Street Fighter: Assassin's Fist (2014)

Post by bunniefuu »

Shoryuken!

This morning's training

is going to be a little different.

Damn straight.

It's about frickin' time he taught us how to do that.

After your morning routine,

you will trek to the waterfalls.

Meditate there until sun is high.

Got that?

This is bullshit.

Can't hear you.

But Sensei...

You have something to say?

No.

Come on, Ryu.

Thousand yen says I b*at your ass to the lake.

But don't you still owe me from last time?

Oh, yeah?

Watch me clear that debt now.

This summer marks the thirteenth year

that I have been teaching the life skills

and the combative techniques of the martial arts

to my students.

Oh, Ryu! Good morning.

Their level of physical conditioning

and strength already surpasses that of many grown men

who would consider themselves strong.

But I must confess: I have hesitated in taking them

to the most advanced stages of Ansatsuken techniques.

Ryu! You're looking strong today.

Is that because you brought your girlfriend?

Heh. He's on to you.

Old bastard.

Ryu!

I'm writing you a song.
Wait a bit longer.

Okay, Ken, you
heard Goken-sensei.

Let's move.

You can forget Goken

and you can forget going all the way to the damn falls.

Watch your mouth, Ken.

Or what, Ryu?

You gonna throw me a b*at down?

I'm serious.

Ryu, I'm bored.

We're not going anywhere

and I've got nothing to gain by staying here.

It's the same routine day after day.

He's got us jumping through hoops to teach us Hado

and still he doesn't give it up.

In time, Ken,
I'm sure that he...

Last time I went home I realized

the world is passing me by out there.

This is your home.

Not any more.

Goken, the Dojo, this mountain,
Japan. I'm done with it.

He can't keep me here.
I'm gonna tell him I'm going.

At least you have a home to escape to.

A father and friends waiting for you.

All I have is
Goken-sensei, the Dojo...

...and you.

Ryu, you're practically family.
You could come with me.

One day I'd like nothing more,

but right now this is my home...

...as it is yours, until
training is complete.

Look, just...

Give it some thought before you make a rash decision.

Okay.

But I think my mind's pretty made up.

Now, please, let's go to the waterfalls.

If not for
Goken-sensei or yourself...

...then do it for me.

Oh, it's just the stupid foreigner.

If you're a man, show me the evidence.

No? Try not to worry about it!

Ryu has been under my tuition

since year one, and Ken for the last seven.

Good, Ryu.

Your techniques are getting stronger.

Let's leave it there for today.

It looks like they've arrived.

Goken, how are you?

It has been a long time.

It's real good to see you.

Ken, don't be rude.
Get out the car.

Go to hell!

Don't push me, Ken.

Ken arrived here

under the most difficult of circumstances.

The loss of his mother, a close friend of mine,

was hard on both father and son.

The company's in trouble. I'm losing my grip.

With Yuki gone, Ken's gone off the rails.

It is difficult for a child to come to terms with it.

He is filled with anger, so it is only natural

that those closest to him get the brunt of it.

I just can't get through to him any more.

He's been expelled for fighting three times.

The police have been involved.

I'm losing him.

I believe a problem shared is a problem halved.

I'm here for Ken and I'm here for you.

Go back, seek balance and save your company.

When the time is right,

your son will return to you and
your bond will grow stronger.

Deal?

Deal!

Here. These are from my dad.

Zank you berry much.

Ha! You've seriously
gotta work on your English.

Come on!

Ryu! What are you doing?

Attaboy, Ryu!
Don't let him push you around.

Naughty boy.

It's fine, he needed checking.

After their uneasy beginnings,

these two boys have formed a great friendship.

A special bond through years of training together.

They now regard each other as brothers.

I'm going through with it.
I'm gonna tell him.

Goken-sensei...

Master, we are ready.

We are ready to take our training to the next level.

I think it is time you taught
us the techniques of the Hado.

I'll be the judge of that.

But humor me, what makes you think you are?

We have risen to every challenge you have set us.

Recently, I believe I have been
able to tap into my Ki flow.

If what you say is true,

then indeed you may be ready to channel Hado.

But how can I be sure?

Test us, Shisho.

As you wish.

Describe to me the sensation of your Ki flow.

At first it was a challenge to
block out the world around me.

But I quickly learned to detach,

becoming aware of only a sensation within.

I can only describe it as a cool wave that seems to

pulse throughout my body.

A sensation that is both
everywhere and nowhere.

And you, Ken?

Huh?

What he said, basically.

Is that it?

Except the "cool wave" part.

My Ki, if that's what I'm feeling,

is warm - even
hot some days.

Very good, my boys!

The detached state which you described is Mu no Hado,

the "Power of Nothingness."

So your training in Hado begins.

You'll assemble in Dojo after
lunch! Two p.m. sharp!

Now go to your studies.

He says get here sharp and he's late?

He tricked us.

What did I tell you, Ryu?

Don't be like that, Ken.

Might not be a trick.
Could be a test.

Yeah, well you think everything's a test.

Look.

What is that?

"If you think you are ready,
come and find me."

Man, nothin's ever easy, is it?

Okay. "X" marks the spot,
so where the hell is this?

I don't know.

Here's the lake. We are here.

All right, let's go.

Where'd the jeep go?

Senzo, where's Goken-sensei?

Gone.

When's he coming back?

Well...

Well...well, what?

This is a long hike.

Maybe even a couple of days.

Ken, we need to prepare ourselves.

Oh, man...

Well, if you don't wanna go, it's fine.

I'll just go on my own.

Ryu, you probably wouldn't make it on your own.

Better come and make sure you don't get into trouble.

Finally, some civilization.

Ryu, we're definitely checking out this town on the way.

What town?

This one.
By that US m*llitary base.

We have a mission to complete, remember?

Are you taking this seriously or not?

Look, I'm just trying to broaden your horizons.

I was wondering, when you might arrive.

Hello.

Hello.

Impressed we found you?

I had no doubt.

Master, what is this place?

This is where I came from.

Fire! Fire!

Fire! Fire! Fire! Fire!

Fire? Fire?

Where?

There's no fire, man, he tricked us.

Now that you are both awake,

it is time you greeted and paid your respects

to Soke Gotetsu-sensei.

Dress appropriately and I'll see you outside.

Master, how did Gotetsu die?

The death of a warrior.
In combat.

By knowing where we have come from,

we can better shape where we are going.

You both now hold the torch
that Soke Gotetsu-sensei once carried.

Pay your respects to him.

Goken-sensei?

Are you there?

Goken?

Goken. Check you out.

You're young.

So this must be your room.

Satsui no Hado...

A murderous intent.

Ken?

Ken, what are you doing in here?

You do realize that
we're not supposed to...

Yeah, man, I know, we're not supposed to be in here.

I'm leaving anyway.

Whoa, Ken.

There's Shiso.

I know, right.

So who's this guy?

That must be his brother Goki.

I never even knew he had a brother.

There are a lot of things that you

and even I don't know about him.

Gotetsu.

Ansatsuken style

teaches three principal special techniques

to generate Hado with devastating effect.

Tatsumaki Senpu-kyaku,

Shoryuken,

and Hadoken!

The Shoryuken:

One must generate a sudden surge of Ki energy

in the muscles of your legs.

This Hado will allow your muscles to contract

with extraordinary force,

propelling you
high into the air.

Whilst doing this you must simultaneously concentrate

on a separate surge of Ki into your punching fist.

As it reaches the moment of impact,

the Hado consolidated into your fist

will make it nearly indestructible for that moment

with the ability to punch through solid granite.

Shoryuken.

Dammit!

Sensei

You make the Hado in your Shoryuken

look so easy and instant.
What's the secret?

Secret?

Goken-sensei, it takes us time to achieve

the "Power of Nothingness" sitting still.

How are you able to do so instantly and in motion?

Practice, patience and focus.

Mu no Hado, the "Power of Nothingness"

is a difficult skill to grasp and even harder to master.

It is certainly a more difficult route to take

to unlock the power of Hado,

but a purer one.

Are you saying there's another way to manifest Hado?

There is a chinese proverb that goes:

"There are many paths to the top of the mountain,

but the view is always the same."

I learned this from a great Kung Fu master

by the name of Gen

with whom I fought and
exchanged the knowledge

many years ago,

during my "Musha Shugyo".

"Musha Shugyo"?

"Warrior's Pilgrimage."

It was he who set me on the path towards Mu no Hado.

Wait a second.

So you mean you already knew a
different way to manifest Hado?

A more traditional way?

The most deadly Ansatsuken techniques

can only be achieved by embracing Satsui no Hado

and focusing it upon your opponent,

through your mind, body, Ki and technique.

So that you not only strike your target,

but aim to obliterate it!

Understood Goken?

Yes!

Understood Goki?

Yes!

Then begin!

- Shoryuken!
- Shoryuken!

Sensei.

Goken-sensei?

We have talked enough about Hado for one day.

Both of you go and cool off.

There is a waterfall not far from here.

Yeah, man, I saw it on the map.

Come on, no complaints here.

From now on, when you fight, put aside friendship,

you must see only an adversary, who must be overcome.

Understood?

Understood?!

Yes.

Follow me!

Now...

Face one another!

Fight!

Shoryuken!

Ahh!

Come on, Ryu!

Ahh!

Tatsumaki!

Stop!

You okay, bro?

I went a little crazy.
I really put in there.

Sorry, man.

Ken, you did well.
Do not be sorry.

You have done Ryu a big favor today.

He will one day be grateful for that

powerful strike you b*at him with.

Ryu, with focus and skill you landed some critical strikes

on the over-eager Ken.

But you hesitated.

Why?

Right, Ryu, on your feet.
Ken, help him up.

A great warrior knows how to take mighty blow

as well as deliver one.

Right, Ken, since you are the victor today,

I offer you a reward.

Pick one of the three training dummies over there.

Huh?

Pick one!

But, Sensei, I thought training was finished for today.

Pick one now or do I have to pick one for you?

Okay, fine. That one
in the middle, I guess.

Now, watch closely.

Hadoken!

Holy sh*t!

Wow.

This is only the beginning.

Your fighting spirits are strong,

your techniques fierce!

I encourage ferocious att*ck and belligerent defense.

These are the cornerstones of Ansatsuken.

Stop!

You may well be worthy of the title "warrior" one day.

Yes.

You are still beginners in the
Ansatsuken k*lling techniques

of Satsui no Hado.

You are both forbidden to practice this

without my permission.

The consequences could be grave.

I'm sure we can handle it.

Then you'll handle being dead!

Betray me at your own risk.

Yes.

Master.

My own brother, my last surviving Ansatsuken rival,

lost his mind, driven mad by abuse of Satsui no Hado.

No one knows if he's dead or alive.

It is important that you purge your Ki

of Satsui no Hado after use.

Through your meditation you must cleanse your minds and bodies.

Understood?

- Yes.
- Yes.

Look to the In-Yo.

Hey bro, you checked out all these names?

The history of Ansatsuken.

It's an honor for us to also leave our mark here.

Wow...

Gotetsu.

Goken.

Dan?

Goki...

Goken-sensei's brother.

So why is it backward?

Seems like the more time we spend here,

the more questions arise.

Yeah. Like who the hell's Dan?

Hado...

Stop!

Focus, be calm. Will your Ki to surge into your fists.

Begin!

Hado...

You are rushing, Ken.

Mu no Hado cannot be forced into release

by anger and frustration. Quite the opposite.

Hadoken!

sh*t!

How are you supposed to stay calm and without anger

in the middle of a fight?

Ken! 50 push-ups now!

Yes

Good Ryu, you are close.

Drive your Ki into your hands. Try this.

This allows me to concentrate the Ki flow into my hands

before stepping into stance.

You see?

Amazing!

Come on.

I felt it!

You are on the right path.

Well done, man.

Ken, would you like me to show you the Kata?

No, it's okay. I saw it. Thanks.

It's working.

Hey, Ryu. Watch and learn.

Whoa!

Ken, how did you do that?

Ken! Inside now!

Sensei

Close the door!

You see that? It was huge.

I-I couldn't hold on...

I saw.

Where did you learn that Kata for Hadoken? Not from me.

It just came to me. I'm...I'm a natural, I guess.

You would be unwise to lie to me.

Okay then, let's talk about Satsui no Hado.

Means nothing to me.

Who's lying now?

Ken...Where did you get this?

Satsui no Hado is not something you want to be part of.

I'm telling you from experience, Ken!

It gets results. I can handle it, you just saw me.

Indeed.

Even with your crude and basic understanding of this transcript

you generated Hado.

Satsui no Hado is unstable.

It can turn on you in dark ways you can't even imagine.

You must trust me, Ken.

Okay.

Have you spoken of this to Ryu?

No.

Good. Promise you will never speak of Satsui no Hado to him.

I promise.

Okay. You and Ryu take the rest of the day off.

We could all do with a break.

You can go.

Goki.

What do you think you're doing?

You know we are forbidden to look over Master's scrolls!

What if he catches you?

Let him.

I don't care.

What the hell is up with you lately?

Stop now,

or I will come over there and you will be sorry.

Interesting.

I'd love to see you try!

Thought so.

I won't wait any longer.

Why shouldn't we learn all there is to know about Satsui no Hado?

Do you really think Master won't find out?

Just look at you, Goki!

You can't control it anymore.

You hold back if you want to,

but I intend to reach my full potential!

You'd be foolish to stand in my way.

I am sure the two of you have

many questions and I believe you've earned

the right to some answers.

Go ahead, what would you like to know?

Well, start at the beginning:

How did you come to be in this place?

A student of Ansatsuken?

Believe it, or not,

like you, I had a life before this Dojo.

But, sadly, most of my memories are of the w*r.

My mother was k*lled during a raid on Yokohama.

Those were dark times.

My father was a captain in the Imperial Army.

He served under Gotetsu, a Major at that time.

They were close friends.

Gotetsu was the last of the truly old masters.

Born of another century, forced into modern times.

The battle for lwo-Jima claimed my father's life.

After the w*r, Gotetsu returned to reclaim his ancestral Dojo.

In his absence it had been entrusted to his vassal,

Senzo, and his niece, Sayaka.

Uncle!

Sayaka!

As a debt of honor to my father,

Gotetsu adopted my brother and me.

It was here that my journey in Ansatsuken began.

Gotetsu had only two students - me and my brother Goki.

k*lling blow.

Again.

Summon your own Ki,

like an army, to unleash hell and destruction!

Traditional Ansatsuken is a k*lling art

developed for one purpose.

What became of Goki?

Yeah, how come you've never mentioned him before?

He, like my Master,

is dead.

But Shisho, I...

Enough answers for now.

It's late. Go inside, get some rest, both of you.

Go.

Goodnight, Master.

Goodnight.

Stop!

Ryu! What's up with you?

What? I dunno.

Bad dream.

Why are you dressed?

Because, my friend, we're hitting the town.

What do you mean?

Yes.

No way.

- Ryu...
- Bad idea.

This is the perfect kind of establishment for our needs.

Your needs, perhaps, not mine.

Have you got my back? Yes or no?

Always.

Good. Now, do you trust me?

Not completely, no.

One out of two, that's good enough.

What's his problem?

Sensei is not going to like this.

What he doesn't know is not gonna hurt him.

We shouldn't be here.

We aren't even old enough to drink.

Hey, Ryu!

Ken. You need to see this.

No, bro, you need to see this.

Excuse me.

What?

Watch the door.

Sounds like a street fight to me.

Wait, wait, wait!

What are you doing here?

Did you come to fight?

We're spectating. Right, Ken?

Yeah.

Hmmmmm... I know a fighter when I see one,

but you're just spectating.

1000 yen each.

Hey, mister, no problem.

5000 yen each to fight.

We just want to watch.

Wow!

Welcome to Ono's Fighting Tournament.

It's not for the faint-hearted.

This is what I'm talking about, Ryu.

Come on! Come on, get him!

Ooohhh!

He's big but he lacks technique.

Hey, Johnson. We got ourselves

a couple of Karate Kids running their mouths.

Who are you calling kid?

Ten thousand says I lay you out in the ring.

Ken! What are you doing?

Don't worry.

But fifteen grand says my boy here

takes out your champ over there first.

Come on, Ryu.

It's your funeral, boy.

It's okay, Ryu, you got this guy.

- I do?
- Yeah, man, just...

...finish him quick, before he kills you.

No holding back. Come on!

Hey. Sarge!

Here comes a new challenger!

Round One. Fight!

Whoa.

Well, go get him!

Yeah!

Well, that escalated quickly.

You think?

Thanks, guys.

We should toast.

Bartender. Two sh*ts of your strongest stuff.

To Ansatsuken.

To Ansatsuken.

One, two, three.

Disgusting!

I can't breathe.

Ahh!

Stupid foreigner! Ha, ha, ha!

You're underage, you're underage.

Okay, Ken, time to go.

Stupid foreigner!

Was Goken even here last night?

I don't know.

I'm in no condition to train.

Come on, you had fun.

...solve it...

Good.

Dad?

Ken!

Dad. What the hell are you doing here?

Can't a man come visit his old friend?

Hi, Ryu. How are you doing?

Good, thank you, sir.

No, seriously. Dad, why are you here?

I'm here for you, Ken.

No, man.

You don't just come visit. What's going on?

Walk with me.

Let's talk.

Good morning, Master.

Good morning.

Looks like you had a rough night.

Yes.

Master, why is Ken's father really here?

He wants his son to come home.

Is Ken leaving?

That is for Ken to decide.

You can never just

meet me halfway, can you?

That's because I'm nothing but an afterthought to you.

Let's cut the crap, Dad.

You're here because of the company, aren't you?

That's all you ever...

It doesn't mean anything...

...unless you have someone to give it to.

What do you say? Come on.

It's time to come home. Huh?

I wanna start making up for lost time.

Here.

Thanks.

Hell of a view.

So are you staying or are you leaving?

I know your father came here to take you home.

You know...for the
longest time I hated my dad.

I never understood why he left me here after my mom d*ed.

I was too young and spoiled to appreciate it.

But I get it now.

He started building something.

Something he had to
finish no matter what.

For my mom, for himself and ultimately for me.

So you said you'd go with him?

No.

I said thank you.

Thank you for bringing me here.

Here I've been able to start
building something for myself,

that, like him,
I have to finish.

He and the company can wait a little while longer.

For now, till training's finished, this is my home.

And you and Goken-sensei are my family.

I'm proud of you, Ken.

You made a brave choice.

The right one.

Thanks.

Oh, yeah.

My dad said he started boxing again.

- Really?
- Yeah.

Said it helped him get back on top of things.

He's gonna give us a couple of pointers before he leaves.

You up for it?

- Yeah.
- All right, man, let's do it.

Hold on.

One more thing.

Does this place give you a strange feeling?

Like how?

Like a strange Ki hanging around here.

Not really.

You take dr*gs last night?

Huh?

You having those weird trances again?

My dreams have been strange lately.

I'll tell you this much.

Goken-sensei hasn't told us half of what happened here.

Forward slip.

And back.

Left. Left.

Okay, again.

No, you need to get loose.

On your toes, bounce. Okay, again.

One, two, three, four...

Okay? Get ready. I'm coming.

One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight. Good.

Free flow! Ryu, let him have it.

Nice! Good work.

Thanks, Dad.

Oh no, not again...

Goki?

Goki?

What are you doing?

Remember to take your time, Goki.

Like in your training,

it takes a lot of skill and precision.

Yes.

Goki, practice your English.

Calligraphy is as much about feeling as Hado.

Oh.

Let me see, Goken.

Very swift and controlled.

Great student.

I had a great teacher.

Would you like to keep it?

Oh, thank you.

It's beautifully written, isn't it, Goki?

We have some time off later.

I would like to take you somewhere special

and show you my inspiration.

I'm done.

"Metsu"

Begin!

Stop!

Ahhh...

Shoryuken!

Goken!

Uncle!

Ahhh...

Hadoken!

Tatsumaki Senpu-kyaku!

Goken, no!

Stop it.

Goki! In the Dojo now!

Kneel.

Was your intention to k*ll your brother?

You have become undisciplined and insubordinate.

Those traits have no place in this Dojo.

You will apologize to your brother.

What am I apologizing for?

"To achieve one's true potential,

one must bring everything to the fight

and not hold back under any circumstance."

Is this not the true teachings of Ansatsuken?

You have betrayed me.

You read the scrolls?

Am I not allowed?

Goki...

Do not test my mercy.

Please calm down.

You're scaring me!

He doesn't know what he is messing with.

Satsui no Hado?

He can't control it.

It's poisoning him.

It is too dangerous.

It will be okay. Uncle just wants to talk to him...

No!

You just don't get it, do you?

Something must be done, I'm going to intervene.

Are you mad?

What are you able to do?

Go to your room and stay there until this is resolved.

You fool!

I can't sit around and do nothing but watch

while this family falls apart.

I'm not asking you,

I'm telling you.

If something happens to Goki, I can't ignore it.

I think you've done quite enough for him.

What's that supposed to mean?

Goken, join us.

Enough talk.

Go to your room.

Goki.

Will you leave here?

Once you decide, there is no turning back!

Understood?

Master...

Brother...

I'm sorry...

This is the end for you and me as we know it.

Goki, what do you mean?

You are my brother, my only flesh and blood,

but also my greatest adversary.

Since we began learning Ansatsuken,

we unknowingly became part of a legacy.

I know now,

that our destinies are defined by it.

Master is trying to protect you from the truth.

Be quiet!

A truth he knows is inevitable.

There can only ever be

one true living Master of Ansatsuken at any one time.

Silence!

Master is old, he will soon be gone, leaving just you and me.

Sooner or later, brother or not, we will have to...

Stop!

That's enough!

You have chosen your own path.

Before the sun sets, gather your belongings and leave this place.

For if you return,

it will not be as a student, or family,

but as an enemy!

Understood?!

I understand.

I thank you for raising me as your own

and for taking me this far in my training.

I am honored that you chose me as your student.

It has not been in vain.

One day I will make you proud.

Until we meet again...

...in> this life...or the next.

Master, please wait.

Is there no other way?

It is decided.

But...

Goki?

Sayaka-san...

What are you doing here?

What has Goki done to you?

Where is he?

How could things get to this point?

He is your brother!

How could you let this happen?!

It was not my fault.

The stubborn fool has done this himself.

Master has made his decision.

You'll find Goki outside.

Goki!

What did you say to Sayaka?

I merely told her the truth.

Our destinies are set

and it's now time for me to leave.

Sooner or later you are going to have to face the same truth.

A time will come when...

Goki, stop! Just shut up! That's enough!

Master is right. Satsui no Hado is clouding your judgment!

You can't think straight.

Despite what Master says, and what you have done here today,

you are still my brother

and I don't want you to go.

Let me help you and I will beg Master to reconsider.

Goken, come back into the Dojo.

Goki...

...is leaving now.

Now!

I guess this is it then.

Yes.

Until the day our paths are destined to cross again.

Goodbye, Goken.

Train hard and stay strong.

The perfect Hado technique

ultimately requires two opposite components.

First, to generate stable Hado in an instant,

you must use the "Power of Nothingness."

But to deliver it with power and accuracy,

requires intense aggression and the desire

to overcome and destroy.

Understand?

Yes.

Your aim is to knock your opponent down with Hadoken.

Begin!

Hold up.

But if I hit Ryu and k*ll him,

I'm not gonna be held responsible, right?

So confident. Let's see you try.

Ha...

Hado...

...ken!

What the hell?!

Good, Ken. Concentrate.

Ryu, don't let him b*at you. Answer back.

Strive for Shinku. I know it is within you.

Hado...

Ryu, throw it!

What are you waiting for?!

Where the hell are you going, man?

What are you so afraid of?!

In his own time. Let him be.

He has returned.

Are you lost, stranger?

No more lost than you are.

Who are you?

Are you from the monastery?

I am not important...

...but he might be...

This little one I found wandering in the woods.

My duty here is done.

He goes with you now.

Huh?!

Hello, my child. What is your name?

It will take more than that, my friend.

If he has a voice, I couldn't find it. In time maybe you will.

I know why you don't speak.

You keep your emotions locked deep inside,

so no one can hurt you again.

In time, I will teach you to open up and free your Ki.

There is a strength deep within you.

I have felt it.

Your Ki is powerful,

rising like a dragon.

Ryu.

Ryu! Be strong...

Be strong.

Hado...

Ryu, throw it!

...ken!

sh*t! Ken!

Sensei!

Goken-sensei!

What happened?

My Hadoken...

Ken, Ken...

Ken, can you hear me?

His Ki flow is disrupted.

Ha!

Ahh! What the f*ck?!

Get off me! Get off me!

Okay.

Okay, Ken.

What the hell was that?!

Sensei just brought you back to life.

Okay, okay.

You can defend against Hado att*cks using Mu no Hado.

You use your own Ki to repel the enemy's att*ck.

It will still hurt,

but it could be the difference
between being knocked out cold,

or still in a fight.

Well that would have been good to know last night.

Shisho, you were saying?

Actually, this lesson can wait.

I remember, we need more water. There is a creek down there.

We'll continue, when you return. Go!

Get going!

So you popped your Hado cherry.

How do you feel?

I'm okay.

How's your arm?

Man, shut up.

I'll throw a Hadoken and you see how you like it.

Ken, stop.

It's this way.

You got like this sixth sense all of a sudden,

like you've been here before.

I think I have...a long time ago.

What is it?

Listen.

To what? I don't hear anything.

Exactly. The birds have stopped.

That's weird.

You can feel that?

Yeah.

Something's wrong.

We should go back.

Yeah.

I knew one day you would come for the old man.

I have long awaited this moment.

I came here for Master...

...not you.

His time ended, when I sent him to Hell.

Embrace your destiny.

I already have.

Then face me!

My path is different to yours!

I do not wish to fight you.

I walk my own path.

There can be only one Ansatsuken Master.

I once believed that k*lling you would bring me peace

from the anguish you brought on this house,

but I realized long ago,

that the path you walk, the path of m*rder,

can never lead to peace and enlightenment.

You have no choice in your true destiny.

You are wrong! There is always choice.

I took an oath to never again use Satsui no Hado.

If you want the title of Ansatsuken Master, then have it.

I will not fight you.

Pitiful.

Get on your knees and swear your subservience,

then I will spare you,

or else prepare to join the old man in Hell!

Goken-sensei!

Sensei!

No! Stay where you are!

Master?

Stop!

You dare deceive me?

First, I will put your cubs down.

They are not your concern.

Fine.

I will fight you,

but today is not that day.

Now leave this place!

When the time is perfect, you will know.

Well then, I shall be waiting.

Goken, the day we next meet will be the last for one of us.

I promise you.

That writing on his back.Master, who was that?

That is the man who k*lled my Master.

"On the field of battle, there is no friend or foe,

no room for compassion,

merely an opponent before you who must be destroyed."

Such is the essence of Ansatsuken.

I am a veteran of the last great w*r of our time.

What do you know of w*r?

Ansatsuken was birthed

from the blood, fire and m*ssacre of feudal times.

You cannot follow its words literally.

You will never understand.

It is for this reason,

I kept the full contents of the scrolls from Goken and you.

Why?

It is the only way I can reach my full potential.

The Shun Goku Satsu,

the pinnacle of mastery of Satsui no Hado, is not a myth!

Why?

To protect Goken and you!

Look at you.

Your body is twisted by the power of Satsui no Hado.

Yet you think you can master its greatest prize?

You fool!

I thank you for raising me as your own

and for taking me this far in my training.

I am honored that you chose me as your student.

Goki, what is it? I heard you all shouting in there.

I'm leaving.

What happened?

You know very well.

It's time for me to go.

Go where?

Don't say that.

It's okay. Talk to me.

Don't...

Don't make this any harder for me than it already is!

We both knew this day would come.

It is destiny that today's events would unfold.

I have crossed the point of no return.

Master has given me an ultimatum

and I have chosen my path.

Sayaka...

I wish more than anything that I could stay with you,

but this is a path I must walk alone,

the path of the true warrior,

the Shin Oni.

Yes.

Goki!

What did you say to Sayaka?

I found her in pieces.

I merely told her the truth.

Whatever our Master says,

Whatever you do...

Goki!

Here.

This is for you.

Something to eat on your journey.

Thank you.

You're too kind to me.

Go back to the house.

You have to,

before they think you are running away with me.

I know...

But I have one more thing to give you.

Heaven?

It represents immortal glory.

The person you are striving to be.

I think it will help you see clearly your journey's goal.

This is my parting gift to you.

Farewell, Goki.

I hope you've chosen the right path.

It's perfect.

The path of the Shin Oni drives me.

I shall not rest until Dark Hado is mine.

I know you don't want to hear it,

but maybe your uncle is right.

I miss him too,

but no one has seen or heard anything for months.

So you think we should just give up?

Just forget him?

Even if we could find Goki,

when he left he had made up his mind,

he was at peace with his decision.

I still feel you should have done more.

I know you care for him. I do, too,

but don't forget he tried to k*ll me!

He has chosen a path, which no one can follow him on.

We have to accept it, and move on.

This stops now.

Uncle.

What do you mean?

You know what.

You are hindering Goken's training.

How can you all be so heartless?

I'm not getting in the way of Goken's training.

You are still enamored with Goki.

I'm just worried about Goki.

Shame on you!

You think I didn't know about you two?

What matters now is helping Goken.

Thinking about Goki ends now!

Think of him as dead.

Understand?

Yes.

It is time.

Aaahhh...

Metsu...Hadoken!

Goki was corrupted by Satsui no Hado.

I'm not sure whether the ends justify the means.

The risk seems too high a price.

Is there not any other way to manifest Hado?

Am I not living proof that one can balance

the darkness with light?

A master's teachings are not to be followed blindly.

Ideas evolve with the times.

Centuries ago Ansatsuken was a young man's game,

the greatest masters were either destroyed in battle

or consumed by the madness.

They never lived past their 40s.

I came to the conclusion that to have longevity in this art

one must balance these extremes.

This harmony is what the In-Yo represents to me.

For in all life there must be balance.

So you agree there must be other avenues to explore in Hado?

You must make your own path.

Yes, Master.

Wha... what?

My...face.

Master.

You were right.

No, not yet.

I have no choice.

I must become stronger.

Hadoken!

Nature provides all that I need.

For two years I have trained in nothing but Satsui no Hado.

Strengthening my body day by day, in preparation.

Hadoken!

I've been speaking to Master.

My training under him is coming to an end.

He has advised me to go on the "Musha Shugyo".

You're leaving?

Not for a while, I still have much to learn

and

this is where my heart is.

When I return, I will be the Master of this House.

I want you with me, Sayaka.

What did my uncle say?

He thinks it will be good for us.

I see.

First you must take the "Musha Shugyo" alone,

as Goki did.

I'm not like him.

Just promise me

you'll come back.

First you look through here

and this button here, you press to take a picture.

I know that part. I'm not stupid.

It represents immortal glory.

The person you are striving to be.

Farewell, Goki.

One day I'll make you proud.

Until we meet again...

In this life...

...or the next.

To conquer Dark Hado,

I must immerse myself in a state

of Satsui no Hado until we become one.

If my spirit is strong enough, I may survive,

and if not, the process could consume me, and be my end.

I'll pay the price gladly.

Master?

May I speak with you?

Last night, I felt something strange.

I must have been dreaming...

Go on.

I think I felt Satsui no Hado.

I prayed that this day would never come.

Beyond the mountains, deep in the valley,

I felt a great power never felt before.

An expl*si*n of Dark Hado.

That of Goki.

Are you sure?

He hasn't been heard from for over two years.

Goki had ambitions of unlocking the power of Dark Hado

and ultimately, the Shun Goku Satsu.

You taught us, that such a thing was myth.

Unlocking it would require such focus of Satsui no Hado

that one would become completely consumed by it.

No one has ever survived it.

It may well have been the death of Goki...

...or the birth of something legendary.

Something more darkly powerful, than I have ever encountered.

The birth of an Akuma.

So what happens now?

I don't know, but if it is an Akuma,

he will come.

One Master must seek out another and destroy him.

It is the nature of Satsui no Hado.

I must face him.

Master!

I'll face him. Let me.

It is my destiny to face the Akuma.

I created him,

so I must destroy him.

If I fail, then I fear

the balance I have sought to maintain in Ansatsuken

will be lost and darkness will fall.

Goken,

look after Sayaka.

Yes, Master.

You must take charge of these scrolls.

Master, I can't.

I understand your reservations about Satsui no Hado,

but do not be naive.

Goki doesn't know everything written in the scrolls.

Should you ever have to face him,

you will need the full knowledge in all the scrolls.

Master,

have you felt anything over the past few nights?

No, nothing unusual.

So...

You think Goki didn't survive?

Come, let us spar.

Let me see, if I've taught you well enough,

to stand up to an old man like me.

Stop!

Walk with me.

Let's see, if I can remember a word of English.

I'm proud of you, Goken.

I could not have asked for a more diligent,

hardworking student.

I pass on to you not only my knowledge of combat,

but also that of life.

Likewise.

I could not have asked for a better Sensei,

or father.

I know you will strive to find the right balance.

I think the time has come.

Embark on your "Musha Shugyo".

Yes, Sensei. I will not disappoint you.

Akuma, I feel your dark presence.

Come forth and show yourself.

You survived this long.

I see you have been hard at work.

Yes, old man,

your time is over.

This is the end.

Is that so?

Tonight, there will be m*rder!

Prepare yourself!

Ahh!

Goken, what is it?

Stay here!

Hadoken!

Goken, what's going on?

- Hadoken!
- Hadoken!

Is it Goki?

Yes.

Goken!

Master!

Go-Hado!

Tatsumaki Senpu-kyaku!

Go-Shoryu!

Tatsumaki!

Senpuu Kyaku!

Metsu!

Go-Shoryu!

Metsu...

Prepare yourself.

...Hadoken!

One instant, a thousand strikes!

This is annihilation.

You were a great master

and even through your defeat you have taught me much,

Shin Oni...

but now a new Master is born.

Goki! What have you done?

Stop, damn you!

Fight me!

Aaahhh!

You are not ready.

Goken, stop please!

For many days after...I was lost.

Completely unsure of what to do.

We laid my master to rest here,

but that was the end of our household.

The turmoil was over, but the scars would never heal.

Sayaka?

Let's take a walk.

Go by yourself.

I'd rather just stay and finish my painting.

Goken, my love,

I have prepared a bag for you.

It is time you left this place

and embarked on your "Musha Shugyo".

No good can come of remaining here.

I wish words could explain,

but I can no longer be with you.

I pray that you may one day forgive me.

Be strong.

Goodbye.

Sayaka.

Goken, forgive me.

Nothing could have been more brutal,

telling and cruel, than the events I endured

in those final days.

There was nothing left for me.

Destiny was telling me

it was time to embark on my "Musha Shugyo".

Under my guidance,

you have become pioneers of the Ansatsuken line,

by mastering its special techniques,

using Mu no Hado alone.

This makes me proud.

You should now be mentally preparing to leave this place.

There is little left I have to teach you,

that you can't learn for yourself on your "Musha Shugyo".

Your remaining time will pass quicker, than you think.

Masterful reversal, Ryu!

Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha!

Stupid foreigner, you can't do it. Ryu is too strong for you.

You old son of a bitch!

Hey, Ryu.

I've finished your song. I play for you now.

Shut up!

You've been saying that for a year, you senile old bastard!

Shut up, woman. I didn't ask you to sing over Ryu's song.

Right, I start.

It's perfect.

How was it?

Thank you. I love it.

Do that thing, or this thing, or this thing.

Whatever it is just do it.

From there to there.

That's a pretty long way. Not sure I can make it that far.

Ahh!

It's too far for the stupid foreigner, but not for you, try it.

Right, I'm watching.

Okay. Here goes!

Hadoken!

Whoooaa... Ha, ha, ha!

Nice work.

Ah, stupid foreigner, it's impossible for you.

You could never do it.

You've done it now, old man.

Hadoken!

It's coming this way.

What the hell?!

It didn't reach. Ha, ha, ha!

You couldn't do it after all.

I swear, Ryu, one of these days...

Let's go.

Come on, boys, unload the truck.

Thanks, Shisho.

- Hey, cool, it's from my dad.
- Huh?

Oh, sh*t, Ryu! Mega Man 2!

- Ahh!
- Whooo!

Let's go! Thanks, Shisho!

Bye, Goken-sensei!

Boys! Come back!

Jump! Jump! Argh!

Watch and learn, Ken.

You know, man, for a country bumpkin,

you sure know how to play video games.

We Japanese made these games.

It's in the blood.

Is the new game any good?

It's pretty rad, Sensei. You wanna try?

I dare not, for fear of putting you both to shame.

Well, if Ryu's skills are anything to go by,

you're probably not joking.

Tomorrow morning, I'll pay my respects to Gotetsu-sensei.

I expect you to join me.

Of course. So we're going back to the old Dojo?

No. From now on, we'll pay our respects from here.

Ah!

Fine.

I will fight you,

but today is not that day.

Well then, I shall be waiting.

The day we next meet will be the last for one of us.

When the time is perfect, you will know.

Ryu, Ken.

A milestone moment is upon you.

An Ansatsuken tradition;

A rite of passage is ready to be undertaken by you both.

Congratulations on coming this far.

Thank you, Sensei.

One cannot truly call himself a warrior,

until he has stared death and defeat

in the face and shown the courage to overcome it.

For three days and three nights

you will live off the land with one focus:

To prepare yourselves
for combat.

You shall return to face one another

with the sole objective of winning.

Victory can only come from knockout or submission.

Anythihg goes.

Even Hado?

Yes. Even Hado.

Good luck, Ken.

You, too. See you on the other side.

Hadoken!

Always fishing.

I don't know why.

Ah, stupid foreigner, are you by yourself?

Is there no one to play with you?

I feel sorry for you.

Okay. Goma will play with you then.

That won't work, I can't lift this at all. Damn it.

Damn you, look this way.

What are you doing?

Are you daydreaming?

What are you doing? Just look this way.

I will teach you how to use your aggression

and impulse with Hado.

But your foundation must be Mu no Hado,

"Power of Nothingness."

Promise me!

Hey! Can't you hear me?

I said I'll play with you. Come over here.

Hadoken!

How do you like me now, assh*le?

Help me, help me.

When did I ask you to k*ll me?

You keep your Ki and emotions locked deep inside,

so no one can hurt you again.

In time,

I will teach you to open up,

to let go and be free.

There is a strength deep within you.

I feel it.

Be strong. Be strong!

Shoryuken!

Today you fight by yourself, alone.

I shall not be there to referee.

Understood?

Yes.

Ryu!

He'll come at you with everything he's got.

Time to let go of fear.

Show him what you are truly capable of.

Don't hesitate! Let him have it!

Yes, Master.

Go.

Ken!

Maintain your strong offense.

Overwhelm him with your aggression, but stay focused!

Watch for his counter.

Don't give him a chance.

He'll punish you the moment you slip up.

I understand, Shisho.

May the best man win.

Hadoken!

Hadoken!

Shoryuken!

Tatsumaki Senpu-kyaku.

- Hadoken!
- Hadoken!

Ryu...

Ryu!

Shoryuken!

Satsui no Hado.

Ryu...

Ryu! Turn and face me!

This fight's not over!

If that's how you wanna play it.

I don't know what's got a hold of you,

but if you can't snap out of it,

maybe this will.

Hadoken!

Aaahh...

Shoryuken!

Ryu!

Master!

Master!

Calm yourself.

It's okay, Ken. He's awake.

Oh, Jesus. Thank God.

It's all right, man.

Ryu, can you hear me?

You okay?

Hey, keep it. A memento of our battle.

Ken.

Ryu needs his rest now.

Yes?

At the end of the fight,

there was an intense feeling of Dark Hado.

Satsui no Hado. You promised me. I need to know.

Sensei, I-I didn't, I swear.

Look at your hand, Ken.

When I arrived, I saw you descend from a form of Shoryuken,

I've never taught you, never seen before.

Your fist, as you can see, was on fire.

Ken, no excuses, no lies!

I need to know how you tapped into Dark Hado.

Sensei.

It wasn't Ken.

I think it was me.

I must assume that

if I could feel Ryu's Dark Hado so intensely,

so could Goki.

He could only interpret such an event,

as a direct challenge from me.

This place is now tainted with a Dark Ki.

One so consumed by Satsui no Hado

will have little trouble finding us now.

Should he come here and discover

that it was Ryu, who unleashed the Dark Hado,

he will surely go after him.

Goki is my demon to face alone.

I cannot allow him to become Ryu's.

How is your head?

Broken.

And how about the hand, Ken?

Not too bad.

Good. Then I think it's time.

Time?

Time for what?

Time for the two of you to leave me.

You recently completed

the last milestone of your training under me.

You can now call yourselves warriors.

Be proud of your achievement.

The time has come for you to begin the "Musha Shugyo".

But Sensei. We have another year left.

Our training is not complete.

I'm sure, after what happened you have many questions,

but trust me.

Your Shugyo will lead you
on a path of self-discovery,

giving you answers, I could never give you.

Sensei, when do we leave?

Tomorrow.

What?

You're kidding?

No, Ken.

Your father has made the travel arrangements from his end.

You are finally going home.

I appreciate what you are saying, Master.

This feeling I have;

I don't feel comfortable leaving the Dojo yet.

Leaving you...

I understand, Ryu.

This is difficult for me, too.

But know this is a painful,

but absolutely necessary step for you both.

Did you call me, Master?

Mmm.

You've cut your hair.

Yeah, I figured it was time for a change.

It suits you.

End of an era for me.

Very modern.

Where is Ryu?

Resting.

Good. He needs it.

Walk with me.

Okay.

You've come a long way, Ken.

A long way...

Heh. Yeah, really have.

I was in a bad way, when I first came here.

You remember that first day?

Hah, like it was yesterday.

Poor Ryu didn't know, what had hit him.

Back then it was you, that I worried about.

Oh, with good reason.

But I worry no longer.

You found the missing pieces you were lacking, Ken.

You are a stronger, more balanced person in here

and here.

But it is now Ryu I'm worried about.

Me, too.

Satsui no Hado awakened in him spontaneously.

How's that even possible?

I'm yet to arrive at a full explanation.

Do you think it's got anything to do with

Gotetsu's k*ller? Goki?

It's possible, but I can't be sure yet.

Ken, I need you to look out for Ryu.

Even if he is suffering, he won't reach out for help.

You know, how he is.

Yeah, I know.

In my absence, I'm trusting you, Ken.

You are the big brother now.

I used to see boys lining up here each morning,

now I see men. Warriors.

It looks like your gloves

couldn't stand up to the Hado, that you both now wield,

so it's time you inherited these.

Traditional Ansatsuken fighting gloves,

strong enough to withstand Hado.

Shall we?

Hadoken!

Shoryuken!

You know, I was all ready to get out of here.

Now the time's come, I kinda don't wanna go.

New people, new experiences.

New challenges.

I'm trying to keep an open mind.

Like Sensei says: "Enlightenment through combat."

Wait till the world gets a load of us, man.

We've come far together, Ken.

Smile.

Ah, Shisho, I gotta get a pic of this.

Do a Samurai pose.

Nice.

Hold it.

Got it.

Senzo, thank you.

Come on, Ryu.

Give my regards to your father, Ken.

He has been a good friend.

Thanks...for everything, Sensei.

I'm gonna miss you.

And thank you, Ken. I'll see you before long.

Go and show the world, what you're made of.

Now get going.

Okay.

Goken-sensei, thank you.

It has been an honor to be under your guidance,

as a student of the martial arts and...

...as a SON.

The honor has been mine, Ryu.

I've poured all of my knowledge and wisdom into you.

I love you like a son.

Be strong.

Be strong.

As fast as the wind,

as quiet as the forest...

...as daring as fire and
immovable as the mountain.

Nice belt.

Adventure's just beginning, bro.

Senzo, let's go!

This may well be my last entry.

All, that I know, is contained within these pages

and the lessons I have taught you.

I have tried to give a true account of my journey,

knowledge of the martial arts

and ultimately wisdom for life.

Shoryuken!

Ryu. Ken.

Should you be reading these words,

then it is unlikely I survived, what lies ahead of me.

I take solace, knowing you are both safe and far from here now.

My brother, Goki, comes for me.

Ryu, by unleashing Dark Hado,

you unknowingly sent out a beacon.

A warrior consumed by Satsui no Hado could not ignore it.

He means to challenge me in combat.

A challenge that can no longer be avoided or declined.

He means to end my life.

I feel he is drawing close.

It is time to do what must be done.

My spirit shall live on within you both.

Goken.

Did they make the bus to Osaka in time?

Yes, they are safely on their way.

Good.

Join me.

Senzo. I owe much to you.

You guided me towards the Buddhist path

and helped me find peace at a time,

when all I knew was turmoil and rage.

You have seen more of the Ansatsuken legacy,

than any person alive, or dead.

Yes.

I have seen much.

Flames ignited, flames extinguished.

You have dutifully served my Master's household,

as you have served mine.

Whatever debt of honor you owed my Master

has now been paid.

You are relieved of your services to me.

You have my eternal gratitude.

Thank you.

It has been an honor to serve you.

I ask one final thing of you.

He is close.

Yes.

I haven't much time.

I entrust my journal to you.

Whatever should happen,

ensure, that you get it to my boys.

It shall be done.

You could no longer resist the call

of your Satsui no Hado.

Your show of force has brought me here.

Brother, look at you.

You truly have lost your humanity.

Lost yourself in darkness.

Lost?

To transcend humanity,

I endured every hardship and loss.

Loss?

You have taken from me

everything I ever held dear and sacred.

He is your brother!

How could you let this happen?!

You're still my brother

and I don't want you to go.

Goki!

What have you done?

Stop, damn you!

Goken, forgive me.

I've poured all of my knowledge and wisdom into you.

I love you like a son.

You know nothing of sacrifice.

For the sake of Ansatsuken,

I lost more than you could ever comprehend.

Before the sun sets,

gather your belongings and leave this place.

But this is a path I must walk alone,

the path of the true warrior,

the Shin Oni.

My...face.

Would I rather live my life never knowing,

in fear of my true potential?

Or can I truly embrace destruction to find out,

no matter the cost and consequence?

You cannot even comprehend

what I suffered to become Master of Masters.

I walk in the darkness.

Even my shadow dare not follow me.

You proved nothing k*lling Gotetsu!

He d*ed with satisfaction,

for he had lived to witness Shin Oni.

Shin Oni...

His destruction was his release.

Consumed by Satsui no Hado, you have succumbed

to the madness that took Sensei's brother.

Gotetsu had it wrong, all the old masters did.

And they d*ed for it.

What are you talking about?

They tried to become utterly consumed by Satsui no Hado.

And you haven't been?

No, I did the unimaginable: I consumed Satsui no Hado!

Are you ready to face destiny, brother?

The brother I knew once, and loved, d*ed a long time ago.

All that remains is Akuma.

I took a vow.

Today, I break it!

Ladies and gentlemen,

we are about to begin our descent

into San Francisco International.
