[all] It's Snoopy! Snoopy's back.

-Welcome back, Astronaut Snoopy. -[both scream]

-[Woodstock squeals] -[clears throat] And Woodstock.

From your journey to the International Space Station.

[all] Yay, Snoopy! Welcome home!

[applauding]

Does anyone have any questions for the astronauts?

How was the flight home?

-[Woodstock] Uh-- -[Snoopy] Whoo!

Were you scared?

[chatters] Uh-uh.

[screaming]

[laughs]

[screams]

[chattering]

[both screaming]

[both chattering]

If there are no more questions, then I have a very exciting announcement.

[Charlie Brown] I have a question for Snoopy.

Are you ready for your parade? We even made you a float.

[marching band]

I'm so happy you're home, pal.

Whoo!

[CARA] Snoopy, wait!

-Don't you wanna hear the announcement? -[Woodstock chitters]

[CARA] Because of the excellent job you did on the ISS, demonstrating teamwork, bravery, and creative problem-solving, you're ready for an even more ambitious mission, which will be...

[drumroll]

Eating more ice cream?

Winning the big game?

Heading home and getting everything back to normal?

Going to the moon!

[all] Whoo!

Ah.

The moon? But you just got back.

Compared to your first mission, the journey to the moon will be longer, riskier and far more difficult.

It will also be the greatest adventure you could ever imagine.

So, what do you say, Snoopy? Will you accept this new mission?

Snoopy, what about your parade?

Returning to the moon will help to prepare us for travel into deep space.

-We have confetti. -[horn blows]

Only 12 people have ever walked on the moon.

You would be joining that rarefied group of brave explorers.

The parade goes past your favorite pizza place.

Your face could end up on a stamp.

You could have unlimited root beer floats.

Hmm.

Hoo-hoo!

[clinking]

Ahh.

I knew you'd stay.

-Yay! -Hooray!

[marching band]

Between me and the moon, I would have gone with the moon too.

[tuba blows]

[CARA] This beauty was built to help astronauts travel further and stay safer than ever before.

Meet NASA's newest spacecraft, Orion.

[Snoopy, Woodstock cheering]

Ah, you've noticed that the interior is much more spacious than your last capsule.

[crunching]

However, I would advise you not to get too comfortable.

[both chuckling]

T-minus 30 seconds and counting.

The space launch system which will take Orion to the moon is the most powerful rocket ever made.

[Marcie] It's even more powerful than the Saturn V.

[Franklin] And produces over 8.4 million pounds of thrust at liftoff.

That's more than 31 jumbo jets.

T-minus ten, nine, eight, seven...

We have ignition sequence.

Four, three, two, one.

We have liftoff!

[all cheering]

Stay safe up there, Snoopy.

[both grunting]

All right, astronauts. We're officially out of low Earth orbit.

[both cheer]

Now it's only a brisk three days until we reach the moon.

Huh?

The distance from Earth to the space station is only 253 miles.

But the distance to the moon is almost 100 times as far.

[Snoopy groans]

Not to worry, astronauts.

The flight will give you plenty of time to decide who's gonna take that iconic first step on the moon.

-Whoo-hoo! -Whoo-hoo!

-Huh? -Huh?

-Hmm. -Hmm.

[both sobbing]

[both grunting]

[groans]

Orion, this is Houston.

Don't you have some work you should be doing?

Keep your eyes on the prize.

Aha!

Ooh! It's an old-fashioned staring contest. Great idea.

[clink]

[snoring]

-Good morning, everyone. -[gasps]

It's day three of Snoopy and Woodstock's historic lunar mission.

Good grief.

Next time, can Snoopy pick a closer moon?

Now that Orion has reached its destination, the main crew module will remain in orbit around the moon while Snoopy and Woodstock pilot a smaller lander to the moon's surface.

[Charlie Brown] Lunar lander, this is Houston.

You have successfully landed.

Yay!

Look at our two brave explorers poised together at the precipice of history.

I wonder how they're celebrating this remarkable moment.

[snoring]

[exclaims]

Yahoo! [laughs]

Congratulations on the win, Astronaut Snoopy.
