he'’s already dead.

Dead from a round that
was meant for me.

And when a
Blackhawk shows up,

somebody'’s yelling
at me to go.

And I can'’t.
I'’m holding onto him.

And they'’re pulling me.

And I'’m screaming,
"That'’s me! That is me!"

They don'’t even know
what I'’m talking about.

- I'’m so sorry.

- I'’ll see you later.

- You had a change of heart.

- I'’m hearing you out.

So, uh, how are Wendy
and the Lost Boys?

Is there anybody left?

- I can leave.

- Come on.

So, look, I'’ve been
doing this a long time.

And when a talented young woman
joins up with a bunch of guys,

it follows a certain
trajectory which you

may be discovering on
an accelerated timeline.

- Thanks for the insight.

- Yeah. All I'’m saying is that
you might as well

spare everybody the drama of
the long slow goodbye.

You go solo right now,

I'’ll put you with
my best producers

and PR people in my stable

to get your music out
there in the world.

We'’ll have your first album
out in six months

have you on tour
within a year.

And to convince you
of my sincerity...

And you get that whether or not
you ever sell a single album.

So, you know, think about it.

Sean?

- Hey, I'’m here!

- Hey, um...

I'’m so sorry I pushed you.

I didn'’t know
what you'’d been through.

If you wanna live out
your days here to get away

from people and have some
peace, you deserve to.

- It'’s okay.
I'’ll keep singing.

- '’Cause Scarlett
told me I had to.

- Oh, come on, dude.
Shut up.

- Well, you said I can'’t
keep living in the past.

I have no idea how to do that.

But, obviously, you are right.

- I don'’t wanna be right.

I just want you to have
something good in your life.

- You tell me something.

- I told you,
I never wanted it.

Not like you.

- I don'’t believe you.

- No.

Matter of fact, I think
you'’re living in the past.

- Thanks for coming over.
- Hey, yeah.

Sorry I got frustrated
the other day.

- No, no. You had every
reason to be frustrated.

Listen, Deacon,
I can'’t solve this.

- Okay. Well, I told you
I'’d pay for a lawyer.

- And I'’m beholden
to you for that.

But I can'’t put
Jake on the stand.

And more than that,
I can'’t take the chance...

- That you'’d lose him.

- Yeah. I literally don'’t
think he could...

he'’d survive it.

We just... stop?

- I think so, yeah.

- I don'’t wanna.
- Neither do I.

Maybe we could just
pretend to stop.

- Yeah.

- Mm-hmm.

- I mean, it'’s nobody's
business, is it?

- It'’s not.

- But you'’d have
to lie to your girls.

- You'’d have to lie to Jake.

We'’d have to ask him
to lie for us.

- It'’s not fair.

- I'’m sorry.

- No. You didn'’t do anything.

- I did. I kind of did.
- My life is such a mess.

I'’m sorry I ever
met that man!

- Come here, come here.
- Oh, Deacon...

- We'’ll see what
happens, all right?

- Okay.
- Maybe something'’ll change.

I'’m gonna go.
- I'’m so sorry.

I'’m sorry for everything.

- No, Jessie.

I'’m gonna go.
We'’ll talk.

I'’ll call you.

- Gunnar! Come on!

Gunnar! Come on, man!

Gunnar, open the door.

You'’re up.

- Two, one, we'’re on.

- Welcome back to "Nashville'’s
Next Country Star".

Say hello to our
youngest contestant!

- She looks so beautiful.

- Well, hello there, darlin'’.
What'’s your name?

- Daphne Conrad.

- I'’m 14 years old.

- Yes, 14.

- What are you gonna sing
for us today, Daphne?

- A song that I wrote
for my mom.

It'’s called "Memories Crash".

What inspired you
to write that?

- Well, my mom
passed last year.

And I'’ve just been
really missing her. So...

I thought it'’d
be nice to just show her

how I'’ve been feeling.

- She'’s okay.

- You know, that'’s
beautiful, Daphne.

Did she play
at all herself?

- Yes.

Um, my mom was Rayna James.

- Now I'’m just...
Wait a minute, wait.

The Rayna James?

I guess we'’re in for some
kind of a treat today, huh?

All right, Daphne, honey,
whenever you'’re ready.

Go on.
