AUSTIN: Proximal filling
defects in the pulmonary artery.

It's consistent with
thromboembolic

pulmonary hypertension.

- Uh, what's that?
- Uh, blood clots

in the artery that leads
from your heart to your lungs.

That's why you're
having trouble breathing.

AUSTIN: Based on these images,

these clots could
be a few months old.

IRVING: They could
have started last April.

That's when he had an
urgent spine surgery here

followed by COVID-19.

What happens now?

Well, based on your husband's
hemodynamic instability,

we should plan for surgery
to remove the clots as soon
