I bought it, and I'm giving it to you.

JEFF: Nolan Jamison.

You're working on

Whenever I've needed you,

that Kirby is strong enough

That's great. What's the bad news?

We have to tell her about Anders.

(SIGHS) Right. That's definitely bad.

And we have to do that today?

Well, first we said

Hey, uh, I'm having second thoughts

about the whole dumpster thing.

I think I may stop there
on the way home.

I... I'll talk to you later.

WOMAN: My father, who founded
the Designer Institute,

has been an inspiration
to me throughout my life.

Without his unconditional
love and support,

I wouldn't be here today
to give all of you...

What's the matter?

Where's my water bottle?

I left a water right there,

- next to my bag.
- Here's a new one.

I don't want that water,
I want my water!

What?

What?

Wait a minute, give me that.

This is vodka.

You've been drinking vodka all night?

Well, yeah, it's a party.

What did you think I was
drinking, apple juice?

We thought you were drinking water

because you said you were
drinking water, like, six times.

It's not a big deal. I knew
you guys would overreact.

It is a big deal.

You just spent two weeks
in a coma, not on vacation.

We were worried, and
now we're more worried.

What are you doing here
when you need to be out there?

I can't do it.

- That is not an option.
- Don't yell at me.

- No, stop yelling at her.
- Don't yell at her.

What am I doing here?

I didn't even get to say
good-bye to my father.

I just want to go home.

Are you kidding me? Come on, young lady.

- No, please!
- FALLON: Kirby!

- SAM: Watch out.

- I'm fine.

Can everyone just leave me alone?

You were pushing her so hard.

I told you she wasn't ready for this.

Maybe we should take this
conversation into the hall.

(SCOFFS) Please.

We could be under the covers

You were stage-mommying so hard.

Even for you it was aggressive.

I just wanted to help Kirby be okay.

And now she's dealt with Anders' death,

just like the rest of us;
she should thank me, really.

Have you dealt with it?

Because you haven't mentioned
it since the funeral.

Dr. Bridges.

Did you have a chance to review my data?

That-That's what I thought.

I agree. I-I think this could be
a huge breakthrough for me,

and maybe the world.

There are some promising new
developments at the hospital.

I'd like to see them through,
because if things work out,

let's just say you won't be the

Can't argue with that.

I know it's a risk.

get me in the door,

on building a better relationship.

Not at all. No.

Good luck.

Sales are booming

after my Hot Tea Atlanta
appearance earlier this evening.

See? You think a billboard
would have done that?

So, how much did you pay
the Hot Tea Atlanta reporter

- to interview me?
- I didn't pay the reporter.

So it was a coincidence
that you saw the show,

and the reporter suddenly
took an interest

in who I was wearing?

I don't get what's so
important about this man.

There are a million ways for you to
make your company more efficient.

That's not what this is about.

Then what is it about?

You want honesty?

I had a vision on that

I'm worried about this planet.

So I want to build a rocket
and send it into space.

There's resources on other
planets that can benefit us.

It sounds crazy, I know.

Which is why I haven't told you.

- Or anyone else.
- But other people are trying to do this.

- It's not crazy.
- Yeah, but those people

are the same three billionaires
that everyone knows.

A Black billionaire doing this is
a whole different conversation.

I just lost the one scientist I
needed to make this a reality.

I mean, our resources are limited.

There's overpopulation, there's...

I'm on a high. Don't bring me down.

The problems are overwhelming,
I know, but I want to fix them.

And the scientist
doesn't like your ideas?

He doesn't know about the rocket part.

If he doesn't know your dream...

how can he help you get there?

Okay. Well, I miss you.

I'll talk to you tomorrow.

ANDERS: Fallon, I know you can do this.

I've been aware of how special
you are since you could first walk.

even with the same outcome.

Thank you, Kirby.

Now, go get dressed.

We have to go somewhere.

NOLAN: So you want to
send a rocket into space?

Yes. And I want to build
it so it can be manned.

Now I see why you needed Korosh,

because of his background
in frozen fuels,

which your ex-wife obviously
told you was my company's focus

after our date a couple weeks ago.

Look, man, you won fair and square.

I just wanted you to know
it's not a game to me.

I'm looking to make an
impact on the world.

Why didn't you tell me
this in the first place?

I don't like sending

- I get that.

Besides, someone needs
to shut Elon Musk up.

(BOTH LAUGH)

Hey, why don't you join me, huh?

Two billionaires are better than one.

Thanks, I'll pass.

I enjoyed the competition,
but I don't need Korosh,

and clearly you do.

So what's the next step?

I head to Washington and
ask Congress for funding.

You're gonna hear a lot of noes.

Then I'll fund it myself.

Be careful.

There were times when I
was building my company

that I had two weeks before I
completely ran out of money.

Actually, that was when
things were most fun.

(CHUCKLES)

But put something away
offshore, just in case.

So now what?

Now I take a shower, and
never speak of the time

I climbed into a dumpster again.

Then I have to get this to Leo

Why didn't we just do that first?

Because I've never had to deal
with a problem like this before.

- Geez.
- I need a drink.

"Mr. Jones, a package for me
was delivered a few days ago

to the club instead of the hotel."

What's that?

Packs of it."

Which would look like...

Did I really just pack five to
seven years' worth of worry lines

into two days because of a box of flour?

I ate a half a box of doughnuts.

Okay, it was a whole box.
Look, we need to do something.

Garth Wheeler.

He's been indicted

The deal's off.

The land has been designated

Blake, I'm so sorry. Maybe we can...

Mitch says it's done.

So you'll find land in

- Location is everything.

This location.

This is my punishment for
doing things the right way.

KIRBY: This spot's so peaceful.

My dad would like it.

FALLON: The trees remind
me of that weekend,

you know, when we took that camping trip

with our Girl Scout troop.

Anders had to step in
when my mother realized

chaperoning meant it
would be a dry weekend.

I remember.

It was the first time he had s'mores,

and he loved them. (SNIFFLES)

He always made them for
me when I had a bad day.

He said s'mores can get
you through anything.

Well, s'mores and a
pocketknife. (CHUCKLES)

He really was obsessed with
us learning survival skills.

We got our merit badges that weekend.

He was so proud.

I always thought I'd have more
time to make him proud again.

I can't believe I missed his funeral.

I feel so guilty.

Is that why you've been drinking?

I'm really sorry, Kirby.

I guess I just didn't want to face
the fact that you were struggling.

It's okay.

I need to take responsibility, too.

- Can I, uh...
- Oh, yeah, yeah. Of course.

(SNIFFLES)

You know, grief is a
useless emotion, Kirby.

- But I still feel it.
- There are no merit badges for guilt.

I could maybe get you one for moving on

and taking care of yourself.

So you're not mad?

Every time we have an argument,

we always come back together again.

This would have been the same.

You'll always be my daughter.

We just ran out of time on this one.

Now go live a big, beautiful life.

And get yourself a pocketknife.

I'm a mess.

I'm sorry, you just weren't
