Up, up and away.

TUMMI: Now, stay tuned
for the Summi Bear Ghow.

Uh-- Gummi Bear Show. It's magical.

Artie, look, Aerial Island.

MALE VOICE:
A Gummi Bear.

- Gummi Bear. Gummi Bear.
- Gummi Bear. Gummi Bear.

[UPBEAT MUSIC PLAYING]

[WIND WHISTLING]

GRAMMI:
And through the clouds that twirl and twist

Soar the Aerials in the mist.

Streaking skyward, single file,
To their wondrous floating isle.

And to this day, the Aerials fly
And dwell among the clouds on high.

Wow.

GRAMMI:
Story's over.

Uh-huh.

Time to hit the sack, sleepy head.

Gee, Grammi,
I wonder what it's like to live in the sky.

[LAUGHS]

Pretty windy, I'd imagine.

Not half as cosy as our glen.

Sweet dreams, Cubbi.

If I could fly,
just think of all the things I could do.

All the sights I could see.

Oh, if onIy there was a way.

[BIRDS CHIRPING]

One small step for Gummis,
one giant leap for Gummidom.

Hmm.

Ah.

[WHISTLES]

- You've been staring at that all morning.
- Yeah, I know, pal.

There's nothing. Zero.
Less than zero. Ahh.

I'm just waiting for an inspiration.

Trust me, sooner or later, it's gonna hit.

CUBBI: Gangway!
ARTIE: Ooh!

[CRASHING]

What's this, the Gummi Express?

Sorry, Artie, I was trying to fly.

Well, it takes more than just wings.

- Like what?
- Posture's all wrong.

Head must be up, back straight,
and that flapping? Wa-ha-ha.

A joke.

Gee, Artie,
could you show me how to fly?

You'd be the perfect teacher.

Ah. You've got a point there.

Besides, it looks like
I won't be missed around here.

[SQUAWKS]

CUBBI:
One, two, one, two, one, two, one, two.

One, two, one, two, one, two, one, two.

One, two, one, two, one, two, one, two.

One, two, one, two, one, two, one, two.

[CUBBI SCREAMS]

[THUDDING]

Rule number one: don't stop flapping.

Rule number two:
look before you plunge.

All you need is a little extra oomph.

Well, this Gummiberry Juice
ought to do the trick.

Up, up and away. Awk!

Attabear, you'll be flying in no time.

I better. The juice doesn't last forever.

How long does it take to wear off?

That soon, huh?

ZUMMI:
That's fantastic, Gruffi.

With my new harvester, we can pick
twice the berries in half the time.

See? No fuss, no muss.

[CUBBI SCREAMING]

Cubbi, what do you think you're doing?

I'm learning how to fly.

TUMMI: Gee, shouldn't you learn
how to land first?

Listen, kid,
Gummis weren't meant to fly.

- Who says?
- I do.

If we flew, we'd stick out
like an ogre's sore thumb.

Gruffi's right, darling.

If anyone ever finds out where we live,
we could lose our home for good.

That'd be horrible.

But no one will see me.
I'll be real careful.

This isn't a debate, kid.

Now, take off those silly wings
and get to work.

Oh, well.
What goes up must come down.

Ugh. If onIy we could have figured out
how to get that little extra oomph.

Hey, watch where you're...going.

- That's it.
- That's it.

Ta-da! The Gummi Bear booster.
How's that for oomph?

Well, it does add a certain panache.

Well, if this doesn't do it, nothing will.

Keep your feathers crossed.

[SCREAMS]

It worked. He's really--

- Out of control!
- Aah!

[MOOS]

[CUBBI SCREAMS]

[CHICKENS CLUCKING]

[SCREAMS]

Huh? Francine, if I didn't know better,
I'd say one of the pigs just flew off.

Uh! Maybe Gruffi was right.
Gummis weren't meant to fly.

Chicken feathers. Do exactly what I do.

[SQUAWKS]

[SQUAWKS]

[ARTIE WHISTLES]

You're a natural.

Come on, slowpoke,
bet you can't catch me.

Whee!

ARTIE:
Hey, stop playing games.

CUBBI:
But I wanna see how high I can fly.

Be careful
or you'll see how far you can fall.

Artie, look.

[SQUAWKS]

CUBBI:
Aerial Island. It's real.

Come on, last one there's a rotten ogre.

Maybe I should have taught him
how to sing instead.

- I must be dreaming.
- Well, then wake up.

I don't like this place. It's too quiet.

- Awk!
- A Gummi Bear.

Friends of yours, I hope.

- Gummi Bear. Gummi Bear.
- Gummi Bear. Gummi Bear.

- Gummi Bear.
- It's a Gummi Bear.

- Gummi Bear. Gummi Bear.
- Gummi Bear. Gummi Bear.

- Gummi Bear.
- Gummi Bear.

- Time to fly this coop.
- Ditto.

CUBBI:
Hey.

Let me go, you wormy wimps.

[ALL YELLING]

[CROWD CHATTERING]

AERIAL KING:
Welcome to our humble home.

Please excuse my people's excitement.

It's been years
since we last saw a Gummi Bear.

You guys knew the ancient Gummis?

Oh, yes.
We used to be the greatest of friends.

[ALL CHUCKLING]

But where are your wings?

- Uh-- Wings?
- Yeah, you know, the ones on your back.

What's he talking about?

Hey, we ain't angels, you know.

[ALL LAUGHING]

But my storybook says
that Aerials fly on wings.

Oh, yes, those wings.

So, you see, this is how we flew--

Uh, fly, in air machines.

Neato. It's too bad
the other Gummis aren't here.

They'd love to see these.

And I'd love to show them too.

But if our ancestors
were such good friends,

why did they stop seeing each other?

Well, you know how friends lose touch.

Which is why you must stay for dinner,
so that we can get reacquainted. Heh-heh.

What do you say, Aerials?

A grand banquet
for our honoured guest?

AERIAL MAN : Oh, yeah.
AERIAL MAN : Yeah.

[ALL CHATTERING]

Imagine, sire,
a Gummi Bear after all this time,

and he's got the juice.

Just what we need to power our ships.

This is our lucky day, Orvis.

ORVIS: Yes. Too bad he won't be able
to say the same.

[CHUCKLING]

A bolt from the blue.
Inspiration has finally struck.

[LAUGHS]

Wait till Artie sees this.

Hey, why the long faces, chums?

Oh, wait, wait, wait, don't tell me.

Gruffamondo is on the warpath again,
right?

No, we're just worried about Cubbi.

We can't find him anywhere.

- Mystery's over, folks.
- You found him.

No, but I found
that his wings are gone too.

I can't believe Cubbi would try to fly
after we told him not to.

Believe it, Grammi,

it's high time somebody brought that kid
down to earth for good.

Have another, lad.
They're lighter than air.

Gosh, I've hardly eaten any of these.

I don't trust these vultures.

Will you relax and enjoy yourself?

It's not every day you get to sit
next to a guest of honour.

Brother.

Excuse me, but I must check
on a very important matter.

Before I go, however,

I'd like to present you with a dessert
made especially in your honour.

Great Gummi.

PILOT:
Careful, men.

Make sure there's enough juice left
so the Gummi can return home.

Ha-ha-ha. Yeah, once we find out
where the runt lives,

we'll have all the Gummiberry Juice
we'll ever need to fuel our ships.

All we gotta do is kidnap a few bears
to make the juice for us. Heh-heh.

I wouldn't be so confident if I were you.

Remember,
the Gummis defeated us once

when our ancestors
tried to conquer them.

We've been left high and dry ever since.

Worry not, sire. Before this day is out,

the Aerials will be well on their way
to ruling the skies again.

[CHATTERING]

Some friends.

[SQUAWKS]

[CHUCKLES]

Look what I found, sire.

Get your claws off me, turkey.

Well, well, what have we here?

A little bird with a big mouth.

CUBBI:
This has really been great, guys.

But I better go home now
before the others miss me.

- Hmm. Has anyone seen Artie?
- Your feathered friend? Ahem.

I'm afraid he's already left.

- Left?
- Yes.

He said something
about having to polish his beak.

Sometimes I don't understand that bird.

AERIAL KING:
I know. Toucans can be so flighty.

Well, thanks for everything.
Come down and see us sometime.

[CHUCKLES]

Oh, you can count on that.
Sooner than you think.

[CHUCKLES]

Foolish bear.

All right, let's get buzzing.

[LAUGHING]

AERIAL MAN:
Victory through air power.

Ha-ha. Coming down is a real breeze.

- Whoa!
- When I get hold of that birdbrain bear--

Ooh!

Nice of you to drop in, Cubbi.

Oh, Gruffi,
wait till you hear where I've been.

Wait till you hear where you're going.

- Grounded for good?
- You heard me, kid.

Really, Cubbi, you could have jeopardised
the whole glen with your joyriding.

But nobody saw me except the Aerials.

Now, now, Cubbi,
those are just fairy tales.

No, they're real.

- I've heard enough.
- But it's true. Just ask Artie.

Oh.

So has the prisoner
been soundly thrashed?

Very funny, Gusto.

Honestly, I don't understand
why Cubbi tells such tall tales.

They aren't just tall, they're sky high.

[WHIRRING]

Gee, are those bees?
They sound awfully busy.

And big too.

Get them.

- Aerials.
- Cubbi was telling the truth.

[SCREAMS]

I'll stop them with a spell.

[STARTS CHANTING
IN FOREIGN LANGUAGE]

Let him go, you dodo.

[GRUNTING]

Ha-ha. The juice.

Hold it right there, buster.
Nobody messes up my kitchen.

[SCREAMS]

Grammi, Zummi.

Come on, Tummi,
we've gotta pluck those canaries' wings.

[GASPS]

What's that?

Aerials. Here?

Hurry, Tummi.

[COUGHING]

Gruffi, wait.

ZUMMI:
Oh, I really don't like--

We'll give those buggers
a run for their Gummi.

Now I've got you, you flying freaks.

[BOTH GRUNTING]

Gruffi.

TUMMI:
I got you, Gruffi.

[GRUNTING]

[CHUCKLES]

Nice catch, men.
Oh, the king will be pleased.

Where are we going?

I'm not sure, Sunni, but please,
let me know when we get there.

CUBBI:
Gruffi, Grammi, somebody.

Everyone's gone.

Oh, if onIy I had listened to Gruffi.

If onIy I hadn't put on
those stupid wings.

The wings.

Hang on, Gummis.

I'm on my way!

[SOBS]

I wanna go home.

Yeah, what's left of it.

This is your home now, Gummi Bear.

Here you will stay
and make juice for our airships

until the skies
belong to the Aerials again.

Now, see here. If you think
we're doing anything for you,

you've got your head in the clouds.

It's a long drop to Gummi Glen,
my friend.

Unless you comply, we might find out
just how high a Gummi can bounce.

Oh, my goodness, no.

Put him down, needle nose.

- Please.
GRAMMI: You win.

We'll make your juice.

- The airship is fuelled, sire.
AERIAL KING: Excellent.

We'll bring up fresh Gummiberries

so these bears
can start making the juice at once.

CUBBI: Look out below!
- Ah!

Here comes Top Gum.

ALL:
Cubbi.

CUBBI:
Heads up.

The juice.

[SQUAWKS]

Going my way?

I want his wings clipped. Now!

You were right, Artie.
These guys are bad news.

- Let's free the others.
- Will do.

Uh-oh. Company.

Gosh, how'd he learn to fly like that?

ARTIE:
He had a great teacher.

[SQUAWKS]

Artie, old chum,
can you get us out of these?

It's a snap.

PILOT:
Okay, troops, put the squeeze on.

Oops.

Heh-heh. Now we got him.

Ta-da!

[PILOTS SCREAMING]

Look out!

Now's our chance.

- Do you know how to start this thing?
- Just give me a minute.

We may not have that long.

Hurry, it's the onIy vehicle left with fuel.

PILOT : Open up!
PILOT : Yeah, let me in!

Gruffi, we got a slight problem here.

- Yeah, yeah, I hear you.
- Have you tried that switch?

GRUFFI: Which one?
- The little one that says "start."

[ENGINE STARTS]

Stop them!

[AERIALS YELLING]

You darn fool,
you wanna get us all k*lled?

Quit griping.
We're getting away, aren't we?

ZUMMI:
Oh. Oh, I can't look.

Hold onto your hats.

[GUMMI BEARS SCREAMING]

TUMMI: I shouldn't have had
a second helping at lunch.

They made it, Artie.
They're heading home.

Not a bad idea. Come on.

You're not going anywhere, flyboy.

Oh, yeah?

Get me down.

Gladly.

[SCREAMING]

Egads!

[CRASHING]

[GROANING]

So long, Your SIyness.

Wait. You can't leave us here
high and dry.

Maybe we'll meet again
in another years.

AERIAL KING:
Come back, you--! You flying fur ball!

So much for that.
I sure hope the others landed safely.

[GUMMI BEARS SCREAMING]

[CRASHING]

GUSTO:
Uh-- One tiny bit of advice, Gruff.

You might wanna work
on those landings.

Whew.

- Oh, my goodness.
- At least we're all in one piece.

Yeah, too bad the ship isn't.

TUMMI:
Ah. Home sweet home.

Oh, and to think we almost lost it.

Thank heavens Cubbi was there
when we needed him.

Well, at least one good thing
came out of all this.

The kid has finally hung up his wings.

CUBBI: Yeah, I don't wanna fly like a bird
anymore.

Now I wanna swim like a fish.

ALL:
What?

Just look.
There's this neato underwater city.

And it's full of mermen and mermaids.

I wonder what they do down there.
Wrestle octopuses?

- Yeah, I can just see it.
- Oh, no.
