11x06 - Search for the Sunken

Post by bunniefuu »

I don’t know what I’m
gonna do, Rescue Riders!

See anything down there?

Just me holding my breath
longer than Cutter.

It was basically a tie.

Hey, that’s lucky.

Mm!

Don’t worry, Elbone. I know
we’ll find him eventually.

And if not, there are a lot
of other rocks in the sea.

Uh, not that you could
ever replace Rocky.

I guess this wasn’t a good day to
teach Rocky how to swim after all.

Wait, you tried to
teach Rocky how to swim?

That’s how he ended
up in the ocean?

Well, I wouldn’t have thrown him
overboard without a good reason!

Sorry, I had to give up too.

Summer and Burple are
still searching, though.

Wait, Burple outlasted you, too?

How is he still down
there with Summer?

Little-known fact, Rockspitter dragons
can hold extra air in their stomachs.

So little-known, I wonder
if Burple even knows it.

Oh!

Yes!

I got it!

Wait, you got it?

I thought I got it.

- I’m pretty sure I got it.
- Oh.

Rocky!

I thought I lost you, pal!

Huh?

Rocky, your face!

What happened to your...
Oh, there you are.

Oh, and clean too.

That reminds me,
Shelly, Crystal,

forget swimming lessons.
It’s time for your baths.

One successful rescue, and
it’s not even noon yet.

We are good.

I thought I was good, back
when I thought I found Rocky.

Hey, what I did I find?

Looks like nothing but a...

Okay, I don’t know what that is.

Me
neither. Mm.

Wait, Burple, let me see that.

These markings, I’ve
seen them before.

I think this could be from
the lost city of Valantis!

No, it’s from Burple’s stomach.

No, Valantis.

Valantis, everyone!

Nobody else has
heard of Valantis?

Ah, here it is.

And it matches. Oh,
it really matches!

Okay, someone better tell
me what’s going on soon,

because it’s no fun
being this far behind.

Now you know how I
feel all the time.

According to legend, Valantis was
a very, very, very old Viking city.

Now
that I think about it,

that thing tasted
very, very, very old.

Still, not bad.

As the stories go,

the Vikings who lived there
were friends with dragons,

and put together all
they learned about them

in a huge library that’s said to be
filled with untold dragon secrets.

Hmm? Dragon secrets? Like what?

I don’t know. That’s
why they’re secrets.

Oh. Right.

But, wait, an ancient city where the
Vikings and dragons were friends?

How come I’ve never
heard of this before?

Because it’s said that long
ago Valantis sank into the sea.

No one has ever known
exactly where it was located.

But if this thing Burple
found is really from Valantis,

it could be somewhere
near Huttsgalor.

Exactly!

So what are we waiting for?
Let’s go find Valantais

and unlock all those
awesome dragon secrets!

Why is no one following
me to find Valantis

and unlock all those
awesome dragon secrets?

Dak, you heard Leyla. The
city sank into the sea.

I mean, I can breathe
underwater, but no one else can.

Summer’s right. As much as
I’d love to find Valantis too,

we’d never be able to hold
our breaths that long.

Yeah, I can only hold mine
a little longer than Cutter.

It was a tie!

Aw, come on.

There’s gotta be a way.

I wanna know all the
secret-y secrets too.

Burps, maybe you could
try going with Summer.

Just store more air
in your stomachs.

I can store air in my stomachs?

See? Told you he didn’t know.

Actually, that’s it!

What if there was a way for all of
us to store extra air, like Burple?

But you only have
one stomach, I think.

I’ve never really checked.

Can you eat four lunches too?

What I mean is, maybe
Hannahr can help.

Why?

Does she have four stomachs?

Oh, wait, I know what you mean.

Let me get this
straight, Rescue Riders.

You want me to make something

that you and all the dragons
can use to store extra air

so you can breathe underwater?

That sounds like an incredibly
difficult blacksmithing challenge.

Well, it was just
an idea. I-I mean...

I accept.

We were hoping you’d say that.

Now, come on. Let’s
get blacksmithing.

Dohh! I really
gotta work on that.

- Oh!

- Huh? Oh, come on!

- Huh.

Looks like Elbone’s glassblowing
business finally came in handy.

Ley, we can’t use
lanterns underwater.

We can if they’re filled
with gloopberries.

Ah, good thinking.

Well, what do you
think, Rescue Riders?

They’re so cool.

Careful, Burps.

Objects in diving helmet
are closer than they appear.

These things are awesome,
Hannahr! I knew we could do it.

As you know, "we" installed
these air gauges on your helmets

so you’ll know how
much air you have left.

Oh, that’s what those are?

I mean, of course.

That’s... that’s what those are.

Green means you’ve
got plenty of air.

Yellow means you’ve got less.

And red means...

Get out of the water right away?

Eh, I wouldn’t dawdle.

Thanks, Hannahr. We’ll
see you when we get back.

Okay, g*ng, ready to see
if these things work?

Wait, if they work?

There’s a chance
they won’t work?

No one said anything about
something not working!

I think we’re about
to find out, Burps.

We sure are.

Come on, let’s go find Valantis.

Hey, they work.

They really work!

I’m actually
breathing underwater!

Check me out!

Underwater, I can
ride like this.

Or this.

- Or even this!

You’ve pretty much done all
those things up in the air too.

Good point. But now I’m
doing ’em in slow motion.

It’s so peaceful down here.

Now I know how the fish feel.

And Summer!

And the Divewings.
And northern lobster.

And clams!

Wait, do clams breathe?

I never thought about that before, but
now I can’t stop thinking about it.

I can’t stop thinking about how it
used to be so peaceful down here.

It’s not always peaceful.

The underwater world can be just
as dangerous as the one above.

It can?

Now I can’t stop
thinking about that!

Did you really have
to burst his bubble?

Summer’s right. Let’s stick
together. No one drift off.

Sorry.

I’ve never been
this deep before.

Ooh, there are so many different
kinds of fish down here to try.

Look, there’s a delicious
speckled snapper.

And there’s a tasty
yellowfin tuna.

And there’s a
mouth-watering giant eel.

- Wait. G-g-giant eel?!

I think those are deep sea eels.

Way bigger and nastier
than regular ones.

How is that even possible?

Summer said it could
be dangerous down here.

Everyone, take cover.

Take cover? Uh, where?

Yikes!

Usually when we see eels,

we can just blast ’em
or fly out of the way!

But not down here!

Cutter, try your spikes!

Hahhh!

Okay, that’s just about the
saddest thing I’ve ever seen.

- And scariest!

H- -on it, Cut!

"H- -on it" in H O? Cool!

- Summer, look out!

- What was that?
- I-I don’t know!

Come on.

If we can’t fight these eels,
maybe we can outrun them.

I think you mean "out-swim".

Not now, Cutter.

Guys, in here!

Ohh. I think we lost ’em.

Whew!

And ourselves, too.

Where are we?

Good question.

We have to keep searching.

We can’t give up
before we find...

- Valantis!

Good thing my super-sight
works down here.

Whoa.

We are not in
Huttsgalor anymore.

Come on.

Wow.

Whoa. Amazing.

The markings
are the same.

I can’t believe it!

We really found Valantis!

Oh, it’s even more
amazing than I dreamed.

Probably wetter too, am I right?

A whole city where dragons
and people were friends.

They were like the
original Rescue Riders.

This city is a piece of history, and
we should keep it just the way it is.

Be careful not to
touch anything.

Sure!

Which is why I was just picking
up this pot to look at it

and was totally not planning
to take it home with me.

- I didn’t do it!

Maybe don’t touch
anything, starting now.

Ley, over here!

My ancient Viking picture
language is a little rusty.

Uh, think the dragon
library could be in there?

I think it could! Come on!

Wait, we’re swimming into the dark
and mysterious underwater hallways?

Eh. When in Valantis...

Uh... Hmm.

These halls
all look alike.

It’s even more confusing
than the Maze Caves in here.

Wetter, too!

And no, I am not gonna
stop making that joke.

At least there aren’t any more
of those giant eels in here.

Well, I’m more worried
about getting lost.

Really? Eels b*at getting
lost every time for me.

How about getting lost
and running out of air?

We’ve used up half
our supply so far.

Don’t worry, I’ll just mark the walls with
a fire blast like we do in the Maze Caves.

- Cutter, no!

Uh, phew!

Good thing I caught myself.

Talk about a plan
blowing up in your face!

Actually, Cutter, you gave me an
idea on how we can mark our way.

Using these stone
pots to mark our way

is a great idea, Ley.

Oh, sure.

When we touch stuff,
we get in trouble.

When Leyla does it,
it’s a great idea.

It is a great idea though.

Wait! I think this
might be the library!

Let me take a look.

- Uh-oh.

What is it, Ley?

You really don’t want to know.

You’re right, I
did not wanna know.

That is one big octopus.

And smart, too.

What? It lives in a library.

It probably stays in there to
hide from those giant eels.

I bet it’s scared of us too.

That’s funny, ’cause
I’m scared of it.

Maybe if we can convince it we’re
friendly, it will let us in.

That’s a great idea!

We can sing it a song.

Or, oh, I know! Do
a friendship dance!

Everyone’s a critic.

I don’t think it
wants to be friends.

I was thinking more along the
lines of offering it some fish.

Oh! That’s an even better idea!

The way to anyone’s heart
is through their stomach.

Huh?

Uh, we should probably
go catch some, right?

Here, let me and
Summer try first.

Swim slowly, Sum.

Um, hungry?

Ohh!

I think we can
take that as a yes.

Come on. Now everyone try.

Uh, we just want to be friends.

Eh?

It worked!

Come on!

I can’t wait to
see what’s inside!

This is it, the
Library of Secrets.

It’s just
how I pictured it.

Only wetter?

Okay, I’ll stop.

No, I won’t.

I thought libraries were
supposed to have books.

That’s now.

Back when Valantis was around,

Vikings wrote on stone tablets.

Cool. And waterproof.

That’s an added bonus.

- Okay.

Guess we’re just
touching everything now.

All these tablets are really
filled with secrets about dragons?

Isn’t it amazing?

The trick is figuring
out what they say.

Uh, my ancient Viking picture
language is a little rusty too.

I think this one might
be about Slinkwings.

Something about how their goo
tastes good in fish wraps?

That can’t be right.

And if it is, it
should stay a secret.

Are there any secrets
about Rockspitters in here?

Actually, there might be!

Hey, that looks just like me!

But what is ancient
picture Burple doing?

Is that a back burp?

Underwater?

A back burp underwater?

Huh. I’ve never tried that!

Whoa!

I’m okay.

Yippee!

I think we just figured
out what this one means.

If Rockspitter dragons
back burp when they swim...

We can go really
fast underwater!

Whoo-hoo!

I’m not the slowest
dragon anymore!

I love this secret.

Whoa!

Hey!

Remind me never to
swim behind Burple.

Whoo!

Awesome!

Oh, Summer, look at this one.

I think it’s about
Fastfins like you!

Well, what does it say?

Hmm, uh, I’m not sure.

It seems to be something
about your blasts.

But that doesn’t look
like a normal water blast.

No, and the water dragon’s eyes are closed
like it’s trying to listen for something.

Wait a second. I think this
has something to do with sonar!

Whoa! Sonar! I love sonar!

Tell me what sonar is.

It’s a way some animals can
see without using their eyes.

Basically, they send out a
kind of high-pitched sound

and then can tell how
far away something is

by how quickly that sound
bounces back to them.

Leyla, are you sure that’s
what the tablet means?

I’ve never done anything
like that before.

Maybe you did and
you didn’t know it.

Remember when you tried blasting
that eel and made that weird sound?

Maybe you did a sonar
blast by accident!

Uh, you got the "by
accident" part right.

Go on, Summer. Try it again.

Yeah, I really gotta see this.

Or is it hear this?

Either way, no pressure.

Okay, um, I think

the last time I kinda screamed
at the same time I blasted,

like...

I think it’s working!
Oh, no, it’s-it’s not.

Sorry.

Um, you don’t think

those giant eels can hear all
the noise we’re making, do you?

All the way in here?

Not a chance.

Okay, maybe a slight chance.

So we’re caught between

a school of giant eels
and a giant octopus?

Make that a... aah!

Giant octopus who’s
angry at us for...

aaah! Bringing in the eels!

I’m starting to think I’m
more of a land dragon.

Thanks, Wing...

Unfortunately, we’ve got
another problem now too.

Pirates?!

What?! No, air!

Air pirates?!

No! We’re almost out of air!

Because of the pirates?

Huh?

Burple, use the air
stored in your stomachs!

Ahhh! Oh, gotcha!

Huh?

We’ll never be able to make it back through
those hallways with the eels out there.

Then we should
bring them in here!

What?!

When the octopus sees the
eels, it’ll blast out its ink,

and hopefully the eels
won’t be able to see us.

But we won’t be able
to see anything either!

No, but Summer will,
with her new sonar power.

- She can lead us out.
- Exactly!

You mean my new sonar power

that we’re not even sure is real

and that I have no
idea how to use?

Come on, Sum, I know
you can do this.

Yeah, we all do!

H- -oh, boy.

Okay, on one, two...

- Three!

Yeah, that’s it!

Hit ’em with all you’ve got!

Come on!

- Which way?
- Sum, you’re up!

It’s not working!

I can’t see anything!

Close your eyes.

Believe in yourself.

Hey, hey, hey, I
think I’m doing it!

I can see, I can actually see!

Follow me!

Left!

Now right!

Big eel coming
straight towards us!

Phew!
Thank you, sonar.

We’re almost out!

Of the hallways?

No! Of air!

Wait, I think there’s
a way out ahead.

But the eels
are right behind us!

They’re gonna catch us!

You guys go on ahead!

Wait for it, wait for it...

Whoa!

Yeah!

Whoo!

You did it, Summer! You
mastered your sonar power!

Hmm, I always knew I would.

Don’t forget Burple.

He mastered his
back-bubble-booster-blast.

Do we really have
to call it that?

I just wish we had
more time down there.

Summer and Burple
discovered new powers,

but there are so many other
tablets in that library.

Uh, Leyla...

I know you said,
"Don’t touch anything,"

but you didn’t say,
"Don’t swallow anything."

Oh, Burps.

Wow, that might’ve been
our weirdest adventure yet.

And the wettest!

Huh? My own joke
used against me?

I’m so proud of you guys!
