06x17 - Crash

Post by bunniefuu »

Hard to imagine.

Ghost ship, floating
in the North Atlantic

All the crew dead,
no visible cause of death.

- Nigel's convince it's aliens.
- How do you know he's wrong?

Either way, I don't think we're
gonna solve a mystery mid-flight.

I just wish this storm hadn't
kicked us off the ship

before we finished autopsy and trace.

But it did.

And it's gonna get worse.
Captain says we need to strap in.

Well, he is in charge.

A little chilly in here.

So how you liking your vacation so far?

Who needs Tuscany when you got
a mass casualty operation?

You've been on these
DMORT missions before.

You ever seen anything like this?

Mostly it's plane crashes,
things like Katrina.

But this one...

- You don't really think it's...
- Pirates maybe.

Pirates steal to billion dollars
from maritime shipping each year.

You find an eye-patch or something?

, containers on that ship. The
blackguards could have taken anything.

Probably m*rder*d the crew.

You find cause of death, Nigel?

'Cause we got one guy back
there who was sh*t,

and no one else has a mark on them.
Just dead.

So unless your pirates have
some kind of stealth ray...

- I'm just saying.
- Just give it a rest.

Flying is safer than driving a car.

Flying is safer than driving a car.

Sorry about the rough ride.

Captain Seaver and I are trying
to fly around the storm,

but she's not having it.

Use this if you got to.
We have one rule at DMORT.

You make a mess, you gotta clean it up
before you leave the plane.

See y'all in Boston.

Flying is safer than driving a car.

Getting rough up here.

Oh, God. And I love to fly.

- See, that surprises me.
- Why?

- You like to be in control.
- Guess it forces me to let go.

Nothing I can do, right?

Strike took out the flight computer.

We're blind. Engine
number two is running away.

Temp's over redline.

Just an air pocket. That's all.

The has two engines.
Don't worry about it.

If one of them goes out, they'll switch
it off long before the expl*si*n.

We can always fly on one.

What's going on?!

Hydraulics A is gone.

We're only gonna have
half-flaps, no spoilers.

Everybody get in crash position.
We're making an emergency landing.

Everybody brace! Brace!

Woody.
Woody!

- I'm all right. I'm all right.
- Oh, my God.

Bug?
Hey, Bug.

Lily?

No, Bug. It's me.
We're on the plane.

- I'm freezing.
- I know.

We should be dead.

Crash landing in a storm.
We should be...

- little, tiny bits.
- Nigel... your arm.

Garret, Garret.

- What is it?
- I'm just banged up. How are we?

Is everybody accounted for?

The FBI agents are gone.
I don't know where the pilots are.

- And, uh...
- Kate. Kate!

Kate!

Where the hell are we?

So many dead.

of the crew members
on this cargo ship are dead.

How?

Coast Guard got an automated
distress signal.

Spotted the Venezia adrift off
the coast of Nova Scotia.

When they boarded, they said
it looked like a "ghost ship. "

- Oh, my God.
- There are two survivors?

Both critical. One is like the
dead... not a scratch on him.

The other has a g*nsh*t
wound to the head

but there was no g*n found on board.

So someone came on board
and m*rder*d the entire crew?

That's what we've gotta find out.

The Coast Guard's towing
the ship to Eastport

and keeping everyone off it until
cause of death can be determined.

I'm putting together the response
team for DMORT.

- You're putting the team together?
- Yes, and you're drafted.

You're meeting Woody at Boston General
to take trace off the survivors.

Doctors on site said their white counts
are normal. It's not viral or bacterial.

- g*nsh*t should've been the first clue.
- Yeah. They're being airlifted in.

We have to find out what
k*lled the men on that ship.

And who. I'll get Madeleine
from Bug, get out of your way.

Oh, hey, make sure those are marked
and on the loading dock.

I'm fine going to the hospital.
But how is this your DMORT?

He didn't tell you, did he?

You were just gonna fly off
to Tuscany for six weeks

and leave me here to find out
you put Kate in charge?

- I was gonna tell you.
- When?

- Look, you've had a helluva year.
- So what?

You hate running things, Jordan.

- The paperwork, the headaches.
- So do you!

How could you not have
the guts to tell me?

I'm sorry.

Okay, your pulse is good.

There are no major lacerations,
but this leg is pinned.

Got a plane full of doctors.
We'll patch you up.

Too bad you can't do the same
for the radio. It's fried.

- Does anyone have cell reception?
- No.

- You okay?
- I'm doing fine.

At least, I will be when they find us.

Any idea when they're gonna find us?

Problem is, the lightning
took out navigation.

We went off radar.
We're hundreds of miles off-course,

somewhere in the White Mountains.

They're probably searching
for us already.

I've read about crashes up here.

Late ' s, there were two doctors
in a Piper that...went down.

Massive air and ground search. Still
took months for them to find the crash.

- Must you?
Turns out, the doctors

survived for four days
before the cold got to them.

- At night, temperatures drop.
- That was a long time ago.

In , a plane went down
in these mountains.

It wasn't found for three years.

And besides, Dave's right.
We're hundreds of miles off-course.

Well, you two are a load of fun.

There's a reason I hate flying.

There's a homing beacon
or something, right?

An emergency locator transmitter, yeah.

But it might take a while
with the storm.

- It's gonna be dark soon.
- And freezing.

And a lot of our supplies have gone.

We've got no food, no blankets.

We're gonna have to patch up
these holes if we want to stay warm.

And those bodies need to be kept cold.

- Helluva way to preserve a body.
- Helluva day.

Once we get the plane sealed,
I'll work on starting a fire

for a signal and for warmth.

You're a real Boy Scout.

I used to go hunting
with my dad and Calvin.

Wisconsin during
deer season is damn cold.

You doing okay?

We're alive right.

You're too late.
He d*ed five minutes ago.

From the g*nsh*t?

No, the wound is superficial.
That's not what k*lled him.

- Any idea what did?
- Isn't that what you're here for?

How is he doing?

Respiratory failure,
convulsions every few minutes.

His plasma and RBC enzymes
are in the toilet, and he's bradycardic.

Heart and lungs are shutting down.

Hang in there, Mr. Bakar.

Kita harus hentikan mereka!

Kita harus hentikan mereka!

What is he saying?

We have a Malaysian osteopath
who came about a half hour ago.

It means, "We have to stop them. "

"Them?" Did he say who "them" was?

No, this is all he keeps saying.

Kita harus hentikan mereka!

You think it'll last the night?

We should be fine as long as we
stay together, keep each other warm.

God, if there's a punch line to that,
I'm not in the mood.

Trust me. I'm keep everything covered.

- You all right?
- I'm just tired.

- You got any kids?
- A son.

Got a picture?

Carter's obsessed with superheroes.

- He loves to play Batman.
- And I'll bet you're Robin, right?

Alfred, the butler.

You know, Madeleine's still working
on squeezing my finger.

The pain bad?

Not so much.

- Do you have any pictures of Madeleine?
- No.

Maddy. Maddy-paddy.

"Stop them, stop them. "
Who could "them" be?

And what did they do to those men?

Come on, sweet girl. You can do it.
Smile for Uncle Nige.

Maybe they used some kind
of radiation or poison.

Yeah, but how would they circulate it?

She's smiling! Look!
Look, look, look! Hi.

- Are you sure that's not gas?
- Hey.

Hey, she smiled.
Yeah. Nigel saw it. Just tell her.

Yeah, well, she...

Hey, I got the Venezia's
crew list and manifest.

Great, let me see.

Okay, Gronning Defense,
Fujati Electronics, New Gen Aerospace...

Any indication what
containers were raided?

Well, as far as the
Coast Guard can tell, no.

But until we determine cause of death,

they're staying the hell off it
and towing it to port.

crewmen were on board when
they left the last port in Aberdeen.

- So they're all accounted for.
- And all dead.

The guy in the hospital... Bakar...
he didn't make it.

We've gotta find out
what k*lled these men.

I right, I need all hands
on this DMORT now.

Nigel, Bug, you're on the team.
Wheels up in four hours.

Guess you won't be able to put
Madeleine to bed tonight, huh?

Jordan!

What's wrong?

I got up to rekindle the fire.

Dave must've gotten up
in the middle of the night.

Come out to the fire to stay warm.

Maybe he fell asleep.
The fire went out.

He froze to death.

We should say a few words.

Dave was a good man.

Brave.

He was a hell of a flyer...

to put us down with
as little damage as he did.

Kate, you wanna say something?

I didn't know the man.

Still, you can say something.

"Hell of a flyer"?

How about, Dave crashed us
into this god forsaken

mountain and then he froze to death.

- And any one of us could be next.
- That's enough!

Nobody else is gonna die.
We're gonna get out of this.

Dave, has a son.

Carter.

Four years old.

Wants to be a pilot just like his dad.

Dr. Macy's right.

We're gonna get outta here

if only to tell Carter
how his father saved us.

Two chocolate Kisses.
Nige, you got anything?

Five pork rinds and three mint strips.

Pork rinds aren't food.

And mint strips are?
Throw 'em into the pile.

I'm gonna need to go
get some more dry wood.

One thing at a time.

Bug, you got any food?

I got some raisins. And I could've sworn
I had some crackers.

- Hey, Kate, any delicacies?
- Nothing.

She has to have something.

No, I don't.

Hey, fork it over. I saw you put
something in your mouth before.

Xanax, all right? Have at it.

Not much, is it?

All right. Well, there's
always the crewmen.

This isn't the Donner Party.
We're not eating each other.

I meant their pockets.

Couple of granola bars.

- A tin of sour lemon candies.
- Add it to the foodstores.

I wish we could get him out of here.

You realize that we have
next to nothing...

divided by six.

Well, it'll have to do
until the rescue comes, won't it?

Listen, Garret.

About my outburst...

I was out of line.

I think the line's off
the table out here.

People are gonna start to get hungry
and hunger makes people crazy.

So I'll be the food monitor.

- No one cares who's in charge, Kate.
- No, it's not about that.

It's just they're gonna hate
whoever's guarding the food.

And most of them hate me already, so...

It'll be easier this way.

I feel like a grave robber.

We need this stuff more than they do.

Hey!
Beef jerky... still sealed.

Lives cut short.

It's funny.
You know, I thought after my surgery,

I'd actually been given
a little more time.

Come on, Jordan.
You're gonna have time for everything.

Okay. Okay, when we get back,

I am gonna travel.

Yeah, maybe Africa.

You know, go on safari.
I've always wanted to do that.

ey, Woody.

This guy... he's Zaki Hamberi.

Hamberi.

I thought the b*llet
wasn't the cause of death.

It's not. It's just weird.
I mean, where's the slug?

Maybe they took it out at the hospital

or the K*llers took it out
to cover their tracks.

- Any luck with the I.D.?
- Yeah.

He's one of the ship's engineers.
Zaki Hamberi.

So the guy in the morgue was trying
to pass himself off as Hamberi.

Let's check the other guys.

Hey, this is weird.

Something's melted the snow
around this guy's boots.

You okay?

What? You find what k*lled them?

No. It's expl*sives.

The white powder on his boots
is ammonium nitrate.

That could be a lot of things.

Yeah, but his hands reek of diesel fuel.

That and ammonium nitrate
are the makings of a b*mb.

Like what they used in Oklahoma City.

You think we're talking t*rrorists?

- They took expl*sives off that ship.
- To blow up what?

Hiking over here was a mistake. Survival
rule number one. Never leave the crash.

No, survival rule number one
is to survive.

We need to find dry wood
so we can keep the fire going

- so no on else freezes to death.
- Yeah, these twigs aren't gonna help.

Maybe there's fuel around this engine.

We could soak a cloth.

Yeah, and maybe the wizard will appear,
tell us to click our heels three times,

- and we'll wake up back in Kansas.
- Actually, it's Glinda.

- What?
- Who sent Dorothy home.

So when you relay that story
to Lily's little princess,

you should at least get it right.

Sorry. Bug!

You're insane.

You said it yourself. No sign of
arteriosclerosis of the heart.

No problems in the lungs. Everything
looks normal. Nothing on the tox screen.

I have read anecdotal accounts
of ships being overcome

by high-powered electromagnetic
pulses to disable the crew.

Uh-huh, and is this by
your aliens or by your pirates?

No. people locked up without
a struggle. You got a better theory?

You know, until we get on that ship...

Yeah, I, um...
I don't think I'm gonna go.

Look, I put my name on that DMORT
list a long time ago.

Yeah, I remember.

You know, when you talked me into it,

you said it was important for people
to step up in times of cris.

Well, things were different then.
It matters if I'm gone.

t doesn't matter if I'm gone?

That's not what I meant.

Someone or something k*lled
all the men on that ship.

This man d*ed telling us
we have to stop them.

So we do.

Lily and Madeleine need me here.

And the rest of us...

need you on that DMORT.

I thought we were a team.

Bug, sorry, mate.

It's the FBI agent, isn't it?

Bloody hell.

What?

It's the emergency locator transmitter.

Isn't it supposed to survive
a plane crash?

We're hundreds of miles
from where we should be.

Nobody's coming.

I'll hike down the mountain, get help.

It could you take days to find someone,
even if you could get down.

- You'll freeze to death.
- We're freezing to death up here.

We can't do nothing if t*rrorists k*lled
the crew, took the expl*sives.

We need to stop them.
We need to stay together.

Air traffic knows we went down.
They'll find us.

How? The ELT is dead.

If they had any idea where we were,
they'd would've been here by now.

I'll fix it.

We've got wires,

- some parts from the cockpit.
- Great. We crashed with MacGyver.

The transmitter still works.
It's the amplifier that's crushed.

Well, that's like saying the stereo
works but you have no speakers.

Yeah, but we have cell phones.

The cell phones didn't work up here.
We tried.

Yes, but cell phones use
radio frequency amplifiers.

If we g*ng the amplifiers together,
we can adjust the frequency modulator.

It's fixed?

The signal will be weak.

We'd have to get it up the mountain,
find a clear line of sight

to ping a satellite, but...

You sure you know what you're doing?

Bug, help him put it together.
The rest of us, get the bodies in there.

Let's start trace.

- Now?
- Hey, we gotta do something.

Well, the locked in the bunkroom
all have sunken eyes.

Poor skin turgor.

And abnormally high levels
of sodium and chloride.

They were being deprived of water.

- Probably starved for days.
- Prisoners.

I think these five are t*rrorists.
They're not locked up, not dehydrated.

They all have a trace
of expl*sive on them.

And four of your five bodies weren't
even supposed to be on that boat.

Their prints do not match
the crew manifest.

Well, what about the fifth?

Well, this guy's prints areon the
manifest. Wira Kim, the navigator.

Well, if he's with them,

chances are he's the one who
let the t*rrorists on board.

The "inside man. "

So what are you planning to blow up?

- Be careful.
- You can do better?

Okay.
Now fire up a cell phone.

We need to match it's
frequency with the ELT.

We'll use the steady frequency
mixer to drain the voltage.

- No, that'll drain too many volts.
- I know what I'm doing, Bug!

We need to use the
amplification modulator.

- The mixer works on a different board!
- You're gonna drain too much!

Guy, guys, guys.
Which way is gonna work?

- You positive?
- Yeah.

Dammit.

No... static means
we've got a radio signal.

Now we've just got to get it another
thousand feet up the mountain.

Malaysian magazines, Malaysian books,
letters. The Koran.

We could be staring the answer straight
in the face. We wouldt even know it.

I got something in English here.

Charlestown Bridge. Dimensions...

notations on structural load.

- They're gonna blow it up.
- Yeah.

Sunday. The Patriot's Day Parade.

It goes right across
the Charlestown Bridge on Sunday.

Unless we get outta here.

Garret! Garret, Garret!

His pulse is thready.

Internal bleeding.

Hold on, Garret. We'll take care of it.
It's gonna be okay.

It has to be.

- Okay, this should help.
- Yeah.

The broken rib must have
lacerated the spleen.

The peritoneal cavity's
filling up with blood.

- And this pressure should slow it down.
- Yeah.

Might buy me a few extra hours.

Jordan.

Bug and I are gonna take the
transmitter, hike up the mountain, now.

You gotta be kidding. It's pitch black.

You guys could fall off a cliff.
You could freeze to death.

What other choice do we have?

You really are a Boy Scout, aren't you?

Troop .

If you die out there, I'll k*ll you.

If you can clear the peak,
get up above the treeline maybe,

'cause the battery's
not gonna hold for long.

Yeah, I know, Nigel.

Maybe I should come with you.

You've got one arm.

They need you here...

in case.

Let me go with Woody.

You've got a little girl back at home.
And I made you come.

I'll go.

She's right.

You should stay.

At least for Madeleine's sake.

That's why I'm going.

For her.

Sorry I pressured you to come.

What I said about Madeleine...

I'm happy for ya, you know.

We're a team.

I, uh, appreciate the offer.

- You ready?
- Yeah.

- Look, Kate...
- Yeah, I know it's not much of a snack,

- but we have to prepare for the worst.
- No, no. It's not that.

I'm not hungry.

I didn't mean...

I didn't mean to imply that I was okay
with you going out there instead of Bug.

If it was you out there...

I'd be just as worried.

Do you think they'll find us?

Yeah.

I'm just, uh...

I'm not sure about the timing.

What are you doing?

Our inside man...
something's not right.

- Look, you're not supposed to move.
- Well, what do you want me to do?

Just... just curl up and wait to die?

Don't say that.
Don't even... go there.

You're the strongest person I know.

I couldn't have gotten through
this last year without you.

I have no intention of dying up here.

And you and I have some
unfinished business.

You need to know why I chose Kate.

- You told me...
- And I lied.

The truth is... I don't think
you should be in charge, ever.

You're an agitator.

You're a real pain in the ass who
pushes the system, pushes all of us.

And without you doing that,
I wouldn't be half as good.

None of us would.

- You think that's a farewell speech?
- No.

Good, 'cause it's not.

Garret!

It's okay. It's all right.
I'm okay.

- You smell that?
- Yeah.

It smells like vapor rub.

Yeah, like it expelled from
his lungs when I leaned on him.

Oh, my God.

Soman.
That's what k*lled the crew.

It was a dirty b*mb.

They weren't just gonna
blow up the Charlestown Bridge.

They were gonna release nerve gas.

k*lling a few thousand
people isn't enough?

Well, it's concentrated on his hands.
He's the one who let it loose.

So he was a su1c1de bomber.

W- Wait.

If they were planning on blowing up
the bridge, reeking havoc on Boston...

Why k*ll themselves
in the middle of the ocean?

- Oh! Bug, come on.
- I'm fine. I'm fine.

You think we're going the right way?

It feels like we're going up.

Let's take a minute. Catch our breath.

- I'm fine.
- A minute won't k*ll us!

No, but it might k*ll Dr. Macy.

- No! No, no, no!
- Bug!

Let me try the transmitter now.

Whoa, whoa. We're not high enough
and this wall will block the signal.

So we just let Dr. Macy die?

We try it... now.

Right in here. Ready?
Okay.

Okay. Say when.

Okay, now!

- This is DMORT flight .
- No, no, no.

- Don't... Don't you dare. Don't you...
- What? What happened?

It's dead.

They'll be fine.

They're extremely resourceful.

Aren't I the one who should be
reassuring you?

So I think I figured something out.
I, uh...

I took this before from Wira Kim's
pocket, and it has blood on it.

An Allen wrench?

Remember the crew member back at
the morgue who was sh*t in the head?

Yeah, the imposter.

We didn't find a b*llet in his skull
because it wasn't a b*llet hole.

This is roughly the same
diameter as a. .

So Wira Kim att*cked the imposter.
But why?

I mean...
He's one of the t*rrorists, right?

Maybe he's not.

Maybe there was no inside man.

t*rrorists board the ship,
they round up the crew...

lock them up.
All except for two.

Bakar, the first officer,
and Kim, the navigator.

They needed them to run the ship.

And Bakar and Kim
figured out their plan.

They were gonna sail into Boston,
blow up the Charlestown Bridge.

k*ll thousands of people.

"We have to stop them. "

Hentikan mereka!

And they did.

Sacrificed themselves
by setting off that Soman.

It was United .

They knew they were gonna die in the
blast. And they decided that...

how you die matters.

They're back!

You did it!

They did it.

No way up.

so we tried it anyway, but...

It d*ed, Nige.
The transmitter didn't work.

Woody, I don't know
what's gonna happen up here.

But, uh, there's something
I have to say.

Just so you know, uh...

- I love you.
- Jordan.

I'm not asking for anything here.
I just, you know, uh...

I just don't want it left unsaid.

It feels like my whole life, you know,
I've been so focused on death, you know.

My mom, my job, and, uh...

I think I've just been afraid
of really living. You know?

They found us!

- Garret! Garret, you hear that?
- Yeah.

They found us.

- Help me up. Come on.
- Hey, come on.

You've all ready been heroic
enough, okay? Stay still.

Jordan, thank you for coming back...

from L.A., you know...

when I needed you.

No.
No, I needed you.
