out about you, right?

We found out about you, right?

We found out about you, right?

Jimmy!

Never open a door to a stranger
when you are home alone.

How did you know I was...

Where's my mom?
- She's going to be late.

Late from what?
She went to the store hours ago.

I will take you to a friend's house. - No,
I want to stay here and wait for her.

It will help her if you come with
me, Jimmy.

What happened to her?

She will be home.

I promise you.

Who are you? What do you want with me?

Why don't you say something?

You know, you really should
try to get some sleep.

Look, whoever you are, this has
got to be some sort of a mistake.

If it's money you're
after, I don't have any!

Of course you don't.

Well then, why are you doing this?

Well... let's just say I
like having a woman around.

Bastard!

Yes, five gains in a row!
- You're just lucky, Gadget.

If I was really trying, I'd b*at you
every time. - In your dreams, pal.

I smoked you.

Robo! That's Robocop.

We're buddies. Hey, Robo!

Robo, I b*at Tommy five times straight!

Don't go away.

Robo, any progress on
the Heartbreaker case?

I cannot talk now.
Somewhere there is a crime happening.

Charlie, I think a crime just happened.

But we've got to tell Sarge,
Charlie, Robo's in trouble!

We don't know that, he might have
a good reason to take the enhancer.

Then why was he sneaking around?
- Give me a minute, maybe I can find out.

I think you're just doing
it 'cause you like it.

Don't be ridiculous.

Diana?
- Hi!

What's new?

What was the question?

Is something wrong?
- No, you're perfect.

I mean, it's Robocop, that's it.

Do you know Robocop?
- Are you kidding?

Who doesn't?
- Well, he did something strange.

He took part of a Heartbreaker
unit out of the evidence locker.

He must've had authorization.
- That's what I thought but...

You work at Security Concepts,
could you... find out?

No.

No, you can't?
- No, he didn't.

But how did you...
- I have photographic memory.

I... remembered it.

You sure he didn't?
- Yeah.

But how could he do something illegal?
He's programed.

Isn't he?
- Yes.

You know, I helped set up the program.

So what's going on?

Robocop, they want you to put
the things in the briefcase.

You have the power enhancer, that's good.

What's with the long-range scope? Huh?

I had no access to it.

You were told to bring both components.

Have the scope here by
midnight, or she dies.

Do you hear that, robot? She dies.

Guess who I ran into
strolling through Neurobrain!

Charlie Lippencott.

He saw you? - Uh-huh. And
he seemed kind of impressed.

He's worried about you.
I'm worried about you.

I cannot involve you.
- Didn't you hear what I just said?

I am involved.

It's Nancy, isn't it?

I checked her house. She's not there.

And Jimmy spent the night with a friend.

He left a note.
Do you want to talk about it?

Okay, I'll talk about it.

Whoever it was that accessed
the Heartbreaker file

might just have done some discreet
window-shopping in another top-secret file,

namely Alex Murphy's, result:

blackmail. Am I warm?

I must deal with this myself.
- Forget it!

Beta-1, come in! Beta-1, code 1.

I repeat: Beta-1, code 1. Come in.
Robocop, please respond.

Robocop, come in.
- It's started, Alex.

It's all coming down.

Robocop, please respond.

Robocop...
- Hand me that.

Robo, this is Parks, report to
the station, code 2. Do you copy?

Robo, I know you're there,
we're tracking you. Now answer me.

I'm sorry, sergeant Parks.

I cannot comply with your orders
at this time. - What did you say?

Allow me.

Where'd he go?
- He's offline.

All right, that's it.
All units, this is sergeant Parks.

I want an APB on Robocop.

If encountered, use extreme caution.

He should be considered
armed and dangerous.

There he is!
- I'm on him.

Beta-6 to dispatch,
we spotted Beta-1 and are in pursuit.

Robocop is headed north on the 1500
block of Huber road. - Trouble.

Roger, Beta-6. All units...
- Time to disappear.

Are you kidding? Let's rock and roll!

All available units, respond.

I hope you're not hiding behind the door.

Cause it could be... painful!

Like I was saying, dear...

This is a very stupid move, Mrs. Murphy.

Because now you've seen our faces.

And unfortunately, you forced my hand.

What's going on here?
- Move away from her.

What are you gonna do, k*ll her?
We are finished here, Conrad.

OCP is running a data probe into
Metronet, my files have been frozen.

They're on to us now, we...
We've got to get out of here now!

Move away from her!

Now!

That's better.

I don't want to endanger a
life of an innocent bystander.

Do I?

We found out about you, right?
We found out about you, right?

I don't recognize that voice.
I'll look for a match.

He does not work at Security Concepts.

I have checked.

Chances are he made phone contact
though, and if he did,

we'll have our Metronet leak.

Spread out.

Don't come any closer, Robo,
we've got orders to stop you!

I'll say it again: you
can't come in here!

Please!

Okay, you've been warned!

You are brave men.
There is no need to prove it.

Dispatch, Robocop's here.
He's going after the long-range scope.

Request assistance. Lots of it.

It's showtime!

Heavy firepower, lock and load!
Move! He won't get past us!

There he is! He's coming!
Hold your positions!

Hold it right there, Robo,
we have direct orders to stop you!

Prepare to fire!

Hold your fire!

I'll handle this.

You heard the man, hold your fire!

I know you got your reasons for this,
Murphy. But I've got to stop you.

I have a job to do, sergeant.

I will surrender when it is done.

With or without that thing?
- I cannot say.

That is the truth.
- Sergeant Parks, come in, sergeant!

Not now!

What the hell is going on with
you, Murphy? - Trust me, sergeant.

How can I do that? It's gone too far.

Sergeant, it's Charlie, come in, please!
- I said not now!

Trust me until midnight.

That is less than 30 minutes away.

What happens then?

I don't know why the hell
I brought this thing.

Okay, Murphy, you've got your 30 minutes.

But you remember this:
no one's above the law.

Not even you.

Thank you.

Clear the vehicles! Let him through!

Sergeant Parks, are you there?

Damn it, what is it? - I know who
has Robocop to steal the components!

What'd you say?
- He... his name is Conrad Brock,

he's an arms dealer at 96 Heliotrop road.

Now, he's holding the widow of officer
Alex Murphy as a kind of hostage

in return for the Heartbreaker components.
Now that's why Robo's acting like he is.

How do you know all this?

A friend of mine at the Security
Concepts ran the v-phone trace.

Good work, Charlie, thanks.
Let's move out!

Change of plans, Alex. You can forget
delivering that thing to the warehouse.

What do you mean?
- I found Nancy.

That's good. Now your hero should
be arriving at the warehouse

any second now, and then all
your questions can be answered.

He's running late.

Get away from that woman!

"That woman"? Robot? Oh, come on.

Surely she must mean a
little more to you than that.

For instance...

now... you'd do anything to
save her life, wouldn't you?

If you harm her...
- I won't.

If you cooperate.

Now you can start by putting
down that scope that you so...

thoughtfully brought along.

You'd better do it.

You see, this is a
power-enhanced Heartbreaker.

At this range a heart
att*ck would be merciful.

It'll boil her brain.
- Don't do it, Robocop!

Don't give in to him! - Oh, she's a feisty
little thing, isn't she? I must tell you...

she has been the most
amusing house guest.

You dirtbag!

Such language right in
front of your... your...

your... What should I call him?

You showed great courage.

I don't understand.

He kept hinting that you
and I are somehow connected.

You were the wife of a police
officer at Metro South.

We are all...

family.

Thank you for everything.

My pleasure, ma'am.

Robocop! Everyone okay?

Where's Brock?

He could not take the heat.

Empty!
- The scope never left the factory.

Williams!
- Sir?

I want you to take Mrs.
Murphy's statement. - Yes, sir.

Taylor!
- Sarge?

Secure this place until
forensics gets here. - Yes, sir.

Ma'am, will you come with me, please?
We need to ask you a few questions.

Why didn't you let me in on this, Murphy?

I would've understood.

Yes. I know.

But I couldn't take that
chance, sergeant.

Nah, I guess you couldn't.

I'll see that she gets home alright.

Hey Alex,
how did you like those cartoons?

Your diversion was perfectly timed.

I had to do something.

Now maybe you can help
me with my problem.

Charlie?
- What am I gonna tell him?

He's practically... you know...

Yes. I know.

Let him down easy.

There you are.

Diana!

So, the Metronet leak has been sealed up.

Yup, case closed.

You know what that means?
- Yeah...

What?

I'm being transferred.
- Where?

Can't say, top secret.
- But you can't!

I mean, we... oh, we've just met!

I know. I'm sad too.

What can we do, Charlie? We're
professionals, we go where we're needed.

I need you here.
I mean, not right here... but...

You know what I mean.

Listen, when I'm settled, wherever it is,

I'll get in touch with you.

Somehow.

Promise?

Promise.

Well...

Tell me something, Charlie.

Do you dance?
- Dance?

Hey, Charlie!

Not again.

This time he's really done it.

You are great, Charlie Lippencott.

Ballroom dance class, age 12.
Mother insisted.

See what I mean?
Something's wrong with Charlie.

No.

He is happy.

Happy? How come?

Someday I will explain it to you.
