[wind whooshing]

[Dak] Ahhh.

Finally, some warmth!

Oh, yeah. That’s the stuff!

I can’t keep this up
forever, you know.

Hopefully, Winger will
find more firewood,

but until then...

Ahhh.

[chomp, spit, chomp, spit,
chomp, spit, chomp, spit...]

[Leyla] Arghh.

[sounds continue]

Burple! Could you stop
doing that right there?

Oh! Sure.

- [spits, chomps...]
- Huh?

Arghh!

- Burple!
- [gulps]

Ohh. Sorry.

We’ve just been cooped
up in here for days,

and I was hoping to
get some work done

in my dragon diary, and...

Don’t worry about it, Ley.

Some people are just
annoying, am I right?

[harsh friction sound]

Aah! Hey!

I warned you about
using that thing again!

And I warned you
about warning me

about using that thing again.

Okay, you two.

We’re a team, remember?

We’ve fought boars,
wolves, and eels together.

But today, we fight a new
enemy, whose name is...

[all] Boredom.

Steve! I mean... boredom.

- Huh?
- You gave the same speech yesterday.

- And the day before.
- I-I did? Sorry.

We’ve been snowed
in for too long.

You’re right. We need
some way to pass the time

or we’re gonna go
whacko-nutso-craze-o in here!

Sounds like somebody
already did.

What if we told each other
a good story from our past?

That’s a pretty good idea, Sum.

As long as I can stop being
the fireplace, I’m in.

[grunting] Eh,

I’d rather pass the time
sharpening my spikes.

[all] Ahem!

Quietly?

[quieter sound]

Suit yourself.

So, who wants to go first?

Oh! Me! Me! I’ve got a story!

All right, Burps!
Start us off.

Okay. One time,

during a giant snowstorm,

I was bouncing my
favorite rock off the wall

over and over.

Then Leyla said, "Burple! Could
you stop doing that there?!"

- And then...
- Burps. We meant to tell a story

farther back in the past
that we don’t all know.

Ohhh.

And I don’t sound like that.

You know a story I’ve
always wanted to hear?

How Leyla and Summer met.

Ooh, that’s a pretty good one.

You fell off Winger
and Summer saved you.

Right? We already
know that one.

Ho-hum.

There’s a lot more to
the story than that.

[Leyla] It started out as
a pretty normal day for us,

which, in those days,
meant we were hungry.

[Dak] So we were fishing.

[Leyla] Well, we were trying to.

Back then we weren’t
very good at it.

[Winger] So we were trying
out one of Dak’s crazy ideas.

It’s speed-fishing
time! Ready, Ley?

No, but nothing else
we’ve tried has worked,

so let’s go for it.

Hold on back there!

[both] Whoo!

- There!
- Aah!

- No, there!
- Aah!

- Right! Go right!
- Whoah!

- No, left!
- Aaaah!

Now straight.

Now left again!

Then back! Right! Left!

Left! Right! Left!

Huh?

- [Leyla screams]
- Ley!

[Winger] Good grab, Dak.

[Dak] Yeah. My only
catch of the day

turns out to be my sister.

I’ll take it!

- Unhh!
- Whoa!

I gotta be honest, guys,

I don’t think speed-fishing
is gonna work.

Ha! You think?

So I’ve got an even better idea!

Underwater speed-fishing!

Everyone holds their
breaths, and...

Or we could just head
over to that island.

Maybe we can find
some food there.

[Dak] I guess that
could be fun, too.

[Burple] Wait, wait,
wait, wait, wait.

I don’t remember any of this!

That’s because
you weren’t there.

We didn’t know you back then.

Oh! Right.

I can’t wait to hear the
story of how we met. Continue.

So we get to the island,
and it looks great.

[Dak] This island looks great!

A little windy.

Tell me about it.

- [wind whistling]
- Hey!

I see a river down there
through those trees.

You could try fishing there
the old-fashioned way.

Eh, sounds sort of boring.

Sounds sort of safe...

Compared to speed-fishing

or underwater speed-fishing.

I’ll look for a place to land.

[Winger straining]

Must be wind coming
off the mountain.

Nothing I can’t handle.

[cries out]

Okay, this might
something I can’t handle!

[both screaming]

- Leyla!
- Aaaaah!

[both] Whooooa!

[grunting, screaming]

[splash]

[grunting]

Ay-yi!

[Leyla gasping]

[gasps]

- [spitting sound]
- Huh?

How... did I get here?

Aaah! Aaah! Aaah!

Check that... How do
I get out of here?!

[Dak groans]

You call that a landing?

No. I call it a crashing.

[both grunt, cry out]

Did you see where Leyla went?

I think she fell over
there by the river.

Ohh! Where did she go?

Come on. Let’s try this way.

[sighs] Okay, I
guess I ride this log

until the water slows down.

Ohhh!

[whimpers] Or I swim
away very quickly!

That could work too!

[grunting]

Oh, no! [straining]

Ohh!

Uhhh...

Ohhh! Aaah...

[Burple] No! It’s too much!

I can’t take it!

You get free just
in time, right?

Burple, of course she got free.

- No, I didn’t.
- [gasps]

What kind of story is this?!

Come on! Come onnnnn!

Whoah!

Aaaah!

[birds chirping]

[gasps]

[whimpers]

[grunts, groans]

Uh, hello?

Hello? [gasps]

[Burple] Oh, thank goodness
somebody caught her.

I thought Leyla was doomed!

Burple, you knew Leyla
was gonna be okay, right?

How would I know that?

Because she’s right here.

Oh, right.

Yeah, I totally get it now.

Except who keeps saving her?

Are you playing with me?

No...?

It’s Summer who was saving her.

We know that already.

Oh, right!

But Summer,

how did you know it was Leyla?

- I didn’t.
- Then why did you save her?

Arggh. Okay, he’s
definitely playing with me.

Maybe we should just
get back to the story.

[Cutter] Yeah.

And then maybe you can explain

where you and Dak were

while Leyla was
in so much danger.

Uh, you know,

not that I’m interested.

Well, we were far behind.

But instead of finding Leyla,
we found something else.

Her dragon diary!

Dak, what does this mean?

It means we start
searching from right here.

But how? It’s too rocky
to follow the tracks.

We have no idea
which way she went.

But we have to try.

We’re going to search this
island from top to bottom,

inside every cave,
on every beach.

We’ll leave no stone,
rock, or pebble unturned

until we find my sister.

Wow, Dak. That is totally...

not how it happened.

- What?!
- It was more like...

Her dragon diary.

She’d never leave it
behind! What does this mean?

It means we start
searching from right here.

But... but the rocks!
There are no tracks!

We’ll search this island
from top to bottom,

inside every cave,
on every beach.

We’ll leave no stone,
rock or pebble unturned

until we find your sister!

Wow. Winger, that is totally...

not how it happened, either!

To begin with, I
don’t remember that

sun-behind-your-head
thing at all.

Guys. Can Leyla get
back to her story?

Oh, right. Sorry.

At this point, I
was pretty confused.

I didn’t know where I was
or even how I got there.

What I did know was
that I was starving.

[gasps]

I spotted an apple
tree nearby, and...

Okay, let’s see.

[grunting]

Argh.

[panting, grunting]

[panting, grunting, groaning]

Uhh... got it!

Unh! Whoa!

Oof! Ouch. Unh!

[whimpers]

[sighs]

[Summer] Hee hee!

Uh, hello?

Is somebody there?

[quiet rustling]

Huh? [sighs]

Arggh!

What?

[rustling]

Aha!

There you... aren’t.

[wind whistling]

Huh? I thought for sure...

Huh. Oh, well.

[chomps] Mmm!

Remember when we said we were
going to search this island

- from top to bottom?
- Yeah.

[Dak] Well, I think
we’ve hit the bottom.

Let’s rest up for a few minutes.

Ohhh.

Ohhh!

Leyla’s gotta be on
the island somewhere.

We will find her, right, Wing?

- Huh?
- I said,

we will find her, right?

Dak, duck!

Aaah!

Thanks, pal.

Hey, it’s what I do.

[Dak, mocking] "It’s what
I do." You never said that!

Those might not have
been my exact words...

They weren’t your words at all.

And that’s not how
things happened.

We landed on the beach,
all right, but then...

Don’t worry. Leyla’s out there
somewhere. We will find her.

I know we will.

Winger! Eels!

Huh? Oh! Uhh! Aaah!

[whimpers] Eels! Aaah!

[grunting] I’m out of blasts!

[Dak panting] Yahh!

Aaaah!

[Dak grunting]

Uhh... eeeyahh!

Thanks, Dak!

Eh, it’s what I do.

Sorry about all
the wild sh**ting.

Actually, Wing, you
gave me an idea.

When your blasts recharge,

you’re gonna sh**t back
up in the air again...

On purpose this time.

Maybe if we can’t find Leyla,

she can find us!

Anything to get us
away from those eels.

Eels. Why did they
have to be eels?!

Oh, hold on.

I didn’t panic...

that much.

- Kinda think you did.
- [Cutter] Guys!

Can we get back to
Leyla’s story now?

Thought you were,
"Ho-hum," not interested.

I’m not, but, uh, Aggro
and Burple want to hear it,

so I’m just backin’ them up!

I don’t need your backup.

Uh-huh.

Okay, it was starting
to get near sundown,

so I figured I
would need a fire.

Too bad I wasn’t there.

Ohh. Tell me about it.

It took forever clacking two
rocks together to make a spark.

Two rocks? Too bad
I wasn’t there.

[Leyla] Finally I got
a little fire going.

But I needed more firewood.

Huh?

Okay, who did this?

It’s not funny!

Come out right now!

Last chance.

Okay. You wanna be sneaky?

I can do sneaky.

All right. Fire number three.

Guess I gotta go get
some more firewood now.

- Uhhh. Aaah!
- [Leyla] Gotcha!

You pesky water dragon!

[Burple, gasping]
Another water dragon?

- Who was it?
- [Summer] Burple, it was me.

[Burple] Oh. I was wondering
when you were gonna come in.

Go on.

Whoa!

[panting]

Wait! It’s okay!

You don’t have to be afraid!

Yeah, right! I’ve
heard that before!

You’ve heard that before?

From who?

Hold on. You just answered
me. For you to do that,

you would have to
understand what I said,

but that’s impossible!

Impossible for most
people, but not for me.

Hmm.

My name is Leyla.

I’m Summer.

Summer. Pretty name.

How can you talk to me?

My brother Dak and I
were raised by a dragon

alongside her own son, Winger.

She taught us your language.

That is amazing.

In fact, Dak and I
were riding on Winger

when I sorta fell off.

That’s how I got here.

You’re a water
dragon, right, uh...?

- Fastfin.
- Thought so.

How’d you get here?

I was traveling with my pod

when we encountered a
human ship near here.

I think they called
it a "pirate ship"?

The people onboard
offered us fish

and told us not to be afraid.

But when we came close, they
tried to catch us in nets.

No wonder you
don’t trust humans.

I got separated from my pod.

That’s how I ended up here
hiding from those pirates.

I am so sorry.

But I guess it was lucky
for me that you were here.

You pulled me out of the water and
got me those apples, didn’t you?

Kinda looked like
you could use a wing.

Thanks. But what was the deal
with putting out my fires?

Is that some sort
of dragon joke?

Because if it was,
I didn’t get it.

No. I put your fires
out because... [gasps]

- Whoa!
- They attract pirates!

Summer!

- Whaa?!
- Out of the way, lassie.

We’re gettin’ that dragon!

[evil laughter]

- [Leyla] Uh...
- [pirates laughing]

[Burple] Oh, I love
a good pirate story!

Burple, these pirates
were trying to grab us.

Oh... right. This
actually happened.

Come on, come on! Get
back to the story!

What happened next?

Don’t worry, buddy.

They come out okay.

They’re right here, remember?

Argh.

Those sneaky pirates
had us surrounded,

but we weren’t going
down without a fight.

No, we were not.

Ooh! [gurgles]

Ruhhh!

H-2-Oh, no you didn’t!

[pirate] Whoa!

- [grunts]
- Ohhh!

I don’t know what you’re
trying to prove, lassie,

but there are four of
us and only one of you!

You want her, you
gotta go through me!

That’s pretty much the plan!

[pirate laughing]

- [Summer] Aah!
- I don’t like the odds either.

Talking to a dragon?

Somebody’s been on this
island for too long.

Uhhh!

Take off! I’ll cover you!

I can fly. I’ll be okay.

You make a run for it.

Get them!

You saved my life.

I’m not leaving you.

- [pirate] Oooh!
- Waaah!

[grunting]

I can’t see!

Oh! I’ll be your eyes.

Swing left, hard!

[grunts]

[grumbling]

Summer, we need to
get out of here.

I don’t know about this.

Trust me. Go, go, go!

[all grunting]

Right! Left!

Straight! Hard right!

[gasps]

[evil laughter]

- Big water blast!
- Where?!

Straight ahead!

[pirate] Aaah!

Argh. That was embarrassin’.

Whoa. I think we’re safe.

Let’s get those eyes washed out.

Eyes all cleared out?

Yes. I can see again.

Thanks for getting
me out of there.

We did it together.

[both] Huh?

What is that?

That is a power
blast from Winger!

What is he doing?

He and Dak haven’t
been able to find me,

so I think they’re
showing me where they are

so I can find them.

Pretty smart.

- And pretty dangerous.
- Huh?

They’re also showing the
pirates where they are.

Oh, no! I’ve gotta
get to them, fast!

- Wait! Climb on.
- Huh?

[laughs]

Huh?

[rustling]

I told ya Leyla would
see your blasts.

Here she comes now.

- Aha!
- [pirate growling]

Or some really big
and scary pirates!

What do these guys want?

Get that dragon!

Well, that answers that.

Wing, scare ’em
off with a blast.

I can’t. I’m out!

Then I guess we have to handle
them the old-fashioned way.

Hyuh!

Another one talkin’ to dragons?

- What is it with this island?
- I dunno.

- [all growling]
- Gotcha now!

- Huhh!
- Aaah!

[both grunting]

[Dak] I’ll take that!

[roars]

Mommy!

Raaah!

Thanks, pal.

- Hyahh!
- [both] Uhh!

Power blast?

Who needs a power blast?

[both laugh]

[roars]

[Leyla] Say what?!

"Power blast?

Who needs a power blast?"

Apparently you two
could have used one,

because when we got there,
things were pretty different...

[pirates laughing]

[Dak] I’m comin’, buddy!

[all grunting]

[roars]

[all grunting]

- [pirates growling]
- Aaah!

[both laughing]

[gulps]

[Leyla] Dak, duck!

- Whoa!
- Ohhh!

Whoa-ho-ho! Nice!

Oooh!

Thanks, Leyla. Who’s
your new friend?

- I’m Summer.
- I’ll explain later.

Let’s get out of here
before more pirates show up.

Good idea!

Let’s fly!

Argh. Who’s gonna tell
the captain about this?

Not "it."

Dragon-hunting pirates, huh?

Yeah. Good thing we
found you guys in time.

Speaking of finding things...

My dragon diary! Thank you!

And thank you for
saving my sister.

- And us.
- Glad to do it.

And I’m glad to have a fire
you’re not trying to put out.

I think we’re far enough away
from those pirates that it’s okay.

You gonna go back?

I was waiting to see if
my pod might come find me.

But it’s been weeks.

There’s nothing
for me back there.

You should come with us.

[Burple] Hold on!

That is not what happened.

Burple, you weren’t there.

Yes, I was.

We were showing
her the sleep cave

and it was Cutter who
had that funny line

about sleeping indoors.

"You should try
it once. Or twice.

Or like a zillion times!"

Burple. That was when
I joined the team.

It was?

Never mind.

You should come with us.

And do what?

I don’t know. Have adventures.

Help other dragons.
Be a family?

[stomach growling]

Maybe teach us how
to fish better?

[laughs]

- [splash]
- [both] Huh?

- Whoa!
- How did you do that?

Underwater speed-fishing.

Works every time.

What... See?

Does that mean you’re in?

Well...

[Burple] Please say
yes. Please say yes.

Please say yes.
Please say yes!

Burple, of course I said yes!

Whew! Okay. So
what happened next?

That’s pretty
much it. Except...

[Winger] Those
fish were great.

- Thanks!
- [Summer] My pleasure.

Dak, are you still hungry?

Little bit.

I know where we can find

lots of lobsters at high tide.

Which is now...

[both] Because of the full moon!

Isn’t it interesting how
the moon affects tides?

Fascinating. I
love half-moons...

Those two are perfect
for each other.

They sure are.

[both] Mmm.

[Cutter sniffling]

Cutter, are you crying?

[sniffles]

Tears of happiness,

because, uh, the
snow has stopped!

It has?

Yay...

Whoa!

Huh. I thought it had.

Okay, story time is over.

Now I think it’s
dig-my-brother-out time.

[shivering] Th-this is gonna
make a g-great story someday.
