[instrumental music]

Many-many summers ago...

summers beyond count.

There was no Lake Waxahatchee.

The land was barren.

Nothing could live or grow

for evil dwelt here.

Evil?

A wicked spirit

lived deep under the earth

in the heart of this cave.

Mm! The spirit's name...

was Owah Tagu Sayem.

Oh, what a goose I am?

Hm... All who tried

to defeat the spirit...

d*ed a horrible death!

But then the brave
little Princess Moon

journeyed with her friends

into the spirit's
underground kingdom.

The children survived
the terrible traps

and ferocious creatures

created by the spirit.

Finally, Princess Moon

came face to face

with Owah Tagu Sayem

himself!

There was a fierce
and terrible battle

but the princess
was full of goodness and love.

Her strength was stronger
than the evil

of the spirit.

He fled from her

and shut himself up
in a chamber of living rock.

Aright, Princess Moon!

The land became
fertile and green.

Wild animals rode
through the forest.

And my people lived here
in happiness.

What a great story!

- I'm not finished.
- Sorry.

The evil spirit has escaped!

The land is dying again.

So that's why we saw
so many dead trees!

The spirit knows that
Princess Moon no longer lives.

And we fear that he has come
back stronger than before.

What a bummer!

It is no longer a bummer.

A new champion has been sent

to defeat the spirit.

- Wow! Who is it?
- You!

I beg your pardon?

Since last winter snow

we have kept this fire burning.

Waiting for the good spirits
to send us someone

with the power of love.

Someone full of goodness.

Uh, that can't be me.

Just last week, I dropped
a water balloon on our mailman.

- Yeah, she did.
- She did.

Hmm.

You won't help us?

Well, I'd love to.

but... see this spirit
fighting stuff

could take a long time.

And Monday I have
to get my teeth cleaned.

Hmm.

Then we are doomed.

The plants and the trees
shall die.

The animals shall leave.

My people will have no home.

Uh, sir, could we talk this over
for-- for a second?

Mm.

Guys, if we don't
help these people

they'll lose everything
they got.

It'll be our fault.

- Yeah.
- I know.

I say we show that evil spirit

that he can't push
people around!

- Yeah!
- Yeah.

Are you people insane?

You heard what he said.

There're dangerous traps

and ferocious creatures
in there.

Oh, don't be such
a gloomy Gertie!

The chief believes in us.

He thinks we can b*at
that evil spirit.

I say we give it a sh*t!

Oh, alright!

But if we get k*lled,

you'll be hearing
from my lawyer.

Sir, we talked it over.

I guess we'll take
on that evil spirt.

[speaking foreign language]

Thank you, little one.

Many tales will be told
of your courage.

I hope we live to hear them.

Remember...

the spirit feeds on fear.

So fight it...

with love.

I'd rather have a bazooka.

Good luck.

[instrumental music]

Sir, my foster father's
outside somewhere

looking for us.

His name's Henry Warnimont.

Could you tell him
where we are and not to worry.

We'll go find him now.

Tell him that I love him.

[thunder crashing]

We have chosen well.

What was that?

Punky: Probably the evil spirit.

And we're gonna fight that?

Relax, Margaux, we've got
an ace up our sleeve.

- We do?
- Sure.

If things get too hairy

all we have to do
is come back here.

So long, cave.
Hello, world.

[rumbling]

[screaming]

Margaux: Oh, no!

We're trapped!

[grunting]

Punky...

those rocks moved
all by themselves.

How could that happen?

It's magic!

So the evil spirit has magic.

Big deal!

Maybe it is a big deal.

We've got something too.

We've got Punky power!

[screaming]

[dramatic music]

[all screaming]

[screaming]

[rocks rumbling]

[coughing]

- Oh!
- Please don't do that anymore.

[rats squeaking]

Let's get moving.

Maybe we can find another
way out of this cave.

[instrumental music]

[rats squeaking]

[water dripping]

[bats screeching]

Punky, you think that mean
old spirit is watching us?

No way!

This is a huge cave.

He can't see everywhere at once.
