(Wind whistles)

(Soldiers shout)

.. I've got planes ready to go to send in another 40 guys, and you tell me you've got 40 guys ready?!

You've got another plan that's gonna work this time?!

Because the last one was a royal f*ck up!

We're gonna do a job.

I'll be damned if I'm gonna let somebody screw this up again!

Do you understand?! This is ridiculous!

You gotta be shittin' me!

(Door slams)

What's going on?

Apparently, the Americans have been planning to b*mb the factory for the last year.

Can't be bombed. The building is too solid.

There's seven floors of armed concrete...

They'll never get to the source.

The whole thing's a disaster, it couldn't be worse.

What about Grouse?

Await orders. We'll send another team.

My men are not prepared for winter. They don't have enough food...

I am currently informing 41 families that they won't see their boys again.

And you're concerned about what? Four Norwegian commandos.

Can't they sh**t?!

Can't they live off the land?!

You told me yourself how well prepared they are.

So that shouldn't be a problem, should it?

(Door slams)

(They laugh)

(Door closes)

(Alarm wails)

Forget it! We'll b*mb it.

I have 100 planes that are ready to go.

The factory... has seven floors made of armed concrete.

Yeah, so you keep saying.

You sure you're not just worried about local casualties?

I built this factory.

We need someone to get the expl*sives into the basement.

That's why it has to be a small group.

A group of five people who know the area.

Dropped above the mountain, heavily supervised, with only the heavy water plant as their target.

OK. Get the group.

In a month. One month.

Or so help me, I'll go in and I will level the whole valley.

Number four.

How old is he?

23.

23?

He's mature for his age.

Competent?

The best.

He came over here two years ago, quickly got in the system.

Linge, SOE, last year as an instructor, Glenmore and Forest Lodge and he's got a special love for everything that has to do with expl*sives and maps.

Well, that works.

What's his name?

Ronneberg.

Well, he's a handsome chap. I'll give him that.

Don't worry, Tronstad -- he's not as handsome as you.
(Wind whistles)

(He breathes hard)

(Breathes hard)

Gentlemen, sit.

Sorry I'm late, sir.

Right, some of you already know why you're here.

Operation Gunnerside.

Southern Norway.

The target is the heavy water plant at Rjukan.

From now on, whatever you do, you will do as a group.

A unit. A team.

No solo efforts. No individual heroics.

We only care about what you manage to do as a team.

So if anybody has a problem with that, please do let me know.

(Wind whistles)

(He chuckles)

Ah!

(They chuckle)

(Speech fades)

(Alarm wails)

All right, gentlemen, turn off the lights and get ready!

Four, five, six, seven... nine.

Is he here yet?

No, not yet.

(He speaks Norwegian)

Can we put our parachutes on?

Let's wait.

What's that?

Wire cutters.

Well, I know that. What's it doing in there?

I just thought that...

Too heavy. Get rid of it.

Yes, Captain.

Sir!

Heavy snow along the coast.

All right, let's postpone.

Merry Christmas.

Music: O Come, All Ye Faithful

(Music continues)

Are you not coming?

You can't plan a new mission with a hangover.

Well, we're not going to plan a new mission tomorrow, for Christ's sake -- it's Christmas and that's blasphemy.

Or do Norwegians not celebrate Christmas?

Yes, we do.

(Ornament chimes)

I should be with my family.

Mm-hmm.

I should be with my husband.

I need a drink.
