(CLAPPING AND JEERING)

(ALL CONTINUE JEERING LOUDLY)

VERA: Drop it! (FERGUSON CHOKES)

(SCREAMS) Drop it!

(METAL CLATTERS) (GROANS)

I want to be moved into protection immediately.

I don't think so. I want her in H Block by lunchtime.

You were his girlfriend? He was obsessed with you.

He even had a shrine to you all over the wall.

I have done some messed-up sh*t.

I swear, I do love you.

You are the single biggest mistake I have ever made.

You are not a man, you are a puppet with Ferguson's hand so far up your arse, you will never be free of her.

Now I'm gonna get out and you're gonna come with me.

Get me out of here. I'm not a miracle worker.

You find a way.

While she's still breathing, she is never gonna stop.

To get justice, sometimes you need to cross a line.

(WHEEZES)

VERA: Everyone, get back! Get back!

ALLIE: We can't go back. We have to.

There'|| be a count. Come on. Oh, sh*t!

OK, just go. I'll be right behind you.

Oi, Novak! Stop right there. f*ck!

I think I've discovered an escape plan.

Soon as |ockdown's lifted, we've gotta move.

ALLIE: I'm sorry, but I had to lie to you.

But I think I found a way to protect you.

Oh, sh*t! ALLIE: To get you out.

So get going. Run like hell and clear your name.

I need to do something else.

I made a deal, to share my escape plan.

(SHOVELLING)

Argh! (SCREECHES) Let me out of here!

(SCREAMS) Noooo!

SONG: j& You don't know me j& When I don't know you j& You don't know me j& When I don't know you j& You're calling me in j& And you're catching me out j& You're calling me in j& And you're catching me out j& You're calling me in j& And you're catching me out j& You don't know me j& When I don't know you. j&

FEMALE NEWSREADER: ..a Corrections spokesperson confirmed that two prisoners escaped via a prison industries workshop, established by regional manager Derek Channing, who has been unavailable for comment since the incident.

Sources say Doyle and Ferguson would have needed staff assistance to orchestrate such an escape.

The prison remains in lockdown as investigators question staff and inmates to establish if the two had assistance and what their plans were on the outside.

48 hours later, police remain on the hunt for the Wentworth escapees.

(SIREN WAILS)

Earlier, a Corrections spokesperson confirmed investigations into that escape reflect on integrity of the prison security itself.

This week's escape, though, certainly does.

Police have already questioned around 100 inmates and staff and intend to continue.

(SIREN WAILS) (TYRES SCREECH)

(TRAIN HORN BLOWS) (CROSSING BELLS RING)

(JOURNALIST SPEAKS INDISTINCTLY)

JOURNALIST: With both inmates still on the loose, the prison and the department are under pressure.

Now the Governor, Derek Channing, is now being...

(JOURNALISTS SPEAK AT ONCE) (MAN SPEAKS ON LOUDSPEAKER)

JOURNALIST: ..now been removed from his position and replaced by the former governor, Vera Bennett.

She now faces the tough task of trying to bring stability...

Move back. (CAMERA SHUTTERS CLICK)

WILL: Move back, please. Trying to make a statement?

Just move back, please!

(SHUTTER CLICKS LOUDLY)

(DRIVING MECHANICAL MUSIC)

(MUSIC MUTES) (ELECTRICITY BUZZES)

(MUTED |\/|uslc b*at QUICKENS, THEN STOPS)

(DISTANT CLAMOURING)

Name?

Rita. Rita Connors.

Date of birth? RITA: November 15, '71.

(KEYBOARD TAPS)

Next of kin?

Nuh.

(CLAMOURING AND ELECTRIC BUZZING CONTINUE)

Can I keep my jacket?

While you're on remand, yep.

You'll need to lose the patches, though.

(ALARM BLARES)

(LOCK BUZZES, DOOR OPENS)

(ALARM CONTINUES BLARING)

(CLAMOURING INTENSIFIES)

Press still out there? WILL: Yes.

And the cops are back. They want to speak to you again.

They'll have to wait. What triggered the alarm?

J Block set fire to some mattresses.

Fire brigade been called? It's OK, it's out.

Slot them. Slot the lot of them.

Well, the slot's full.

I mean, we could separate the troublemakers.

Put them in other blocks. Get onto it.

Shut the hell up! (CLAMOURING)

(ALARM CONTINUES)

(RHYTHMIC BANGING) (PRISONERS CHANT) Let us out!

Let us out! Let us out!

Let us out! Let us out!

Let us out! Let us out!

Let us out! Let us out! Let us out!

BOOMER: Hey!

(PRISONERS CONTINUE CHANTING)

Hey! Can you let us out of here?

'Cause it's not our fault they f*ckin' escaped, eh?

Just let us out. Mr Stewart.

I need to talk to you. BOOMER: Hey!

No-one's tellin' us nothin' either! How's Sonia?

Do you know? ALLIE: Mr Stewart!

What's happening? Just keep moving, Connors.

BOOMER: We want the tellies back on as well.

(YELLS) Oh, come on! We're not f*cking animals!

(DOOR PIPS)

The women are losing it. I need to speak to the Governor.

Your cell's over there. You can't keep us cooped up.

It's a violation of our rights.

On really, is it? Welcome to prison.

-On -(SHOUTING)

You got a name?

Rita. KAZ: You a biker?

Conquerors.

WOMAN: You wanna be careful wearing that.

Someone in here might want to take it for themselves.

They can try.

I'm Kaz. I'm in charge around here.

Remember that, we got no problems.

PRISONER: You guys suck!

I am not making any statements. Don't call this number again.

How'd they get your number?

I don't know, but they know Channing's been fired.

(LOCK BEEPS)

Sorry to keep you waiting.

WILL: I'll check on those transfers.

VERA: I thought you'd already talked to all the women.

We're following a new lead.

We think Doyle and Ferguson had help from your side of the bars.

We have a suspect we'd like to talk to you about.

Right, and who's that?

Visitor centre records show that Bridget Westfall visited Doyle three times in the 10 days prior to her escape.

Ms Westfall resigned some weeks before, so why was she visiting Doyle?

Well, you'd have to ask Ms Westfall that.

If you're withholding any information...

I can't be certain, but it is possible that Doyle formed some kind of emotional attachment.

Was it reciprocated? (PHONE RINGS)

I don't know.

(PHONE CONTINUES RINGING)

I told you to hold my calls.

Someone helped the prisoners escape, Ms Bennett.

We need to establish who it was.

(PHONE RINGS AGAIN)

MALE DETECTIVE: The sooner we recapture the escapees, the sooner your prison returns to normal.

(SOFTLY) Yeah.

Haven't got time, Mitchell! Get off me! Nuh.

Move it, Mitchell! Come on! Not going anywhere.

Nuh, I had nothin' to do with it!

Not goin' nowhere. WILL: Let go.

Didn't hear me, cloth ears? I'm not goin' anywhere.

What's goin' on, Mr Jackson? Nothing to worry about.

Last chance, Mitchell. Let's go.

Treat us like animals and we'll act like one!

Oh, shut the f*ck up.

(CHUCKLES)

(SUSPENSEFUL MUSIC)

WILL: Let's go, Mitchell. You need to lift the lockdown.

ALLIE: Ms Miles? Ms Miles?

I need to talk to Officer Stewart.

I'll pop a note in his diary. Who the f*ck's she?

Trouble. Cell 16. Play nice.

What? Wasn't my fault. b*tches trashed my unit.

Hey, hey, hey, hey! 16, not 15.

Alright, that's Franky's cell. You don't go in there, OK?

She's me best mate. True?

BOOMER: Yeah. She's a legend.

I hope she gives those pigs a run for their money.

Hey, love. Haven't seen you around. You a newbie?

Nah, I've been over in J Block for three months. Got six left.

Yeah, what you in for? For being black.

(LAUGHS NERVOUSLY) Nah, for resisting arrest.

But that's not my fault either. I'm seeing a pattern.

MITCHELL: Believe it or not, Sugar Tits.

(CLICKS TONGUE AND CHUCKLES QUIETLY)

Oh, that's all we need. More attitude.

(SOFT, POIGNANT MUSIC)

(MUSIC INTENSIFIES)

(SIREN WAILS)

MAN: Floor it! Go, go, go, go! (CAR ENGINE REVS)

(TYRES SCREECH, GLASS SMASHES)

(PRISONERS CLAMOUR NEARBY)

(TRAIN HORN BLOWS, TRAIN PASSES)

RADIO PRESENTER: Both Doyle and Ferguson are considered dangerous or may be armed.

The potential collusion between Doyle and Ferguson has come as a surprise to Wentworth staff and prisoners alike, given the apparent conflict between the pair, which...

WORKER: Hey, bro! Get your arse down here.

...of Ferguson as Wentworth's governor.

One member of WentwonWs correctional staff, who wished to remain unnamed, said he thought it was unlikely the pair would be on the run together.

And now a look at the weather.

Tomorrow it's looking windy with showers.

Forecast for Melbourne, partly cloudy.

High chance of showers, mainly in the early morning.

(RHYTHMIC PERCUSSIVE MUSIC)

(MUSIC DARKENS)

f*ck!

(MUSIC INTENSIFIES AND FADES)

(SEVERAL PHONES RING)

How'd it go with the police? They got any leads?

Why the hell are you still here?

I wanna make things right.

If you want the deputyship back, you can forget it.

If it was up to me, you'd be queuing at the job centre.

I want to make things right with us.

Are you that deluded?

I love you.

Just give me a chance to prove it.

I will prove that you helped Ferguson escape and when I do, that evidence you think you have on me is hearsay.

It'll be my word against yours. (LOCK BEEPS)

OK, come through but make it quick.

I've got a call with the board in five minutes.

It's the lockdown. The women are going crazy.

They are this close to losing it.

Most of them have never been near the workshop and they don't understand why they're being punished for someone else's breakout.

We've already established Jenkins distracted an officer.

Maybe others were involved too.

The escape worked because no-one knew about it.

They're being denied their basic rights here.

They need fresh air. They need to eat together.

They need TVs on. They need to work.

The women respect you, Ms Bennett.

But if you leave them cooped up for much longer, you're gonna lose them.

Wait outside, please.

(VERA SIGHS) (DOOR CLOSES)

What do you think?

WILL: Well, J Block are still going nuts.

Now D Block are kicking off, and we've moved people around.

It could be a good circuit breaker.

Get things settled.

(PHONE RINGS) (SIGHS)

Alright. I'll lift the lockdown. You implement it.

But TV privileges stay suspended.

Sure. Yes?

KAZ: Thanks for helping. WILL: Oh, works for me.

Last thing I need is a riot.

Late nights? You look like crap.

I'm knackered.

Double shifts, the cops in and out, interviewing everyone.

They got any leads? I don't think so.

I don't get it. Why would Franky leave with Ferguson?

Where would they go? It doesn't add up.

Sooner or later they'll find Ferguson.

And she'll be back.

(DARK MUSIC)

(EARTH LANDS LOUDLY)

(H9)'-

Jesus, mate, you look shithouse.

Vera's gunning for me. She thinks I helped Ferguson.

So put her off the scent. How?

I dunno. Use that f*cked-up brain of yours.

Mate, this is your problem too.

(BREATHES HEAVILY) I've done my bit, OK?

And I feel sick about it.

But I did it for Vera and the women, alright?

You're not my responsibility.

You're on your own, you got that?

You got that?

(EXHALES) (DOOR SLAMS)

P.A.: Attention, compound.

Lockdown is now lifted.

I repeat, lockdown is now lifted.

(PRISONERS CHEER AND CHATTER)

Halle-f*cking-lujah! PRISONER: Whoo-hoo!

Want some air? You 00min'?

PRISONER: Yes. Whoo!

About time.

(PRISONERS CHATTER EXCITEDLY)

Yes! Oh, you're the best, Kaz.

Oh, my God. Hey, do you wanna like...

Cheers, Kaz. You're a bloody legend!

Onya, Kaz. Onya, Kaz!

You're welcome. Nice to see ya.

(PRISONERS CONTINUE CHATTERING)

Hey, Ms College, is there any news on Sonia Stevens?

COLLEGE: No. BOOMER: Like anything?

COLLEGE: As far as I know she's still critical.

Just, like, tell me... COLLEGE: Sorry, love.

(H9)'-

What the hell are you doin' here?

I just wanna talk.

I never wanna talk to you again.

It's better if nobody knows about us.

(SCOFFS)

They ain't gonna hear it from me.

PRISONER: Oi, Wazza!

ALLIE: Hey. KAZ: Hey.

You two know what Franky was up to?

No, not a clue.

Franky takes Ferguson with her.

How the f*ck does that work?

Dunno. Maybe she didn't have a choice.

Hey... Franky gave me this before she left.

I've been hanging onto it and looking at it, thinking about her.

Where do you reckon she is right now?

Bermuda? Barbados?

Broad meadows? (CH UCKLES)

No, she's got a job to do.

She won't be going anywhere until it's done.

NEWSREADER: ..over the sh**ting m*rder of TV personality Mike Pennisi, while Ms Ferguson was said to be behind the m*rder of former inmate Bea Smith.

Serious questions are being asked about the security measures at Wentworth Correctional Centre, following a number of high-profile incidents over recent years.

Conservative lobbyists are calling on the Government to implement tougher restrictions...

Jesus! Gidge, what the f*ck happened?

Has anyone seen you? FRANKY: No!

Oh, f*ck! Wait, what's this?

It's nothing. |-| was rushing.

Franky, what the hell were you thinking?

I gotta keep moving. I was gonna ask you for a ride, but...

To where? |man's place.

Oh, Franky, this is crazy.

We've been over this. If the police...

If there was any evidence, they would have found it.

She's not a suspect. It's just me.

Now I'm gonna go down for m*rder if I don't do something.

We are gonna get another lawyer, OK? This is not the way...

It's not gonna make a difference! I need evidence.

And I'm not gonna find it sitting in a prison cell.

I wish you'd told me you were planning this.

You would have talked me out of it.

Where's Ferguson? I don't know. I never saw her.

Baby, where are you sleeping? Doesn't matter.

Is it safe? Is it... (KNOCK AT DOOR)

MAN: Ms Westfall, it's the police!

(MOUTHS WORD)

(DOOR OPENS)

Yeah, hi.

I'm Detective Collins. This is Detective Hydari.

Could we come in, please? Why?

COLLINS: We have some questions about the nature of your relationship with Francesca Doyle.

Oh, I can answer questions here.

We'd also like a look around. BRIDGET: Why's that?

We know you visited Doyle a number of times recently.

You care to explain why?

Because she needed psychological support.

None of your other ex-clients needed to see you. Why did she?

Well, I can't discuss her personal situation.

We're hunting an escaped criminal.

We don't have time for confidentiality bullshit.

It really would be better if you could just let us in.

HYDARI: Otherwise we might think you've got something to hide.

Do you have a search warrant? We could get one.

Oh, good, then you can get one. Ms Westfall...

Look, I'm sorry, I'm not gonna stand here and be spoken to like this - I need to rest.

So if you feel you need to search my house, then get a warrant.

Otherwise, don't waste my time.

Oh, Franky.

Oh, for f*ck's sake. (SIGHS)

VERA: You were close with Doyle.

(PHONES RING)

I think you knew what she was planning.

Now, I'm not expecting you to lag.

That is not why you're here.

I have reason to... believe an officer was involved.

ASSISTANT: I'm afraid the Governor is not in...

What can you tell me about that?

ASSISTANT: No, I'm afraid not. No.

VERA: You've protected an officer before over contraband.

Did the same officer help Doyle and Ferguson escape?

ASSISTANT: I'll pass that on, yes. OK, thank you.

VERA: Novak.

ASSISTANT: Wentworth Correctional Centre. May I help?

VERA: This is a very serious situation.

If you help me... I will advocate on your behalf.

I will see if I can get your sentence reduced.

Just tell me what you know.

ASSISTANT: OK, yes, if you could call back. Thank you.

Thank you. (PHONES CONTINUE RINGING)

I don't know anything.

P.A.: Attention, compound. Attention, compound.

PRISONER: So good to get that phone call!

Novak!

Where have you been? I've been looking for you.

What did the Governor want?

She thinks an officer was involved in the escape.

What did you tell her? Nothing.

(SIGHS) OK, good.

Wait! Oi!

I wanna know what happened.

I need to know that that... bitch is gone for good.

The job's done. You just need to keep quiet.

I want details. Did she suffer?

What?

I wanna know that she suffered.

I wanna hear about every last f*cking scream.

This conversation's over.

Ferguson's dead, OK? End of.

(INTENSE MUSIC)

Hey, Ms Miles? Ms Miles.

We still haven't heard nothin' about Sonia.

Like, can you... can you find out for us?

Sit down, Jenkins. No, f*ckin' tell me something!

Sit down. Sit down.

Oh, I'll f*ckin' sit... sit down.

Hey, Sonia wouldn't be dead or nothin', would she?

Like, 'cause they'd have to say, wouldn't they?

Yeah, of course they would. BOOMER: Yeah.

You don't look very worried.

Just eat your lunch, love. I'm not hungry.

Alright, I'm missing Franky too, alright?

Well, maybe she could come visit in disguise.

(PRISONERS CHEER AND CLAP)

Hey, Juice! How was hospital?

They glue your tongue back on? (PRISONERS LAUGH)

Sorry, what? Was that... was that, like, sign language?

'Cause I can speak that, yeah.

(PRISONERS GUFFAW)

(SIGHS HAPPILY) Hey, Sugar Tits.

Yep, that's me. Sweet and sour.

So, um, what's J Block like?

Oh, it's deadly.

We plait each other's hair and have all-night orgies.

Oh, yeah, we have orgies too.

Liz goes off.

MITCHELL: How did you sleep? Like sh*t.

That happens when you burn your mattress, ya dumb arse.

You want a f*ckin' fist in your mouth?

I got a big mouth. You wouldn't even touch the sides, mate.

(PRISONER GIGGLES) This chick here?

My f*ckin' prgperty, YOU got that?

Whatever. Leave her alone.

Why are you protecting her?

You f*ckin' her? PRISONER: Don't be stupid.

Look at my girlfriend again, I'll cut your throat.

MITCHELL: Here's a newsflash, babe.

I'm not interested in you or your drug-f*cked mum.

You f*cking c**t! Come here! KAZ: Oi!

Hey, hey! We're good, we're good.

I don't care how you do things in J Block.

When you're with us, you show each other some respect, got it?

I'm comin' for ya, dog. You touch her, answer to me.

Now get your food or get the f*ck out.

KAZ: Sit down.

You right?

f*ck off.

What the f*ck are you doin'? Ah, just lookin' for someone.

Who? That young Koori girl.

They said she was in this unit. Spike send ya?

Nah. Oh, yeah.

So what do you want her for? Newbie. Connected with the mob.

That's what we do. Oh, yeah, right.

Well, not sneaking around other people's cells is what we do, OK?

Got it.

Couldn't give a rat's arse about your girlfriend, Spike.

You think you're so f*ckin' funny.

With your wisecracks and your smart-arse comments.

(SCOFFS) Mints aren't cuttin' it for ya, mate?

Monte Carlos. Love 'em. Yeah, nearly out.

You know if you split 'em it's like you get twice the amount?

Piss off, Spike. Nah.

Nah, I don't think so.

Don't do this.

Not so f*ckin' funny anymore, are ya?

LIZ: Hello, hello.

Who's this? Rita... Connors.

Liz and Allie.

She lookin' for the black chick.

LIZ: Oh, Ruby? I think she's in the showers.

Great. Thanks.

f*ck me, it works. Hey?

Thanks!

OFFICER: Hey, this isn't a racetrack!

(BREATHES HEAVILY)

(BREATHES HEAVILY)

Oh, sh*t!

She's breathing.

Sit on the bed.

(WATER RUNS) Why the hell did you do that?

I don't know.

RITA: What do you mean? I can't remember.

What the f*ck's that supposed to mean?

I think my hand's broken.

Give me a look?

Knuckle's dislocated. Look at me.

Wiggle your toes. Why?

(GROANS) Ohh, f*ck! Shh, shh! Shhhh.

(WHIMPERS)

Shhh. Shhh.

Need to get some ice on that.

I don't need your help.

They find out it was you, they'll charge ya.

That nine-month stretch of yours will turn into bloody years.

They say you're called Connors now.

Rita Connors.

Lots of things have changed.

So what you in for?

Armed robbery. What, so you're a bikie now?

Yeah.

I made some pretty dumb choices.

Done a lot of things I regret.

P.A.: Attention, compound, attention, compound.

They found her. Oh, f*ck.

I'm rostered on in the laundry. They're gonna see my hands.

Code purple in the shower block.

(ALARM BLARES) RITA: Stretch it out.

Don't say a word to anyone, OK?

OK.

Go.

f*ck off.

(DOOR OPENS) (ALARM CONTINUES BLARING)

OFFICER: Out of the way. Nothin' to see here.

Coming through, coming through. LIZ: f*ck.

OFFICER: Out of the way. Who did that?

You tell me. Better still, tell the Governor.

KAZ: f*cking animals. Oi!

You know anything about that?

Nuh.

Don't you bullshit to me.

I couldn't give a sh*t about the crazy bitch.

(DARK MUSIC)

Argh! (TYRES SCREECH)

f*ck! (GROANS) f*ck.

(GROANS)

(GRUNTS) (SIREN WAILS, TYRES SCREECH)

sh*t. f*ck!

Oh!

(GROANS) (LOUD CRASH, SIREN WAILS)

RADCLIFFE: Hmm, this is a coincidence.

Your hand matches her face.

I told you, I fell down the stairs.

RADCLIFFE: Mm. I was supposed to finish 10 minutes ago.

Really? Yep. Where were you?

Uh, traffic.

RADCLIFFE: Oh, yeah, whatever.

Let's just go through this handover, OK?

(NURSES CHAT INDISTINCTLY)

Gotta make it quick. Got my shift in 20.

Where you working? Supermarket. It's the best.

I need to know something. About Vera.

She's a c**t. Next question?

How'd she get you to take the rap for Bea Smith?

She said my swipe card was used to let Smith into no-man's-land, which is f*ckin' bullshit.

She changed the records.

You got any proof? Yeah, yeah, yeah, loads.

That's why I'm wearing a pink vest and working night shift in Frankston.

What about the backup logs? Did she change those too?

Why are you so interested in what happened to me?

Vera's trying to shaft me too.

WOMAN: Yeah, so it was really good. it went really well.

(PEOPLE CHATTER)

(LOCK BUZZES, DOOR OPENS)

MAN: Yeah, no, I saw it. It was, hey. It was over there.

(LAUGHTER)

(MAN CHUCKLES) OFFICER: Oi!

No contact, Connors.

I've missed you, babe.

Sprained it. Yeah, on someone's face.

I'm fine. Honest.

Sit down.

What the f*ck happened back there?

I'm so sorry. It was an easy job.

A smash and grab.

I get the gear and you went back for the cash.

I mean, it's a cleaner's, not a f*ckin' bank.

I wasn't thinking. (MAN SIGHS)

Would have come back for you. The... cops tailed me for 30 kay.

How long you in this dump for? Dunno.

Court won't be for a month or two.

Oh, Jesus. How's everyone else?

Worried.

Turf w*r's hotting up.

The Butchers know we knocked off their gear?

They'll work it out.

Jesus, Reet, why did you have to be so careless?

(SNIFFS) I miss you.

LIZ: Thank you, Tanya.

Hey, Liz? Can you please take over?

(RUBY SIGHS)

You OK? Yeah.

Who taught you how to fold, Stevie Wonder?

Edges gotta be crisp, like this.

It's hotel laundry. Who gives a sh*t?

If you're gonna do something, you do it right.

That's what my dad always said. OK, Mary Poppins.

OK, ladies, listen up!

Some good news from the hospital.

Sonia's off the critical list.

Oh! So that... that means she's gonna be OK, doesn't it?

Well, doctors reckon that she was poisoned with liquid nicotine and that's why she collapsed.

What?

KAZ: I'll find out who did that, and there'|| be repercussions.

Same with Spike Baxter. She was att*cked in the showers today.

PRISONER: Oh, sh*t!

Now, my rules are pretty straightforward, but some people can't get them through their thick heads.

Anyone who commits an act of v*olence against another prisoner will pay the price.

And I mean they will f*ckin' pay.

Things have changed around here.

Spread the word.

Sonia was poisoned. Yeah, I heard.

Who the hell would do that? Dunno.

But when I find them, gonna break their f*ckin' neck.

(DARK, RHYTHMIC MUSIC)

FRANKY: Ah! Oh, f*ck you!

(MUSIC CONTINUES)

(PRESS HISSES) (LOCK BEEPS, DOOR OPENS)

New inmates for the work unit.

You can show 'em the ropes.

(LOCK BEEPS)

Are you well enough to work?

I asked 'em to let me out.

I need to do something.

First you're gonna tell me who did that to your face.

I fell in the shower. KAZ: Try again.

Was it her?

Clearly you two had issues in J Block.

(YELLS) Was it?

It was me. She's f*ckin' r*cist.

She'll tell ya. I did it.

Yeah.

(SIGHS) OK. You're new.

Maybe you didn't know the rules.

But I'm gonna make an example of you.

Girls.

Not the steam press.

Put her hand under here.

(SOMBRE MUSIC)

KAZ: Everybody, watch and learn.

(SEWING MACHINE WHIRRS)

(MUSIC INTENSIFIES)

(GROANS) f*ck!

(MOANS)

FRANKY: It's gotta be somewhere here.

Come on!

(GRUNTS)

(DOG BARKS)

(FAST-PACED PERCUSSIVE MUSIC)

sh*t!

Oh! (CLOSES LID)

(MOROSE MUSIC)

Argh!

(GROANS)

(SIREN WAILS)

(DOOR OPENS) Well, that was stupid.

You're welcome. I don't need you to protect me.

You shouldn't be in here, Ru.

You're a smart, young, beautiful black woman with a whole future ahead of you.

I had a future.

I know. And I'm sorry.

Apologies mean jack sh*t.

They don't change anything.

I had to leave to take the heat off you mob.

I ran to the other side of the bloody country.

But I never forgot about ya.

You were with me the whole way, every step.

Then I heard you were in here, and I had to see you.

So I got myself arrested. Are you f*ckin' serious?

I put myself in Wentworth to be with you.

Normal people f*ckin' visit. You wouldn't have seen me.

I know I let you down, Ru, but I swear it won't happen again.

No, no, no, you can't put that sh*t onto me.

I don't even want you here. Well, tough, 'cause here I am.

You stay the f*ck away from me.

As far as I'm concerned, my sister's dead.

We know you're in there!

You got five seconds or we're coming in!

(BREATHES SHAKILY)

OFFICER: We don't want anyone getting hurt.

Open up! This is your last chance or we're coming in.

(LOUD BANG, GLASS SMASHES) Don't move! Don't move!

Put your hands where I can see them!

MAN: You've got the wrong guy! I haven't done anything!

This is harassment! Jesus!

OFFICER: Come on, Rhys, trafficking dr*gs.

You're not obliged to say or do anything.

RHYS: I haven't done anything! f*ckin' hell.

OFFICER: If you don't stop struggling...

RHYS: This is harassment. Let me go!

(EXHALES AND SNIFFS)

Mr J? Police wanna talk to you.

(STAMMERS) What? Oh, is this about Franky again?

No, they wanna ask you some questions about Sonia Stevens.

What sort of questions?

Look, just a heads-up, Jenkins, OK?

Don't try and bullshit your way out of this, OK? It's on CCTV.

What is? You giving Sonia the tea.

They know she was poisoned.

Wasn't me.

It's on CCTV. Nah, I never poisoned no-one.

OK, you can tell that to the cops. Come on, let's go.

(LOCK BEEPS)

(LOCK BEEPS)

VERA: What the hell are you doing?

What's on that stick? Hand it over now.

No. Fine. You are fired.

And I'm calling in the CSDS to go through your personal property.

You don't wanna do that.

I might not have the evidence yet that you helped Ferguson but I'm willing to test your word against mine.

I've got evidence of my own.

These backups prove you let Bea Smith into no-man's-land and show you falsified records to frame Officer Murphy.

It's all there in black and white.

Could end your career. (HANGS UP PHONE)

Might even get you locked up.

That's my insurance.

SONG:
I broke my neck
Dancing to the edge of the world, babe
My mouth is wet
Don't you forget it
Don't you lose me
Here is your princess
And here is the horizon
Here is your princess
And here is the horizon...

FRANKY: f*ck!

(TRAIN CLATTERS BY)
I've gotta scratch it down
I never could amount
That's it, babe
And now the sugar's run out
And I don't know what to say

Say again
This place

Say again
This place
Here is your princess
And here is the horizon...
