[APPLAUSE ON TV]

[DOOR OPENS]

[DOOR CLOSES]

MAN [ON TV]: Mr. Carrington's
next stop on this whirlwind

pre-primary swing through
Colorado was Glenwood Springs,

where he met this morning
with a mob of well-wishers.

And then it was on to Pueblo,
where he gave a speech

in which he talked
about the environment.

BLAKE [ON TV]: And about
the issue of certain timberlands

that have been raised recently,

well, I want you to know that I
am not against growth. I'm for it.

But the destruction of our
environment for personal gain

is not growth. It is pure,
unadulterated, rotten greed.

[APPLAUSE]

To put it mildly, you seem to be
anxious about the Whitcomb's deal.

To put it mildly, yes.
I want it nailed down.

Alexis, you have a verbal agreement
with Whitcomb's grandchildren.

Yes, I'm beginning to think
that they can't be trusted.

They'll sell to Blake, help
him wrap up this nomination.

I should've been the
candidate, you know.

Now he is rising in the
popularity polls. Damn it.

Now, stop getting yourself
upset and think about packing.

- Packing? For what?
- I'm taking you away.

- It's called a vacation.
- Heh, a vacation?

- You must be joking. Where?
- Now, that part is a secret.

So first thing in the morning,

pack your clothes for warm weather.
And we're off on a plane I've chartered.

Sean, do you realize the
primary is three days away, and I...

Yes, I'll have you
back in three days.

Come on, you need a rest.

You've got nothing but
Blake Carrington on your mind.

He isn't worth it. You are.

- Look, I don't think...
- Come on, it's just a few days.

Just the two of us, alone.

You might be
pleasantly surprised.

[CHUCKLES]

Well, I suppose it would do me
good to get away for a few days.

I wasn't sure I was
gonna win that round.

Hmm, you almost didn't, heh.

Oh, you are such a
romantic, aren't you?

You remind me of the
first man I fell in love with

- when I was years old.
- Blake?

All right, Mr. Rowan.
I'll go away with you.

But you must promise to get
me back here in time to vote.

- Have I ever lied to you?
- Ha, not yet.

I've gotta make
a phone call now.

Denver Mirror? Get me
the editor at the night desk.

It's nice to have you home
for dinner for a change.

It's nice to be home for a change.
I been so crazy with the team.

You know that we just might
make the playoffs this year?

Josh Harris is really turning
things around, isn't he?

Yeah. We lucked out.

Don't be so modest. It
was more than luck, Steven.

You picked him.

Thanks.

So are you still a
Josh Harris fan?

[SIGHS]

We've been through
this already, Steven.

If you're talking about the
incident a couple of weeks ago,

it was just a
friendly little pass.

It was more than
a friendly little pass.

[SIGHS]

Steven, when you moved
back here, we agreed,

separate beds and separate
rooms. That's the way it's been.

But I was hoping we'd
spend more time together.

Maybe Josh is what I need.

Currying horses every day
doesn't exactly fill a woman's needs.

I'm sorry.

I have been spending a
lot of time with the team.

But I will make it up to you.

We'll spend more
time together. I promise.

WOMAN: Welcome back.
- Hello, Mary.

From the reports we got,
you wowed them in Peoria.

Yeah. It'd be terrific if I was
running for governor of Illinois.

- I'll go see if anyone's located Arthur.
- Fine. That'll be helpful.

- Lots of calls?
- Lots and lots. Plus those wires.

Good reaction from
Montrose County?

And Larimer. You
were a bit concerned,

but the reports
are both excellent.

It's the Mirror. A special
bulldog edition just arrived.

- I think you should
see it. KRYSTLE: Hmm.

Excuse me.

A little welcoming
home from Alexis.

"The Denver Mirror endorses
Ralph Dunbar of Grand Junction

for the gubernatorial candidate
in our vital upcoming primary."

[SCOFFS]

Listen to this:

"The electorate has the right
to ask the operative question:

Is Blake Carrington capable
of disengaging himself

from his considerable
business interests?"

"Dunbar is a man of the people.
When push comes to shove,

will Carrington come
first or will Colorado?"

But she knows you
have to divest yourself

of your holdings in
Denver-Carrington if you're a candidate.

I'm sure she does.

Well, how can we
let her do this to you?

She has a knack for it.

And she certainly knows
how to get my wife steamed up.

Blake, don't tease me. We
have to do something about her.

Now, you're a man of your
word and Alexis knows that.

But if she prints
something enough times,

people are gonna start
to believe it's the truth.

Some will, but some won't.
Either way, we can't stop her.

Darling, please.

We mustn't let
Alexis sidetrack us.

This is gonna be
a long, hard fight.

All right?

All right.

Now, let's get back
to what we were doing.

What about the TV spots?

Well, we're fine. You're set
for filming tomorrow afternoon.

Good.

I'm speaking to a group
of educators at breakfast,

then I'm having lunch
with the Citizen's League,

and Lord help me, high
tea with the voters council.

[CHUCKLES]

Blake, do you think
I'm putting on weight?

All those scrambled eggs
and chicken a la king?

- Well, now that you mention it...
- Oh, you rat, heh.

- I was able to locate Whitcomb.
BLAKE: Good. Where is he?

He's in his condo in Vail.
And he said no to your visit.

[SIGHS]

Well, you call him
back and you tell him

I know there's bad blood between
the Whitcombs and the Carringtons,

but I never thought I'd see the
day when he'd be afraid to see me.

If you want music, we
have cassettes on board.

No, I just wanted to get a
news program from Denver

- to find out the latest on the primary.
- Sorry. None of that.

- Ha, Sean.
- No, I said it.

This was to be your
vacation, and on my terms.

Oh, how very gallant of you.

So where are you taking me?

You'll see when we get there.

Hmm.

- You could be abducting me.
- Hey, that's true.

- Mm?
- You're a very wealthy woman.

- Oh.
- I could be kidnapping you to, say,

Ireland to help with the
financing for the g*n-running.

Oh, maybe you are kidnapping me.

Mm-hm.

Then why don't you tell the
pilot to turn the plane around.

Heh, no. It's all right.

I don't care where it is
that you're taking me.

As long as we're together, I
know it's going to be wonderful.

Here's to us.

Put my number on it. Makes
you an honorary Denver Monarch.

Well, thanks, Josh.

Is it safe?

Um, sure. No one
here but us kids.

Mommy, look.

Wow, that's terrific. But we've
gotta get going, sweetheart.

- I have to show the guys first.
- Okay.

[CHUCKLES]

- He's a great kid.
- Yeah, I know.

Look, what happened
at the stables...

I'm sorry.

Me too.

It won't happen again. I
like Steven, and I owe him.

Forget it. It's history.

- Mommy, look.
SAMMY JO: That's nice.

- Daddy, look what Josh gave me.
- Ha, ha, heh. That looks great.

You look very sharp.

I didn't know you were
coming here today, Sammy Jo.

Oh, I didn't either. Josh
invited Danny to watch practice.

Come on, sweetheart,
it's time to go.

- Bye, Daddy. Bye, Josh.
- See you later.

See you, kid.

Harris, I could have gotten
my son the football jersey.

Well, I thought he might enjoy
practice. Matter of fact, he did. A lot.

Uh, Steven, I know I was
wrong with Sammy Jo.

- Do you?
- Yes.

You two have an
agreement, and I respect that.

What happened
between us was nothing...

Look, Harris, I don't want your
shirts and I don't want your apologies.

I was watching you
out on that practice field.

You lost your concentration,
you were walking through the drills.

Just do us both a big favor.

Just play football.

And stay away from my family.

Well, you certainly are
a man of mystery, Sean.

I mean, you fly us out
here on a private jet,

and then you dump
us in this cabin,

which seems to be miles
away from anywhere.

And better yet, there's no phone,
no radio, no TV and no neighbors.

- So...
- We don't dress for dinner.

[ALEXIS CHUCKLES]

So when is the happy hour?

Well, that's every moment I spend
with you, my gorgeous señora.

[CHUCKLES]

Well, I haven't seen the housekeeper
and I presume there's a cook.

Hmm? Oh, yes.
There are both of us.

You and me, Alexis.
And we're on our own.

- Huh? You and me?
- Mm-hm.

So, uh, what's for dinner then?

We fish for it.

Fish? Sean, I don't like
fish. I only like caviar.

Heh, well, it's
not quite caviar.

And, um, we're
short on supplies.

I'll take the boat across in the
morning and pick us up some things.

Now, why don't you
change your clothes

and we'll go catch
us our dinner.

[CHUCKLES]

I got a much better idea.

Why don't the two of us go
on a diet just for tonight, hmm?

Would you like that?

[KNOCKING ON DOOR]

Go away.

[KNOCKING CONTINUES]

All right. All right. Come in.

You're a hard man
to track down, Arthur.

You don't listen, do you?

I don't like being tracked
down. That's why I move around.

To get away from all these insects
crawling on me and my bank account,

and nibbling away at both.

Now, what do you
want? And make it brief.

I wanna talk to you
about Alexis Colby.

If you're referring to the fact that I'm
gonna sell her that little patch of land,

that's my decision.

Your decision?
Or your children's?

Those idiots can ride
around in their Rolls-Royces.

I still make up my own mind.

- This conversation's terminated.
- Now, look, Arthur.

I know that you and my
father didn't get along.

That he may or may not have
messed up some kind of a deal for you...

He did.

I was just beginning
in the business.

The old coot tried to
walk away with the rainbow

and leave me sitting
there with an empty pot.

Except that it didn't
turn out that way, did it?

You both became very
successful businessmen. Now...

Arthur, I happen to know that
you and my father shared a dream.

About Colorado.

About keeping this
land the way it is.

A dream about keeping the
land virginal and beautiful.

So that people could
enjoy it and be proud of it.

Look, Carrington.

Where would this
state, this country be

if we decided the whole thing
should be one big damned park?

Nowhere.

Now, don't make me
have to call security.

No. No, don't bother. I'm going.

But I want you to know
that one way or another,

I'm gonna make
that dream come true.

[DOOR CLOSES]

[ALEXIS MOANS]

Good morning.

[SIGHS THEN CHUCKLES]

Good morning.

[INHALES]

- Good night?
- Oh, yes. Fabulous night, heh.

It's starting to cloud up.

I'd better get across the
channel and get those supplies.

Oh, I'll come with you.

It's getting a little choppy out
there. Too rough for you, darling.

I'll be back before you know it.

[CHUCKLES]

What am I supposed
to do while you're gone?

- Miss me.
- Hmm, I'll try.

[SIGHS]

[DOOR CLOSES]

- What are you reading?
- I don't think you'd be interested.

Come on now. Of
course I'd be interested.

- Let me see.
- Please, Jeff.

What is it?

[FALLON SIGHS]

"Adventures into the Unknown:
An Extra-Terrestrial Dossier."

- Oh, boy.
- Don't start.

"Don't start"? When
is this gonna stop?

Yesterday, a phone
call. Today, a book.

- What phone call?
- Oh, one of your weirdo friends called

to remind you about
some group meeting.

- When?
- Sometime tomorrow morning.

[SIGHS]

And when were you
gonna tell me about it?

Jeff?

Fallon, do you have any idea
how concerned I am for you?

I mean, this whole thing
has a ring of lunacy to it.

When exactly is the meeting?

People don't do this.
People don't see spaceships

and they don't go up in them.

You're worried about
me because I said I did?

Yes, I am worried.

I can understand that.

Maybe if you met
some of these people,

came to a meeting with me.

I'm talking about
our life together.

Our marriage.

And I want you to
try to understand

something that's
going on in my life now.

[SIGHS]

Said she'd be here at
. She's half an hour late.

She'll be here.

Doctors’ offices are always
crowded. And then there's traffic.

- Darling.
- Yes?

If Karen says it didn't take,
that she's not pregnant...

Yeah.

Let's wait a little while
before we try again, please?

You aren't having
second thoughts, are you?

I think we might be rushing it.

This whole thing was your
idea in the first place, remember?

Yes, I do. It's just that I
never stopped to think that...

Well, heh, are
we going into this

before we've even had a
chance to settle into marriage?

I have settled into it.

Dana, do you realize that
my child could be the grandson

of the next governor
of Colorado?

Do you know what
that could mean?

- The doctor was running late.
- That's what we figured.

Would you like some wine?

Thanks. But, uh, no
alcohol. Not for the duration.

You are pregnant?

Sure am.

- Heh.
- We're gonna have a baby.

[ADAM LAUGHS]

Oh, Karen.

I can't tell you what
this means. Thank you.

[ADAM SIGHS]

I can't wait to see Blake's
face when he hears about it.

Look, I'm afraid I
have to go. I'm late.

- But I'm glad I stayed to
get this news. KAREN: Heh.

- I'll see you soon.
- Yes.

And, you, I'll see you at home.

I, uh, caught the look
on your face before.

Oh, it's wonderful news, heh.

But what?

But I woke up in the middle
of the night last night, and I...

I thought about today and
what the doctor's report might be,

and I thought that if
Karen says, "I'm pregnant,"

then my husband, the
man I love so much,

will really be having a child.

But not by me.

By some other woman.

Dana.

[DANA SIGHS]

I might be the biological
mother of Adam's child,

but that's where it ends.

[SIGHS]

- I appreciate your saying that...
- I mean it.

You and I are going to share this
experience every step of the way.

And you think you feel funny,
oh, my God, I hardly know the man.

Uh, I've never even
seen him in a swimsuit.

What kind of knees does he
have? Knobby? Gorgeous?

Sort of in-between.

[BOTH CHUCKLE]

Dana, right now, I'm
carrying Adam's child

who will then become your child.

Legally. Lovingly.

Period.

Okay?

[SIGHS]

LESLIE: Good night.

[SIGHS]

[LESLIE SIGHS]

There. Done.

Anything else I can
help you with, Jeff?

No, no. It's getting late.

You've gotta be getting
tired and I'm just bushed.

[SIGHS]

Well, how does that feel?

Well, I'd be a cad
if I said "rotten."

Heh, I'd punch you in the nose

- Ha, ha.
- If you said "rotten." Heh.

- Yeah. You've got pretty good fingers.
- Only good?

[BOTH CHUCKLE]

No. You've got very agile
and very sensitive fingers.

Oh. Well, the last campaign
manager that I worked on

said that my fingers
were sensual.

But, um, I guess I'll just, uh,
accept agile and soothing for now.

[CHUCKLES]

[DOOR OPENS]

Hey, Dex.

Hi, Jeff.

Blake around?

No, he's at the house if
you need to reach him.

Ah, it can wait,
uh, till morning.

Well, I'm out of here.
It's been a long day.

Thanks for the computer
workout and the massage.

Any time.

If you wanna make the call,
do it now, Dex. I'm closing up.

It's nothing urgent.

Then do you wanna
quit staring at me?

[SCOFFS]

Leslie, you are a piece of work.

First, you move in on
Alexis, and now Jeff Colby.

Why don't you spare me
your little observations?

Whatever you can get, right?
Grabbing with both hands?

You'd rather be a first-rate Colby
than a second-rate Carrington.

Isn't that what's going clickety-click
through that non-stop brain of yours?

[SIGHS]

What an interesting notion.

Why don't you stay
tuned to find out?

[ALEXIS SCREAMS]

[PANTING]

Oh, God, Sean. Where are you?

sh**t.

[SCREAMS]

Sean. Sean.

[CRYING]

[DOOR OPENS]

Sean. Oh, Sean, Sean, Sean.
I've been so worried about you.

Oh, I thought you were
dead. I thought I'd ne...

- Look at you, you're soaking wet.
- Thought you'd never what?

I went out on the beach.
I was calling your name.

The surf was so high.

All I could think about was you
out there alone in that tiny boat.

You thought I was gonna die.
And I thought I was gonna die.

- Yes. Weren't you frightened?
- Oh, yes.

But do you know what I
was more terrified about?

Not drowning, not death.

I was afraid, Alexis,
that I was gonna die

and that I'd never see
you again. Never. Ever.

Oh, Sean. Oh, Sean.

Oh.

At first, it was like a terrible as*ault
on my person as well as on my mind.

I boarded a spacecraft
and I thought:

"Who are these forms? Devils
of some sort? Is this hell?"

Did you share that
feeling, any of you?

I did. Sure did.

I did too.

I felt controlled,
completely controlled.

Exactly. I couldn't move.

I thought I'd been
tied. But I hadn't been.

I kept asking myself, "What
do they want from me? What?"

But then, did a sort of a
sense of peace come over you?

Yes, it did.

But the endless
time before that...

I'd rather not talk
about that part.

But, Mr. Alpert,
that's why we're here.

It's for us all to know
that we're not alone.

Now, for those who've been
chosen to have these encounters,

there seems to be a phenomenon
where some of our children

are having dreams of
strange creatures visiting them.

Fallon, you have children.

A son, years old,
and a baby daughter.

Well, has your son ever
mentioned anything like this to you?

No, he hasn't.

How about you, Mr. Colby?

Heh, obviously, you're
here with us this morning

because you support your wife.

So I pose this question to you.

Did your son ever talk to you
about dreams that he's had?

Miss Lindquist, my son
has no part of this, heh.

WOMAN: I know how
you feel, Mr. Colby.

We've tried to
protect our family too.

I would appreciate it if you would
answer my question, Mr. Colby.

Miss Lindquist, if my son had
ever even mentioned this to me,

I'd have him off to
a psychiatrist. Fast.

Excuse me. I have to go.

- Fallon, are you gonna join me?
- No, I'm not.

Bye.

So do you wanna get married
here, or go back to Denver?

Heh, married? Sean,
you can't be serious.

Okay.

If you hadn't lost all our
groceries in the channel,

we might have something else
to eat other than tortillas and eggs.

I'm serious about you,
Alexis. I'm serious about us.

And you said it to me,
we belong together.

Yes. I know we said that, Sean.

But that was when we were,
um... Heh, well, you know.

And that's all it meant to you, a
pleasant way to spend the time?

No, that's not all
it meant to me.

Heh, I adore you, you know that.

You're kind, you're
strong, you're very romantic.

You manned your oars
through thick and thin

just to get back here to me.
But how can I marry you?

I hardly know you.

Do you wanna know
how long my father

knew my mother
before they got married?

- Hmm?
- Two weeks and not one day longer.

- Heh, was he as charming as you?
- Oh, yes. Mm-hm.

- More charming, by far.
- Unh, ha, ha.

- And do you know how he proposed?
- No, heh.

He said, "Wed me today, lassie,
or you'll miss me sore tomorrow."

[BOTH CHUCKLE]

And they spent all
of their lives together,

and it was the best marriage
I ever knew or heard about.

Alexis, do you believe in fate?

Yes.

When you went off
that bridge into that river,

and I just happened to
be driving by, that was fate.

When I was living
alone, splitting logs

and cursing my empty
life, you were looking for me,

don't tell me that wasn't fate.

You've known men, Alexis.

And I have known women.

Now, what we have together,
where would we ever find it again?

Oh, Sean.

Wed me today, lassie, or
you'll miss me sore tomorrow.

Steven's not here.
What is it you want?

You want the truth?

I was driving around and I
decided I wanted to see you.

Well, I'm in a rush. Danny's
at his grandfather's house

- and they're all waiting for me.
- Ooh, uh...

I wanted to see you and
talk to you, Sammy Jo.

About us.

- I'm leaving.
- Just listen to me.

- I don't wanna listen to you.
- Hey. What is it? Really?

Are you afraid about us?

That's it, isn't it?

[SIGHS]

Listen, Josh.

Steven and I love each other
in our own way. Very deeply.

Some people might not
understand that, but we do.

[SIGHS]

He's, uh, a gentle, caring
man. And I can't hurt him.

I wouldn't hurt him
for anything or anyone.

[SIGHS]

[DOOR OPENS]

Hi, darling. Pick a dress.

The green. It
complements your eyes.

Aw, mm. Ha-ha-ha.

- What's that?
- What do you think?

Oh, they're
beautiful. I love them.

Do you think Karen will?

- Karen?
- Yeah.

Oh, I'm sure she will.

I spent nearly half an hour in
Jensen's just trying to decide.

But she's worth it.
We owe her so much.

Is there any hot water?

If there isn't, complain
to the management.

As soon as the telecast is
over, get a hold of research.

Tell them I want polling
information by midnight.

Good luck tonight, Jeff.

Thank you. We're gonna
need all of that we can get.

LESLIE: You're doing a
terrific job for Uncle Blake.

[LESLIE CHUCKLES]

Fallon.

Remember you wanted
to know who told me

about your experience
out in the desert?

You just saw her leave.

Leslie? How does she know?

She has her ways.
About a lot of things.

Excuse me, Miss Fallon, Mr. Dexter,
the telecast is about to start.

Thank you, Gerard.

I hate this doggone makeup.

No point in getting
upset. It has to be done.

I know, I know. It still
doesn't mean I have to like it.

- Mr. Carrington?
- Yes?

Sorry to rush, but we'll
be ready in a few minutes.

Oh, I'll be right there.

Okay. Thank you.

All right.

- Blake. BLAKE: Arthur.

Oh, darling, this is Arthur
Whitcomb. This is my wife, Krystle.

Hello. Uh, I've
heard a lot about you.

I'll bet you have.

I was wrong. You were right.

Here's the deed to that land.

I thought you felt...

Never mind what you
thought. It's what I want.

- Thank you, Arthur. ARTHUR:
Don't thank me, Blake.

Just go out there and be the
best governor this state ever had.

[CHUCKLES]

Mrs. Carrington.

[BLAKE CHUCKLES]

BLAKE [ON TV]: Good
evening, ladies and gentlemen.

This is a deed for , of the
most beautiful acres of timberland

in the state of Colorado.

It was generously given,
after some persuasion,

by Mr. Arthur Whitcomb
to the people of this state.

Now, there are some who might
accuse me of strong-arm tactics,

and they'd be right,

because I tried my darndest to
help preserve this acreage for you,

the people of this
state of Colorado.

And this is only the beginning.

We're going to have more jobs.

We're going to have more subsidies
for the disadvantaged, for education,

for the social
services, all of them.

And we're going to help to
preserve the beauty of our land

as much as we can.

Yes, it is possible.

And I intend to prove it.

Hey, heh.

Well-written.
Well-written, Jeff.

- Sorry I'm late.
- What happened?

Two of the stable boys got
in an argument and I refereed.

No big deal.

You missed a good
speech by Blake.

I think it might have
clinched the primary for him.

[PLAYING MARIACHI MUSIC]

- My God, you look beautiful.
- Ha, oh, thank you.

The bride wore red. I'm sorry,
it's the only dress I packed.

SEAN: Good morning, judge.

[SPEAKING IN SPANISH]

He says, "You're
very beautiful."

I know what he said, heh.

He's a very discriminating man.

[SPEAKS IN SPANISH]

[SEAN CHUCKLES]

He asked me if I
will take this lovely,

very, very lovely
woman to be my wife.

Now and for always.

- Yes, I do.
- Heh.

[BOTH SPEAKING IN SPANISH]

And do you, Alexis, take this
man, Sean, who is not worthy,

but who loves you with such
passion of infinite proportions,

as your lawful wedded husband?

Heh, that's not
what he said, but...

It's a loose translation.

Yes, I do.

I do.

[SPEAKS IN SPANISH]

Um... [CHUCKLES]

[MAN CONTINUES
SPEAKING IN SPANISH]

He said I may kiss the
bride to my heart's content.

Mm, so, what are you
waiting for? Ha, ha.

[ALL CHEERING]

[PLAYING MARIACHI MUSIC]

Oh, Sean.

[LAUGHS]

And now, Mrs.
Rowan, let's go home.

All right.

[KNOCKING ON DOOR]

Aren't you gonna join us, Daddy?

The family is in the living
room watching the early returns.

We've got a little time yet.

There won't be any substantial
results for quite a while.

Come here. Sit down and talk
to me for a couple of minutes.

What are you doing in
here all by yourself, anyway?

Oh, I'm just thinking.
Can't a fellow do that?

Yes.

- Tell me, now. How is everything?
- Fine, just fine.

Everything going
well with you and Jeff?

Daddy, I'd rather
not get into that.

- Yes, but, Fallon, I couldn't help...
- No, I mean it. Please, not now.

Not tonight of all nights.

All right.

I just thought if there was a
problem, that I might be able to help.

Well, there is a problem,
but it's not monumental.

Haven't you told me many
times about commitment

and hanging in and to try
dealing with problems ourselves?

Well, that's what I'm doing.

So how's that for the
obedient daughter?

[CHUCKLES]

There's nothing serious, huh?

Jeff and I have to
work it out between us.

Now, tonight is your night.

You're on your way
to becoming governor.

- Well, maybe.
- Definitely.

- You're gonna be a great governor.
- Let's put that aside for a moment.

The governorship and
the election. Whatever.

Darling, I just want you to
know that if you need me,

I'm here for you,
and I always will be.

I know that, Daddy.

And we'll talk about this
again soon. I promise.

Thank you.

Now, let's go and
watch the returns.

- Oh, heh. All right.
- Heh.

Oh, what a place to spend
our honeymoon night.

Oh, we've got the rest of
our lives together, Sean.

Now, I've got to finish this
dictation and then we'll go, all right?

Leslie. I'll be in
sometime tomorrow,

but I want you to cancel
all of my meetings.

I want you to see that Legal
is up on the Dillard matter,

and I want it cleared
up once and for all.

Scratch the meeting with
Congressman Henderson

on Wednesday. Tell
him I'll get back to him.

[DOOR OPENS]

Oh, I'm sorry.

I, uh, didn't know
that you were back.

I was gonna drop
these by for you to sign.

Well, I'll do them tomorrow.

Meanwhile, I left
some notes for you.

You can do them in the morning.

I will.

Interesting about
Uncle Blake, isn't it?

What's so interesting about him?

Two networks made an early
projection that he'll win the primary.

- What?
- I'm sure that Mr. Whitcomb's

donating the
timberland to the state

while you were
away didn't hurt either.

Leslie, I don't find
that so interesting.

Why don't you, um, leave
all that, do it tomorrow.

- Good night.
ALEXIS: Good night.

[DOOR CLOSES]

Oh, he sweet-talked
Whitcomb into caving in to him.

He wanted to cheat me and now
thinks he's gonna run for governor.

Look, Alexis. This is our honeymoon.
We have other things to think of.

This is just the primary.
Blake's not governor yet.

And he never will be. Never.

[ALL CHEERING]

Thank you. Thank you very much.

My family and I would like
you to know how grateful we are

for all your many kindnesses
during this campaign.

And I personally

would like to thank you
for your unflagging support

in helping me to
win this primary.

But we are not going to
stop here. We're going on.

Thank you very much.

- Mrs. Carrington, how do you feel?
- Oh, I feel terrific.

As my husband just said,

it's just the beginning,
and we're going all the way.

- Congratulations.
- Thank you.

Thank you, heh.

Dad, I've gotta take Sammy Jo home
and then I'm taking off to Houston.

- So congratulations again, heh.
- Thank you, son.

Sure you want Danny
to spend the night?

Certainly. We told him we'd
have him over at the house

to celebrate with us.
You don't mind, do you?

Danny would mind if we said no.

Oh, Steven, don't
go yet, please.

Dad, I have an announcement
to make, if I may.

Yes, indeed. What is it?

[CHUCKLES]

Well, the governor-to-be is
also a new grandfather-to-be.

We're gonna have a baby.

Well, heh... [ALL APPLAUDING]

- Dana, congratulations.
- Thank you.

- Need any help?
- No, I'll be fine. Thanks.

How about company? Like me.

I thought it would be kind of
fun if I came along with you.

Oh, Sammy Jo, it's a business
trip. It won't be any fun at all.

- What about Danny?
- Heh, he'll be fine at the house.

He has L.B. to play with and Jeannette
and Mrs. Gunnerson to spoil him.

We'd hardly ever see each other.

Well, I'd settle for
a.m. breakfasts

and a cup of hot chocolate
late at night. How about that?

Not this time, I just...
I've got too much to do.

Steven, I just don't
wanna be alone tonight.

I'll be back before
you know it. Really.

Of course.

[DOOR OPENS]

Steven, is that you?

No, Sammy Jo.

Your houseman let me in.

He's a fan. I told him I
wanted to see you for a minute

- and he thought it'd be okay.
- You shouldn't be here, Josh.

I know.

You want me to leave?

[PHONE RINGING]

Hello?

Why did you call me here?

No, no, it's too late.

No, it's already done.
I married the woman.

Don't call me here
again, is that clear?

ALEXIS: Who was that on the phone?
- Wrong number.

Oh, well, just see that there
aren't any more of them.

[CHUCKLES]
