GHOST: Previously on Power Despite still grieving Raina's tragic death, her parents, James and Tasha St.

Patrick, are here with us.

You ambushed us to go on camera.

That was f*cking low, Rashad.

Blanca Rodriguez.

I'm working the Detective Raymond Jones case.

I saw you leaving Jones' flop last night.

It wasn't a Jimenez hitter that m*rder*d Celeste and left the gold g*n at the Toros pad.

It was Diego Jimenez himself.

ALICIA: [SPEAKING SPANISH]

Yo, Dre want that Toro dead.

[g*n FIRES]

Why you trippin'?

You're not getting the g*dd*mn point.

When I tell you to do something, you do the sh*t my way.

Broc?

Yo, what the f*ck, man?

Can I trust you to do what needs to be done here?

[g*nshots]

Thomas Patrick Teresi.

He gave me his name?

KATE: He wanted to take you from me, Tommy.

But you're mine.

Stay the f*ck away from me, Ma.

Connie, you listen to me.

You've given me everything that any man could ever want.

DALE: Sometimes I follow Jeff, the guy who k*lled our son, to Gavin's liquor on 23rd.

It is only a matter of time before he kills another kid.

[GRUNTS]

JOE: They say this is a big, rich town I just come from the poorest part Bright lights, city life I gotta make it, this is where it goes down I just happen to come up hard Legal or illegal, baby, I gotta make it 50 CENT: I never took a straight path nowhere Life's full of twists and turns, bumps and bruises I live, I learn I'm from that city full of yellow cabs and skyscrapers It's hard to get a start in these parts without paper Homey, I grew up in hell, a block away from heaven That corner every 15 minutes, they moving seven Pure snow, bag it, then watch it go Occupational options, get some blow or some hos sh**t the ball or the strap, learn to rap or to jack f*ck it, man, in the meantime Go head and pump a pack This my regal, royal flow, my James Bond bounce That 007, that's 62 on my count I'm an undercover liar, I lie under the covers Look a bitch in the eyes and tell her, baby, I love ya You're my inspiration, you're my motivation You're the reason that I'm moving with no hesitation JOE: They say this is a big, rich town Yeah, I just come from the poorest part Bright lights, city life I gotta make it, this is where it goes down Oh, yeah, yeah I just happen to come up hard Legal or illegal, baby, I gotta make it [SIRENS BLARING]

[OMINOUS MUSIC]

[TELEPHONE RINGS]

[RINGING]

Hello.

DOORMAN: Good morning, Mr.

St.

Patrick.

This is the front desk.

There's an NYPD detective here to see you.

Send him up.

DOORMAN: Yes, sir.

[BEEP]

Who was that on the phone?

The police.

Do you know what it's about?

GHOST: No idea, Tash.

[ELEVATOR DINGS]

Detective Leary.

- Morning.

- Good morning.

Ha-Has something happened?

Setting up the public tip line was the right move.

I was kind of hoping I could talk to, uh, Tariq.

Sure, yeah, um Tariq, would you come down here, please?

He's just getting ready for school.

LEARY: Yeah.

Tariq, you remember Detective Leary?

- How you doing, son?

- I'm good.

We've had a tip in your sister's case.

Now, the night Raina was k*lled, someone said they saw you running out of the building, and your sister followed you.

Now, that's different from your statement where you said you went out after your sister.

I was just hoping you could clear that up for me.

[EXHALES]

Go ahead, he's here to help us.

Well, I mean, I guess I did go outside, but I came back in.

Maybe whoever saw me go out didn't see me come back in.

Can you tell me why you went outside the first time?

I I really don't remember.

You know, we have to get ready to go, Detective.

So if that's all?

Yeah, for now.

Tariq, don't worry.

We're gonna solve this.

I'll see him out.

Have a good day, son.

- Bye, Tash.

- Bye.

[ELEVATOR DINGS]

Good-bye, Detective.

You hang in there.

'Riq, I need you to tell me the truth.

Were you out there when Ray Ray k*lled Raina?

I promise I wasn't out there, I swear.

All right.

All right.

Go ahead.

[SIGHS]

[UPBEAT HIP-HOP MUSIC]

Yo, K, let me ask you something.

Did 'Riq tell you how he knew Ray Ray was looking for him?

You know, when he hit you.

Nah, he just said he was looking for him.

Damn.

And he ain't hit you since?

I ain't supposed to be talking to the little n*gga, remember?

Yo, what's up with all these questions?

Cop came by this morning.

Oh, yeah?

Yeah, we got tricked into doing a press conference about Raina's m*rder.

- I got a question for you.

- GHOST: Yeah.

Why you can't stay off the f*cking TV?

I mean, you do understand the concept of being a criminal, right, Ghost?

Come on, Tommy, I'm just trying to build something for my daughter, man.

Something to honor her.

Okay.

What about the situation?

It's under control?

Yeah.

Body's gone.

g*n's gone.

It's done.

[BALLS CLACK]

Good, it's done.

I'm investigating the death of a Detective Raymond Jones.

I discovered he accessed Tariq St.

Patrick's witness statement regarding his sister's death.

I didn't know Detective Jones accessed my case, but he has come up in my investigation.

How's that?

Apparently, Detective Jones visited Tariq St.

Patrick in school.

But the kid cut school that day, so he talked to his sister instead.

So my dead cop talked to your dead girl days before they were both k*lled?

The headmistress also told me that a federal prosecutor by the name of Angela Valdes came by the school the day after the girl was sh*t, asking about Jones.

Why would a fed be interested in this case?

I don't know.

But I'll find out.

[SUSPENSEFUL MUSIC]

This is Diego Jimenez.

We're not sure who the woman is.

NYPD thought that because they were carrying a child, they were residents in the building.

Turns out they stole the baby from the crime scene.

Now, between the surveillance footage, the match of the gold g*n to the m*rder, plus the Jimenez calling card Angela, wait a minute We have a rock-solid arrest warrant.

I can convict Diego within six months.

You're moving too fast.

The Jimenez were Lobos' only rival, and their organization has become massive without him.

Taking out just one of the brothers won't do anything to slow their momentum.

- This is a bird in the hand.

- I get it.

You have a history to rewrite.

Don't fumble on the first play.

I have another meeting.

We'll reconvene on this later.

Tameika, arresting the Jimenez should be this office's top priority.

k*lling the Jimenez should be our top priority.

- No, I'd rather sh**t Dre in his face.

- [SOFT LAUGH]

We can't just keep following Dre around and expect him not to catch on.

I got a better idea.

You know his n*gga, 2-Bit?

- Yeah.

- No.

KANAN: Him and Dre beefing.

Got into a little scrap the other day.

How you know, K?

I been watching Dre moves.

[HIP-HOP MUSIC]

I thought we were supposed to be working together on this.

I'm sharing with the g*dd*mn class, ain't I?

I think I can turn that 2-Bit m*therf*cker.

At least get him to tell me when Dre gonna meet with the Jimenez.

Unless Dre already told him what's up.

And he sh**t you in the face and gets a g*dd*mn attaboy from Dre.

Ain't no small-time m*therf*cker like that - gonna get the drop on me.

- [CHUCKLES]

KANAN: You forget who you talking to.

- TOMMY: Okay.

- I'm good.

All right.

K, you let me know when you know, a'ight?

- A'ight.

- I gotta wrap.

Yo, no, Ghost, hold up.

- Let me holler at you.

- What up?

I gotta clean my money for Jason.

I was wondering if we could go back to do it like we did in the old days, just for a little while.

I could run that money through the club?

Tommy, that's no bueno, man.

- But - I gotta stay squeaky clean.

GHOST: I can't be involved in no sh*t like that.

- Tommy, come on.

- But, like I gotta go meet with an investor about Raina's building.

We'll rap later.

Hey, lay in.

A'ight.

- Thanks for the food.

- Yeah, peace.

- Later, K.

- All right.

[DOOR OPENS]

You know, after Dre dead, he ain't got no skin in the game.

Tell me something I don't know.

Then let me in on that product.

I'll help you move it fast so you can pay Jason.

Take some weight off your hand today.

I'm doing all right selling through the Italians.

What, you think I ain't?

No offense, K, but if I do bring you in on this, you gonna have to pay up front, just like everybody else.

[HIP-HOP MUSIC]

MAN: Make sure the flowers is covering all that yay'.

Careful with them thorns, bro, you're gonna open up one of them packs, man.

Yo, pass me a light, bro.

What's up?

MAN: Come on, man, let's hurry up.

Let's get this done.

You see me working.

[INDISTINCT CHATTER IN SPANISH]

[SPANISH CHATTER CONTINUES]

Tú todo lo que tienes es tiempo.

Yo, what the f*ck are they saying, man?

Diego.

Hey, man, you didn't tell me you was gonna be here.

You should know by now, I don't like to announce myself.

PONCHO: What's up, Dre?

Why you brought us all here together, man?

Well, I gathered you here because when there's change I need things to be crystal f*cking clear.

A'ight, if you didn't know, that's Arturo.

DRE: He got revenge for his cousin Uriel's death, man.

Uriel was a good man.

He was a good soldier.

Arturo's one of us now.

You mean little man took out Lorenzo all by himself?

I m*rder*d that traitor Lorenzo.

ARTURO: Y'all need something now, you come to me.

[SCOFFS]

sh*t, man.

DIEGO: I've heard that there are some supporters who challenge your accusation that Lorenzo k*lled Uriel.

They question whether you were justified to m*rder him.

DRE: Well, if there's a dispute, then it'll get dealt with quick and effectively.

You see, we run a tight ship around here, Diego, so it's all good, man.

Arturo.

[SPEAKING SPANISH]

Some m*therf*ckers still running their mouth.

Lorenzo's fools.

We fixin' to light 'em up.

I think I'd like to see this thing firsthand.

DIEGO: See how you handle disloyalty.

Come on down to the spot then.

- I show you how we do it.

- Let's go.

Uh, Diego, let me talk to you real quick.

You think that's the best idea?

It's already tough enough putting these face-to-face meetings together.

If law enforcement sees us running together No, no, no.

You think I give a f*ck about that?

No.

- Seguro.

- Ahí te llego al piso.

DIEGO: Gracias.

Dale.

Cristobal.

Todo bien.

CRISTOBAL: Hasta mañana.

- Claro, está bien.

- Vamos.

SPANKY: I don't get it.

Dre took our sh*t 'cause you sh*t that Lorenzo m*therf*cker, but then let this n*gga take the credit for it?

You see that bullshit?

[BROODING MUSIC]

Yeah, I see that sh*t.

TATE: As you can see, residential units are on the upper floor, which on the western side have unobstructed views of the Manhattan skyline.

It's really a thing of beauty.

Really, really is And then in addition to the sports center for the children, we've set it up where we have retail spaces on the ground level.

We wanna make sure that children have room to play and also jobs for the community.

Oh, I didn't realize it was zoned for retail.

It's not.

But we're looking into it.

TATE: Yes.

We are certainly looking into it.

Uh, okay.

And how much do you need to fill the remainder?

About $12 million.

[CHUCKLES]

Rashad.

Take a girl to dinner first.

[LAUGHTER]

Well, Linda, we have so many investors that are interested in meeting with us, but we wanted to make sure that you got the first bite of the apple.

Mm.

Well, guys, this sounds like a wonderful little project, and as a memorial to your daughter, James, that's really nice.

- Thank you.

- But it's not for me.

Uh, hang on a second, Linda.

- You haven't heard us through - No, actually, I have heard enough.

LINDA: Gentlemen, thank you.

And I wish you luck.

Thank you for the time, Linda.

[SIGHS]

Thank you, Linda.

[TENSE MUSIC]

[SIGHS]

- Mm.

- James.

What was that?

We never discussed retail.

Oh, come on, Rashad, give me a break.

She was into it until you shut it down.

Besides, there'll be other investors.

Linda was worth six investors.

Look, if you want her to break open her checkbook, you gotta be on board with me.

Follow my lead.

- On board with you?

- Yes.

While you sit here and run your mouth about residences and views and sh*t.

This is my vision, Rashad.

The only reason you're in my vision is because you know I know how to make something great.

- Come on, man.

- I know you understand how to run a successful club, and it's beautiful.

But this is a completely different game, my brother.

Listen, we're in this together.

You and I, we are a team.

And [SIGHS]

as your partner, with all due respect, I think you need to take some time off.

Yeah, I can handle the private investors.

And I'll be sure that Raina gets honored.

With all due respect, it's my project, it's my daughter.

I'll get it done.

You can see yourself out.

[DRAMATIC MUSIC]

SAXE: Teresi.

Thanks for meeting us.

[DOOR CLANKS SHUT]

The f*ck do you want?

Your lawyer moved to have your - sentence commuted.

- Uh-huh.

We'd be happy to let you out, really, but not without something in return.

You didn't tell him, did you?

TERESI: The only reason I'm in here is that I'm not a f*cking snitch piece of sh*t.

You can hold on to your Cosa Nostra bullshit all you want.

But we're here to give you a chance to see Connie.

Before she's gone.

SAXE: We're very interested in what you can tell us about a man you've been talking to recently.

TERESI: I've been locked up.

I ain't talked to anybody recently.

Thomas Patrick Egan?

Or or, should I say, Thomas Patrick Teresi?

[SOFT DRAMATIC MUSIC]

MAK: Yeah, you know, as far as we knew, Thomas Egan was raised by a single mom out in Queens.

MAK: No father to speak of.

Now, all of a sudden, he's visiting Daddy Dearest in jail.

We're thinking he might tell you things about his business, about his friend James St.

Patrick, maybe.

[BREATHES DEEPLY]

[LAUGHING]

TERESI: [LAUGHING]

This is f*cking hilarious.

[GUFFAWS]

MAK: What's so funny?

What, you can't be that close to him.

No, it's not that.

It's that the two of you think you came up with this all by yourselves.

I've been laying this track ever since I heard about Tommy Egan.

You know, getting close to him, getting to know him.

TERESI: And you guys wouldn't bite.

I finally had to get my lawyer to file one of those "comm" things, the - Commutation.

- Yeah.

You get us to make you a deal.

TERESI: [GIGGLES]

Smart.

Do you think Egan suspects anything?

Ah.

He thinks that I wanna get close to the son I never knew.

So the day he d*ed, it turns out Detective Jones looked at a witness statement from, uh, Tariq St.

Patrick about the death of his sister, Raina.

And?

Well, it seems you accessed this same witness statement.

What's the connection?

That'd be a coincidence, not a connection.

He's a detective and likely investigating something.

For me, the interest was personal.

I knew Raina.

But you went to his flop.

And before that, his house.

I mean, didn't you?

I I know you mentioned before that you never spoke with him directly.

But you did go to his house, right?

As I told you before, I'm conducting an investigation.

It's not that I won't answer your questions, Sergeant, it's that I can't.

But could you tell me how Raymond Jones and Raina are connected?

I've gotta get to work now.

So should you.

[EXHALES]

Could you get the door?

[SOFT LAUGH]

[FOREBODING MUSIC]

[KEYS CLACKING]

[TEXT MESSAGE SWOOPS]

[CELL PHONE BUZZES]

MAN: [CLEARS THROAT]

DIANE: Okay.

Would anyone like to start us off?

DALE: Um The other night, it seems, uh, a prayer was answered.

The man the drunk who k*lled our son, he, uh he was stabbed to death.

[SCATTERED GASPS]

JESSICA: You know, I thought this would make me feel better.

But it doesn't change anything.

It do It The police, they suspect me.

Obviously, I mean, uh, if anyone wanted him dead, I did.

[SOMBER MUSIC]

This doesn't bring Luke back.

Nothing will.

[CRYING]

Nothing's gonna bring my baby Baby.

[SOBBING]

[INDISTINCT CHATTER]

But I didn't think she was gonna be a problem.

But she's made a connection between Raymond Jones and Raina.

Tasha.

Uh um, I'm sorry.

Sorry, what what were you saying?

What's wrong?

It's nothing.

Um, so, okay, so you were saying this woman, she made a connection between Ray Ray and Raina?

What did you say to her?

That I was conducting a federal investigation, and as local NYPD she needed to leave it alone.

Do you think she will?

No.

But I can stop it.

Obstruction of justice, round two.

I'm supposed to be this great prosecutor and here I am colluding with you to cover up a f*cking m*rder.

I just came from church, so - [SOFT LAUGH]

- Here we are.

If I can't stop this woman, we may need to talk to Jamie, and bring him into the loop.

No.

Stop her, please.

Ghost can only make things worse.

[OMINOUS MUSIC]

Oh, sh*t.

- K, what up, n*gga?

- What up, man?

- Where the f*ck you been?

- What's up, man?

In and out of town, you know me.

You still running for Dre?

Yeah, you gonna see him?

He ain't tell you about me and him?

What happened between y'all?

You remember Broc, right?

Last I heard, he caught a body.

He had to leave town.

Remember the night Broc was mouthing off to Tommy and sh*t, - getting all disrespectful?

- Uh-huh.

Dre went and b*at the boy half to death.

- Come on, man.

- Cut his tongue out.

sh*t him in the head.

The f*ck?

Take you, show you where the body at right now if you want.

But you know where he be hiding his sh*t.

He lying to you about Broc, man.

Damn, man, I think he treating you like you the police or some sh*t.

Thought he was f*cking with you, right?

Dre took away my gambling sh*t to check me like I'm his g*dd*mn kid.

Word?

Who'd he give it to?

Cristobal, head of the Tainos.

His new best f*cking friend.

I think the new connect like Cristobal more than he like Dre.

NEWSFLASH: everybody like everybody more than they like Dre.

- [LAUGHS]

- And fast.

Let me get one of them.

You a crazy m*therf*cker.

So what's up with the gambling sh*t?

Listen, I only got a minute.

I just heard from my lawyer.

There's something happening with my case.

I think I might see daylight soon.

How is he gonna do that?

TERESI: Something to do with a crooked prosecutor.

I don't know, but I think they're throwing out all of his cases.

Hey, I'm too old to worry about the details.

I just can't wait to make up for lost time with you, son.

- All right.

- TERESI: Talk later.

[FOREBODING MUSIC]

You know that couple who lost their son to a drunk driver?

The drunk driver was k*lled the other night.

Well, they can rest easier knowing he's dead.

Did you know about this already?

Ghost, please tell me you didn't have anything to do with this.

I didn't have anything to do with it.

[SCOFFS]

What is wrong with you?

You can't k*ll Dre, and for some f*cking reason you refuse to k*ll Kanan.

And now you're a vigilante?

They don't feel better that he's dead.

Just like we don't feel better that Ray Ray is dead.

Trust me, they will feel better.

That m*therf*cker can't hurt anyone again, - all right?

- Do you?

Do you feel better?

You can put a hundred bodies in the ground, Ghost, and not one of them is gonna bring her back.

[OMINOUS MUSIC]

I had to do it.

I had to make one thing right, Tasha, okay?

GHOST: Come on, Tasha.

He's a g*dd*mn drunk driver.

He's gonna f*cking k*ll another kid.

Nobody will miss him.

You don't get to make that f*cking call.

I've been making that call since you known me.

The next time you feel you need to k*ll somebody so damn bad, why don't you k*ll Kanan instead?

Let's get this over with.

What do you know about them?

This is Diego Jimenez, the Chihuahua of the Jimenez clan.

Been raised in the States since his mom moved to San Diego.

- And the woman?

- [MUMBLES]

Maybe a wife, a girlfriend?

I know she goes by the name Alicia.

I'm looking to connect him with his brother who we think stays across the border and build a RICO case.

Do you have any idea as to his identity or are you familiar with any of the other players?

I mean, the rest of them down there stay pretty low-profile.

They're ruthless, but they're also survivors.

I can hook you up with Mexico's AUSA equivalent on the case.

You wanna work with me on this?

If it means we get the bad guys, sure.

Oh, no, one last thing.

You're not f*cking Diego Jimenez by any chance?

If I were, I wouldn't need you.

Oh.

I just had to check.

[KNOCKING ON DOOR]

[AMBIENT MUSIC]

[KNOCKS TWICE]

- Tommy.

- Hey, 'Keisha.

Come in.

[SOFT MUSIC]

What's up?

Yo, you got anything to drink?

You can't stay that long.

Why not?

'Cause I got a friend coming over.

What, some guy?

That's none of your business.

Well, I got something I wanna talk to you about.

Can we sit down somewhere?

Please?

Sit down.

So what's up?

My dad is getting out of prison.

I thought you said he was in there for life.

Yeah, that's what I thought.

I don't trust it.

And now he wants to hang out and everything, like we're gonna play catch or some sh*t.

And the thing is, I just found out he existed, you know?

But he known about me my whole life.

So it's like, why now?

Does he want some sh*t from me or something?

I don't know, Tommy.

I mean, he's old, right?

Yeah.

So he might be trying to make right by his mistakes.

I'm not saying you shouldn't be suspicious, but if it was me, I wouldn't say no.

Some mistakes are made to be forgiven.

You really believe that?

'Cause I made a big mistake with you, 'Keisha.

I did too, with you.

Ooh.

So you really came over here to talk about your dad?

Or are you just trying to get back in?

- For real?

- I'm asking.

It ain't even like that.

I don't know what to do about my dad.

And I sure as hell don't know what to do about you.

What, you gonna hate me forever?

- I don't hate you.

- No?

Look, maybe your dad had his reasons why he stayed away.

[SOFT SCOFF]

Yeah.

Maybe he did.

KEISHA: If you really don't trust it, is there any way you can find out if it's real?

Like, do you know anyone that knows him?

Anyone that knows his situation?

You know what?

I think I might know somebody.

- [CHUCKLES]

- [SOFT LAUGH]

See, you're smart.

Thanks, 'Keish.

You're welcome.

Bye, Tommy.

Okay.

Bye, 'Keisha.

[DOOR OPENS]

[DOOR CLOSES]

[SIGHS]

[KNOCKING]

- [SIGHS]

- KANAN: Tommy ain't home?

[UNEASY MUSIC]

No, he's not.

Sorry about Raina.

You should be sorry about Tariq.

If it weren't for you, he wouldn't have been messing with Ray Ray in the first place.

He'd still be a good kid.

And Raina would still be alive.

I think you're forgetting I saved Tariq's life, twice now.

If you didn't bring him into the life, you wouldn't have had to.

You don't get no m*therf*cking points for cleaning up a mess you made.

You picked a drug dealer for his father, Tasha.

You brought the boy into this life before the little n*gga was born.

You still look good, though.

Get the f I bet you like to fight back.

[BREATHES HEAVILY]

[SOFT CHUCKLE]

Yeah, you like that.

If you f*ck with me, you better k*ll me, n*gga.

'Cause I swear to God, you best believe I will get you back.

[ELEVATOR DINGS]

I believe you.

What's up, y'all?

I'm just chopping it up about old times.

f*ck you, Kanan.

And f*ck you too, for bringing him into our lives.

I'm your family, not him.

What the f*ck did you just say to her?

Nothing, she's just trippin'.

[ELEVATOR DINGS]

Stay here.

[FOOTSTEPS RUNNING]

TOMMY: Tasha.

[PANTING]

What'd you do, run down the stairs?

I've had to catch women leaving here before.

[SIGHS]

What the f*ck happened up there?

I don't wanna talk about it.

I just don't want him around.

TOMMY: He serves a purpose, T.

Look, I know how you feel about him, but once this Dre sh*t is over, so will this little reunion with K.

Mm.

What'd you come here for?

Ghost k*lled somebody the other night.

Oh, yeah?

Who?

A drunk driver k*lled a kid.

The parents told the story in our grief group.

No one's gonna miss the guy.

That's not the f*cking point, Tommy.

Ghost is acting reckless.

And if he gets caught, it could f*ck up our whole sh*t.

So, please, keep an eye on him.

Yeah, yeah, okay, I'll keep an eye.

- I will.

- Thank you.

You're welcome.

And Tasha, I hear you about Kanan.

It won't be too long.

It better not be.

Or I'll do something about him myself.

ARTURO: These men all remained loyal to Lorenzo, even after he conspired to k*ll my cousin Uriel!

Hmm?

Far as I'm concerned, these bitch-ass n*gg*s deserve to die right alongside him.

- Yeah.

- [BREATHING HEAVILY]

The look in a man's face when he knows he's made the wrong choice.

DIEGO: Fear.

Regret.

[PANTING]

Arturo, how did you know?

I always assumed Lorenzo would do better at planning a coup.

Lorenzo would run his mouth, so that's how word got out.

Why do you insist on answering a question that isn't addressed to you?

- No, I'm just - Ah-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta.

[SPEAKING SPANISH]

[SIGHS]

ARTURO: What Dre said is right.

m*therf*cker was talking sh*t.

MARIO: [WHIMPERING SOFTLY]

Maybe we should ask him.

See what he has to say.

Hmm?

Nah.

Go ahead, do it.

- MARIO: [GRUNTING]

- Now?

[MUFFLED SCREAMING]

Yeah.

MARIO: [MUFFLED SCREAMING]

[WHIMPERS]

[MUFFLED]

f*ck you.

Mm-hmm.

[SPEAKING SPANISH]

[MUFFLED WHIMPERING]

You know, the state of your business is very volatile right now.

I think you need a strong hand to help you.

I'm handling it just fine.

And what about when the Toros revolt again?

Whose army will you use to keep them in check?

No.

Cristobal is gonna be - your number two.

- [SOFT SCOFF]

And you're gonna watch your step.

You know, I don't know how it is that you made my sister's p*ssy so wet, but you don't make my d*ck hard.

I have no interest in your sister beyond business, Diego.

I know.

But keep your f*cking eyes to yourself.

Or I'll rip 'em from your head.

[SOFT SCOFF]

And I'll choke you with them.

[BROODING MUSIC]

All right.

MAN: I'll get back to you.

Okay.

- Oh - I'm so sorry.

Oh, it's it's okay.

- Let me help you with these.

- I I got it.

I, um You're Angela Valdes.

Right?

You're the new Head of Criminal here at the Eastern District?

I'm sorry.

Agent Juan Julio Medina, he spoke about you when I met with his division a few days ago.

He was actually just here, helping me with a case.

That makes you DEA?

Oh, yeah.

Steve Tampio.

[OMINOUS MUSIC]

D. C. office.

Not bad.

I'm sure Mom's proud.

[SOFT LAUGH]

What does the Director of Public Enrichment do exactly?

I'm just the shadowy figure that lurks in the background.

[CHUCKLES]

Do you wanna have dinner, AUSA Valdes?

8:00?

Listen, do you know anybody that can launder money?

Oh, don't don't ask me sh*t like that, - okay?

- I'm just saying.

You got a guy for a lot of things.

You know I'm not supposed to be seen anywhere near you.

Th the bar committee hasn't even rendered a decision.

Oh, my God.

This f*cking bar committee sh*t.

When you gonna realize there's a million ways for you to make money if you can't - be a lawyer no more?

- Legal ways?

I didn't say all that now.

I looked into Teresi like you asked.

Okay.

Everything seems to check out.

Him getting out looks legit.

All right.

So he ain't a snitch or nothing?

Not as far as I could see.

He's a made man.

If he was talking to the feds, they would have him in WITSEC - Yeah.

- Long before he could catch two to the base of his skull.

- You know?

- I know, no.

You right.

You right.

Look, if you suspect anything, let me know.

In the meantime, we should stay far out of touch.

So could you try not to call when you need stuff?

[LAUGHS]

I'm serious.

CRISTOBAL: Hey, yo, Dre.

It's about 300 grand tonight.

I got it with me.

I'll see you in the morning.

[CAR CHIRPS]

KANAN: Give me the keys or I'll sh**t you right in your f*cking head.

[EXHALES]

Easy.

Take it easy.

You don't wanna do this.

You're making a big mistake.

- You know who the f*ck I am?

- You think I give a f*ck?

I said give me the keys, and your phone.

[MIBBS' "NO NEW LEADERS"]

- Damn, yo damn, yo - [CAR CHIRPS]

Y'all about to make me flip out Like damn, bro That mask's not gonna stop me from finding out who you are.

- [BLOW LANDS]

- Keep playing with me, bitch.

Damn, yo damn, yo - [GRUNTS]

- [CAR DOOR SHUTS]

Y'all gonna make me flip out like Rambo [SPEAKING SPANISH]

So, James, what do you have that's gonna make me change my mind.

[SOFT CHUCKLE]

[ELEGANT PIANO MUSIC]

Ah.

- The Queens Child Project - Mm-hmm?

It's not only personal to me because I wanna erect a monument - to my daughter Raina - Mm-hmm.

But also because I grew up in that community.

I was one of the lucky ones that made it out.

But I saw a lot of v*olence.

I tried to protect my kids from it, and I failed.

And you really think you're gonna change the whole area around?

I mean, the project is just one building.

Well, if I were you, I would start buying buildings in the surrounding area, Linda, fast as I can.

I just need an anchor to make a difference.

You're so confident.

I know what I'm capable of.

[SOFT CHUCKLE]

Why don't we, uh, continue this conversation upstairs?

GHOST: Okay.

And, uh, James?

Bring the bottle.

[ROXIE BARDO'S "HIDE & SEEK"]

Don't hold back if you're bad Baby, I'm the worst You set my blood on fire you're not the first So don't hold back if you're bad Baby, I'm the worst And that ain't nothin' It ain't nothin' it ain't nothin' Hands on me but it ain't nothin' Know you like the game Know you like to play with me Like hide and seek Whatever you want, nobody knows us Baby, why don't we go and get a key?

Know you like the game Know you like to play with me Like hide and seek The job's ruined a few of my relationships.

Being a boss means having more enemies than friends at work.

[GENTLE PIANO MUSIC]

So what's your first win gonna be, boss?

I can't say much, but I got a lead on the Jimenez cartel.

The Jimenez?

f*ck, good for you.

Been trying to nail those guys for years.

Mm.

Let me buy you a drink in my hotel.

Thanks.

But I've got an early day tomorrow.

Well, if you, uh, change your mind, I'll be in town just for one more night.

[DISTANT SIRENS WAILING]

Do I need to explain anything to her?

No, that's exactly the point.

Her investigation's gone too far.

Shut it down.

[SIPS]

[CELL PHONE BUZZES TWICE]

You need to get that?

No.

So I'd like this to happen right away.

Got it.

So I let Tommy think - I had a man coming over, right?

- Mm-hmm.

But it was just TeNaya bringing samples from the shop.

- But he didn't know that.

- [BOTH LAUGH]

'Keisha, you ain't changed since the eighth grade.

I am not gonna go back there again.

Nah.

I can't.

So why you let him in?

'Cause you know, if you let him in now, you're gonna be letting him in later.

No, I'm not.

He tried to kiss me and I stopped him.

TASHA: All right, well, just be careful.

Because Tommy is not himself lately.

I mean, I guess none of us are.

How's 'Riq doing?

Honestly, I don't know.

I don't know who he is now.

I I just still feel like he isn't telling me everything that happened, you know?

I mean, I don't know how he got that way.

I do.

Tasha, you've been lying to them kids they whole life.

They don't even know who you are.

What you expect?

They can't learn what they don't see.

[STIRRING MUSIC]

Tash.

I'm sorry.

I'm sorry, that was harsh.

No.

You're right.

It's the truth.

All I'm saying is, if you want things to be different, then you gotta make 'em different.

[BREATHES DEEPLY]

[KNOCKING ON DOOR]

Tommy.

Ma, what the f*ck are you doing here?

- Oh, my Lord.

- [g*n CLICKING]

So much sadness.

Poor Rhonda.

I can't believe what happened.

- Rhonda?

- Jamie's daughter.

I made them this casserole, because, you know, people like to eat when they're grieving.

When's the funeral?

Well, Ma, Raina's funeral - was a few days ago.

- Ah.

And I I haven't talked to you since before that.

- Really?

Has it been that long?

- Yeah.

- Yeah, about that long.

- KATE: Gosh, I must be losing my mind.

- [SOFT LAUGH]

- Hey, honey, um.

- My supply is a little low.

- Oh Do you think you could help me out?

Is that what this is about?

I f*ckin' should've known!

Why are you so pissed at me?

TOMMY: Have you actually lost your mind?

Can I finally put you in a home?

Is this about the birth certificate?

Huh?

Oh, you're still seeing that shithead, Teresi?

- He's getting an early release.

- [SNIFFS]

What's he asking you for?

Nothin', Ma.

He ain't asking me for nothin'.

He ain't asking you for nothing yet.

He's the devil, Tommy.

He's gonna use you.

Just like you use me?

For coke?

My son is smarter than this.

Just you wait.

I'll be right.

Love you.

[KISSES]

[FOREBODING MUSIC]

2-BIT: Yo, Dre, I called you.

Cristobal got hit outside the Blind Pig.

He already told me, man.

You f*cked up when you gave him that sh*t, Dre.

If it was me and Spanky, only way them m*therf*ckers would've left was in body bags.

Look, man, we'll talk about this later.

I got other sh*t I gotta handle.

All right, listen up.

We got some changes I need to make official.

I'm focused on our international network.

So here at home, Cristobal is officially my number two.

He's running sh*t.

So if you need anything, come to him first.

Listen, we got hit last night.

So as a precaution, we gonna switch up the drops.

You got a question for Dre, you come and see me first.

[CHUCKLES]

Man How old are you, man?

Yo, man, you got a f*cking problem with me?

I'm not gonna report to you like some m*therf*cking vice principal, you feel me, man?

DRE: It's my call.

If you don't like it, you can get the f*ck out.

Do you feel me?

[TENSE MUSIC]

[SCOFFS]

I really don't give a f*ck, all right?

So we good?

Yeah, we're good.

Good.

Good.

We good.

DRE: All right.

[INDISTINCT RADIO CHATTER]

What's going on?

I'm Agent Jerry Donovan, FBI.

We'd like your assistance in gathering all the files associated with the Raymond Jones m*rder.

I have a court order stating that your investigation is now under our jurisdiction.

Bullshit.

Let me see that order.

[SCOFFS]

Angela Valdes?

BLANCA: I should've f*ckin' known.

Your boss is covering her ass, you know.

She's involved.

You have proof of that?

No.

Then just stay out of our way.

This is all we have from Mexico.

Okay.

We've known this one for a while, Diego Jimenez.

ANGELA: What we don't know is who the f*ck are all these men, and are any of them related to Diego?

Well, these two might be his bodyguards, 'cause we see them everywhere.

Except when they're following her, Alicia.

Do you think she's some kind of, I don't know, spokesperson for the cartel when Diego can't be in Mexico?

What do you mean?

The way she's surrounded when he's not around.

I don't know, it's as if she's, like, the number two in the organization.

Honestly, we don't have a lot of details on her, all right?

Diego is a party animal.

Chicks all over the place.

Maybe she's got his balls in some sort of vice.

I think she's in a real position of power.

The Jimenez brothers.

[SUSPENSEFUL MUSIC]

Oh, my God.

Oh, my f*cking God.

We're idiots.

Uh, speak for yourself.

Los Hermanos Jimenez.

ANGELA: Sure, "hermanos" means "brothers.

" "Sisters," "hermanas.

" But how do you say siblings?

How do you say both brother and sister?

Oh, sh*t.

"Hermanos.

" Jesus.

This Alicia is Diego's sister?

If that's true Then we have the leaders of the biggest cartel in North America in New York City right now.

Arresting them could end their entire organization with no jurisdictional bullshit.

All right, gentlemen, let's get our warrants.

GHOST: There he is, councilman.

- Hey.

- Hey.

So, Linda's happy, and she's back on board.

How'd you pull that off?

We had dinner.

Sorted it out.

Ah.

[CHUCKLES]

You smooth talkin' her.

Spit some game.

Then dropped the d*ck on her.

That what you call "sorting it out"?

You know, after our meeting, her major concern was your lack of professionalism.

All you managed to do by f*cking her is prove she was right to have concern.

She played me.

You played yourself, James.

And you're enjoying this.

Maybe you should start taking my advice.

Lesson one, I'm not your pimp.

Did you not pimp out me and Tasha with that little press conference stunt, huh?

Did you not pimp my daughter my dead daughter at her funeral?

James.

We [TENSE MUSIC]

We still have a lot of business.

Our big fundraiser is in a few days.

Let's not let this go sour now.

I'll get the money.

Whatever it takes.

[CHUCKLES]

That's the spirit.

Mm.

Damn, I'm glad you called.

I thought I struck out.

No, that wasn't about you.

- Just, you know, had to work.

- Mm.

And since you said you'd be here one more night, I figured [CELL PHONE BUZZES]

Ah, let me guess, work.

[SIGHS]

Yes.

Hey.

Let me see.

Let me see.

[SIGHS]

[LAUGHS]

[CELL PHONE BUZZING]

- [LAUGHS]

- Ignore it.

- [CELL PHONE BUZZING]

- My boss will freak out if she can't reach me.

STEVE: Do you have to take it?

[OMINOUS MUSIC]

So where were we?

ANGELA: This is Angela Valdes.

I can't take your call right now.

Please leave your message after [LINE TRILLING]

[CELL PHONE BUZZING]

[SNORTS]

What's up?

GHOST: Tommy, what up?

Um Look, man, I've been thinking.

I need clean money to help me finance the QCP, and you need clean money to pay Jason back.

So I think we should go back to our old arrangement that worked so well, at Truth.

So how's that work?

You take a cut?

GHOST: A service fee, but we can into the details later, if you're down.

So, like old times.

Yeah, like old times.

But Tommy, if we're gonna work together now - [KNOCKING ON DOOR]

- GHOST: I gotta make sure that you not f*cking with Kanan in business, 'cause if you are, man, I I gotta be out.

[TENSE MUSIC]

GHOST: Tommy?

TOMMY: Yo, Ghost, let me call you right back.

Later.

Yo, what's up, K?

What's in the bag?

1/4 mil, up front.

You gonna cut me in or not?

I'll have it ready for you tomorrow.

That's what's up.

Yo, you want a beer?

Yo, you all right in here?

Yeah, this old mobster I know is getting out the joint.

Good for him.

Yeah, I don't know.

I don't trust it.

He was serving life, now he's getting out?

That's the same sh*t happen to me, remember?

Yeah, but I think he's a snitch.

Maybe.

Mobsters who snitch ain't in jail.

[CHUCKLES]

Well.

Why you give a f*ck?

He know some sh*t about you?

[SOFT SCOFF]

He's my dad.

sh*t, you Mafia?

That's how you know the Italians?

So this means you're gonna get us, like, Armani suits and sh*t like that?

Would you stop, K?

Man, you play too much.

So when you find out you got a dad?

I don't know.

Not long ago.

So don't trip and don't waste it.

I ain't never had one.

I don't know, go to the ball game or some sh*t.

f*ck you, man.

Y'all could play catch or something.

[AMBIENT MUSIC]

Well, here we are.

This is Choate.

It's big.

Mm-hmm.

'Riq, wait.

There's something I gotta say to you.

I'm sorry.

Sorry for what?

I'm sorry for lying to you all this time.

You deserve the truth.

Your dad and I, we grew up in Queens in the hood.

I mean, it was a hard life.

And and we just wanted to protect you kids from that.

I mean, people who grew up like we did, they didn't have a lot of options, 'Riq.

And selling dr*gs was just a way to keep your head above water, nothing more.

But you make a lot of money.

Not when you're a corner boy.

When I met your father, I knew he was different.

We didn't get everything we got 'cause he was a drug dealer.

He was always a businessman first.

Look, we always said that we didn't want our kids to ever have to feel the hunger that we felt.

We didn't want you to know what the streets were like.

So that's why you didn't tell us.

Yeah.

I mean, it It wasn't a lie, 'Riq.

Not the way you think.

It it was a hope, a hope that you wouldn't have to know.

I mean, we we thought we were protecting you.

But all we did was teach you how to lie.

[SOLEMN MUSIC]

Baby, I'm so sorry.

[VOICE BREAKING]

I'm sorry.

I was scared.

I saw I saw Ray Ray sh**t Raina.

Wha I didn't know she followed me outside.

I was hiding from Ray Ray and I I heard her voice.

And I looked and there she goes.

And she It just happened so fast.

I told her I I would handle it, but I watched.

I watched her die.

[CRYING]

I miss her so much.

[CRYING]

I miss her too.

[BOTH CRYING]

[DOOR CLANKS]

- [DISTANT MAN SHOUTS]

- [GATE BUZZES]

MAN: Open the gate.

[GATE CLANKS OPEN]

[GATE CLANKS]

[GATE CLANKS, BUZZES]

[ENGINE REVVING]

[CHUCKLES]

Hey.

TERESI: Tommy.

Hey.

Welcome back to the other side.

[EXHALES DEEPLY]

Breathe it in.

It's good to see you, son.

It's good to see you too.

Come on.

Yeah.

Come on.

Get in the car.

Let's get the f*ck out of here.

[LAUGHS]

This is a nice ride.

TOMMY: So, what you wanna do?

Let's get a slice and go home.

I wanna see Connie.

Then you and me, we're gonna get into some trouble.

[CHUCKLES]

[ENGINE REVVING]

[ACE COSGROVE'S "FEW STEPS BACK"]

And it's happened again When the world turns black Don't wanna see the enemy I'm going few steps back Gotta wake up one day to change For me to make amends Yeah See the dream that I've changed And it's happened again When the world turns black Don't wanna see the enemy I'm going few steps back Gotta wake up one day to change For me to make amends Yeah See the dream that I've changed again Pa-do-dop Change, change I wanna make a Few steps back I wanna see the world better And make this last forever And it's happened again When the world turns black Don't wanna see the enemy I'm going few steps back Gotta wake up one day to change 'Cause either way I need to make amends
