01x09 - Mission 9: Searching for Moon Rocks

Post by bunniefuu »

-[Snoopy] Whoo-hoo! -[chittering]

-Whoo-hoo-hoo-hoo-hoo! -[chittering]

Astronauts, it's wonderful to see you already preparing for your next important mission: collecting moon rocks.

[all] Neat!

Moon rocks?

Why waste time on a bunch of dumb rocks when you could be looking for aliens?

[sighs] There are no aliens on the moon.

And moon rocks aren't dumb.

The samples Snoopy and Woodstock find could tell us all sorts of things about what Earth was like before life started.

-Alien life. -[sighs]

Once again, Lucy, there will not be any aliens.

But Snoopy will get to drive the lunar rover.

[engine revving]

-[crunch] -[chattering]

[laughing]

[engines revving]

[Snoopy laughing]

[coughs]

[chuckles]

[imitates engine]

-Has he always been like this? -Mm-hmm.

[clears throat] The rover is just over there.

-[whistles] -Huh?

[exclaims]

[CARA] As you can see, there is no gas pedal or steering wheel.

The rover is controlled by that joystick.

And it can only travel eight miles per hour.

[grumbling]

[laughs]

[clanging]

[CARA] Oh! Uh!

Please do not tamper with the rover.

-It is a highly sophisticated-- -[tires squealing]

[coughing]

Okay, that was impressive.

Just be sure to stay within communication range!

Ha-ha!

Whoo!

[whirring]

-Yoo-hoo! -[Charlie Brown] Woodstock found one.

Ooh! That must be a volcanic rock formed from lava.

You can tell by all the holes.

That implies the moon once had volcanoes.

[grunts]

[gasps] Oh. Mm.

[clears throat]

[chattering]

[groans]

[whimpers]

[growls]

[laughs]

[humming]

[horn playing tune]

[chattering]

[Woodstock chuckles]

[rover beeping]

[humming]

Ha! [exclaims]

[horn playing tune]

-[oldies playing] -[chattering, grunts]

-[surf guitar playing] -[oldies playing]

-[surf guitar playing] -[music switching]

[both chattering]

[rock-and-roll music playing]

Warning! Rover approaching outer limit of communication range.

Warning, warning, warning.

Attention. We have lost contact with the astronauts.

-[gasping] -What?

-Snoopy, bark if you can hear me! -[static]

That's what happens when you don't keep your dog on a leash.

Don't worry, Charlie Brown.

In a way, we're all lost in the great cosmic tapestry.

But Snoopy's so far from home!

[typing]

Two hundred thirty-eight thousand, nine hundred miles from home to be exact.

He's probably terrified.

-[music continues] -[Snoopy] Whoo-hoo-hoo-hoo!

[alarm blaring]

[both] Whoo-hoo!

[music breaking up, static]

[music ends]

[clicking]

-[chattering] -Uh-huh.

[grunting]

Huh?

Uh-oh!

When Snoopy smells these freshly baked chocolate chip cookies, he's bound to come back.

That's not how microphones work, Charles.

I know.

Even if they did, Snoopy wouldn't be able to smell anything due to the lack of atmosphere.

Hey. No atmosphere.

Doesn't that mean Snoopy could follow the rover's tire tracks back to the module?

Charlie Brown, you're right!

They'll be perfectly preserved, just like Neil Armstrong's footprint.

Those tracks should lead them right home.

Hmm.

[squeals]

[groans]

[gasps]

[chattering]

[babbles]

[growls]

[Woodstock whistles]

Huh?

[chatters, imitates horn playing tune]

[screams]

[growls]

[chattering, laughs]

[angry babbling]

[chattering]

[gasps]

-Yoo-hoo! -[Woodstock cheers]

Ha-ha!

Any updates, CARA?

I'm afraid communication is still down.

[sighs]

This is not good, Charles.

[chewing] You can say that again.

A little dry, big brother. Blech!

[music playing intermittently]

[rock-and-roll music playing]

They're back!

Yay! Hooray!

[chuckles, sighs]

Welcome back, Astronauts Snoopy and Woodstock.

These rocks will answer so many scientific questions.

[Woodstock chattering]

-I didn't mean literally answer questions. -Shh!

-Okay. -[chattering]

Has he always been like this?

Uh-huh.
