[Moose] Noggin presents "Mighty Fine Art."

Welcome to the art museum.

Let's take a stroll.

I'd like to show you one of my favorite masterpieces.

I like to call them "moosterpieces."

Today's "moosterpiece" is a painting by an artist

named Georges Seurat.

It's called "Le Crotoy Looking Upstream."

What do you see?

[girl] Boats!

[boy] Clouds!

The beach!Houses!

Exactly! Excellent eyes!

But there's something very special

about this painting.

Let's look a little closer.

Wow! Would you look at that?

It's made out of lots and lots of dots!

Dots of paint that is.

The painter, Georges Seurat,

created this terrific type of painting.

It's called pointillism.

Pointillism is painting using only dots.

Can you say pointillism?

[kids] Pointillism!

Up close, you see delightful dots,

but when you move back, you can see

that the dots form shapes in the painting,

like that beautiful boat.

Do you think you could paint a picture

using only dots?

[kids] Yes!

Then you too can be a pointillist painter pronto!

I can't wait to see what you make!

Zee! Positivity perfect pointillism!

Thanks for joining us at the museum.

[ting ting]I love looking at art with you, too, Zee.
