Xavier: Today we're going
to meet an amazing musician

Brad: I'm okay.

Xavier: Ahem.

An amazing musician named
Johann Sebastian Bach.

Yadina: That's Bach
right there.

Xavier: (whispers)
That's your cue.

Brad/Yadina: Oof!
(laughing)

Xavier: Maybe we'll
just start the show...

School concert time.

Xavier: And everyone loved it.

Brad: Um, you did

Xavier: Not as

Yadina: Twinkle Twinkle
Little Star is right.

Yadina: You must practice...

Little Girl: I play
a little every day.

Xavier: Really?

Wow. You're not,
uh, planning to- ?



Brad: Sign up for the concert?

She just did.

Xavier: Okay, this is a problem.

Yadina: To the secret museum!

Brad: To the Secret Museum.

Yay.

Xavier: I have to figure out
how to get a lot better

on my recorder- fast.

The concert's in two weeks.

Brad: But, you know time
travel makes me dizzy.

Xavier: You guys ready?

Xavier: I wonder who the Secret
Museum will send us to meet?

Yadina: And where we'll go.

Brad: And-
(gasps)

Brad: Woo.

Guys, wait up!

Yadina: Lookout below.

Xavier: Woo-hoo!

Xavier: Hi, Berby.

Berby: (buzzes)

musical notes on it?

called sheet music.

Whoever we're meeting
must be a musician.

Xavier: There he is.

Bach" Nice hair.

Brad: Look. We're
meeting him in Germany.

Yadina: Way back
in the year .

Xavier: I hope Bach
can show me how

to get better on the recorder.

Yadina: There's only
one way to find out...

Xavier: Ready to
go back in time?

Yadina: You mean "Bach" in time?

Get it?

Because his name is Bach.

Bach!

(sighs) I'm ready.

Brad: Uh, I guess I'm ready?

Berby: (computing sounds)

Yadina: Here we go!

Brad: It's happening.

Yadina: Hang on, Dr. Zoom.

Brad: Like I said...

Time travel... dizzy.

Yadina: Listen...

Dad Bach: Eins, zwei, drei,

Xavier: I don't know what
he's saying, but it's catchy.

Yadina: We're in Germany.

Dad Bach: Eins, zwei,

Brad: There's Johann
Sebastian Bach.

That's who we're here to meet.

Yadina: Hi, there.
Nice violin playing.

Xavier: Yeah.

Ever think of adding high
kicks to your routine?

Bach: Um... no.

But I am writing my own song.

Would you like to hear it?

Brad: Yes please.
Yadina: Would we ever.

Kids: (gasps)

Xavier: Woah.

Bach: Thank you.

And with more work,
I'll get even better.

Xavier: That's like me-

I want to get better
at the recorder.

Can you please teach me how?

Bach: Well, if you want
to get better at something,

you have to work
hard and practice.

I'm going to practice right now.

Xavier: We'd love to.

Bach: Then follow me. Quickly.

Yadina: Hey- who
turned out the lights?

Xavier: There aren't any.

Amazing fact: electric
lights weren't invented yet.

(loud pipe organ music)

Brad: Ah!

Bach: Sorry- this
pipe organ is loud.

Bach: (laughter)
Brad: (phew)

Xavier: Whoa--that
is a lot of music.

Xavier: What? You wrote
all this out by hand?

That would have
taken a long time.

Yadina: And made your hand
really, really, really sore.

Bach: True. But you want
to get better at something,

you have to work
hard and practice.

(complex pipe organ melody)

Xavier: Woah.

Your song sounds even
better than last time.

(offkey note)


Yadina: Well, it sounded great.

Before that happened.

Bach: I'm sure I
hit the right key.

The pipes must need cleaning.

Yadina: He went in the organ.

Should we?
Brad: No!

Xavier: Of course!

Xavier: Whoa. Organ
insides are cool.

Bach: The sound comes from
air going through the pipes.

Listen.



Bach: That's it.

Yadina: This thing's like
a big box of whistles.

Xavier: This was fun but,

how does it make
you better at music?

I really want to rock
my school concert.

Bach: Learning how an instrument
works helps me play it better.

Wait. Concert? Concert!

I have to leave now
or I'll miss it!

Brad: Still in here!

I'll just meet you out front.

Yadina: So, where
exactly are we going?

Bach: To see some
incredible musicians play.

Brad: Oh, um, cool.

Yadina: Can we take a bus?

We've been walking for
like a million hours.

Bach: I love
listening to others play

because I can learn from them.

And, it makes me
want to get better.

Xavier: Like when I
heard that girl playing

Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.

I wanted to get better, too.

Bach: The music
has inspired me...

Wait-- we're leaving?
Already?

Bach: I must go and
work on my song!

Yadina: You're telling me
we walked all this way

and we're not going IN?

Yadina: Yeah, I know, Dr. Zoom.

Xavier: The song he's writing
must be really important to him.

I wonder how it will turn out?

Brad: Maybe
we'll find out.

Berby wants to send
us forward in time.

Yadina: Yes!

Thank you, Secret Museum.

Yadina: Hey- that sounds
like Bach's song.

Brad: There he is!

So many people came
to hear him play.

(complex harpsichord playing)

Xavier: Bach is amazing!

His song sounds so much better
than the first time we heard it.

Brad: Or the second--or third.

(nervous laugh)

♪♪

(applause)
(cheering)

Xavier: Amazing!
Yadina: Bravo! Bravo!

(cheering)

Xavier: How did Bach
get so much better?

All I saw him do
was write music,

learn how his organ works,

walk forever to see a concert,

practice the same song

over and over and--
(gasps)

Xavier: Double woah.

If you want to get
better at something,

you have to work
hard and practice.

Berby? Let's go home!

Yadina: Bye. We're
heading 'Bach' home.

Berby: Yippie!

Xavier: Yadina. Brad.

I've got to get ready
for the school concert.

Xavier: As Bach said, if you
want to get better at something,

hard and practice.

(singing to himself)

Yadina: Xavier. Come on.
The concert is starting.

Xavier: (deep exhale)

Yadina: Woo hoo, Xavier!

That's my brother!

Xavier: Now that's the
response I was hoping for.

Xavier: Wasn't Bach the best?

Yadina: I miss that
little guy already.

Xavier: He never stopped
trying to get better.

Yadina: And he wrote
a ton of songs.

Brad: Many that are
still played today.

Over years later.

Xavier: Thanks for joining
our awesome adventure

to meet real-life composer,

Johann Sebastian Bach.

Yadina: Who used to be a
kid, just like you and me.

So, kids like you
can change the world.

Brad: I'm Brad.

Yadina: I am Yadina.

Xavier: And, I'm Xavier.

And I'll never stop working hard
and practicing to get better.

Berby: (electronic
buzzing and whirring)

You think Berby must be gone?

Oh, where could Berby be?

Berby: (giggling)

I think I know Eggs-actly
where Berby is.

Get it? Eggsactly!

Berby: (laughing)
Yadina: Gotcha Berby!

Nice idea hiding in that
giant Pterodactyl nest.

Berby: (laughing)

Yadina: I like playing
with you too Berby.

Yadina: Hi, there!

Xavier: Woo hoo!

Brad: Woah! Oof!

Xavier: Um, Brad?

Brad: Ahem. Hello.

(laughing)

Today we're meeting
someone very exciting.

Real life scientist,
Marie Curie.

Yadina: That's her. She
was born in the year ,

in a country called Poland.

Brad: There are lots of
different kinds of scientists,

but Marie is known
for being a chemist.

Brad: Woah!
Yadina: Wow!

Brad: Wuh! Uh oh.

Eek! Ah!

Xavier: Chemists are
people who figure out

what stuff is made of.

Yadina: Like why
are clouds so puffy,

Pfffff!

or how does water turn into ice?

Start the show,
start the show. Whaaah!

Brad: (sigh)
I love butterflies.

Yadina:
They're very fluttery.

Xavier: Totally.

Brad: They start out

as just fuzzy little
caterpillars,

then they grow wings, and fly.

Brad: I can't wait to
join the butterfly club

so I can learn all about them.

(nervous laugh)

Brad: (gasps)
They're here.

Excuse me, is the
butterfly club starting?

Club Leader:
Yes. Just inside.

Brad: Cool. Um,

what does that
"ten plus" mean?

Club Leader:
Oh, you have to be at least

ten years old to join the club.

Brad: (gasps) But I'm
not years old yet.

Club Leader:
Oh, sorry.

But, you can visit the butterfly
garden when we're done.

Brad: But, I want
to join the club

so I can learn more
about butterflies.

What am I going to do?

Xavier: I don't know, but,

I do know how to find out.

Brad: Um...

Yes. Let's do it!

Yadina: To the Secret Museum!

Brad: Don't worry.

I'm coming back for
you, butterflies.

Xavier!

Yadina! Wait up!

(playful music)


Xavier: I wonder who the Secret
Museum will send us to meet?

Wahooo!

Yadina: Or how far back
in time we'll GOOOO...!

Brad: I'm going to
find some stairs...woah!

Xavier: Woo-hoo.
Yadina: Look out below.

Xavier/Yadina: Hi, Berby.

Berby: Hello.
Brad: Hi, Berby!

Brad: Oof!

Xavier: (humming)
Berby: Woooo!

We're getting something.

Yadina: What is it?

Brad: I think it's a test tube.

Yadina: Like for potions?

Xavier: Maybe it's a wizard's
potion to make you older!

Yadina: Or turn you
into a butterfly!

Brad: It says here it
belonged to Marie Curie.

That's who we're meeting.

Xavier: Hm. She doesn't
look like a wizard.

But, I've never met
a wizard before,

so maybe she does.

Yadina: Hey, look. We're
going to Poland to meet her.

Brad: That's over
a hundred years ago!

I wonder how Marie Curie

can get me into
the butterfly club?

Xavier: I'm still
thinking wizardly magic.

But, only one way to find out.

Ready for an adventure?

Yadina: Ready.

Brad: (deep breath)

Yadina: Here we go!

Brad: (gasp)
She is a wizard!

Yadina: Xavier, we're in Poland.

Xavier: Oh. Right.

Marie: Curie Przepraszam...
Sorry, again.

I'm just excited
to get to school.

We're doing math and science
today - which I love.

So I want to learn all I can.

Brad: That's how I feel
about butterflies.

Did you know there are over
, different types?

Marie Curie: So you're
a butterfly scientist?

I want to be a scientist, too.

Someday I want to
discover something

no one has ever found before!

Brad: How do you do that?

Marie Curie: Follow me.
I'll show you.

Marie Curie: This
is a University.

A big school for older kids.

Someday, I'll go here

to learn more about science.

Marie Curie: That is
the chemistry lab.

Yadina: Wow.

Brad: Think they might
have a butterfly club?

Marie Curie: I don't
know. Let's find out.

Marie Curie: Hello.
Do you know where the

university science rooms are?

Or the butterfly club?

Older Girl:
Me? No.

The university is
for boys only.

Kids: (gasp!)

Boys only?

That's not fair!

Marie Curie: But, I need
to go to the University

to become a scientist.

It's my dream.

Xavier: Not-so-cool fact:

doesn't get to follow her dream

of going to university,

just like I don't get
to follow my dream

of being in the butterfly club.

I will follow my dream

no matter what!

I just don't know how yet.

Older Girl: I know a
place for girls like us.

Marie Curie:
(gasps) You do?

Older Girl: Come on!

Older Girl: Welcome to
The Flying University.

Yadina: Woah.
Brad: A flying university?

Do they teach you how to fly?

Or maybe the whole house flies?

Or maybe...

(dreamy sigh)

it's a school for butterflies.

Older Girl: Oh,
it's even better.

(giggles)

Older Girl: Since
regular universities

do not allow girls,

we made our own!

Marie: (gasps)
Oh!

Marie Curie: Look
at all the books...

the equipment...

the math equations.

Yadina: Aw, she's so happy.

Xavier: Yeah. She sure is.

Brad: I wonder if Marie will
get to follow her dream

of discovering something new?

Yadina: Looks like we're
about to find out.

Berby: Yippie!

Xavier: Whoa.
Brad: Phew! Where are we?

Yadina: Looks like a
fan-cy science lab.

Brad: Do you think
Marie Curie is here?

Xavier: Let's spread
out and look.

Xavier: Marie Curie?
Are you in here?

Brad: Hello? Marie?

Yadina: Oh Cuuuurie.

Yooo hoooo.

Yadina: Dr. Zoom, now isn't
the time to play scientist.

(squeak)

Curie: Brad, Xavier,
Yadina - over here!

Brad: Marie. This lab is great!

Marie Curie: Here? No.

I made my own lab.

I'll show you.

Brad: Okay. Let's go.

We'd love to see it.

Yadina: You made your own lab?

After I finished school,

I wanted to keep
studying science.

I built this lab myself.

Xavier: Cool.
Brad: Wow.

the science experiments I want.

And keep on learning.

something I've been working on

a long time.

I'm hoping to discover
something brand new.

(giggles)

me a better idea!

that glowing green stuff.

star in this outfit.

Butterfly Club Leader: Hey,

Brad: Oh hi, this is the, um...

Junior Butterfly club.

and her very own lab,

was really great.

let anything stop her

from doing amazing things.

Yadina: Like winning the biggest

The Nobel Prize.

Xavier: Twice.

For two totally different
types of science.

She was the first
person ever to do that.

Yadina: Wow.
