A lot can happen in seven years.

[Rick grunting]

But in Riverdale, the more things change...

That was...

That was hot, yeah.

Hey, I'm Rick.

- Come on, no names.

See ya.

[Rick]

Yeah.

[Rick sighs]

- Hello.

- Hey.

Hey, babe.

How was the store?

I had to go to a couple different places, but I got regular milk, oat milk, almond milk and two varieties of sugary cereals.

You're the best, Kev.

I'm sorry about all these crazy cravings.

- It's all good.

- Are you okay?

Totally.

Not nervous about the big announcement?

Not at all.

Why would I be?

Okay, you ready?

Mr. Jones, I'm an anthropologist with an interest in extraterrestrial phenomena, not a psychologist.

But in the majority of cases like you're describing, when a person claims to have had a close encounter, they are, in fact, often repressing a traumatic experience.

You said in the majority of cases.

What about the other ones?

The other cases, I believe they're telling the truth.

If you'd like, I can perhaps help you determine what you're dealing with here.

There's a support group I lead...

I want you to be happy.

Good.

Because I might know a way that you can help me with that.

Wait, I...

I need to tell you something.

Betty and I, we didn't hook up after the key party, but we...

we have hooked up a few times since we got back to Riverdale.

I wondered about that.

What was it?

Just two lost lonely souls

- looking for a connection?

- Something like that.

We're just friends is the truth.

I thought you should know.

The way I see it, the past is in the past.

I'm only interested in what we want.

Now.

In the present.

- Polly.

- Betty, you have to help me.

I'm at some pay phone in the middle of nowhere.

- Where?

Where are you?

- I don't know.

I ran as fast as I could, you have to come get me.

- I'm on the highway.

- The Lonely Highway?

- Yeah.

Yes, it looks like it.

- What?

[Betty]

Here's what we're gonna do.

I'm gonna hang up, you're gonna call me back on my cell, okay?

Mom and I are about to get in the car.
