One of my favorite things to do at the seashore

is to collect seashells.

Seashells come in many different shapes, sizes, and colors.

Some are long and look like ice cream cones,

while others are round and look like coins.

Those shells are called sand dollars.

But don't try to spend them anywhere.

Some ocean animals actually live inside of seashells.

Like these crafty crustaceans-- hermit crabs.

Hermit crabs have really soft bodies,

so they live in shells to protect themselves.

When hermit crabs get too big for their shells,

they move into new ones.

There are so many different types of seashells.
